This Starbucks deserves 6 Stars. If you could actually deliver 6 Stars, I would definitely deliver it to them personally. They make your drink exactly how you like it, never too much, never too little. What I also loved was, no matter how busy they got & how many customers they serve, they managed to remember my order in a matter of a week when I visited there three times: Grande Double Chocolate Chip NO whip cream 1 shot of espresso for Malia. I got my drink before I paid for it! But now I'm trying this thing where I would try every flavor if I didn't like it. To get into details, let me break it down: Customer Service: Awesome, awesome, awesome. Very polite, very quick, very creative on how they run the store & get the orders in & out. They're always professional, friendly, & very well dressed. Beverages: They always hit the spot. Snacks: You must try the lemon bars & coffee crumb cake; It's to die for!

Usually I like it when SB are attached to Borders. But in this case, it's a disaster. People leave their books/magazines on the tables, and it's always a mess. The service is slow, and they got my order wrong twice in the same week. Idk if it was the baritsas fault or the cashier's fault...but they got my order wrong. It's not that hard. Passion Tea Lemonade. Come on guys. The only good thing is that there's kind of a lot of parking. However, the first (and last) time I studied here, I got dirty looks from the employees. Geez, I bought a drink..I wasn't just loafing around.

Starbucks is always a favorite. Did you try the new LARGE size? Its great and doesnt cost that much more. This location is great as its connected to the book store.

This is one of the best Starbucks on the island, located in Pearlridge. They have always gotten my order correct and the workers are always friendly. The drinks are made perfectly and are made quickly. It's busy most of the time. However, I've never waited more than two minutes for a drink, unlike the Starbucks in Macy's at Ala Moana, where I will be waiting at least ten minutes if it's really busy. I wish more Starbucks were as efficient as the one in Pearlridge (uptown, located next to the food court Macy's side).

I came here because it felt weird that I didn't go to my usual spot to get coffee before I go surf. I saw one of the baristas there and thought she was the girl working the bar at fresh cafe. I didn't bother asking cause I have bad luck with those kind of questions. Anyways, it's like going to any starbucks minus the sitdown area because it is just a coffee stand. There are public seating areas in the mall but I wouldn't recommend using those for studying.

I like this Starbucks because it is in a convenient location. My son's school is down the road, I live in the area, service is usually "fast". The employees don't bother me and haven't been rude to me and that's a plus. I'm usually there for coffee and a place to sit for moments at a time, nothing more. This one is better than others around the island that I've been to also. There is wi-fi within this location, but it's not free (for those hoping). There is also outdoor seating. The shop is on a corner, so there's always people to see from here.

i love the staff at this location beacuse they are so friendly. They make an effort to remember your name. The best part of it all is that the always make my coffee the way i like it,.. because they already know what i want to drink before i order it!

Okay, so here's the thing... I LOVE Starbucks, okay. I am a self-proclaimed Starbucks superaddict. And I usually get super outstanding service at every Starbucks I visit. Until now. I have NEVER had such poor service at a Starbucks in my life! Including every kiosk and counter I have visited on neighboring islands or the mainland. First off, we weren't greeted. The cashier barely looked at me while I ordered... she was too busy carrying on a conversation with someone behind the counter... so of course, she got my drink wrong even though I repeated it twice... then proceeded to ring me up, even though I had another drink to order. When I finally got all of that settled, we waited FOREVER for our drinks even though there was only one customer in front of us, and it came out sub par. I'm sorry, Starbucks, but if ever there was a store you should revamp, it's this one! Retrain the workers here! Or heck, do away with them and get all new ones... ones that will be more pleasant next time! I don't mind a drink being not so great, but grouchy, unpleasant staff is horrible!

  • Jessie D.

This Starbucks... not really that well thought out. The lobby area is painfully small, especially for one that would be next to a BOOKSTORE of all things... This place does get messy (and loud... and obnoxious) mainly because of the mall location and the ease of loafing around in there. Very little electrical outlets, which, for the Starbucks faithful, is VERY necessary. Then, we get to the baristas. They're okay, at best, but when you have 3 of the better SB's on the island (Waimalu, Pearl City Shops, Anna Miller's) within a 5 minute drive of each other, it's easy to just skip this one and head to the other ones for your fix. "Two stars - meh. I've had better" definitely sums up this particular SB. Seriously, skip this one and head to one of the other 5 SBs in the Pearl City/Aiea area, you'll be better off.

The staff at this location is AMAZING! They are all enthusiastic & friendly & makes the visit a warm welcoming one. I work in the mall and my co-workers and I would rather take the long walk to this location just to be welcomed by their staff. When you walk into the shop you are immediately greeted with a "Good Morning", "Good Afternoon", or "Good Evening." Although you can get a cup of coffee from anywhere, having a cup from here really brings a smile to your face.

I come to this location in the morning when I'm working at the women's center since its the closest one. I was really sad when the Starbucks at the old Borders closed but happy that there is still one left at the mall. Located in uptown Pearlridge (Macy's side) near the food court, the line usually moves pretty fast or pretty much non existent when I go at 730am. There are a bunch of old folks who have some sort of breakfast club in the food court in the morning but they are mostly settled in by 730. Occasionally there will be one of them in line ordering 5 or 6 coffees but they order it brewed so it doesn't take long. I love their hot white mocha. I will also order it with caramel walls to make it extra sweet. The Baristas already know me and punch in my order as soon as they see my face. They are very pleasant and I always feel welcome here. I wish I could remember their names but I'm so petite I can't see their name tags over the counter but I do remember their faces and their constant smiles. They do look happy to work here. If I didn't have my dog Muppet, I wouldn't mind working here part time, but he wouldn't like me being away from home so much. Of course I have the gold card from being a frequent customer and occasionally get deals and coupons through my phone app. I average one free drink a month and try to use my special offers. One day I will buy one of their special Xmas gift cards. I wasn't ready to pay $250 for the last one, but someday...

I went to this location with my son this morning because we had an appointment at Pali Momi. There was no line, which was good because sometimes the lines at starbucks are forever long. My son was sad they didn't have blueberry bagels. The lady said they didn't have an shipments for blueberry bagels today. She suggested my son get a blueberry scone. So he got one and a kids hot cocoa. Of course my son didn't like the blueberry scone. He ended up giving it to me. (He's a very picky eater-doesn't like too many sweets). As I was eating the scone, halfway done, I'm choking on something hard. I thought it was the blueberrys BUT it was a frikken stem. RIDICULOUS! Good thing my son didn't like it, if not then he would've been the one choking on it. I gave this place three stars because of how fast the service was and how nice the workers were. But a stem in the scone!?? GROSS!!!!!

Can get busy on weekends because it is near Anna Millers and bed bath and beyond. Lot of people are this area for dinner. Oh yeah there is also bravo restaurant near by. Tonight I got the strawberry passion tea with Thai walls. Had to get my fix for the night. I made sure I didn't get it sweeten otherwise it would be too sweet. Try it !

Just like any other Starbucks on the island. The line is usually never long, and neither is the wait. Ordered a venti caramel iced coffee. It was okay, have had better. The cashier seemed a little annoyed with me because I accidentally said grande instead of venti, and after she wrote on the cup, I corrected myself. My bad.

This Pearlridge Starbucks (SB) is always a flurry of activity, no matter what time I seem to go. During my most recent visit, the holiday rush was in full swing and the mall itself was basically a madhouse. However, I will wait in the long-ish lines at this location simply because I can ALWAYS count on the Pearlridge SB to have my favorite "Hawaiian Oatcake" ... which, yes, can't be found at every SB location and can only be purchased in Hawaii (I haven't seen my favorite treat at any mainland SB location yet). The baristas here, however, are pretty quick, so even if I were to order a drink, I'm sure I would not have to wait for very long. Here's what I would recommend: "Hawaiian Oatcake": I usually go to SB not for drinks, but for this unique treat. I often buy two and stock them up for breakfast! These unique oatcakes are rich in fiber and bran, and they're studded with cranberries. While others have complained that the oatcakes are too dry, I find them to be yummy. They are more bland in taste--something that can be easily solved with butter--and I just pick out as many of the cranberries as I can to enjoy my treat. Definitely a great on-the-go snack or a breakfast option. This is something I always make sure to get whenever I visit Hawaii, and I often buy an extra one to take back to Cali with me for the next morning's breakfast. "Gingerbread Latte": Gingerbread cookies are some of my favorite cookies--as long as they don't have an overwhelming gingerbread flavor--but I was really surprised by how much I loved this latte. I ordered it at the recommendation of one of my friends, who said it was her favorite holiday drink. It features espresso with steamed milk and gingerbread flavored syrup and it's topped with spice-infused whipped cream and real molasses drizzle. I got my latte with soy milk and without the whipped cream, but I could still smell the fragrant gingerbread aroma from the covered cup. I was pleased to discover that the gingerbread taste was not overwhelming--I could taste the spices but it wasn't too strong--and I finished my tall-sized drink without a problem. Since I don't drink coffee often, I was a little concerned about how powerful the espresso would be, but because I got the smallest size, it probably didn't have too much of an effect. "Iced Skinny Mocha": Once when I know I needed caffeine to get me through the day, I asked the barista for a recommendation for an iced, chocolaty drink, and she suggested this "Skinny Mocha." It features bittersweet skinny mocha sauce, espresso and non-fat milk served over ice. I liked the sweet taste of the mocha sauce, and I asked for chocolate drizzle on top as well. I got my iced drink with soy milk instead to prevent an upset stomach, and I was relieved to discover that I was able to handle the caffeine just fine--no jitters (since I don't regularly have caffeine) and no upset stomach from the dairy. If I ever need a quick fix again, I would definitely order this "Skinny Mocha." "Iced Vanilla Latte": One of my friends is a die-hard SB addict and this is what she orders every, single time (unless PSL is back in season). This simple drink features rich, full-bodied espresso blended with milk and vanilla syrup and is served over ice. I tasted my friend's drink once and it had a subtle, sweet flavor, thanks to the vanilla syrup. However, the sweetness was very light -- perfect to get you going in the morning or for a simple afternoon pick-me-up. "Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino Blended Crème": Whenever I'm ordering frapps from SB, this one is my go-to and probably one of my favorites. I don't get this frapp very often (simply because I don't visit SB very often), but when I get something sweet, this is usually my choice. It features a creamy blend of rich mocha-flavored sauce, chocolaty chips, milk and ice and it comes topped with sweetened whipped cream and mocha drizzle. This drink is totally meant for chocoholics -- the chocolate taste is definitely strong (until you reach the bottom of the cup and it's more watered-down). I love mixing the mocha-flavored sauce in my drink and adding some of the chocolate powder to achieve a more chocolaty taste. But what makes this drink spectacular is the generous amount of chocolate chips studded throughout, which provide a welcome crunch. I always enjoy every single sip of this drink when I do order it.

It was really busy when I first went and the mall was very loud. The barista asked for my order and while I was telling her my order she interrupted me and said that she can't read lips and for me to speak up. I understand it's loud but you could've at least been nice about it. Then when I gave my order she told me they didn't have it and asked what else I wanted. Then she stared at the line behind me, looked back at me, and then rolled her eyes. I ordered something else, paid for my drinks and waited on the side. The guy who made my drink sarcastically said thank you and gave me a look. I swear this was the worst starbucks experience I ever had. I'm not sure if you guys were having a bad day but I will not be there ever again.

There's nothing like starting off your day with some fresh coffee and a few guilty pleasures. When I arrived here after dropping off my sis at work, it was still early. I needed some coffee. Starbucks was here to save the day! My weary eyes were cured with some drip coffee and my empty stomach was filled with a Maple Scone, Oatcake, and a Blueberry Bagle with cream cheese. Somehow, loading up on carbs is the best way to wake me up. Service was okay, but I don't understand why there was not just two cashiers instead of one cashier and one order taker. Parking can be a little hard during the early morning rush, but its not too bad if you're patient.

The location that I am reviewing is the one near the Cookie Corner of Pearlridge. Uptown, I believe? After eating at California Pizza Kitchen, my friends and I wanted to get Starbucks before going home. It was about 30 minutes before closing and I did not know what type of service I was getting myself into. I was delivered rude and sarcastic customer service during my stay at this location. While ordering, I accidently said my drink order wrong and there were two guys and a girl working, the two males were straight out laughing and discriminating me at my mistake. They were rude, unfriendly, and had a type of hostile attitude towards me. Ive also did some research on Yelp and found out that this particular location has been lacking the customer service than other Starbucks'. I feel like that I wont be shopping at this location again due to this service. I feel like that this team should be retrained on how to embrace the Starbucks customer service and deliver exceptional service. I felt really modified. So, I filled out a feedback form on the Starbucks website. Overall: Customer Service needs to improve and Traffic level can get pretty busy.

I hit up this Starbucks location whenever I am in the Pearl Ridge Shopping Center, trying to do some shopping whenever I need a change of pace from Hawaii Kai Towne Center, Koko Marina, and Kahala Mall shopping centers - possibly even Ala Moana. In any event, I like this Starbucks though, even though it's pretty crowded on the weekends. Normally, I just come here to chill out and recharge my iPhone when it gets low on the battery juice. I try to buy something small, just to patronize the establishment, but most of the time, they don't care if you are just there killing time and studying. I even sat down on the floor and they still didn't care. The location is basically next door to the Anna Miller's restaurant, Down To Earth, and the Jamba Juice section, but it's a small little cafe. The staff is quite enthusiastic and the service is pretty quick. I normally get the house blend, sometimes the blonde roast, but my favorite lately would have been the dark roast. I have tried to cut out the evil frappuchino's, just so I can lose a few, but it's always tempting to get one of those just because of the insane craving. Ugh. But yes, Starbucks is great for the aforementioned reason of just people coming into chill out and to work on their laptops, iPad, and the like. Almost like a social club / library with coffee amenities. I guess this is probably the thing of the future. There is a unisex restroom, but I never had to use it. There is another Starbucks location in Pearl Ridge shopping center, but it's just like a kiosk more than anything else. There is no seating area or anything. Almost like a McDonald's counter and nothing much else. That does suck a lot, especially when my iPhone is at 2% and needing a recharge really badly. Thank you Starbucks for letting me chill out here without pressuring me to buy anything and letting me juice up my iPhone and using your free wifi. You are awesome! Starbucks daily brews are amazing! A+

I actually like this Starbucks not because it is Starbucks but because of the workers. They never ever complained or grumbled with my complicated drinks from the secret menu, they would correct the spelling of my name on a brand new cup because my name was spelt wrong, and they would correct our drink if something was missing without being snobby. They are usually fun and great and recommending new drinks. Some remembers me as "girl who orders special drinks with a special unique name" :) Only once did I come across one grumpy girl which was two days ago. I guess because a line started piling up behind me and it started to get real busy that she got frustrated especially not being able to process my "free drink" on my app. She then told me it did not scan because it was expired. I told her "no, look at the date it says available until 6/17/13", it was 6/15/13 that day. I told her it says to enter the code given but she didn't, she got frustrated and just voided my transaction and in a grouchy tone said "your done!" I told her "don't give me an attitude!" and yes everyone around heard. 4 stars because this is the only Starbucks that remembers me even though I don't come too often until recently. Also because of friendly staff except that one experience mentioned.

The Good: * Service was good :) The people that work here seem nice and friendly The Bad: * The bathroom is unisex, and it's freaking disgusting. It smells like a man pissed all over the bathroom. Who knows... it could've been a woman that pissed all over the bathroom. The Weird: * This starbucks was the least "homey-like"... does that make sense? When the creater of Starbucks created... well, STARBUCKS. He wanted to create a home away from home for his target market. This Starbucks... did NOT feel like a "home away from home." Sorry, but my home doesn't have a bathroom that smells like piss all over the place!

Yes! This Starbucks is still open. Now that INspiration Xpress has taken over the Borders location, I will here almost everyday and multiple times for that matter. The employees are so friendly and wonderful. You never have to wait in long lines at this location. Much more convenient than the one by food court. Oh......and the coffee is always spot on!

THE BEST STARBUCKS EVER. Because they have the greatest crew. I agree with other yelpers when they say this place deserves more than 5 stars. This Starbucks (out of the three) is located on the first floor of the uptown phase next to Pretzelmaker and Dairy Queen. So 8-10 times its busy with a line. Since I started working in the mall back in 2006, I never really knew my caffeine tolerance til the wonderful baristas of this starbucks loaded me up with my daily fix. They knew me by name after a few months and have always greeted me with a smile, a recommendation here and there about new things they think I'd like, and most days, they'll know what I want without even asking. :) Now in my line of work, caffeine was an essential key to keeping my performance up. Needless to say, Mar + coffee = great customer service. lol. I was also introduced to espresso shots thanks to these fine baristas. It started slow with the triple espresso shot in a caramel frapp no whip. Man, now THAT'S what coffee is supposed to do to you if you intend on staying awake. Then one year, on a highly anticipated black friday, Mar was going to be MVP and work OPEN TO CLOSE... ON A BLACK FRIDAY. haha StarBucks here I come! It donned on me... why not 10 SHOTS?! So I asked, and they delivered... as soon as they were able to pick their jaws up from the floor. lol. They needed 3 venti cups? (see my photos). Lets just say I didnt sleep for 3 days. And I was fine with that! The only sad thing is that they dont have hot sandwiches anymore :(

3 girls behind the counter 3 customers in line 3 MINUTES LATER (3 FREAKING PEOPLE BEHIND THE COUNTER?!!) "Oh...did you want to order!" ...seriously?? Not exaggerating. 3 workers, 3 customers, 3 minutes before anyone takes the time to take an order...maybe the morning shift has all the smart workers. I don't know...

I love coming here and getting my coffee fix before work! The baristas make a conscious effort to remember you and the kind of drinks you like and order. I had my husband pick up my coffee once and he said they took a look at my Starbucks gold card and knew what I was having. He said that he didn't have to tell the barista my order; they just had to confirm it. Either I come here too often or they are just that good! Maybe the latter.

I looooooove this Starbucks location. First, majority of the employees there are courteous and genuine. When there was a problem ahead of me with a customer, an employee made an effort to immediately take my drink order, also timing was perfect, took about two minutes. This location is one of the reasons why I'm a gold card holder

My favorite Starbucks on island! Staff knows what they're doing and know how to pump out those drinks! Even when they're super swamped- they take time to greet us every time and ask about our baby! It's hard to find baristas who work with a sense of urgency while still maintaining a very friendly and interested attitude-- well done my friends!

  • Nicole K.

I have learned with Starbucks that it is all about the baristas. The menu is great, but no matter how delicious those pumpkin spice lattes or caramel machiattos are, your opinion of that location is a reflection of the service you receive. In my visits to this Starbucks location (Uptown Center), I have always received excellent service. They are friendly and attentive while also being quick to ring customers up. I was surprised to find that most of the reviews for this location comment on terrible service, but I am sure it all has to do with one or two bad baristas who, unfortunately, leave a bad impression on their customers. Because this is the only Starbucks at Pearlridge (Boy, I miss the old Borders!), there is a lot of foot traffic and lines here. It moves quickly though, so don't be afraid to stop and refuel for your shopping!

Location by Cookie Corner. Ordered before store hours so there wasn't much people waiting or ordering. They don't have paninis, then again they don't have a toaster. Totally forgot as I ordered my bagel... UGH. Hard bagels for breakfast. If I could have I would have walked to the other location for another bagel.

  • Clarissa L.

Be careful that you're charged correctly for the drink you get here, this is the one inside the mall near the elevator at center court Uptown. A caramel latte (hot) costs less than a caramel frappuccino (iced blended) and you'll get what you order, but you might just pay the higher price for it.

Irritated by my experience here. Waited five feet away from the counter and waited for someone to help me. The guy who worked there seemed to be doing his side jobs and when he finally turned around he look annoyed as if I was disrupting him from doing his side job. I didn't even look irritated or anything I was patiently waiting. After taking my order he asked if I wanted my receipt with my card and I said yes then made a face as if it was stupid choice for me to accept the request. Why ask if you're gonna make a face about it if I say yes? And what's wrong with getting your receipt? Very stupid. I was never treated like this at this Starbucks location before.

I like the staff and the fact it's right by Borders Book store! How can you go wrong? Their sitting area can get crowded. They are in a convenient area where one can meet up with classmates or have a business meeting. Lot's of parking, the sitting area is clean and comfortable.

This Starbucks is always busy. The staff is friendly and cheerful and gets the line moving along. This is just an ordering Starbucks, there's no place to sit and lounge except the shopping center tables nearby which are usually taken since its near the food court. There is another Starbucks in Borders if you want to sit down. Pastries and food sells out fast so get there earlier in the day if that's what you're looking for. ^_^*~

I actually go to the Starbucks by Anna Miller's more but this one is pretty good too. They are off by a stand right around the corner when heading towards the uptown food court side of Pearlridge. This place gets obviously busy during peak hour times especially in the morning when employees and customers alike of the mall are trying to get their coffee and caffeine fix for the day. The staff and customer service is good. I usually get the frappacinos myself whenever I go to Starbucks especially green tea with whipped cream. They don't really have any table or seating areas nearby so you'll have to go to the food court side if you want to sit in order to enjoy your drink or pastry or sandwich meal from Starbucks. You know how Starbucks is always right next to Jamba Juice, this one is right along the corner next to Orange Julius/Diary Queen and also in between by Pretzelmaker. Actually something from Pretzelmaker and Starbucks is an excellent combination and will surely keep you up and get you some energy for when cruising and shopping around the mall. 31 Yelps Review Challenge - October 2012, #11/31

Sure there were only four people to review this Starbucks before me, but for the first time in my Yelp career I am inclined to agree with them all. This location is pretty lame. The employees treat you like you are a bother to them. It's like they look at you in line and they say, "Great. Another customer. I'll never be able to finish telling my co-worker my funny story." I've been in here multiple times and it's always been the same deal. I've also witnessed the same bar guy, some hapa looking kid flirt with the girls that come in and when it's a guy's turn to pick up his drink he goes, "Hey. Your drink is ready." All the other Starbucks I've been to actually call your order out. Like Jessie D. said, there are a ton of other Starbucks within a stone's throw. So why bother with mediocrity?

I'm a fan, I love the starbucks caramel machiato, layered with one pump less sugar and non fat milk. Yup! The great thing about starbucks is you can customize your drink just how you want it. Their holiday flavors are coming out now like the pumpkin spice and the salted caramel. Yum! I like this location at Pearlridge, very convenient and every mall should have a starbucks. The cool thing is that before the center opens, pearlridge allows people to walk around the mall for exercise so I see a lot of senior citizens walking. After they walk, they get coffee at starbucks, perfect combo.

i love this starbucks! excellent service! my drinks are always made to perfection. their location is very convenient and its right by the food court. they are also very timely while making your drink(s) for you. i usually order drinks that i customize a lot, and they always seem to get it right. it doesnt matter if its a venti white chocolate mocha latte with 6 shots of espresso or a trenta raspberry (and/or strawberry) passion tea lemonade sweetened.
