Takote Chill n Go Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This place looks like a museum/restaurant. I think it's a very modern concept restaurant as their check out is done on modern electronics. All the design in here is very sleek and clean. They have two led screen tvs. They also have built in shadow box like display cases into the walls. The walls feature authentic Mexican food. I ordered guacamole from the appetizer section and the enchiladas from the entree section. We were promptly greeted and asked if we wanted to sit in or take out. I chose sit in and they came to my table to take my order. They are super quick with your order. I believe coming here for quick tacos was a very great decision. I spent a total of about $15 including Tip. Best taco I have ever had. Which sucks because I live an hour south.

A few updates after my review: 1.- The people working in here are as nice as they are slow it takes forever to prepare and deliver your food to the table. 2.- I ordered twice by phone, first time they forgot to prepare and pack an item of my order I had to come back to the restaurant. The second time I called to order some "tortas" after 20 minutes they called me back to tell me they don't have one ingredient to make my torta... After 20 minutes... Ridiculous!!! Food is good, personnel here need some training. I'm never coming back.

Small and clean, the artwork was bright and interesting. Tv broadcast in Spanish playing. A very small menu that looked good. Friendly lady took our order. There was one large party waiting for their order. We were just there to try a few tacos - not a full meal. We got a 3 taco plate. One pork, one chorizo and one nopales. It took forever! Probably 30-40 minutes to get 3 tiny tacos that took all of 2 minutes to eat. Pork ok, chorizo very tasty, nopales tasteless. I really wanted to like it. :(

Very authentic Mexican tacos, the "al pastor" taste better than many I had in Mexico. I definitely recommend this place. The salsas area ok these is something that they could really improve. They make their own tortillas and the places is very clean and well decorated, you feel like you are in Mexico. Love this place

Definitely a diamond in the rough... Worth checking out. Super friendly and courtesy staff, DELICIOUS chicken enchiladas. Tasty Al Pastor tacos are served on corn tortillas (just like in TJ) and their prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity you receive. Been there a few times now and it's becoming my favorite take out place. Place is always clean and tidy. They also have tables and usually not very busy when I go (7-8pm). Perhaps they're too hidden away or I'm lucky enough to avoid the dinner crowd. Either way, this a place you'll be very happy you tried out.

Good, but not awesome! The place is clean and amazing... The team very gentle...but the food is not what I'm used to ..

Awesome tacos!! This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is excellent and the restaurant is immaculately clean, including the restrooms. The saying goes, "the kitchen is only as clean as the restrooms." The family that runs this place are always smiling, and for good reason, this makes the Mexican food served at other local Mexican restaurants look and taste like slop.

I love the food there. The people are nice and polite. The place is neat and clean. Want a good Mexican food? Try this.

They just opened about 2 months ago. The decor is quite nice for this type of neighborhood and very clean. Guacamole is made to order, I appreciated that. The chips that comes with the guac is quite good. It's it's thicker and very crunchy. I tried for different types of tacos, I highly recommend the chorizo and the pork.. Those are very tasty!! The chicken is a bit to try for me and the steak is just mediocre. We also got the chicken enchilada and this was by far my favorite. Really great tasting flavors and the sauce is ridiculously delicious! We also asked for everything to be spicy but it really wasn't that spicy. Perhaps my spice tolerance is just higher than most people's preference. We will most likely revisit this place again. I still want to try the tostada!!

Where this place has been? This is an authentic taqueria. They do not only have tacos, but they do have Mexican dishes. The have the Pastor (trompo as they call it in Mexico), and the Guacamole is fantastic. First time I ordered only tacos because as they said if Pastor is good everything is good, and let me tell you Pastor is amazing just like Mexico. I've been in Mexico City several times. The second time I ordered enmoladas and my wife enchiladas. Everything amazing. And the staff is very gentle and kind. If it is full it takes some time for your food to be delivered because everything is as ready. I don't know why this place doesn't have 5 stars people do not know about food.

Amazing! delicious! authentic! Superb service and fascinating original art work everywhere. Please if you are in South Florida come try out this hidden gem at the end of a strip mall next to huge Latin Supermarket. Clean bright open kitchen so you can watch all of your food being prepared. Cool tortilla machine and house made bread for the sandwiches or tortas as they are called. Steak has a great flavor with what ever marinade they use. The chorizo has a unique spice blend that is like a Mexican party in your mouth. They have rotating specials, so try them when available. Also, unique things like cactus salad or taco. I just can't say enough about the great experience we had here. The waitress was friendly always helpful and gave us some free treats to try. I can't wait to go back to try breakfast and other items like the breakfast.

Very neat and quietly tucked away on the south side of Sample road just east of Riverside Dr. Don't expect a lot of variety of Mexican food. But they have some good food. My favorites: Guacamole & Pastor (Mexican marinated pork) and their special of the day, which was CHILE EN NOGADA : Poblano pepper filled with ground beef and topped with pomegranate and a nutty sauce. This was very different and delicious from the regular Mexican food I've ever had. I've posted a pic of this. The flautitos de pollo wasn't 'spicy' (read flavorful) enough for me but their sauces will do the job. The meat tasted fresh. And THEY MAKE THEIR OWN TACOS. Its a very welcoming place and It's worth a try !

What an amazing find!!! We took a chance and have to say this Cinco De Mayo was a success because of the staff, food and friendliness of Takote!! I can speak higher of the food. It was literally unbutton my pants because I am full good!!

The place is small & comfy and very clean. It has Mexican art work & crafts throughout. Kinda reminds me of inside the Mexican pavilion at Epcot. The prices are very reasonable & the service was fast & friendly. I ordered 5 tacos, they are your typical authentic shell size, not very big. I tried all the options. Chicken, Steak, Pork, Chorizo & the Cactus (its like green peppers kinda) They were all good. They give you some sauces on the side also. I will go back for sure. I want to try some other items that looked good on the menu.

Great place. Seems to be family run ? Great tasting Mexican food at reasonable prices. Their guacamole appears to be homemade. Delicious. Chicken enchiladas are first-rate and highly recommended. A shame the place is virtually hidden in a strip shopping center. A hidden gem

The food is very fresh, the dining room is clean and beautifully presented and the derive is homey and personal. Tortillas are made fresh in one of those nifty machines with the glass walls. They have Mexican Coke and horchata. The salsas are good and the guacamole is fresh. The only thing killing this place for me is the meat is overlooked and rock hard on the asado (steak) and pork. The shredded chicken was dry. Meat is the center of gravity around which Mexican dishes orbit, so sadly I have to kick it down two for that. Get the meat a bit less like it has been sitting in the Sahara and this place would earn the ratings that brought me here. A little too enthusiastic

Awesome!! As good as any tacos I've had in Mexico. Very clean. Family run which is charming. Some have said its not what they are used too. I guess you are not used to good Mexican food. Six stars!!

Reading the reviews is what brought us here.... True authentic Mexican food is hard to find.... This is the real deal! Tacos de pollo, tacos de pastor, tacos de asada, chorizo con queso, quesadillas y tostados.... DELICIOUS!!! Will definitely be back! The decor is beautiful. Extremely clean restaurant.

I just noticed this new restaurant yesterday, and I was excited to try it out. I love me some Mexican food, and this seemed like a very special little place. So, I'm one of those annoying healthy eaters. I realize that what I eat, will either go straight to my ass or my tummy, so I was sure to start off the day with a run as I knew where I was going for lunch! I visited at 12:30 on a Thursday afternoon and the place was empty. The restaurant has only been open for 2 weeks and is somewhat hidden on the end corner of a plaza. There were about 5 employees in the kitchen who looked eager to serve me. The kitchen has an open design which is super so you can see them prepare your food. Amado greeted me at the cash register. I told him that I had never been there and he started to explain the the menu and the different specials to me. I later asked him if he was the owner, he said no, but he seems to run things and takes great pride in the restaurant. I didn't want to get a huge amount of food, but I did want to sample a few main items. I decided to order 2 individual tacos and some chips and salsa. I ordered bistec and al pastor (spit grilled pork) tacos. The total came to about $7.00. A bit about the décor of this restaurant. Now, all Mexican restaurants are cheerily and brightly decorated, and this was no exception. However, for a fast food restaurant this place is classy. It is truly set up like a museum. It is quite apparent that the owner has a huge amount of pride for his country, and seems to feel quite strongly about sharing this with his/her customers. There are a lot of statues, art, and displays of typical things found in Mexico. Absolutely beautiful and extremely interesting. The hallway to the bathroom is also adorned with decorations as well as a huge wall of framed photos of famous people and stunning scenery. I really like the way this place is decorated and everything was perfectly tidy and clean. I went to the restroom to wash my hands, the restroom was impeccable. When I sat down at my table, my drink, chips and salsa were brought to me by a friendly young lady. I had three choices of salsa, mild, medium and hot and I chose medium. The chips were very thick and hard, not the flimsy kind that you usually find in Latin restaurants. They were very good, not greasy. My tacos came out and they were smaller than I thought they would be, but for me, that is just perfect as I prefer smaller meals. (Individual tacos are $1.95, or you can get 3 tacos and a drink for $6.49 or 5 tacos and a drink for $9.99) The tacos had the meat, cilantro, onions and a lime on the side. Both were very good, very filling, and very satisfying. I enjoyed the beef taco better as I'm not really a pork person. I ate them both pretty quickly and continued to finish the basket of chips. Each table's napkin holder has an interesting fact about Mexico on it. (I told you the owner really wants the customers to learn about Mexico)! While I munched on my chips, I read about the Mexican hairless dog, the Xoloitzcuintle. I found it very interesting because I have a hairless cat. As I stood up to go the lady came back to clear my table and Amado came by and asked how I liked the food. It was superb Amado, I think I've found my new favorite place for a quick and healthy meal (minus the chips next time) in town! I'll be back, with friends!

I'd been meaning to check this place out for a couple months. Upon entry, I was taken back by the Decour and kitchen. Everything was spotless and well-kept and visually stimulating. The bright fluorescent lighting could lose a few lumens... But at least you could see how clean the place was. I ordered guacamole n chips which is made fresh and delicious. A taco el Pastor and a pastor torta super (combo #3). The taco was delicious, but I expected that. What it wasn't expecting was the torta to be mind meltingly delicious. I honestly couldn't get enough. I really can't wait to go back and eat another one. The young gentleman that was helping me was incredibly patient and polite. I had questions about the menu and he was more than happy to explain everything to me go as far to offering me samples. The sample in question was grilled cactus which I'd never heard of. I happily invited such a sample and it was actually quite exquisite. I'm really happy this place opened up in my neighborhood. I will be doing everything I can to spread the word of such delicious Mexican fare.

This place is definitely worth checking out. We had questions and they took their time explaining each dish and letting us know that we could customize the heat level on anything. We started with the guacamole and chips. Oh and beer. ...Modelo and Negra Modelo. Guacamole was made to order, full of flavor, very creamy and the chips were house made, real fried tortillas... nice and thick and crunchy. I had the Sopesitas Takote... Thick crunchy fried tortillas topped with beans, lettuce, cheese, cream and meat of choice. They let me mix it up and have two with pork and one with chicken. I asked for a cup of salsa on the side and again they let me choose how hot. Hubby had the enchiladas and loved it! 4 tortillas with chicken, covered with a flavorful salsa verde, cheese and cream with a side of refried beans. We decided to go ahead and try a few tacos to taste the other meats. The beef was really good and I will definitely have more of it next time. The chorizo was so full of different spices and it was hubby's favorite. Oh and the place is adorable... Full of Mexican artwork, figurines, and sculptures. You can really feel the authenticity in their hospitality.... they are happy to have you in their establishment. The tortilla machine is awesome!!!!

What a surprise. Found this via Siri. This place is a gem. Clean, friendly and the food is really good. Better than I expected. Great portions, very good flavors. The decor is awesome. So many Mexican treasures to look at. But really the food is the best part. Straightforward and authentic. The Guacamole and Pico are excellent. Definitely, worth a visit.

Have been looking for real mexican food here for awhile, finally found it. Sorry, chini's down the street is tex mex. Not the real deal. This is. I loved the tacos here and service was super friendly. The inside has amazing artwork which I wasn't expecting. Somebody walked out because they didn't have burritos...well, good...that is not real mexican. I will definitely be back here. Would love for them to put some Cabeza or linguica on the menu also! See pics for my first order. It's also super clean inside, and they have a serious tortilla press in there. Everything is made to order.

I stop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. All of the food in this family owned establishment is fresh and made on site. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the decor is authentic. Every dish I've tried has been over the top and a great value!

Small little joint that makes authentic, affordable Mexican food. I had the three taco lunch special, which includes a drink, all for $6.49. You can choose your taco filling. I went chicken and steak. The food is prepared fresh when you order and was quite tasty. Very friendly staff provided all the information you could ask for. A nice hidden gem. In the same plaza as IHOP near the old Roy's location. They also serve breakfast. Check them out.

Real authentic Mexican food. Everything is made fresh to order including the tortillas and chips. Fresh, clean, friendly, and delicious I'll definitely be back. You know it's legitimate when you see an old Mexican woman cooking the food. You should definitely try the cactus tacos.

This is a wonderful hidden gem! The outside of this place would fool anyone!! Right when you walk in you are greeted by beautiful Mexican artistry -- seriously, its so beautiful and so tastefully displayed. The food is really good and authentic. My boyfriend had the carne asada; it was delicious! My mom had two tacos, again she said it was really Good. I recommend this place!

  • Charles J.

Honestly the people are so nice & they are trying really hard and the kitchen is spotless. Everything is fresh. The one thing that is really holding this place back is the texture of the meats & chicken. The chicken is very very dry and not marinated. Same with the beef. Any other place has marinated meats & marinated chicken that is soft, tender and juicy. Nobody wants dry meat. It's a shame because the people are so nice & pleasant.

Excellent Find!!! First, the place is REALLY clean and decorated really cute. They have Mexican artifacts all over the wall (that actually look like they are worth something.) If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this is the place. Small menu but great food and everything is homemade. My husband and I both had tacos and they were outstanding. We also shared a spicy onion sauce that we dipped chips in. I would check it out if your looking for the real deal!

Great Mexican food, they have the real deal Tacos al Pastor. The Mole was scratch made and the tortillas are made daily. The owners are very nice and this is the best Mexican food I have found in Broward. I would come back over and over just for the tacos al pastor. The torta was very good with the right bread and good beans.

My wife and I wanted to go out last Saturday night, and in what has become a habit, she searched yelp for Mexican restaurants in our area. Lo and behold a new one had just opened some two or three weeks earlier and it was just around the corner from our house. This casual, laid-back Mexican restaurant is many, many steps above a Taco Bell. The decor is bright and cheerful and punctuated with various, eye pleasing Mexican art pieces arranged in glassed-in niches in the wall. The server, a young lady who struggled with English, immediately came out of the kitchen area and greeted us with a smile. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, but later three or four other groups came in. They were all Mexican which gave us a good feeling that we might, for the first time, experience a meal that Mexicans themselves might be eating back home. I ordered the enchilada with refried beans and my wife ordered a pork sandwich whose name I don't remember. The enchilada was not like anything I have had before. It took a few bites to get used to the new flavor and after that it was clear sailing, quite delicious. The one thing that suprised me was that it was spicy hot, not bad, not too hot, but I have never had spicy before in an enchilada. I am definately going back, perhaps as early next weekend. I want to try the tacos. I expect they will be different too :) And, as my boss always has good restaurant recommendations for me, it will be a pleasure to have a good recommendation for him for a change! Oh, and I forgot to mention, the prices are very low. Dinner for two ended up costing under $21. We loved the service and the food and left a good tip on top of that.

I love this place. They do the standards really well, but then they have a nice mix of interesting items to keep you coming back and trying more. It appears to be family owned and operated. Everyone working there has always been really friendly and helpful. You can't beat REAL Al Pastor tacos for less than 2 bucks. Get 3 and they give you a soda to wash them down. They make their tortillas (corn) on site as well as their bread for the torta. I love the artwork and little chotchkies to look at while they make your tacos to order. Much unlike another taco place I used to love, El Agave Azul, who have seemingly moved all food "prep" to steam tables and all they have to peer at is a TV. Unlike Erin L., who ate here the same day as me, I did not find the nopales tasteless. My wife and I both enjoyed them. This was my first time eating them. They came out hot, covered in melty cheese. They were good! I used their green sauce on them, which added a bit more flavor and helped bring out the taste of the cactus. If I had one suggestion for the owners, it would be to have some kind of dessert available. Some mexican wedding cookies made fresh in your oven, some ice creams in the freezer doesn't seem like a big deal. Try them out!

Love it!! If you want real Mexican food, this is the place, I had the tacos al pastor, chicken and chorizo with cilantro and onions . It reminded me when I used to leave in Mexico City. Can't wait to go back and try the tortas. Friendly staff.

A must go! These people have taken a "hole in the wall" style authentic Mexican taqueria or street cart and turned it into a nice, open, clean, well decorated restaurant without losing none of the flavor and authenticity of Mexican street food. They kept the menu simple (as is the case with most authentic taquerias), but there is enough variety for everyone. The restaurant is on a strip mall in coral springs, but due to the decor and the open feel to the place, Takote will be at home in any swanky part of town. The food is full of flavor and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

I grew up in Mexico and to find authentic mexican food is very difficult,, takote is superb, excellent service, exceptionally clean and the decoration makes me proud to say this is an authentic mexican restaurant in south florida.

Wow! Where did this place come from? Great food and service and a setting that is hard to believe - a first class art gallery and museum of Mexican art. All tucked away in the most obscure corner of a strip mall. New local treasure.

Friendly service, great guacamole and a bright, clean, creative restaurant were not enough to make up for the Substandard, cold & rather stale entrees. Terrific for a quick snack or brief meeting, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere if you'd like to have a more meaningful meal.

Excellent service and food! Came all the way from Miami for this pleasant surprise. Read the reviews and it's true. The place is clean, well lit, and it has authentic Mexican feel. Run by a family, you'll feel right at home. Loved the decorations too. Wish they had tripitas tacos (tripe). Otherwise, loved it!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
