Sometimes all we need to feel better is a bit of nostalgia in our tummies. On this particular day all I wanted to eat was an old school teri burger. No fancy buns, crazy packaging or gourmet fixings. Just a simple bun with teriyaki patty, lettuce and mayo. Is that too much to ask for? Well WM was closed and Yelp brought up BBQ Town as a suitable alternate. Located in the little strip mall that also houses Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha, Cake Couture and Jack's, BBQ Town is not a town at all, but a small shop that's got just the right amount of run down to make it feel legit. My fiance and I both ordered the teriyaki beef burger for $3.75. Our to-go order came out quickly and we opened up our little package of goodness at home. First off, we both thought the sandwich was rather small but I guess we don't need everything in our life super sized. Although I thought I had ordered a teri burger, this was actually teriyaki BBQ sliced meat but it was still tasty. I don't think I'd go out of my way to grab a bite from BBQ Town, but if I'm in the area this might be a simple option to lunchtime woes. Next time though, I will be sure to make sure I'm ordering the right item!

Since this place has such great reviews I decided that I needed to try it.... The teriburger was tasty but the meat had a lot of gristle. The sauce did not look very appetizing, but it tasted ok...I guess I need to order the deluxe because the one I ordered was really plain...bun, sauce and meat. I came home and added the mayo, lettuce and tomato. I had a small order of extra crispy fries ...that turned out to be quite generous and crispy... All in all, it was ok....I might go back and try the teribeef or maybe a plate lunch...

Yelp 100 Challenge #11/100 We were looking for somewhere to try at Aina Haina Shopping Center and read reviews on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. We arrived by 6:00 pm and we were the only one there. I ordered the BBQ mix plate and my wife ordered the BBQ Chicken plate. While we were waiting I noticed the tables were all clean. It kind of reminds me of an L & L with the red tables. After about 10 minutes our food was ready. Both plate lunches were very hot and fresh. The BBQ Chicken was very moist and tender. Also the Kalbi was better than some Korean establishments I've been too. I also enjoyed the teri beef, which I never order and is probably the last thing I eat in a Zip Pac from Zippy's. By 6:09 pm the other 3 tables (there are 4 total at BBQ Town) were filled with folks so I guess we just beat the rush. Overall, I really enjoyed the food there. I'll definitely be back to BBQ Town.

You get a lot of food for such a reasonable price. My chicken katsu could have easily been split between two people. Two large cutlets, rice and macaroni salad. Very good food! Just note that they only take cash, but there is an ATM right outside.

Wonderful barbecue. The young man behind the counter was a little aloof upon seeing mainlanders walk into the store, but overall some of the best curry I've had outside of India.

It's been years since I've eaten here because I don't live near here anymore. I was fishing in Hawaii Kai and after a few hours out on the flats, my stomach was growling. I was driving back into town and realized that BBQ Town Drive Inn was coming right up so I just had to get my hands on a juicy double cheeseburger. Wow, they're really remodeled Aina Hina's shopping center. It's terrific! I guess that's why the burgers prices went up just a tad but not much at all. I believe it was still under $4. I would be more than happy to pay Teddy's $15 burger prices if they served a BBQ Town Drive Inn burgers there. I asked for my order to be a take-out and walked back to my car that was parked in front of the restaurant to do some work emails. To my surprise, one of the staff (I believe it's a family member) actually came out and delivered it to me. I was shocked, now that's kick-ass customer service. The burger never made it out of the parking lot. I devoured it within minutes and really thought about getting another one. Yes, it's that darn good! You gotta come and order a double cheeseburger. Holy burger!

I had the BBQ mix plate. Lots of meat and rice for under $10. Great and friendly service. I would recommend it.

BEST PLATE LUNCH PLACE EVER!!!!! I wish I could give more stars!!! Everything is just delicious but my favorite plate is "BBQ chicken". The chicken is always so tender and never dry. I also love the mac-salad on the side. My husband is "veal cutlet"-lover. If you are looking for a good plate lunch place, it worth a try!!!

I only went back out of necessity. I was hungry to the point of getting the shakes, and literally didn't want to wait a second longer to put some food in my hypoglycemic body. My first trip to this place was so bad, I never otherwise would have gone back. I'd ordered the shrimp curry, which on a normal day in any other local joint, would be supremely satisfying. The fact that it's really quite difficult to make BAD curry, given the variety of pre-made mixes available, means there's no excuse for something sub-par. Well, the makers of curry concentrate would be weeping in their plastic packaging upon tasting the slop this place served... The blandest most awful non-event to ever take place on my tongue. The shrimp was also boiled to the point of no return, sacrificing any saving grace that may have been left. So flash forward to my late lunch needs today, and the fact that it seemed my fastest option at that particular moment in time. I ordered a BBQ chicken plate (how can you go wrong?) and--hooray!--they delivered. It was perfectly good food - not bad at all. In fact, good enough that I'd definitely get it again. Mind your choices and you'll be fine. It's a true 3-star middle-of-the-road plate lunch joint. With that said, they will rip you off for refills (half the original price), and they only take cash. Come prepared...and not thirsty.

I ate lunch there yesterday (Thurs) about noon. Wasn't crowded so I got a table. Ordered the double cheese burger, small fries (lol) and water. Food came out quickly. The burger was excellent! While I could taste a hint of onion in the meat, it was very tasty with nice melted American cheese. The small portion of fries was larger than I expected and perfectly cooked. All served warm at proper temperatures. I ate it all and felt completely satisfied. I'll definitely be back for a replay.

Figuring it was good to eat before shave ice at Uncle Clay's, we walked around the shopping center looking for a lunch place. McDonald's? Subway? No! What about this place filled with construction and utility workers? Ok! We didn't even know what they served. My husband ordered a plate lunch with chicken, teriyaki beef, fish, and maybe ribs. I ordered a fish burger. Then we waited. And waited. This was the only bad part of the experience because it gave me time to worry about my fish burger. "You ordered a....fish burger??" he said. "Well.. yeah...I couldn't decide, and it seemed like a good idea, but...." I said. "What were you thinking?" he said, as we both imagined that I would get something like a salmon patty but with odd fish bits. You can imagine my relief when the fish burger turned out to be a hot, perfectly breaded and fried fillet on a bun! Simple, but good. My husband was really happy with his food, too. I tried the teriyaki and would definitely order that if we ever find ourselves in Aina Haina again.

Chicken katsu/cutlet with gravy or sauce is big big big and $7.95 so take extra home. Reminds me if Masa's Massive plate in the day . Other items look good as new help is Japanese.

It's difficult to rate a plate lunch place on a single visit. That being said, BBQ Town surprisingly made me a fan! I ordered the mini hamburger steak, which came as two patties (with perfect grill marks), a scoop of rice and a scoop of mac salad. Brown gravy smothered every crevice of the Styrofoam plate, with the perfect consistency: thick enough to ooze, but not enough to be chunky. It was also the "mashed potato-like" gravy, steaming the rice and the hamburgers with its fresh, radiant heat. The hamburgers themselves had that distinct "grilled" taste, as if it had just come off a charcoal grill. I tasted every wonderful carcinogenic molecule... Downsides were the lack of seating, waiting for food, and a slightly unclean eating area, which is almost standard to all plate lunch places.

BEST. HOMEMADE. BBQ BURGER. on the eastside. No joke. I've been going here for years so I cannot explain why I didn't write a review until now. But let's get serious, BBQ Town has the simplest, yummiest, & cheapest burger around. I don't bother with a deluxe, just a burger and the bun with their magical BBQ Town sauce...so much flavor with that charbroiled taste, yum! I would even say it's better than W&M since their burger seems to have shrank in size over time while prices seem to slowly rise. Also, I get their "small" fries which is really a gigantic serving of fries. Their fries are (IMHO) good, too....some crunchy, some soggy, and some super long fries (love those!). Best part about having the best burger & fries is the total comes out to less than $4. WTH? Yup, cereal. bible. no joke. Lunch on a budget, people! Sorry can't really judge the other menu items, because I stay strictly burger only when I visit. Owned by a Chinese family, you can take a wild guess if they might be friendly or not. Aina Haina doesn't have many options, but BBQ Town is a hit with me!

Every time I go here I always order the BBQ chicken. Their BBQ chicken is hot and ready to eat when I pick my food up. I say this place has the Best BBQ chicken in town because all the other BBQ chickens I had are mostly over grilled or burnt. But I recommend going to BBQ town for lunch! The only thing bad about this place is it's CASH ONLY. Sometimes when I don't have cash in my wallet, I wish they accept credit cards but I guess I got to walk across the mall and take out money.

Had the Katsu, wasn't the best I've had, but still pretty good. The father-in-law had a cheeseburger, which he said was really good. Prices were all under $10, cash only. Seeing that it's near where I live now, I'm sure we'll be back again.

I've never gotten sick from their food. I've always gotten the correct food. Sometimes it takes a while to make the food but that's why they hall call in orders. They have teriyaki fries! AWESOME! The lady that's always there is always nice. The only shitty part is they put a lot of ice in their soda cups so you don't get much, BUT that can be good, less stuff that's bad for you! Anyway, just ask for only a little ice. This is one of my favorite fast food that serves all kinda of stuff [:

We were craving plate lunch type fare & so ventured into BBQ town - ordered a veal cutlet mini plate, a bbq combo plate, and a side of large fries..... Everything was suprisingly good !! they seemed to have a good flow of patrons coming in to pick up take out orders plus the 4 booths in their were all filled, it was clean and the cashier was really friendly & sweet to my daughter. We will definately be back when another craving hits..... my son wants the burger Rick L. yelped about next time.

Yumm. I love their Loco Moco. They don't take cards (at least they didn't when I was there, but there is an ATM 20 feet away)

Such a disappointment...how can you mess up BBQ chicken and chicken katsu? Both were so bland and the katsu sauce didn't make it much better. The portions are a good size but other than that, I wouldn't recommend BBQ Town. Drive a little further to get your plate lunch fix...I think this is the only one in the Aina Haina area.
