Ohana BBQ & Sushi Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Very disappointed. I ordered the ahi sashimi salad expecting to get a bunch of greens and sliced up ahi. To my dismay, I got small sliced up cucumbers, carrots, and cabbage. It was portioned off in bite sizes. The ahi was so, so. Went in hungry, left hungry :(

Just the array of menu items from Korean to Japanese to Local meant we had to go here for lunch. I think only three people work here and it takes some time for the food to be made. But it is cheap and the food is great. Don't be scared off by the diner setting - this is the place to eat. Located in the awesome asian food bonanza mini-mall, this is pretty good option. We had the miso combo (with fried rice and gyoza), the chicken katsu curry udon, the bento with garlic chicken and chop jae, and the tempura udon. All really good dishes and plenty to share. With three drinks, the total came to $36!! Hard to beat this place. Feels like they'll make anything for you.

Love the spicy ramen. Good flavor and good burn. Cucumber Kim chee one of the best I've had

The #1 combo is my absolute favorite! You get a handful of sides along with the entree. Sushi could use some work, but is definitely acceptable for that quick fix. The place looks really clean, and their extensive menu can satisfy all. Bravo!

Tonight I wanted to try a different take-out place. On my drive home I was thinking Palama Market in Waimalu Shopping Center. Unfortunately the prepared food counter was closed. So I started strolling down towards Zippy's. I came upon Ohana BBQ & Sushi so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered a big bone Kalbi for me and the Ohana combo for the wife. As I was waiting, I yelped the place. Cool! 4 stars. I asked the man who handed me my order: "Do you know what yelp is?" His reply: "Yelpis?" Cute! Anyway he and his wife both bowed politely as I left - extra cute points! Bottom line: The food is good - not great but I'm giving extra points for the humbleness of this couple. Awesome!

Waimalu Shoping Plaza has a lot of good places to eat and Ohana BBQ is no exception. This establishment has 2 counters. Sushi and BBQ. On this particular day and time sushi was just not gonna cut it for me so I wandered to the BBQ section. The Menu is pretty much Korean with the exception of Hamburger Steak. While talking to myself, saying..."Oh, they have hamburger steak", I hear the register ring and a very sweet voice saying: "would you like anything to drink?" Oh well.... Hamburger Steak it is. I've never had hamburger steak korean BBQ style. I even got to choose 4 sides. Mac Salad (of course), bean sprouts, cucumber kim chee, and the long rice thingy was my choices. It took a little while to get my order out but, it was worth the wait. 2 home made patties, gravy with sauteed mushrooms and onions on top. Mmmm. I also thought the price was reasonable $7-something + tax. Also, for all you breakfast lovers...I couldnt help but notice that breakfast is served ALL DAY. The Mr and Mrs was extemely nice and for that and to try something else.. Ill be back

My first time here, food was actually 3 1/2 stars, pretty good and worth the money. I had the Ohana Special which had a piece of everything, Kalbi, meat jun, BBQ chicken, bulgogi, one mandoo, breaded shrimp and four choice banchan. All this for $10. Everything tasted as it should. This place is really trippy though, it's like a Korean fast food place crashed into a Japanese fast food place and a Kozo sushi place was in the middle when this all happened, oh and they also serve breakfast all the time now. Not the greatest but I'll be back.

I had a terrible experience here! I do not recommend this place to my worst enemy! Well, maybe I would, hehe. We went for sushi and the one thing my mom loves when we have sushi is sashimi. First they told us they had it but after we ordered and they brought the rest of our food, they then told us they don't have sashimi. So my mom, trying to make the best of it, asked for tofu so she could dip it in her shoyu wasabi sauce. They asked if she wanted a side order, she said yes. They bring her a fried tofu with chili powder and some kind of sauce already on it. She was disgusted with the taste. We told them nicely that we did not want it, they did nothing but say sorry. I told the owner that I was not satisfied with their kimchee fried rice too. You could see that we hardly touched it yet she would not refund me. Their english is terrible! So communicating is also difficult! We left very dissatisfied and hungry with $40 less. :( Think twice before going here. We should have known that they weren't good when their restaurant was empty.

i work in the area and i go here when i feel like treating myself to some sushi. the portions are very generous and the staff are friendly. when compared to genki, the price is very reasonable. this is an all around great place with a relaxed slow atmosphere. i like how it is not crowded no matter how packed the parking lot is. it seems as though everyone by passes this place and goes straight to chan wa kam??? def a must try if you are in the aiea area and on a budget!!!!!!!!!

If I can remember correctly, this place use to be called Bar-B-Q King and was connected to Aloha Sushi. Just recently they changed the name to Ohana BBQ & sushi and added a lot more items on their menu. This is my favorite place to get local korean bbq. Maybe my taste buds are broken but this place is way better than Gina's and Soon's.

This is one of my favorite places to go for Korean BBQ. The looks of the place kind of threw me off, I like real clean places and this one wasn't that clean, but the food is awesome! They serve you quick too. The spicy Mahi Mahi is terrific. It isn't that expensive at all either. The service everytime we have been there is the same two people, a younger man and woman, and they are so nice. They are very kind to our kids also. This is def. one of my favorites

If there's one thing I definitely appreciate, it's SPECIALIZATION. Do just one thing and do it well and I'll be a lifelong fan. Ohana BBQ and Sushi seemed to be the antithesis of specialization, with their seemingly haphazard menu of Korean food, Japanese sushi, and ramen shop dishes. Will this lack of focus be their downfall? Let's eat. BBQ CHICKEN The BBQ chicken looks and tastes good. The meat is clearly marinated in more than just shoyu. I think there might even be a touch of ginger in there. The plate comes with 3 large thighs, so the portion size is great. It's not quantity over quality though, as the meat is tender and well-cooked. My only gripe is the lack of charring on the meat. When I go to a Korean BBQ spot, I want to see charring, like the meat was cooked on a hibachi. CONCLUSION: Nice flavors and good pieces of meat. A bit more charring and you'd have a strong contender. A solid 6 on the IBBSBCG (International Bob's BBQ Scale of BBQ Chicken Goodness). SPICY BBQ PORK You can tell a lot about a Korean joint from their spicy pork. First, is it spicy? In my vernacular, "Korean" = "Spicy" so if the spicy pork is not spicy then... Ohana BBQ's spicy pork indeed does have a nice amount of heat to it. Of course they have to tailor the level of spiciness to their customers so it wasn't crazy hot, but it was decent all the same. Second, is it truly BBQ'd? There must be visible signs of charring as well as a distinct BBQ flavor. Sugars in the marinade (and there better be a marinade) should be nicely caramelized. Ohana BBQ's spicy pork is properly BBQ'd. It has a nice bit of charring that even comes through the layer of spicy sauce. Like with the BBQ chicken, you get an ample portion of spicy pork. The plate was loaded with 3 large pieces (6" x 2") of meat. While the meat was not tough, I couldn't say that this was the tenderest BBQ pork I've ever had. Some chewing required. CONCLUSION: Good heat, good charring. Right on. FRIED MANDOO I was totally prepared not to get the fried mandoo. I usually don't get it at plate lunch Korean joints because it ends up being akin to an order of fries-- that is, nothing special. However, the pictures of the mandoo on Ohana BBQ's menu looked proper and I was swayed. In the end, the mandoo was not what I was expecting, but I did learn a valuable lesson. The bad news: Ohana BBQ's fried mandoo is your bog standard deep fried gyoza variety. I suppose I should not have expect more being just steps away from Palama market. The dough is thin and the filling is mushy. There's no differentiation between the different ingredients in the mandoo-- there's no way to tell what you're eating either by flavor or appearance. The worst part of it all is that I feel bamboozled. The pictures of the fried mandoo on the menu were COMPLETELY different than what was set before us. Ohana BBQ needs to change their pictures or update their mandoo to match (I recommend the latter). However, I did learn a good lesson from this otherwise disappointing experience. Here it is: Mandoo is priced according to how it's valued by the restaurant. If the mandoo is an afterthought like at most Korean plate lunch joints, then it'll cost $2-4, similar to an order of fries (an afterthought at most fast food joints). If the restaurant values the mandoo they make, then an order of mandoo will cost the same as the other main dishes on the menu (e.g. BBQ chicken, meat jun, etc.). Ohana BBQ's fried mandoo was $6, which is right in the middle. Next time though I'll know better than to have high expectations. CONCLUSION: Boilerplate mandoo (gyoza). A valuable lesson learned for the future though. BANCHAN Like most Korean plate lunch joints, Ohana BBQ lets you choose 4 sides for your plate. The choi sum had a nice flavor like it had been soaked in teriyaki sauce. The cucumbers were crunchy, and the kim chee was nice and red. Finally, the bean sprouts had a great seasoning, making them at once salty and sweet. CONCLUSION: Good banchan. SERVICE Service at Ohana BBQ was great. There was just one lady there at the time but she was very nice. CONCLUSION Ohana BBQ is strangely situated somewhere between your standard plate lunch joint and a "real" Korean restaurant. It looks like a standard plate lunch joint ala L&L, but if you dine-in, they bring out the "good china" (plastic dishes) and deliver the food to your table along with metal cutlery. They will also come by and refill your water as needed. As a result of this dichotomy, I spent our meal trying to get a bead on Ohana BBQ. In the end, I'm still confused about how I would classify this place. Nonetheless, I had a good experience at Ohana BBQ and would come back again. I'm still a bit put off by all of the different directions Ohana BBQ seems to be pulling itself (Korean, sushi, ramen, etc.), but I guess I'll have to sample those other items before I could really say whether the broad menu helps them or hurts them.

If there wasn't a variety of menu choices, I'd give this restaurant a 3. They have plates for reasonable prices! Mini bento= $5.49 (today i had the katsu, bbq chicken with fried zucchini or eggplant) comes with rice and side vegetables Mandoo soup, kook soo, seaweed soup, yuk gae jang sp?, etc= yummy! broth is a bit salty but tolerable. They also serve breakfast, sushi and plate lunch items. I have yet to try. They open very early which is a plus! I'm excited to taste their garlic chicken. I only wish the food tasted more authentic..meaning more sesame oil (korean food).

love coming for breakfast, best kim chee omelet, great prices, serving sizes, and variety. For a fast food diner it has ambiance- soft music in the background, fluorescent lighting covered with rice paper- never feel rushed and appreciate that I can have a conversation with people at my table without clanging sounds form the kitchen. Friendly staff. Good service.

This is the best Korean food I have had in a long time. I live in Kailua and Ohana BBQ is better than any Korean restaurant on the Windward side. I will drive across the island to eat here, any time! They let you pick out your vegetables as opposed to the little bowls of veggies traditionally served in American Korean restaurants when you dine in. Also, the food is delicious, the service is quick, and the staff is friendly.

Cute little hole in the wall spot with bazillion menu items! Korean, japanese, hawaiian, etc. Everything is very reasonably priced and the portions are great. We ordered the soon doo boo, curry katusu and korean bbq. All were yummy esp the soon doo boo. I raised an eyebrow and was hestitant to order because many places I've been to with so many items were mostly dissappointing but this place proves wrong. The soon doo boo tasted very authentic (mind u that I am korean) and their banchans (sid e dishes) were yummy. Will def come back again :)

I think that this used to be the old BBQ King, yes, been awhile. This place is cute. Has a sushi bar in it as well. The food selection that they had is very extensive. The girl taking out order was really nice. We grabbed a table and when our order was ready it was deliever to our table along with out drinks. I ordered the meat jun of course and the bf got the spicy chicken. Both were really good. Sometime when I order meat jun, the egg isn't cooked all the way or the mean is mushy but their meat jun is pretty good. Kim chi is a bit flat tho, used to eating the real fermented homemade kind.

Just stop by and enjoy the atmosphere and the great tasting sushi or BBQ (didn't try this time). There is no way you can't beat these prices! Sushi, BBQ, Boba/Bubble drinks, udon soups and they serve breakfast.

I've only been here once but I'm sure I'll be back. This is "two" restaurants "next to" each other: Ohana BBQ and Ohana Sushi! I ate the sushi. Think same menu as ninja or sushiman, and rockin awesome sushi for a place where the most expensive roll tops out at eight bucks. Their spicy ahi is in chunks and rather delicous. And also not *too* spicy, just the way I like it. You can never go wrong with the dynamite, which is a fresh hot shrimp tempura maki cut and loaded with spicy ahi on top with some green onion. Ono to the max! The unagi maki wasn't bad either. And guess what? The make came with edamame inside! For the price/taste/presentation ratio, I give uppity stars! Visa/Mastercard only, for checks above $10

Just one of many good food places in the infamous little 'Waimalu Shopping Center.' So far I have only come in here a couple of times, both times for the Korean BBQ side of the establishment, so I can't comment on the sushi. Both times I came here, I ordered the same thing: the Garlic Chicken plate. This garlic chicken is unique compared to, say, Fatboy's garlic chicken in that it actually has *gasp* bits of garlic on the chicken! Yes, those little garlic bits are the perfect spicy complement to the garlic sauce on top of the crunchy chicken. I usually order the mini plate, which still gets you a whopping 4 choices of sides. The sides are okay, but I get the feeling some of them have been sitting for.. days? Weeks? Months? Hehe, but I haven't died yet eating any of them, so they're fine. The decor and overall 'feel' of the interior feels a little dated and just a bit dilapidated. But don't let that fool you, the food here is definitely great and does not reflect the 'old' look of the dining room! If you appreciate classical music, they always play that too in here. P.S. don't forget to check out the 'curry chiken katus' sign, both on the outside and inside the place. For bonus hilarity, read it out loud in a moke-kine voice (Eh bah, get sum GOOD KATUs in heah)

Today we ate lunch here; my sister has some very good Oshinko Maki Shushi, I ate the BBQ Meat plate, and my mom Bi Bim Kook Soo! EVERYTHING WAS SO ONO!!!! My BBQ meat was perfect, not burnt, sweet, perfect amount! The vegetable were amazing as well! My mothers dish was great! She said it was just hot enough, but she could also taste the flavor and other vegetables as well! I recommend if you're in the Aiea area looking for a great Japanese food joint, come here! Always amazing

So where else but Hawaii can you find a place that has Korean food, sushi, pancakes, French toast, and loco mocos? The food is great and the service is friendly. We were in there for breakfast and it was pretty empty. The nice old gentleman that was hanging out there (owner?) kept us in coffee and took away empty dishes. The loco moco was great! They did a pretty good job on French toast, too. My brother in law got an omelet which was big and full of veggies. I would love to go back and eat my way through the menu!

My boyfriend and I love supporting Mom & Pop stores. Especially at places where the owners provide friendly and excellent customer service. Ohana BBQ & Sushi is a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant located at the Waimalu Shopping Center in Aiea, near Zippy's side. There's a good amount of parking in the area, but when it's rush hour for lunch or dinner, be prepared to wait in the congested parking lot. The lot has 2 entrances in on each side, but because it's a one-way loop around, the parking lot can get pretty chaotic...especially when someone is going the wrong way. tsk tsk. Trust me, it's happened before haha. We've become regulars here since the food is good, portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Plus, the owners are always super friendly and always greets us like we're old friends. They have a vast variety of food on their menu; including breakfast, Japanese and Korean food. They're open early on the weekdays at 5:30am and open at 6am on the weekends. And everyday, they close at 9pm. But because they're a family owned restaurant, they're closed every second and fourth Mondays. All I gotta say about that is good for them because they're hard workers that deserve some sort of break when they can. We've tried pretty much everything on their menu. Their breakfast items are cheap, but the food is nothing special. But I highly recommend their Spicy Ahi Don for lunch/dinner. The first time I ordered it, I was shocked by the size of it. For under $10, the huge portioning and taste is a steal! My boyfriend also likes ordering their Korean soups.

You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is wonderful what ever you order. It is one of our favorite places. And usually we spend around $60 but it feeds a family of 5, and we get sushi platter and BBQ chicken and beef with lots of vegetables. Owners are wonderful, excellent customer service.

My husband and I came here looking for a good Korean place to eat that is close to home. We finally found one! He had the hamburger steak( I know not Korean food at all) which was excellent. I had the spicy pork which was so tender and tasty. The service here is also great, so friendly. This is our new place, I can't wait to come back.

Came down here for a quick dinner before a late-night get-together in Aiea. I'm rarely down in Aiea, so my friend recommended this mom-and-pop Korean bbq place. I was just so blown away by the prices! I ordered the kimchi ramen combo for $6.95, which also comes with four pieces of gyoza. I suspect that they use instant ramen flavor packets because the green onions floating around in my soup looked suspiciously like dried green onions. The gyoza was okay--I couldn't make out why the pork was so white. Everything tasted pretty good though, so I can't complain. They did forget my kimchee for my kimchee ramen (haha) at first but they apologized and gave me an extra helping on the side. So generous! My friend ordered the soft tofu soup. Also came with a large serving of rice, long rice, macaroni salad, kimchi, and corn. The menu is huge here. They should clean it up a bit. It might make it easier on indecisive people like me!

Wow, as many times I have eaten here, I cannot believe I failed to write a review. Especially as I was such as a big fan for a long while because it was such a good deal. The food is decent but the price was excellent = good deal. But I am beginning to feel that the prices are going up quickly. I could be wrong. Let's get to the food. I always order Korean, and the the sushi is decent for Korean made sushi. I stick with the Korean food and for the most part, everything is good. I heard a friend say that this restaurant did have an off day with some inedible meat, so it seems one could have an off visit. I suggest staying away from the ramen. Korean have a different understanding of this. I means instant noodles. Unless you want this, don't do it. Love the super friendly owners.

Found this place off yelp and was a little skeptical about it. Got lost tryna find it off the GPS. I was led to Waimalu shopping center and couldn't find it only because the place looked dead and had no light signs whatsoever. When you first walk in, you see photos of bubble drinks and photos of hand rolled sushi and you would think that's all they sell. They have booth seating and the place looks like a mini dong yangs. They have a giant menu plastered against the wall and they sell sushi, korean plates, sides, noodle soups, and boba drinks. I did a takeout and the wait wasn't to long. I ordered a spicy ahi donburi and a plate called an Ohana special? It had meat jun, BBQ chicken, mandoo, BBQ beef, shrimp tempura and kalbi. They had generous sides of Mac salad, bean sprouts, kim chee and those long rice noodles! The plate was packed and over flowed but had no rice underneath because they put the rice in a much smaller container but the rice portion is unreal and generous! I'll be back here again. The spicy ahi is creamy and has the right hint of spice to it. I'll be back to try new things

This place confuses me. It's one of those places you go when you can't make up your mind, and want to eat EVERYTHING: sushi, brunch, ramen, Korean BBQ, whatever! I had the kimchi ramen. Honestly, it tasted like they took a pack of shin ramyun, and threw some kimchi and egg on it. I wasn't too impressed. I decided against giving them 2 stars because my friend ordered sushi and was raving about how good it was. Plus the kid serving us was pretty spot on with his service. I think it may have been a mistake to come here for what I ordered, so I may have to re-review once I try the Korean BBQ stuff.

  • Berna G.

Food was terrible! Price of a regular plate but the size of a mini & yes everything in that plate was so little! The meat jun had no taste, you can't choose your sides like other Korean places, the meat was also somehow tasteless, let's just say everything had no taste & that's exactly what my boyfriend said & he is not a picky eater. He eats anything! & I've never heard him complain so much about his food! This was our first & last time here... Such a sad place to be selling Korean food because we love Korean food. Never again...

This was my first time going there and I ordered the ohana special which was $14.00 which is usual for most Korean BBQs for a combination plate. What disappointed me was how small the portions were. Normally the plates come with 4 vegetable sides, my sides were so ridiculously small. One of my choices was shoyu potatoes and they lady gave me TWO pieces! I believe she was the owner. Normally 2 pieces is for a mini. I was so upset I asked the lady is that all I get for paying $14, can I please have more potatoes, she said no sorry that's all it comes with. Then I finally get my food and the meet portions were pathetic. Horribly small pieces. One of each, it really did look like a mini plate. All I can say is I was very unhappy and will never go back. Rip off. And service could have been better.

My first time here where in the world have I been? This should have been my 10x! Bento was so Ono! And cheap prices. I had the BBQ chicken, zucchini and fried shrimp all very delicious. Gyoza is frozen type so-so will skip that next time. Most yummy Korean sushi ever...will get two of those next time! Better food than zippys and cheaper too what's not to like?!?

My wife and I used to eat here every week for about a year. The soon do bu is fantastic; huge and filled of goodies. The banchan is also good. The price for the soon do bu is awesome at $10 which includes four choices of banchan. What stopped us from eating here when we were regulars? The food quality over time went down. Down pretty bad. We started to get soon do bu with tofu was sour and spoiled tasting, the potato banchan also tasted very old and fermented. This is compared to when it's fresh and delicious. The difference is huge. The potato banchan would also be really slimy when old. Sometimes the sushi fish would also be old, off-color and very fishy tasting. We were used to everything being good here, but it became obvious that the owners were trying to save money by reusing old food and not making it fresh all the time. The final straw is when I brought my mom visiting from the mainland here, and the food was so old and spoiled we ended up not eating much of it at all. It was a huge disappointment considering we loved the place and came here so often. I hope the quality improves because I enjoy supporting mom and pop places and the couple who owns the place are very kind. They work long hours and are open seven days a week. The decor is super old school and it has a great local vibe and patrons. No tourists here for sure. By the end, we could count on the food being good 3 out of 5 times; which is not acceptable to us. Perhaps someday we will return, but right now, I just have that sour taste in my mouth.

Only been here twice, & I feel like that's enough for me to rate this place at five stars. Kuru Kuru is down the road... which is always busy or some wait time is involved, so we ended up here at both times. All I can say is... WOW. The menu is pretty vast with so many choices and extremely good deals. I really really really looooove their spicy ahi bowls, I would seriously describe it as better than the bowls offered at Kuru/Genki/SushiBay. It was amazing. I have yet to try the other menu items, but my friend ordered the poke bento... and that also seemed just as good as the poke bowl. The portions are very generous and I believe the bento also goes with miso soup. Last but not least.... the staff are very friendly and courteous people. If I'm ever in Pearl City again, this will be the first choice when come to sushi!

after shopping at Target and having a small lunch, my friend and I needed to fill our hungry stomach's with something so we Yelp'd a place for some spicky pork and Ohana BBQ was on the list. After looking at pictures, we decided we needed to give this a try. Boy was I happy we did. Located right across Best Buy, it's towards the end near McDonalds. Walking in, the place would have made me second guess the food. Also, their menu is practically like a wall paper as it's EVERYWHERE. Maybe they should just focus on korean bbq or do something to make the place look a little nicer, but this really is an OHANA business as the whole family was working on New Year's day and they are pretty nice. On to the food: Spicy Pork!!! WOW this is one of the best spicy pork i have had. Their sides could be a little better as the kim chee tasted like spicy onion and we got the bottom of the cabbage, but i didn't really mind when the spicy pork was so delicious. I'm going to make it a new tradition of mine to make my way here everytime i stop by target (which isn't often so it's good for my wasteline that i'm trying to get) Their pork is very tender and cut perfectly. it wasn't thin or thick. Full of flavor and freshly cooked, I am still thinking about it.

Did a last minute order of a tray of garlic chicken and fried noodles. They were super fast in making it, got the chicken crunchy, steamy, garlicky hot and the noodles were hot too. Taste is pretty good, worth the price, they give a lot. Food was devoured at work with good reviews. Def want to go back to try more things.

Great for a good fast meal. The garlic chicken was perfect. Fried but not oily or dry...perfectly cooked. Good garlic taste, just right. There is a garlic smell/taste in your mouth after, but what do you expect, it's garlic! The curry plate has a strong curry flavor. Order this only if you like strong curry. Personally, a little too strong for me. If more rice came with it it would be better. Tastes good, so took the portion I didn't eat back home to eat with the rice I have at home. Ate there and the owner/waitress was very nice, filling up our water a couple of times. Family run, nothing fancy, but a nice pleasant place for a great meal. Average satisfying portions.

Second and fourth Mondays they are closed. Did not try the sushi first time out had the bulgogi, comes with four choices of veg and two scoops if rice. Really good Korean, perhaps next time I'll try a safe sushi dish or he be to which they also have. Extremely nice with excellent service but the place was dead on Sunday afternoon.

Waimalu Shopping Center is quickly becoming my favorite eating spot in Aiea. Ohana BBQ & Sushi surprised me greatly when it came up while I was looking for a spot for lunch. I was surprised a place like this having such good reviews. I call those the sleeper restaurants! The restaurant is pretty much like those other Korean BBQ + a corner for sushi spots I've seen so many other places before. Usually the food in those places are okay, overpriced, and not very memorable. Ohana surprised me greatly when they had a whole range of food at a wide range of prices. I opted to get the pork chop plate per other Yelpers' recommendation. My significant other ordered a bento. Preparation of the food was a bit longer than expected but when they brought my pork chop plate out, I could smell it from MILES away! The pork chop plate was extremely large. It came with 4 choices of your orrdinary Korean BBQ veggies. The pork chop itself was well seasoned and marinated. The gravy was spectacular and there was lots of garlic. As for the other order, the bento, it was above average with nothing really to make it spectacular. There are seats here in this restaurant for eat in and they refill your water pretty quickly and often. Something you don't see on spots that are just like this.

Good okazu and open at 5:30 am on weekdays. Especially useful on Tuesday, when Kabuki is closed. The hash, egg, cone sushi, and hot dog are very good. Fried chicken is ok but nothing special. Spicy chicken isn't spicy enough. BBQ chicken only OK - probably better hot when you order later in the day. Mac salad is quite good but they give too big a scoop - if I finish, I'd probably get sick.

It was average mix of foods. When you go in they have a buffet and it looks like some may have been sitting for a while. The chicken and Kalbi were delicious but the sides were very bland.

Tried this place today for the first time. Wasn't worth it. I had the lunch special = $12. It came with 4 Veges, one each chicken (5oz), fish Jun (3oz) & beef (6-8oz) with 2 scoop rice (1/2 cup each). Not worth it, Pearls in Ewa Beach gives more for the money. Don't think I would eat here again. Sorry.... Other than that, service was average.

Great Friendly smiling service. 1st visit: Dynamic Maki: good, Kalbi: good. 2nd visit: Dynamic Maki roll: chewy nori, rice drying up; Veggie choices for plate taste not fresh, like leftovers; Spicy Pork bathed heavily in GoChuJang sauce, good charring; Kalbi sauce flavor not too sweet or salty and good thickness, good quality meat. 3rd stars for HOPE: Appreciation for the sincere Warm Smiles and Kindness of the couple working there. I think I'll try another visit, but skip the Dynamic and just order the Kalbi. Dec: return visit. Kalbi was great. Did take out of only Kalbi and still received kind smiles and service. Sticking to a good thing. Kalbi quality for the price: 4 stars

I can't believe I have never left a review for this place. I love this place! They have both Korean food and sushi in one location, what more could a girl ask for. The last time I was here, I ordered the Dynamic Maki and I was stunned on the size of the roll. One bite of it and I was in heaven. The ahi is so fresh. At first when I ordered the roll and saw it was $8, I was thinking that it is probably really small and they are overcharging, but to my surprise I was wrong and glad I was wrong. First look at the outside and you would of thought that it wasn't that good, but it is one of those hole in the wall places that has amazing food. I want to try the Korean Soft Tofu hot pot but haven't come around to it quite yet, but I guarantee that I will definitely be visiting this place again when I am in the area. I recommend if anyone is the area and is craving any sushi or Korean food to sink their teeths into the deliciousness that is offered here. Ohana BBQ and Sushi----5 stars all the way! Happy Eatings!

This is by far the best place to have sushi. It is quiet, cheap, parking is ok, and the customer service is great. They are very friendly people, even with the language barrier. I WOULD SUGGEST THE DYNAMIC SUSHI :) awesome. I thought Hawai'i was terrible for not having good sushi considering it as a melting pot, but this place beats, dried sushi from Genki sushi and any other sushi joint. Parking is a bit packed but it wont take more than 10 minutes to find parking. Lunch is pretty packed with terrible parking at that time.

Wow.. little hole in wall in strip mall.. Don't be deceived by their outer appearance. This place is SO good! Prices are reasonable. Good variety to choose from. Their Korean side dishes are the best I've ever had. They even had "sour" kimchi.

I tried the meat jun. It was just ok. The portion for the price was a little on the skimpy side and the meat was so thin...the sides were pretty good though. I love the bean sprouts and the choi sum. My usual favorite, shoyu potato was kinda dry and not very flavorful. In other words I would go back if I was with friends wanted to go and in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.

my wife and i were set to pick up some food at Spicy Ahi BBQ, then head to lanikai. only, i made the dumb mistake of not checking if the aforementioned place was open on monday. damn. ok, now what? yelp to the rescue! wife found Ohana, skimmed some reviews and off we went into the unknown. upon walking in, you're bombarded w/ so many selections! wow. they had traditional korean dishes laid out and prepared, tons more choices presented on the walls, japanese fare, hawaiian grinds, etc., etc. we stood there, speechless. i got the kalbi plate w/ a side of korean cucumbers, seaweed salad, moo-nah-muhl (daikon salad), and jap-chae. wife got the bbq chicken and mandoo combo w/ pretty much the same sides minus the seaweed and korean style tofu instead. when we got the food, the plastic bag was HEAVY. excited, we took off to the beach. food was excellent. all the banchans/side dishes, tasted authentic. i got 3 delish pieces of kalbi, well marinated and grilled perfectly. wife's dark meat chicken was plentifull and very tasty; savory, slightly sweet, w/ a hint of ginger in the marinade. the only item that did not shine for me was the jap-chae. a little bland and on my plate, i got mostly noodles while my wife got a good mix of veggies, too. small gripe. - cucumbers: it almost tastes like oh-ee-kimchee but not quite full ripe status. great crunch and flavor. - seaweed/mee-yuk-nah-muhl: delish. refreshing, slightly tangy and sweet, just like mom makes. - moo-nah-muhl: awesome. sweet, tangy, fresh, EXCELLENT. and all this for under $20??? 4 banchans AND the main entree?! awesome. big props to the small mom n' pop joint. the owners were friendly and you can tell, they work hard. don't come here for the decor or ambience but for some tasty, super affordable, authentic food. wish they had a place on the mainland!

Stopped for breakfast because they were the earliest place open in the morning, but I wasn't impressed. An omelet took almost 20 minutes to come out and was over cooked. The pancakes were a bit tough, the coffee was weak. Combined with the slow service, I can safely say I will not be back.

This review is solely based on the Beef Inari. $4.50 for 5 pieces. But, what you get looks nothing like what's on the menu. There's small little bits of beef. It's like hooking up with someone on the internet and the picture they gave you was cut out of Vogue Magazine. In reality, they look like Ren or Stimpy. False advertising!!!

Awesome!

Very disappointed. I ordered the ahi sashimi salad expecting to get a bunch of greens and sliced up ahi. To my dismay, I got small sliced up cucumbers, carrots, and cabbage. It was portioned off in bite sizes. The ahi was so, so. Went in hungry, left hungry :(

i work in the area and i go here when i feel like treating myself to some sushi. the portions are very generous and the staff are friendly. when compared to genki, the price is very reasonable. this is an all around great place with a relaxed slow atmosphere. i like how it is not crowded no matter how packed the parking lot is. it seems as though everyone by passes this place and goes straight to chan wa kam??? def a must try if you are in the aiea area and on a budget!!!!!!!!!

after shopping at Target and having a small lunch, my friend and I needed to fill our hungry stomach's with something so we Yelp'd a place for some spicky pork and Ohana BBQ was on the list.

    (4)
  • Ashly M.

The #1 combo is my absolute favorite! You get a handful of sides along with the entree. Sushi could use some work, but is definitely acceptable for that quick fix. The place looks really clean, and their extensive menu can satisfy all. Bravo!

Great food! When I came back to Hawaii after 10 years I was craving nothing more then some good local food; Ohana gave me that an some with their generous portions that left me so full! Customer service was great and wait time was short! A definate must go if you love local Hawaiian food (:
