My wife and I arrived in Venice after a long drive from PA and decided to have our first meal at Cafe Venice. What a treat! Our dinners were absolutely wonderful. Because I had signed up for their on line updates we had a complimentary bottle of wine with our 2 meals. Great food & service, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

3 1/2 stars. It's not the Cafe Venice that I remember from years ago; fine eclectic dining. But maybe we were there for lunch and didn't see the dinner menu. Good to very good food. Very good prices. Loved the quiche, tomato basil soup, the grilled chicken BLT. The accompanying french fries was very disappointing. They tasted like they sat out too long. Live Music. My suggestion to the business. On a quiet Sunday, some light jazz or classical would be more enjoyable. Not loud classic rock n' roll.

Won an award for best lunch and cafe in Venice and deserved it Wonderful restaurant! The staff is fast an friendly. They have a good knowledge if their menu there is a seperate server that brings food so it is delivered fast. Lots of refills on water and tea The tomato soup is wonderful lots of soup and sandwich or salad combos Good crab.cake and fish tacos. Everything is homemade and super fresh! Casual down town Venice

I'm from out of town, and have been back to the Venice Café 4 times! I've gotten something different each time, for both lunch and dinner, and have been extremely pleased each time. The wait staff has been helpful and polite. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I stopped by the place lunch and had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken on top and was stuffed! It was made with homemade Caesar dressing and it was on point. The romaine lettuce was crisp and fresh and the parmesian cheese was just delicious. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was super friendly.

Love the grilled romaine salad w/ reduced Balsamic vinegar drizzle. Potato salad ok, not too much flavor, but wraps & tomato Basil bisque great! Slow getting table when lots of empty tables, think hostess slow!

Had a very good greek salad with chicken. I had a lot of special requests and the got it right. The chicken was freshly cooked and tasty. The salad was large. This is my favorite spot in Venice. Prices are ok. Waiter was good. All around good spot.

Not really sure why this place gets 3+ stars. It must just be the location. We have been there several times and have been regularly disappointed. The food is barely average, the wine list meager, and the service is frequently lackluster. There are many better alternatives in the Venice downtown area. Do yourself a favor and keep looking...

This food is excellent. I had a steak that was tender, succulent and melted in my mouth. Make sure you ask for Michelle as your waitress she is a hoot.

This place is amazing! Not only are they very dog friendly on their front patio, but the service is amazing! Michelle is the best! Always remembers us, what we drink, and always takes the time to sit and chat a bit! The crab cakes are TO DIE FOR! Actually, everything is delicious! Definitely recommend this place to anyone!!!

Just had lunch here - three couples. We could not have asked for a nicer place to meet. Service was wonderful, wait staff was very attentive and the hostess was especially kind and helpful. And the food...perfect. We all look forward to returning here again. Actually, this was our second visit here within 3 weeks and we will return...highly recommended

We wandered into Cafe Venice for lunch without having read the Yelp reviews. Count us in with the people who enjoyed this little place. Service was well placed and friendly. The tomato nail bisque was excellent; a must have if it's on the menu. My girlfriend had the chicken tortilla soup and thought it was excellent. I also had the wedge salad with chicken. It was uniquely presented. The chicken, which was a place that could have gone wrong, was pounded evenly and cooked perfectly. The half Reuben was also excellent. I don't think the 4 $ rating for cost is accurate. The children as my salad was $5; a little pricey. But overall tje prices were very fair. We'd definitely come again.

Nice place! Good server, a very amazing Salmon dish, it was the most perfect meal ever! We also had the Crab Cakes, nice ! But I can't wait to come back for the Salmon again . I little unfriendly, probably treats local better, the rest get treated like snowbirds.

Could this be the best burger in Venice. I would say yes... Cooked just right and placed on ciabatta bread. Hand cut fries helped round off the meal. Yum.

i was visiting Venice for business and this place was right across the street. Boy was I lucky. This place had great atmosphere and food. Service was a bit spotty, but it's Florida, so I just expect it to be slow when I go out. I did try the tomato-basil bisque, and it was great. Recommend it! And, it was perfect soup weather out! I was able to sample most of the sandwiches they offered, and they were all great. As long as you aren't allergic to anything on them, that is the route I suggest. Everyone seemed to enjoy the dishes they had there. It was also quiet busy each time, which can be (and in this case, is) an indicator of how good the place is. Check it out.

This place does not even deserve a star. Horrible food & service. I have never done what my girlfriend I have just done: stop eating pay for the meal and throw it out on the way out. Don't eat here. Better places in the area.

After traveling for about a year on the West Coast of Florida and being somewhat disappointed in the restaurants we stumbled into Cafe Venice. No Internet to Yelp it so we walked in and had one of the best 5 meals we have experienced on Florida's west coast. I enjoyed the special of the day Veal Shank and a delicious soup of the day and extremely crisp and fresh salad. My wife had a veal dish that was also very good. You will not be disappointed in the food, the service or the price. Definitely a good choice.

What a disappointment. My Mediterranean salad was wilted, old and tough, over-onioned and olived with tasteless dressing. The only saving grace was the 50% discount when I turned back 3/4 of it. My wife's Mahi-Mahi sandwich was tasteless and dry. Never will darken their door again.

I took two clients/friends there for lunch and was very pleased. Prompt, courteous service with just enough attention. The food was delicious. We ordered the chicken salad on a croissant, crab cake salad, and the fish sandwich. The portions were just right and the quality was excellent.
