Orchid Thai Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Nice place, very clean. The food was bland though. I ordered something from the menu that warned it was hot, but it had almost no spice. If you're looking for nice, spicy Thai food, don't go here. It was a waste of time.

one star for the papaya salad. nothing authentic about it, tasted americanized, ordered it Lao style extra spicy. was not spicy at all or Lao style.

Goodbye Souvaly, hello Orchid!! I had called up to get take out from Souvaly just to find out that they had closed... So I decided to try the orchid. I was not disappointed. Their pad Thai is leaps and bounds above Souvaly and the people there are soooooooo nice. I also got the yellow curry and the long rice noodle salad and would recommend both as well... Don't forget to get a side of sticky rice to complete the order! will definitely be making this my go-to take out place. Can't wait to try the pineapple fried rice and crispy noodles.

Good food with the right amount of spice.. Not into super spicy or just the opposite and you love to give your mouth a kick? No worries they adjust the spice to your liking without changing the flavor of the food. Price is decent, portions adequate. Location ok. Clean tables... Glasses: might want to take a second look, some of our wine glasses had lipstick marks 2/10) other glasses and utensils where clean. Byob is a bonus- there is are stores that are near by.

Came here tonight to get my thai food fix. We ordered the fried chicken which was okay, it wasn't something that I would order again. The chicken pieces were a decent size but the flavoring was not there. It was bland but the sauce that it comes with did help a little. Then we ordered the curry pad thai, spicy and the soyu pork. The curry pad thai was amazing even though I mention to the waiter no bean spouts when I ordered and also again when he went over our order. The flavor of the curry was there even though it was spicy. But it wasn't overpowering and it slowly creep up on your taste buds. The soyu pork was tough and dry.

Just had takeout of pad Thai with tofu and an order of spring rolls. Pretty yummy! I want to eat in next time and order more variety next time.

The food was your normal Thai food but nothing real outstanding. The design is lovely tho and would be nice for parties too.

Food was great. We ordered the pad thai, eggplant with tofu, basil chicken. Love that they opened a Thai restaurant right down the street from me. Lots of parking and we came early to beat the crowd.

A very fancy Thai place without the fancy prices. Keeping this simple. Service-superb. The employees looks genuinely excited to share their cuisine and serve customers. Food-fantastic. Flavorful and definitely got a little kick on a medium spicy dish that was just right. I didn't feel cheated out of spiciness and it wasn't ridiculous. Portions are a little on the smaller side for Thai restaurants, which is good because Thai places usually have obnoxious amounts of food which I don't necessarily care for. This one? Just right. Ambience-awesome. Very tidy and well decorated. Still a new restaurant at the time of this review so everything still has that new restaurant shine. Hours-strict. They close at 9 even on the weekend and they mean, close the restaurant at nine. When we dined there last we saw several customers and parties being turned away at 8:40. It would be helpful if they indicated somewhere when their last seating is. Only downside really, but enough to remove a star.

As I'm chronically early, I am seated a full 25 minutes prior to my dinner reservation with a friend. The server brings me menus and cold water and I wait. What better way to spend my time than catching up writing reviews on Yelp! This is a clean and well-appointed restaurant with tables arranged to seat 4, but they can easily be put together to accommodate larger parties! Happy and upbeat ambiance. A few minutes later my server comes back to inquire if I'd like to order an appetizer before my dining companion arrives and I politely decline. Everyone is very friendly and pleasant. Food smells good and I can't wait for my friend to arrive so we can order food and dig in! We order green papaya salad, yellow curry with potatoes, onions, carrots and chicken, and a new item on the menu of noodles in curry with beef. Everything is fresh and delicious. Definitely a restaurant to enjoy again!

This thai place is alright compared to other places around the area. The place is a bit tiny. When we got there it was apparent since we had to wait. Didnt take to long. Servers were nice . Now to the food. I give it a four and a half. The nom tok could have been more spicer for my liking. The pad thai was just too sweet. It was alright.

Just ate here recently after seeing the 20% discount listed in the Midweek. Ordered the Laab, Laos Curry, and the Curry Pad Thai. Except for the Curry Pad Thai, the food was OK. However, the Curry Pad Thai is worth trying -- a new twist on an old menu item. I'll be going back to try other items soon, but for now I say give it a go! The food is primary Laotian which is pretty much the same as Thai, but you'll spot some differences here and there. Actually, many of the "Thai" restaurants in Hawaii are actually Laotian, so maybe you won't spot them... Wait staff was very friendly. Parking is ample in the Waimalu PLAZA Shopping Center. NOTE: This is the shopping center with Safeway, and Orchid Thai is located next to Paesano's. Try not to confuse this shopping center with Waimalu Shopping Center where Siam Kitchen Express is!

In typical Hawaii fashion, a new restaurant opens up and there's a line out the door of the public waiting to try it out. We were very lucky to beat that line by just 15 minutes at 645 tonight. TIP ONE: It's BYOB at the moment so mosey over to SWAM and grab yourself a beer or some wine. Maybe it's just that I haven't had thai food in awhile, but the prid khing beef and basil chicken popped with so much flavor that my husband and I couldn't stop eating although there was nothing but scraps left on the table. As I was slurping down the sauce, I noticed that the spice lies in the bottom. Make sure you take a spoonful of that deliciousness and mix it in with the rice. If not, it might seem a little milder than usual. I'll be honest, I was expecting a little more out of the sticky rice. It seemed like it has been sitting in its basket for awhile. I would suggest considering packing the baskets when they're ordered instead of having them ready to grab. (If you do that already, then maybe I'm just not very good at my sticky rice knowledge) Unfortunately, we couldn't try it right away because we didn't receive our plates and silverware right away. I would like to say that this is probably "new restaurant" jitters, and I expect that to smooth out once they get into the groove of things. I thought it was a little confusing that every employee seemed to be hovering over each table. I have noticed this communal waiting at a few new restaurants lately, and I think the flow of the service becomes a little disjointed and inefficient this way. For example, one lady asked if we wanted dessert. We asked for a menu to check it out. However, another lady came a few minutes later with our check. A third lady came and asked if we were done with the menu given to us by the first lady so she could use it....Once again, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and return for an update.

So we went there on Mother's Day...Yeah, we knew what we were getting ourselves into! Ordered Crispy Fried Chicken, Pad Thai Noddles, Green Curry, and something else I forgot. Of those things we only recieved the Fried chicken which was delicious! But time passed and continued to do so. Waiting a whole hour.... The boyfriend was pissed so we paid for the chicken and left. They were extremely busy and apologetic for that. Not bad but the experience could have been better.

Tried this place twice and is a new thai place-very good 4.5 stars. Military in uniform 20% off. No uniform on, but military 10%

Stoked to see a new place taking a chance in Aiea/Pearl City area! Thai Food! After doing a quick shop at Safeway I decided to do take out. My first take out, I ordered the basil chicken with a side of rice. It was a nice amount of spice, it could of been spicier since it said "hot". I guess every basil chicken recipe is different. I didn't mind this one. The second time I ordered take out, I wanted to try the pad thai with pork. You have your choice of protein to add. I liked it, but I wasn't in love with it. Located in the same parking lot as Safeway, right across the lot. Staff is friendly and greets you upon entering. Service was fast since I walked in and ordered it. Place is casual. Newly renovated. Still clean. I would try something else the next time. I wish they could have a daily special like main dish of the day (i.e. panang curry or basil chicken with jasmine rice) and the sides will always be green papaya salad and meekrob for a set price of $7. If they had that, I would there more often! ...just wishful suggesting.

We tried some takeout from this new place. Nice setup and seems to always have a decent crowd dining in. Ordered chicken larb and tom yum soup. Both were very fresh (not oily, not salty) and well made. They offer spiciness in mild, medium, and hot.... Note the the mild is truly mild. Next time we'll be ordering medium for sure. I liked that there was really no wait time as the staff seem to tend to the customers quickly. Comfortable ambiance; nicely setup. Will try some other dishes next time. Can't wait! Update 8/27: went back for more takeout. The mild curry has a kick so unlike the dishes I initially reviewed, stick with mild on the curries. Had red curry and the fried chicken... Delish!!!!

Nice greeting to start, prompt and friendly service throughout made it an enjoyable dinner. We ate simple tonight with two appetizers and noodles. The calamari was crispy and tender, came with a sweet chili sauce that matched perfectly. First time ordering the stuffed chicken wings, it was delicious. Had a awesome crunchy outside, the stuffing was soft, tender and tasty. This had its own peanut sauce that was very good. Noodles was a tofu pad siu ew that went great with the appetizers. One item here that many would find surprising for a Thai restaurant is their hot pho noodles. The broth is excellent, even better than a lot of Vietnamese places. This bowl of yummy will not disappoint and another plus is that the price is quite reasonable.

I live right up the street from Orchid Thai and had gone there tonight for a family dinner. The atmosphere is of a typical Thai restaurant, but I was surprised to see decent decor in a restaurant in pearl city (you guys know what I'm talking about!). We were seated right away and the server came quickly to take our order. One thing I found odd was that she didn't ask for slickness level for our foods. I normally love that they ask because I like some of my foods spicier than others! But I guess it's not their style? We ordered four things: Papaya salad: Pretty good! The papaya could have been crunchier, but I loved the sauce/dressing. I usually like my papaya salad more on the spicy side, but, like I mentioned earlier, they did not ask for spice level Yellow curry: Typical yellow curry with TONS of veggies! Garlic curry: This one is an absolute must try for garlic lovers!! I'm not a crazy garlic fan, but this curry was really good. It had just enough garlic for the taste to be strong, but not overpowering. I definitely recommend this. Tom yum: I. Love. Tom. Yum. And there's was very good. On top of the brother being flavorful, there was also a lot of seafood! I hate when people are stingy with their meats and seafood. I know times are hard, but you have to cook to impress! And I was definitely impressed by them. The service was also friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back!

I've eaten here 5-6 times already and it has become one of our favorite Thai restaurants. Pearl City has lots of Thai places (Champa, Souvaly, Siam Garden, etc) and this is the newest one. Here are my Top Three Takeways that may help you decide to spend your hard-earned $$ here. Top Three Takeways: 1. It's very clean and modern. The silverware is heavy and not cheap. The furniture is also nice. It's definitely not dirty-feeling like some places in Waimalu or Pearl Kai. 2. The Look Fun Pad Thai is really tasty. Ok ok, I know I get a thumbs down for liking such a common dish such as Pad Thai, but hear me out. This version has those gigantic chow fun noodles and the flavor is not as sweet as regular pad thai. Also, if you order it hot/spicy it'll really have a good kick to it. The curries are on the bland side though; that's why they lose a whole star. We've ordered four different kinds and they are on the watered down side. More coconut milk would certainly help. 3. Fast and good service. They keep the place clean, my water glass full, and the food/check comes quick. The wait staff is friendly and professional. There you have it. My wife and I will continue to eat here frequently, especially with all the ridiculous road construction on Kam Hwy at night. I hope this review helps.

I'm a huge Thai food fan. I've ordered takeout from here twice, so I feel qualified enough to write a review. I'll start with the pros first: Pro: Best Thai tea hands down! (Ok, maybe in Pearl City/Aiea) Ive had my fair share of Thai tea and much of it comes across tasting like chocolate milk. I usually order it to go, and by the time I drive back home I've already finished my cup. I like their Thai tea better than Thai Souvaly, and Thai Village in Waipahu. Another Pro: the look fun pad thai is different but GOOD. I really enjoyed that dish, as well as their traditional Pad Thai. While others have complained that it is too sweet, I actually like the sweet taste. I've eaten some places where the pad thai was bland. Another Another Pro: So far, I've only ordered takeout, so while I can't complain about the small interior space, but I can say that they always have my takeout ready when I arrive, which is AWESOME. In addition, the ladies are always friendly and I never feel bad about spending my hard earned dollars here. Con: I'm not a huge fan of their curry, but then again I'm prejudice against any curry lacking bamboo shoots.. Overall, I like this place. I would bring my friends here if they were in town visiting, and that says A LOT. The portions are good, and so is the food. I gave them -1 star because its not my favorite Thai place in Pearl City/Aiea.. but that can always be changed.

We love this place! We had the cucumber salad, the spring rolls, the panang curry with chicken, sticky rice and the banana rice cake with ice cream. The salad was refreshing and tasty. Everything else tasted fresh and delicious. The food came out very fast! The waitress was adequate. All this for $38.58 plus tip. We'll be back!

As I continue along on my quest to experience each Thai restaurant on this little rock...I had to check out this new player in the game. Open on New Year's Day, we really did struggle to find a good Thai place that was open. Heard from a few people that this little Aeia place was decent and they were right...it was decent. We ordered: Tod Mun Papaya Salad Lao Style Stuffed Chicken Wings Vegetarian Spring Rolls Tom Kha Pad Thai Shrimp and Pla Lad Prik We had mixed levels of service...weird right? But since we had 2 separate servers, it seemed like we had the "good cop/bad cop" of food service. One of our lovely servers seemed very new and hard of hearing. It started out as cute having to repeat orders or questions but it quickly became a bit challenging when she wasn't able to accurately describe dishes. My favorite foodie friend doesnt eat meat and several of the dishes that she delivered to us had pork or some sort of meat even though we mentioned we had dietary preferences. The 2nd server was more knowledgeable. Over all, the food was OK...just OK. Nothing to write home about...but enough to write Yelp about. .

we went here and got the yellow, green & red curries. We also got fried rice and phad thai. All were good, but not great. I'd say phuket thai is a little better. We only get takeout, but service seems good. Def going back becasue we live so close and prices are reasonable.

Tonight we had the panang curry with chicken, chicken larb, and pad si-eiw. Let me start this off by saying their panang curry was soooo good. It was thick, came with sticky rice, and was super flavorful. A lot of places water theirs down. Definitely need to order this again! I got their chicken larb (medium spicy) and it was delicious. I've gone to places where they over flavor the larb with citrus and it just kills everything good about larb. This was spot on and the heat was perfect. My kids can be pretty finicky, so the idea of going to eat Thai food didn't bring on much enthusiasm. I ordered them the chicken pad si-eiw which came with the usual broccoli. The flavor was right, and the noodles weren't mushy like we have experienced before. Best of all...my finicky eaters loved it. They recently opened and the decor is very pleasant, ambience is great, and the waiters/waitresses are very polite. My family and I loved this place and I think we will have to add it to our list of to-go dinner spots.

They have the grand opening till 8/31/2014 which gives 10% off. Food is pretty good. Prices are average for a Thai restaurant. Customer service was great. I had the pineapple chicken curry, very generous with the pineapple, and chicken was very tender. We also had the fried chicken, crispy noodle, veggie spring rolls, and papaya salad. Very good! We'll be back!

After church my family and I were looking for some place to have lunch at that was nearby. My mom who loves Thai food suggested we try Orchid Thai out since it's new and close by. Place was quite clean and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable of their menu. The food on the other hand I was very unimpressed with. First of all, the prices of the food were 2-3 dollars over prices you'd see at other popular Thai restaurants. Our appetizers were the chicken satay and spring rolls. For the price we were paying we were expecting some awesome flavors or large portions. The satay had just 4 skewers and there were 4 little pieces of spring rolls. We also ordered the pineapple fried rice and there wasn't a single piece of pineapple to be found in the rice. Flavors of our other dishes were okay but nothing special. Won't come here again, nice restaurant but quite over priced with nothing special. Came here 3 months ago maybe they have changed things up a bit.

Great place for authentic fresh thai food. Everything is tasty, full of flavor, and worth your buck. The papaya salad is refreshing, the Thai noodles are on point with texture and sauce, and the calamari was fried to a light crispy goodness. I can't wait to try other dishes here.

We went there tonight because we saw their ad in a local newspaper offering a 20% discount from the grand opening day to the end of this month, August. Even with that generous discount, I still have to say that this place is pretty costly comparing to other Thai restaurants on the island because the portion is so tiny. On taste side, as we are immigrants from Thailand and really know what authentic Thai food is supposed to taste like, we have to say that none of what we ordered today (Spicy fish, Thai style fried rice, Fried chicken) were really great except for sticky rice. The service was also sub-standard. Servers are all very friendly, but inexperienced and unprofessional. Nobody refilled our water until we were almost leaving the restaurant. Food were taking so long to come out. And what we've never seen before is that a check come to our table before we got the last dish! I also agree with the previous comment on their lack of smoke handling. They have to keep their front door open in order to let the smoke out resulting in such a hot and sweating dining experience. MEH.

WOW what a great find! Came in and it was very busy, but none the less the food was still very tasty and the service was quick. The lady's working there wear cute traditional skirts that makes it feel like you're really in Thailand. Try the ong choy and rah nah. Can't wait to go back and try more!

love the spice.. when asked for hot, its not the hot that burns your mouth on contact, but the hot that adds up and gets you sweating by the end of the plate.. dont try the shoyu pork though.. not tender and flavor was 50/50.. the curry has been on point and the larb is delicious..

We tried this place out last night with the family. They offer take-out, phone orders and catering. Since this was my first time here, I will not give 5 stars. I really enjoyed the flavor of the Cucumber Salad (shredded cucumber, onion, parsley, tomatoes, and sauce). I will reserve the right to increase the rating once I get a chance to sample more dishes!

Great to have a Thai Restaurant in Pearl City. Had dinner with my family and everything was delicious. Service was great and I love the decor in the restaurant. Will definitely be back to try more dishes on the menu. Tried the Pad Thai noodles with shrimp, Panang curry with chicken, eggplant with pork, Green Papaya salad, and got to have sticky rice.

I was super excited to try the new thai restaurant that opened up Aiea, but was very disappointed. I ordered four different items and only enjoyed one of the appetizers. The fried fish cakes are tasty and I do recommended them. However the papaya salad was the worst papaya salad I have ever had. There was no real flavor to it and it only consisted of shredded papaya and tomatoes. Larb was bland as well and the fourth item that I ordered didn't look like the picture at all. I think there was a miscommunication with my order. Also how do you not have mango and sticky rice for dessert? Needless to say I wasted $43.00 and will not be returning. I recommend Siam Kitchen Express if you want delicious Thai food in Aiea.

It's always good to have a new restaurant in the neighborhood. Especially in this shopping complex where there are tons of parking. We ordered the Larb w/pork, spring rolls, pad thai w/chicken, and eggplant w/pork. All dishes were mild because my girlfriend can't handle the heat. Spring rolls were excellent. Other dishes were missing something, not sure what it was but a little bland to my liking. I do like that they have the thai chili powder readily to make the dishes more spicy. I would say it is one of the better thai restaurants in the area. I will definitely try here again and order dishes spicy.

  • Lena B.

Calamari would have been excellent, if the meat wasn't cold like it just came out of the fridge. Spring rolls were mediocre at best. Number 25 with ground chicken and long beans was too rich. They asked if we wanted boxes to go. I had no intentions of eating any left overs but felt guilty for wasting soooo much. The only good part of our meal was byob and no cork fee.

First time try, I orderd pad thai and look fun pad thai for togo. The noodle of pad thai are so dry and not much sauce. Not much flavor in it also . It is a little bit disappointed. I don't think I will come back again :(

I am never eating here again. I ordered noodles but was unable to eat the dish because it had egg, and I explained to the waitress that I am allergic to egg. She stated, "well you still have to pay because what are we going to do with that dish now?" She started blabbing that they already made the food and I have to pay for it. I didn't touched my food at all, paid and left.

Located in Waimalu Shopping Center (next to Paesano) is an easily overlooked thai restaurant called Orchid Thai. Had my friend not recommended this place to me, I may never have found this hidden gem. Being that it's in the shopping center, there is tons of free parking. Big plus for any dining experience. We walked in at about 6:00 pm. There was only one party of 3 at the time. Questionable! Eh, it's still early...don't let that stop you from giving this place a go. We were quickly seated by a very friendly woman. I must give her much credit. Her friendly demeanor really made my experience here wonderful. She had such a loving smile and positive soul. After looking through the menu, my friend and I decided upon the pad si-eiw with shrimp and green chicken curry with sticky rice. Oh, and don't forget the thai iced tea for me! My staple at any thai restaurant. Pad Si-Eiw - Delicious! Very tasty...they put some kind of seasoning on top that makes it so flavorful. Very generous serving...my friend looked as though he hadn't even touched it at the end of our meal. Green Curry - Yummers! Just a hint of spiciness to it. Enough to give you a kick, but not too much to leave your mouth feeling like someone lit a fire inside of it. You go away feeling satisfied instead of in pain...exactly what food should do for you. Definitely get it with a side of sticky rice...a MUST for thai curries. The serving of green curry is quite generous as well. I left with another meal for another day. Thai iced tea - Very good! It comes out brownish in color. They put the condensed milk on the top and you swirl it around to give it the creamy orange color that thai iced tea should be. I always let it sit for a bit before drinking it to let it get really cold. Tastes better like that for me. I really enjoyed theirs, though. Not watered down at all like other places I've tried. A little pricier than most other thai places, though. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and am definitely coming back one day to try other items on their menu. At first glance, they are a little pricier than other thai restaurants, but their servings are very generous and you will leave with leftovers...so the price is really for two meals, which isn't bad at all.

This restaurant is fast becoming our family favorite. Standard Hawaii style Thai dishes, they will make dishes more spicy if you ask. Our favorites include the Basil Chicken, a Green Curry, and Vegetable Spring Rolls. Sticky rice available. The dessert menu is limited to tapioca served warm unless you asked for it chilled, coconut ice cream, or banana or taro rice cake.

I had a bad Thai experience a couple years back but Orchid Thai has made fall in love! If you ever go here you NEED to try their stuffed chicken wings! You will die a thousand deaths, that's how good it is. I always get the same thing, Panag Curry. So good and so creamy! Thankfully, this is the same owner as Thai Village so the recipe and menus is exactly the same! I've ate at the Thai Village in Kunia and in Waipio, both keep the dishes consistent.

Orchid Thai Restaurant is a new hot spot in the Aiea area. The flavor is accessible to newbies to Thai food since the spiciness is comparably lower than other Thai restaurants. The seating area consists of tables of 4 which can be combined for larger parties (18% gratuity added for parties of 6 or more). The menu offers the typical Thai dishes; curries, soups, fried rice, noodles and other delights. There are 3 desserts to choose from. The renovations were tastefully done considering the space was formerly a dry cleaning shop for many years. A few caveats: The restaurant is still working through the kinks of being a new restaurant. Bear with the service as they bring you menus, utensils and plates after your food arrives. It is well worth the wait. And they are trying, perhaps just figuring out logistics and how to keep up with the demand of a dinner crowd. To name a few quirks, the dining area can get smokey when the kitchen is firing it up. The entire restaurant seats 7 parties of 4, and can combine 3 tables for a larger group by the large television screen. There was a 20 minute wait for our party's order (group of 4, curries, Thai Ginger soup and noodles). The restaurant staff worked tirelessly to keep up with a full restaurant of Sunday crowd. Give this restaurant a shot for its friendly service and accessible flavors for newcomers to Thai food.

Meh... This place is ok, needs to out a little love into their food. Their pad Thai did not have any cilantro or peanuts, the papaya salad was boring, everything we ordered seemed to be the same brownish color. I hope they read this and put a little more effort into the food. I wanted it to be better.

I was greeted by a friendly waiter, however after I was seated the waitress must have thought I was invisible as she walk to the table next to me and asked that customer if everything is fine. 10 minutes later and no one to take my order, a couple is seated behind me and the waitress ask them if they'd like anything to drink or any appetizers. Hmmm, I am invisible. After flagging down the waiter, the waitress finally comes by to take my order. I like my food very spicy, Thai Hot. However the waitress never asked me if I wanted it mild medium or hot. I ordered the curry pad Thai and spring rolls. I must say that the food is half-decent. Nothing to rave about but it was okay, the spring rolls need to be eaten right away. When it comes out, the outside wrapper is nice and crispy but after about 5 minutes, it gets soggy. The curry pad Thai had a good taste but you can't really taste too much of the curry. Last complaint...I had to go to the counter to ask for a box and my check. Yes the place was a little busy, but it's like they chose who they wanted to cater to.

The staff here is great and the food is delicious! There are some unique dishes that you will not find at other Thai Restaurants on the island. Their Thai Curry Noodle is by far one of my favorites. Picture Pho but with a Thai Curry Broth... Amazing!

Daughter had the pho special, she loved it. I had green curry with tofu, sticky rice and long rice salad, all delicious! One of my favorite Thai restaurants! The staff is attentive and friendly!

Excellent food, clean and tasteful decor, fast and friendly service. First time here, and this is instantly our new favorite Thai joint in island. We devoured the food, and still have heaps of leftovers. Their Som Tom is on point!
