For some reason, I never bother to write reviews for any of the L & L Hawaiian Barbecues. Mostly because the food is just not memorable at all. As a grease-pit takeout joint, any and all expectations have to run pretty low. So the fact that I'm writing this review shows that the Pearlridge Food Court location had something worthy to give a shout out about. Their so-called 'Tasty Chicken' is the bomb! Their version is made up of battered, deep fried, crunchy, juicy, moist, dark meat chicken tossed in a sweet and savory sauce. And if by chance you're looking for blanched, fresh broccoli to go with your meal, they have that too. But think twice about asking for all of one selection to go with your plate cuz they'll charge you $1 more as was the case with my Mini Tasty Chicken with all broccoli for just under $9. At least they gave fair warning before hand and the portion of the Mini Plate was very generous. I would definitely eat the Tasty Chicken again.

This L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is well known for their Tasty Chicken. Free samples were given to each customer that were interested, yet i ordered the mini garlic chicken. At 6.75, the mini portions were pretty filling for a 123 pound person. It came with a scoop of rice, mac salad, and my garlic chicken. The garlic chicken tasted bland and dry. I had to use a lot of ketchup. I would rather consider this place a restaurant than a fast food because it's cooked right after you order it and takes about 10-15 minutes (unless ordering the tasty chicken.) Customer service was avaerage; Greeted upon, nice smile, decent hygiene, and made sure i had a wonderful day. It's a 40/60 chance i would likely come back.

I had a loco Moco craving so I came here to get a mini. Well half my ground beef patty had mystery nuggets that I had to spit out. Can't go wrong with rice and gravy and eggs.

For some reason, I feel like this is the best L&L I've ever been to. They have a lot of different things (fruit, different stuff in the healthy plates), and I really appreciate it. It's hard to find a good lunch in the mall food court, but this is one of my favorites. Nice workers, amazing owner, better food--what more could I ask out of L&L?

My go to place to feed the family at the mall. The owner is very nice, and the people at the counter have always been friendly.

Nice service, good value FANTASTIC Mac salad!!! While the roast pork was tasty the Mac dal and with a little tuna was awesome. Also have has the tasty chicken which was also good. Service was fast and friendly.

First time having their food, had a pretty decent pork chop for a low price in comparison. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a decent cheap dinner.

I liked location very much in the past like 6months ago. Owner used to be very attentive for the customer. However, today I saw him feeding his mouth with something while Attending at the counter. I ordered chicken katsu for take out when I got back to eat it I found out that he did not put katsu sauce.

I'll be honest. I was NOT stoked about this L&L because it replaced the only Carl's Jr that counts (OK a Carl's Jr in a gas station? There has to be something carcinogenic about that. Yet, I still go there when I get cravings) However, when my email crashed, losing ALL of my recipes, I had to improvise. Luckily L&L has a healthy section of their menu. I do love that they have calories next to all of their choices. Big plus for you there. Definitely takes the mystery out of what you're actually eating. I ordered the garlic shrimp. I eat L&L sporadically (Hello Clueless Reference!), and therefore do not have their menu memorized. However, I do not remember the shrimp having skin on them. Maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me, but I just cannot eat shrimp with the skin still on... it's an EXOSKELETON! My husband ordered the garlic shrimp. Nothing fabulous to discuss here except it took forever to make. I don't understand why this would take so much longer than any other dish to prepare. It's just fried garlic breaded chicken, right? You get an extra 0.5 star for your healthy options, but since Yelp doesn't work in partial stars, I am truncating you to a 3 mostly because I feel there's some work to do to get you on par with other locations.

The fried shrimp was one of the worst. It may have been a bad night, but it was all batter/panko with a morsel of shrimp..and i get that they will over batter sometimes but on top of that it was wayyy over cooked so the small piece of shrimp within the batter was all shriveled up and the fried batter was burnt and oily...it was bad. Theres nothing worse than eating bites of fried, burnt and oily batter/panko with nothing inside. My husband got the pork plate and he wasn't all too thrilled either. A disappointment because usually any L&L I go to is very consistent.

Nice when businesses appreciate customers. Staff at this L and L are very friendly and portion sizes are the largest I have seen at L and L.

This L&L receives 5 stars in my opinion. This location is the only one that i've been to which offers the super Atkin's plate! This plate is a low carb dieter's dream!! Basically all meat and lots of it!! Other than that, this is your typical greasy spoon plate lunch joint. So unless you're on a low carb diet, don't expect this L&L to differ much from any other.

Honestly, not a huge huge fan of L&L just because you live here all your life and you see the same local places, it becomes the norm...but THIS location is the bomb digggs because they just started selling fruits, veggies, bagels and muffins! ALL AT REASONABLE PRICES. so if you're in line at Starbucks just a few shops down, consider going to L&L for food that is ten times CHEAPER! If a worker from that location is reading this, please know that I thank you very much for bringing cheaper healthy snacks/fruits to this mall, it was GREATLY NEEDED!!

Terrible service. Guy behind the counter chatted for at least 5 minutes with his friend while my food sat on the counter getting cold. All he had to do was put it in a bag. Finally, the lady at the register walked over, bagged it, and handed it to me. I'm never going back again. I hope they go out of business. I miss Carl's Jr.

I came here on the day after they first opened. I think this is another good location for L&L in the Aiea community (there is one in Aiea Shopping Center and I think another in Pearl Kai Center). I stopped by for lunch and checked out what they had. The menu is your typical L&L menu with your favorite plate lunches that include chicken, beef, seafood, pork, burgers, saimin, musubi, etc. They even have Hawaiian BBQ bowls which kind of reminds me of Panda bowls like how they do it in Panda Express. The prices are decent. A regular plate lunch is nearly 10 bucks while a mini plate is about 7 bucks. My first visit here I got a Healthy BBQ chicken plate which consists of bbq chicken, salad, and one scoop of brown rice. Tt was my first time eating it and it was good and pretty satisfying. I think that might be one of my top choices for L&L now. The food stand here took over Carls' Jr. and is conveniently located at the uptown food court side of Pearlridge Shopping Center. It is right across from Pizza Hut/Taco Bell and Charlie's Subs and right next to Subway. They also do family party packs and catering which is good to know. The staff and customer service is good.

We always try to eat where the locals eat to get the true flavor of the region, so when we landed in Honolulu we asked for a recommendation of a non-tourist place and the rental car agent pointed us here, and are we ever glad he did! For you Texans and Southerners, don't let the name fool you - Hawaiian BBQ is totally different from the smoked stuff you know! This is Asian BBQ fare, you could probably trace it's lineage from Korean. Lots of regional, local fare - good stuff. L&L's seem to be on every other corner (alternating with a Zippy's it seems) so we ate at 'em more than once.
