This is the second time we been back since the remodeling. The space is so much nicer in every way. The view is great and the service is great, however I thought the food was not as good as the last time I went. I got the fried seafood basket and it was not hand breaded it was frozen seafood out of a bag. Frankly very disappointing. The corn salad really was not very good at all. I will definitely give it another try but would skip the fried seafood. The last time there I had the fried green tomato salad with blackened shrimp and it was amazing. It is no longer offered. We were surprised how little seafood was offered.

The fish tacos. Yep, get em. They're the best thing on the menu not to mention their tater tots are a great find. Their Firecracker cheeseburger is outstanding, it houses an entire jalapeno popper inside the patty. They typically have half off draft beer between 3 and 6, $2.50 for a pint of Stella, even. Unheard of! Service is leaps and bounds better sitting at the bar. If you can avoid table service, do it. They're right on the water and have live music sometimes too. The crowd is older but where in South West Florida is it not...

Emily was our server and she was great, very friendly and attentive. I have two words COCONUT SHRIMP. Very light and delicious. And omg the sauce. I would return here just for this appetizer. I had their Marker 4 margarita which was refreshing and not that sweet, which is great since many restaurants make margaritas too sweet! This had lime and orange juice in it! For my entree, I had a grilled chicken sandwich with a sundried tomato aoili and basil pesto spread, very good. My mom enjoyed the crabcakes and the winter pear salad. Great place on the dock!

The place is in a great location with an awesome view of the water. We had an Oyster Poboy and Fish and chips, both very good. The draft beer was nice and cold, I have noticed several restaurants in the area where the draft beer was warm. I was very impressed with Marker 4. Thumbs up . Marker 4 u have earned my respect

Fabulous marina views from the open restaurant seating on the left hand side of the restaurant. Delicious food..we had hot dogs, mussels, fish and chips and a grilled chicken sandwich. Everyone said how much they enjoyed their food. Our problem was the lag in service and a problem checking out. Felt to us like we waited an hour for lunch..probably because we met at noon and lunch was delivered 12:55. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, he went to when the ticket for lunch went in--12:40. Hard for me to dispute so I didn't, but there had to have been a lag between when we ordered and when Angela put in the order. Our full elapsed time at the restaurant was 2 hours. At the end, our host realized his card had been charged for someone else's lunch..about $100 more than our lunch. It took at least 10 minutes to resolve it with an action for us to check the card account after a couple of days to make sure it was adjusted. I left disappointed with overall service, which is why the 3 star rating. The food and venue was at least 4 stars.

Love dining in the outdoors... Especially seaside. They have a large tiki bar with entertainment. The food is good .. Wish the menu was larger. I've had the salmon ... It was real good.

Got here just in time to get the Steamed PEI Mussels before they 86'd them .... awesome & the sauce we could eat that on a flip flop and it would still be good !

Had dinner here last night, Wednesday, party of 3 adults and two small children. We got sat right away at a table by the water. Food was ok...not bad, not amazing. We had fried shrimp, fried grouper, which they initially had to bring out on a separate plate, and fish tacos. Typical kid food, cheeseburger and pasta shells. The side of fruit was half a can of fruit cocktail. The only thing that made this place standout to us was the seat by the water and watching the boats and Pelicans.

First time here and will go back. I had the Blackened Grouper sandwich with the grilled corn salad. Both were delicious. The blackening spices were a tasty blend and not too hot. The corn salad was the best, could've just eaten a bowl of it for dinner; just the right blend of mayo and feta cheese. Waitress Michelle D was great. Very friendly and steered us right direction with our choices.

My boyfriend's aunt and uncle were curious to try this restaurant again after it's reopening, so my boyfriend and I joined them for lunch on our visit in Venice. The restaurant is within walking distance from their home, so the four of us enjoyed our commute there. Upon arriving, we walked through the new tiki hut entrance which was very nice but too spacious and currently a missed opportunity regarding space. It would be nice to see some high tops or other seating added, so people can enjoy the tiki hut. Our waiter was very friendly and immediately told us about a $5 Mango Mojito special. My boyfriend and I each ordered one, and we enjoyed them although they weren't very alcoholic. The other odd thing is that they were clear in color like a regular Mojito (not orange-colored), so it made our drinks seem even more artificial. At least add some mangos or other fruits to give the Mango Mojito an orange color and make it seem fresher and the usage of artificial syrup less obvious! My Mojito also got watered down pretty quickly and apparently should have been finished in 10 minutes. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the menu offerings. I don't eat much seafood, and there weren't many non-seafood options on the menu. I expected a few more chicken dishes to be listed like most seafood restaurants do these days. Ultimately, I decided between a salad and the Jerk Chicken sandwich. I went with the lighter option and ordered the Mango and Watermelon Salad (size large) and added chicken. The rest of the group went with seafood. My boyfriend got the fish tacos while his aunt ordered the fried oysters with a side salad and his uncle had the fish and chips. I really did enjoy my salad, but there wasn't anything that special about it other than the dressing. It was a unique combination of flavors and I give the chef credit for that, but I still could have made it at home. It was an arugula salad with goat cheese, mango slices, watermelon pieces, and pistachios. I chose the recommended dressing, Apple Cider Vinaigrette, and I really liked it's light taste with my salad. My boyfriend said his fish tacos were okay and a bit dated. His aunt didn't comment on her fried oysters (and usually, no comment says it all!), but she also liked the Apple Cider Vinaigrette that she ordered on her side salad. His uncle enjoyed his fish and chips and was really impressed with the large portion size. Overall, we had a pleasant meal and experience, but that "wow" factor was just simply missing. I can't accurately judge the seafood, but I can assure you that my boyfriend and his family are qualified judges, and they weren't that amazed by it. I'd tell others to give this restaurant a shot especially since it recently reopened, but I won't be going out of my way to eat here again on our next trip to Venice.

Marker 4 has re-opened! They have even built a giant tiki hut that stands at the front entrance. It is very nice but in my opinion not well used. It's currently a big empty space. We were greeted right away by a friendly server, who was prompt and well mannered. I ordered a 5$ mango mojito on special. The mojito was good but could have had a bit more alcohol. For my entree I ordered the fish tacos. They were okay but the fish seemed a little dated and the portion could have been three tacos, not two. I admit I am spoiled by fish tacos from a local place back home, but these were just missing something special. All in all the food was okay but I can't see myself returning on a craving. At least the wharf is looking proper again.

Had dinner tonight - had been here 6 Months ago and was very impressed . Three or four daily entrees - and they were really good! The daily specials is some sort of Combo menu - nothing special ,unique or local. Had the mussels - excellent - wife had blackened grouper sandwich- also excellent. I ordered the grouper franchise- with provancal sauce - a pile of dark something appeared ( simultaneously with my mussel appetizer ) which I quickly refused. Had the mussels and 20 minutes later they served me the same ( rewarmed) grouper. The kitchen needs to get its act together , they need better entree options ( local fish). We'll gladly pay for that . The service needs attention and training. They are trying but need to execute better.

Nice being on the water. However, we gave the food another try after bad experiences. Unfortunately the food is still expensive and not very good . They would be packed if the food was good.

Newly remodeled restaurant on the waterfront with a new Tiki Bar. Both are very nice. Excellent service with a very upbeat server. Seafood bisque was excellent and a little spicy. Good portion size, very hot just the way it should be served. Fish & Chips were quite good with the fish nice and fresh. Roasted corn salad was great. The portabella mushroom sandwich was very tasty. Overall a very nice dinner. We will return.

Our "Sweet 16" surprise birthday party was a success on 27 December 2014!! All nine people in attendance were pleased with their menu selections! A big thank you to Miguel, our server, who did a fantastic job attending to everyone's needs! Great job with the cake and candles Miguel! Thanks to Hal and Judy for coordinating the surprise! We enjoyed the steamed PEI Mussels, with double smoked bacon, tomato, basil, lemon juice, white wine, and Ali Amarillo... I recommend this highly. A truly fantastic dish. A generous serving, the bacon and tomato additions make this a signature dish. It had a delicious sauce and was served with It was prepared perfectly, and the server was among the top ten servers, in my experience. We have eaten mussels all over the US and Europe, and I must say, these were in the top five of mussel dishes that I have enjoyed. I want to recommend this restaurant, very, very highly. Everything was perfect. We plan on visiting every time we are in Venice. A "Wow" experience and a great place to eat.

Food is consistently good. I usually order the fish tacos. Husband orders wings. The barmaids are awesome!!!! They are so busy but attentive and fun to chat with. They really need barbacks to assist!

I love seafood and I can be pretty picky about how it is cooked and served. Dining with a large group, I had the chance to try every appetizer on the menu plus the Ahi Tuna entree and this is what it comes down to: Here are some of the appetizers that I tried with a large group; Oysters Rockefeller, Coconut shrimp, Shrimp cocktail, conch fritters, guacamole, fried oysters, shrimp escargo, chicken wings, onion rings, crab cakes, etc... FAVORITE APPETIZERS were the: Shrimp Cocktail- delicious blend of ceviche/guacamole style cocktail. Crowd pleaser Conch Fritters- So delciious. I am a sucker for conch fritters that are cooked correctly with just the right amount of batter and a perfect sauce. Onion Rings -- These are easy to get wrong, soggy, bland, too much batter or not enough. When I find a good onion ring I am happy. These made me very happy! Oysters Rockefeller- I loved the flavors, but wish it had been served on the shell. My entree of Ahi Tuna was done very nicely with a wasabi sauce. I would order again, except that I probably wouldn't mind trying all the other many dishes. FAVORITE ENTREES in my group were the seafood platter, the fish tacos, the grouper and the salmon. All were cooked perfectly and were beautifully presented. DRINKS: I ordered the Dark and Stormy. I am partial to this drink and make it often. I really enjoyed it even though it was a little light on the rum. My husband had the other drink (can't remember the name) which is a Dark and Stormy as well but with fruit juices. He said it was too fruity for his taste. But it seemed to fit the tropical theme nicely. RECOMMENDATION: Make sure to get some french fries. Fries did not come with my dish, but someone else passed theirs around and they were so incredibly tasty that when I come back again I'll make sure to get a side of these no matter what else I order.

Good burger, great view, friendly staff but a bit overpriced. Had the peach margarita which was the drink of the day but it wasn't very "peachy".

Was there for lunch yesterday, not impressed. Service was excellent but the flavor of the fish we had was way to strong for all of us. I will go again as the last time we were there it was delicious. Maybe they were just having one of those days.

Outstanding! Oyster Rockefeller with candied bacon. Wow. A blackened grouper Reuben and fish tacos actually with a lot of fish? Yes! Tuna tartare and some great looking salads rounded out our tables. Do your self a favor and get the roasted corn salad for a side dish. It's just right. Thankyou!

Having visited and enjoyed the food and atmosphere here I was confident that my visitors would like it as much as we have. We all ordered the fish tacos, mine with the fixings on the side as in the past they have been on the hot side. When we got our dinners we could not believe the tacos were sooo hot. My friend could only eat one. Even with the fixings on the side they were way too spicy. Must be in the batter. The fries were over salted also . How embarrassing . I talked this place up and wham.. meals that were spiced to death. Also, we ordered Mojitos which were very very light on the rum. I noticed that the table next to us sent their mixed drinks back for the same reason. Not for anything but is this something the management said to do to save money or is it possible that the bar staff is the problem. Don't know but my advice is if you go there order beer and stick to the burgers.

Disappointed! I ordered the fried seafood combo and the oysters were as crisp as a chip. I told the waiter and he offered a "sorry". We weren't impressed and will never come back. Too bad - the location and restaurant itself is beautiful.

We were delighted to see that Marker 4 has reopened. We've been coming to Marker 4 for many years. We were there for sunset and an assortment of appetizers with our beer. The peel and eat shrimp were perfect, as were the fried oysters. We also had the warm edamame which was good. The waitress was competent and friendly. She told us as we ordered to expect the food to be prepared differently from the former establishment. She was right - It was so much better! (And we liked it before) We'll definitely be back.

Marker 4 has reopened. I almost don't want to write a review because the tourists will inevitably find this place anyway. Decided to check it out for lunch the other day. The decor is considerably less kitchy (oars are gone) and the mood and menu, while still casual, are a bit more upscale. The prices seem higher than I recall too, but I think the food quality warranted it. We shared a "shrimp cocktail" special which was really yummy. More ceviche than cocktail, chopped poached shrimp with tomatoes, green olives, pickled jalapenos, avocado & cilantro all served in a martini glass with pita chips on the side. This was good enough that I need to try to figure out the recipe so I can keep eating it at home! For entrees, my husband had a bison burger that was thankfully NOT overcooked and was juicy and tasty. I had the fried oyster roll. Two New England style hot dog buns each with several very plump, cornmeal crusted, well fried oysters, arugula (I hate iceberg lettice!), and a really yummy mustard sauce. Sides were interesting, I had a corn salad--charred corn with some veggies, mayo and what tasted like a fair amount of parmesan cheese. Hubbie had the well fried tater tots-what's not to love! I believe the new owners have something to do with Harry's Continental up on Longboat, as our server mentioned the corn salad was the same served there. Overall the food was a big step up from before and the atmosphere was good. I was shocked at how pleasant it was sitting outdoors in the "Africa heat" of late June Florida, but they have the ventillation down to a science.

Imagine going to a restaurant/bar to reconnect with your family over food and drink only to have your server openly hate you. That's exactly what happened to us yesterday and it was jarring, to say the least. She was cold to start with, but then after having ordered a fair amount of food and drink, we decided to try the buffalo wings... well, for some reason this angered our server to no end... to the point that she threw a stapler at the station where they place the order. I have no idea what we did or if there was something else going on in this poor woman's life that had nothing to do with us, but the bad feeling this left us with was inexcusable. Was the food good? I have no idea- one doesn't tend to enjoy food where one is obviously not welcomed. All three of us at the table have been servers, so we completely understand what a tough job it is and how unfair the American wage/tip system is. But Marker 4 just lost 3 regular customers due to this one server who couldn't pull it together and do the most important part of the job- making the guests feel welcome. I suggest you look at other reviews to decide if you want to take your family here...

Great restaurant! The buffalo wings and crab cakes are delicious. We sat at the bar to watch the winter classic, and our server was very accommodating. We definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing afternoon by the marina.

We went early for Valentine's day. We were seated promptly but waited 10 minutes for a server to greet us. No one came. I asked another server to find our server. She also never returned. Bottom line - we left. Waisted 20 minutes.

Pretty good food, excellent service, and good prices. It wasn't anymore than I anticipated paying for a nice dinner, unfortunately we were here for lunch and they don't have a separate lunch menu. I had scallops, fried shrimp, fried fish, crab cake, and fries. It was all really good but the scallops were the best part of the meal. My wife had the fish tacos and loved them. We shared a coconut shrimp appetizer which was one of the top two or three coconut shrimp plates I've ever had, by far my favorite part of the meal. Overall I'd say it is one of if not the best seafood place we have in Venice now, the only reason it's three stars and not four is the lack of a lunch menu. Far better service than The Crows Nest, not to mention how much cleaner this place is. I installed their wifi and phone services prior to opening and can vouch for how clean this place is, everything is brand new. I'm extremely picky when it comes to eating out because of my job. There are many places in Venice that I refuse to eat at because of how disgusting their kitchen and storage areas are. This is not one of those places. We say outside right on the water and the breeze made it perfect even though it's 88 degrees with a feels like temp of 97 today. We will definitely be coming back for dinner sometime soon.
