Good food, and at an unbeatable price on Tuesdays. Two tacos, chips, and a drink for $5 before tax. There's usually a long line that day, but they keep it moving. If you're there on a day other than Tuesday or want to try something different, the chimichanga is very good. Crispy on the bottom and covered in cheese; what's not to like? TFlats' standout feature is the hot sauce bar in the middle of the room. There are 15-20 different sauces to choose from that change regularly. There are sauces for every taste, from mild through hot to the "death face" sauces. They're all marked so you can find what you like.

Even though it's much further away from me than the Lake Mary TF, THIS place has my business forever. Every time I come here with hubs, we are consistently treated with warm smiles and excellent customer service. I'm in the wheelchair- an employee always rushes to open the door for me, coming and going. When I went by myself (using the walker), the most excellent Hailey got the door for me, asked if I would like to sit down so she could retrieve my to go order, took my payment to the register, brought it all back to me, and even got me my favorite sauce (Mae Ploy Sweet Chilli). THEN she asked if she could carry it out to my car! That Hailey is one awesome employee to have. No, it's NOT "authentic" Mexican food, It's not even trying to be. It IS fresh ingredients, prepared quickly, that taste delicious, for an affordable price. My favorite is the nachos. I know, how ordinary of me, right? But they always hit the spot. I get mine with ground beef (which is how nachos SHOULD be ;), extra olives, extra scallions, blah, blah, blah, and some of the most tasty guacamole evah. Annnnd, they have the best iced tea, anywhere, ever, I really mean it, and the most perfect ice to chill it out. Nice relaxed atmosphere, this place is ( as another reviewers said) is very similar to Chipolte. The medium burrito is large enough for a good lunch. The carnitas has a good flavor but very mild (I love smokey pork). The nice thing about this restaurant is the hot sauce bar, which has sauces ranging from the sweet and mild to the intensive hot. I tried quite a bit of them but really enjoyed their more unique flavor combinations. What puts this place as a solid four star is the service. Food was brought to you, and in a 15 minute span I was asked several times if I needed a refill on my drink.

My first time here. The staff was wonderful - very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The manager, Adrian, was amazing. He runs a tight ship there. He was right on top of everything, and worked his behind off! He was out on the floor, leading by example. The restaurant was very clean, and the food was excellent. We boxed up a few items "to go" and were offered a "top off" to the salsa and drinks. The portion sizes were quite acceptable. One taco at Tijuana Flats is the size of two "normal" tacos, so make sure you're hungry. We will absolutely be back. The only "cons" I have: * The hamburger style meat in the "beef" taco ... not so great - get a different kind of meat. * The shorts that the female staff were wearing were soooooooo short that their "cheeks" were showing a bit. That's pretty trashy in a food service environment. I don't care what may be "trendy." When trendy is trashy it does not belong in the work place. This is a restaurant, not a strip club.

Great place for quick lunch. Staff is always friendly, service is fast, and the food is consistently yummy. If you're in the mood for something sweet, the cookie dough flautas, served with chocolate sauce, are delicious! Tuesdays are quite busy at peak times because of their taco special, but it's a great deal! Just arrive slightly later or earlier to avoid the line.

Great fast food. Love the steak salad bowl, and we'll just about everything else. Highly recommend their service and food.

Tijuana Flats is my go to place for good and quick mexican food! I have never had a bad experience at this place! No matter what TF I go to the food is always fresh and high quality! Make sure you get the queso dip with your food! If you are looking for something on Tuesday and Thursday go here! Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, 2 tacos, chips and a drink for under 6 bucks Thursday is Throwback Thursday! Burrito, chips and a drink for under 6 bucks as well!

Taco Tuesday Lunch, Drinks and chips guacamole all for 2 well under $20. Service is great as well as the food. If your going for lunch get in early because it gets busy.

Love the fresh food and hit sauce bar and crushed ice. My fave is to add the sweet chili to the queso and dip away! Also like that you can balance that out with a Power Lite option of low fat cheese and sour cream. My cheat meal first choice!

Being a health food enthusiast, it can be difficult to find suitable fast food. Upon taking my trip to Daytona Beach, I stumbled upon a fantastic Tex-Mex place offering all fresh ingredients, hormone free meat, no canned items ever, vegetarian lard free beans and no Trans fats! They also offer complete vegetarian & gluten free options. The service was friendly and very fast, even though the place was packed, with more patrons were lining up to place their order. You can dine in or place your order to go, and they offer a huge hot sauce bar with sauces labeled "sissy" all the way to "death wish". You can also purchase you favorite sauce to take home if you like. I ordered the "Dos Tacos" which is in essence a "meal deal" where you get two tacos, any meat, chips and a drink for a little more than $5.00. After finishing the entire meal, I felt great. Not at all the sluggish, overstuffed feeling I would typically get after woofing down Taco Bell or Hacienda. If you value your health, your time and the taste of your meals, try Tijuana Flats. You will be glad you did!

Good service and great food! I ordered two beef tacos while my friend got a chicken and bean burrito. We both enjoyed our meals. The tacos were actually full of fillings vs. other taco places. All orders come with a variety of toppings and when you order at the counter you tell them what you want and then they'll bring it to your table. Tortilla chips were brought with our orders (salsa costs extra). It took less than ten minutes for us to get our food. In the middle of the restaurant there's a stand with a variety of sauces and there's a giant screen TV that was playing the Olympics. There are cool murals throughout the restaurant. The only issue was it would have been nice if I had been given a receipt at the counter (Should have been handed one, granted after not being handed one I should have asked but forgot till after we sat down). On Fridays I hear they have live music and a balloon artist. It's located minutes away from the Sanford Mall. Tijuana Flats offers specials on certain days, make sure to check out their website/Facebook pages!

I went here after driving back from North Florida, and I was starving. Their burrito saved my life! I love the fact that they have a hot sauce/toppings bar, and you can try all the different spices with your burrito and chips - it keeps things from getting boring, even towards the end of the giant burrito. Their chips were fantastic too, and tasted like they just made them. As a one time Gainesville resident this place is close to my heart. I love it!

Taco Tuesday is always the best day to go! Saves you quite a few dollars. Some new face faces there improving wether you do it don't get refills!

This is probably the worst Tijauna Flats location. Very, very, very slow. Sometimes you will get the food before the appetizers.

I've been to several Tijuana Flats, but this was my first visit to this particular location. The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean (including the bathroom), and the customer service was on point. In fact, the manager was walking around checking on all the tables including ours. The other employees would offer to refill our drinks and would clear the table whenever they saw us set something aside. Although I live in Altamonte, the next time I'm shopping in this area, I will definitely eat here again.

Average and barely fresh food; Relatively poor and unfriendly service. Luckily a Chipotle is opening nearby...

I've eaten at this location a few times, very good service and food. Like the layout and even when it's packed you can find a table, get your hot sauce at the bar and enjoy your meal. Service is great, last visit was with a group of us- so many drink refills and table clearings. Hubby and I liked the hot sauce at the counter that they were clearing out, found some new favorites, 3 bottles for $10. Score!

Good blackened chicken flautas, nachos, taco salad. Queso is inconsistent. It's one of our regular lunch stops.

Tijuana Flats is very similar to QDoba or Chipolte except that at Tijuana Flats they have a bar in the middle of the restaurant with several different salsas to try. The salsas range from "Sissy" (mild) to "Death" (super hot). The salsas are all available to purchase too. Service was quick and friendly and the place was clean and inviting. I thought the food was on the bland side (hence the salsa bar) and the portions rather small. For instance, at Chipolte or QDoba I can order a burrito and get two meals out of it. At Tijuana Flats I easily finished my meal. Tijuana Flats sells beer which goes nicely with the food.

My co-workers really talked this place up especially because of all of their sauces. It appears that many other people really like it to as the place was packed. My experience was not the greatest. Maybe the fish tacos just were not the thing to get? How can you put other sauces on that type of a taco? They gave me chips, but no salsa. I then asked for salsa and wow was it bland! I had to dump a hot sauce in it to make it taste good at all. Disappointment overall based on others opinions.

  • Teresa S.

Food's great. But the order line is always super slow even when there is only one person ahead. Smelled a tad bit like the back door was open and the dumpster wind was coming in, so we sat outside. Generally ok, but not my favorite TF... Love the brand, just don't want to repeat my order three times... Especially as simple as my order is. We'll go back of course, but stepping up their game would be great!

Always delicious. I love their hard beef tacos and hot sauce bar! I am never disappointed. It's consistent and delicious.

This place was one of the most pleasant surprises of our trip. Stopping in here, is like burrito heaven. I personally believe that it's the sauce that makes the burrito, and this place is just a testimony to that. Excellent, quick service, with delicious food has me craving one of the burritos now. You have a choice, in refried or black beans, which is always a plus, choice in meat, and then an extravagant display of sauces. Enjoy everything from atomic hot, to sweet and spicy. They handled our group (20 people) extremely well and seemed very welcoming. Not much more to ask for except maybe opening up one in Virginia.

Went in on a Thursday for their 5.99 burrito, chips, and a drink promotion ordered a regular burrito and 3 bangin chicken burritos and after I had paid I realized that I was charged regular price for the bangin chicken burittos. I had to ask about and was simply told the promo doent include them. Nothing on their singage for the promo indicated this. I left feelibg baited and switched. Cashier who rang me up had zero personality or customer service skills. Wilk not be comming back to this location.

Out of all the Tijuana Flats locations, this one is the best. The service is very professional, the food tastes GREAT, and the employees are nicer than your grandmother! Overall, this place is a great place to eat. Avoid the other TF in Lake Mary, and come to this location! It attracts a nicer crowd too!

I LOVE TIJUANA FLATS! Great service, delish food, great salsa, and their sweet tea rocks. It can be a little pricey, but it's so worth it. :)

Love Taco Tuesdays - tacos are what drew me to TF way back in the early 2000s in Orlando. Love the beef crunchy with sweet chili sauce. My fav lately, though, are the tostadas - yummy! The staff at this TJ is always friendly and helpful. It's a nice location, my only wish is that they had more parking. I can always find a place, I just have to walk a little further. Probably a good way to walk off the queso sauce!

Yesterday, my wife and I were dying for some Mexican food so we decided to go to Tijuana Flats. We chose Tijuana Flats because of the good reviews online and the fact that my wife is from Tijuana. We were initially impressed by the decor and the friendly welcome we received from the staff. We really liked the young hip atmosphere and the cool hot sauce bar, plus the prices were very reasonable. However, the food was very poor. I ordered the fish tacos which were way too sweet. The sauce was overpowering and I couldn't taste any of the other ingredients. My wife ordered the medium steak burrito which was massive - no wonder there is an obesity epidemic in this country. Besides the size, the burrito had very little steak and contained black olives which seemed a little bit unusual. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food I wouldn't recommend Tijuana Flats.

Love TF! This location has a friendly staff and some outdoor seating which is great in nice weather. The hot sauce bar is an island in the middle of the restaurant which makes it easier to access instead of against the wall.

My 13 year old daughter wanted to take us here. My wife and mine first time here. Pretty cool place. The staff was very nice and explained us everything and how it worked with the food. Had no complaints on the food. All was very good. Both my daughters ate there whole meal and I was happy with that and shows the food was really good. Glad we stopped here.

I have been to this Flats many a time with no issues. That streak ended today. Cold queso that set a tone for cold cheese in my quesadilla. When I asked for the queso to be warmed, no microwave, so I got another one....colder still. Looks like this will be one to only get takeout from.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
