My family came down to visit my aunt and uncle, and this was a "must eat" place on their list. My husband ordered the Polish sausage, I had the Paradise Burger, and we ordered 3 kids meals (grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and a hotdog) for the kiddos. First of all, the service was second to none. Super friendly, gracious, and helpful! Second, the atmosphere was spot-on. What a fantastic beach hangout. I loved having the option of the outdoor bar area or inside dining. And last but not least, the food was scrumptious. My burger was one of the best burgers I have ever had. My hubs loved his sandwich, and my kids devoured their meals (which almost never happens). If I lived nearby, I would most certainly be a regular.

Must have cash, no credit cards which can be a challenge for me but I really love this place. To order, you go to the bar and they will bring your food to you. Its not the greatest food or the coldest beer but it's the history and the open air hangout vibe that I like. I usually order the ungrouper sandwich and sweet potato fries. They also do pretty good hot dogs. The beer is good and cheap but I have never had a "frosted" mug...lol You just cant find many places like this anymore. If you don't want to sit outside they do have an inside A/C area. Usually plenty of parking and you can bring you dog.

Mostly an open-air Tiki Hut with a small inside seating area. Good Hot Dogs, better Hamburgers, the best waitress. Cold beer, cold root beer, pretty babes to look at. What could be better.

This is a cool spot. It was not well-suited for my family, pregnant fiance and 21 month old boy who loves to wander. This is no fault to The Frosted Mug and did not score it according to that at all. I just wanted to let anyone know with a similar situation that it isn't well suited for you. The reasons being is that the outdoor area is not secure to the busy road out front. There is also smoking. Inside would have been a better option in hindsight. Oh well. We only stopped by for a quick bite to eat, a beer for me, and a cold drink for her. The beer was cheap, cold, and the bartender was really nice and prompt. The crowd looked like several loyal regulars and many cars beeped driving by and waved to the staff and customers - a very good sign of a good business. We got a hot dog, fries, and some deep fried pickles. The hot dog was good but after having Mad Dog up the road it couldn't stand up, but not many can. The fries, promised to be really good, were just regular cut McCain or Cavendish frozen fries and not that great. The pickles were good. On another visit in a different situation I will try more indicative menu items. I'd love to revisit The Frosted Mug under different circumstances and enjoy what I know is a fun and cool spot.

I love going to this place to grab a quick bite, a beer and sit with the puppy. They are super sweet to dogs (not just the ones sitting at the bar ;), yuk, yuk, yuk) and are very attentive to heir owners as well. The food is ok, fish and chips are decent, especially for all-you-can-eat, though I'm unsure of the days they do that so call ahead. Other than the fact that you're sitting starting at the road rather than the ocean, I'm a fan and since I can bring the puppy before or after a trip to the dog beach it's great!

*** I am biased *** I love having a few $1 draft beers (or $1.65 non 4-6pm) and possibly a hot dog at the outdoor bar. There are so few places like this in Florida or elsewhere. Five stars is a bit strong, but I am rating it for what it is: One of the greatest dive outdoor bars on a busy highway, ever. This place makes me really happy for some reason. Sure the bathroom is ridiculously, laughingly jacked up. Sure the menu is tiny and mostly hot dogs, burgers, and fries. Hit that patio bar and expect a great time!! Beach 41 is a diamond in the rough. Covered in dirt.

The four-star review is strictly for sitting outside and having a few beers. We didn't eat, so I can't vouch for that. The beer tasted very good--icy cold mug, cold fresh beer, and cheap prices. We each had two and got in and got out. Service is efficient if not overly friendly, but not the biggest deal when you're at a counter just having beer. My husband loves coming here for a brew every time we visit, and he has affectionately named it "Beach 41." I like it.

This is just a plain, old-fashioned beer and burger joint with an outside bar and picnic tables, plus an air conditioned dining room inside. You order at the bar but they bring it to you in a classic plastic basket. Their cheeseburgers are the best in the area. Big, juicy, flavorful with a good sized slice of cheddar. I recommend medium rare, which actually comes out pink in the middle. And they're only $4.50. You'd pay twice that for a burger at a more upscale place (e.g., Bogey's or Pelican Alley), but it wouldn't be nearly as good. Draft beer is only a buck from 3:00 until (I think) 5:00. Fries and rings are good, too. I'm glad I don't live closer--I'd go off my diet more often if I didn't have to drive five miles to get there.

I used to like going there on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday because they had AYCE fish fry for only $9.95. The fish was fresh and flavorful. The last time I went when we ordered 2nds of the fish, it was very tough and you could tell they had refried and then expected us to eat it. Maybe that was their way of telling us that we couldn't have any more. Very disappointed.

I stopped in for a couple cold ones and was served promptly at the outdoor bar. The bartenders were friendly and on their game. It is a nice little dive bar that has $2, 10oz mugs.

Great burgers, laid back atmosphere and beers on tap. One of the few places to eat outside. No frills and we love it that way. Come here often!

There was a dead Bee at the bottom of my drink, I gave it to the waitress at the bar and all she said was "oh, it's a bee" Didn't say sorry, nothing. Won't be coming here again. GROSS. Don't even want to give it one star.

Love the food. Burgers are excellent and just love the atmosphere it has. My one complaint would be service can be complicated sometimes.

Cash only, ATM available next door at gas station. Have eaten here a few times, burgers are pretty good, basket of fries is plenty to share. They do tend to make up their closing hours depending on weather and crowd or their mood. Once, we went on a Friday night at 8:30 with some friends and were immediately told sorry, they close at 9. We were turned away, which was ridiculous (I messaged them and never heard back). They allow dogs and are super nice. One of the originals places in Venice!

I don't get it... I read plenty of reviews on this place stating how great it is. I have driven past it for years when I come into town to visit family, and had never stopped before. Finally I decided to stop based on how great the reviews were. I felt that if you aren't a local and don't know the bartender, then you are kind of an inconvenience to them. My family and I asked a few questions before ordering, and we felt like we were bothering the bartender. (You order at the bar, and then walk inside, have a seat, and the food is brought to you once ready.) I heard how great/cold the draft root beer is. I ordered a Diet Root Beer assuming it was draft as well, and it wasn't. Came from a can and wasn't even in a frosted mug. I then asked if I could switch to a draft non-diet root beer since the Diet was from a can. The bartender willingly changed it. However again, it was in a room temperature mug. I was really looking forward to a crisp cold root beer. The food came out pretty fast. However it was OK at best. Burger was dry with no flavor. Fries were bland. The atmosphere was fun to me. It's a dive burger bar that has been around forever. I really wanted to like it. However, food/beverage/service was disappointing. I unfortunately will not be returning....

Great old fashioned roadside beer stand with a small outside bar and half a dozen open air concrete tables. Ice cold mugs for the draft which used to be 99c but still cheap. Very good cheeseburger. Busy place w many locals. Good for a quick one on a hot day.
