It's been about 5 years since I've been to this fabulous shop. This is a cute little place with trays upon trays of nummy jerk ready to be served. The people are knowledgeable and ready to get you your meal quickly. I like to compliment my hot jerk with a nice pineaple soda (or something sweet). You get quite a deal here - and the jerk is better than pretty much any other place I've tried it (haven't been to Jamaica though...)

I have had patties....none as good as these. You will not find better. This location has a favorite drive thru donut place nearby, but you won't have room. I always need a box of these delightful treats to go. Fresh, home style taste. MUST try meat loaf and coco bread. Love the jerk chicken but curry chicken is nice too. Very fair prices and quick service. They don't smile as much as I do...but the staff is friendly and helpful.
Best Patties and Coco Bread in South Florida! A must visit for everyone. Everything is very fresh and delightful. The cakes are awesome too!
Leaving Florida, this is what I remember. Coming back to Jersey and then eating a piece of Coco bread out the bag is so disappointing. Charlie's makes it fresh and hot. It is a light, buttery bread that melts when you eat it with the patty. Love the variety they have and the authenticity!

I walked into this restaurant and chose a shrimp Creole entree. The dish came with four good sized prawns, plantains, and a mound of black beans and rice. The spicy tomato sauce blended wonderfully with the shrimp, and the sweet plantains, and savory black beans completed the dish. I finished the meal with a strong Cuban coffee.
They only deliver until5. Had the mexican tacos, seasoning was great, meat was alittle tough. Mexican husband had the ropa vieja, it was ok, have had better though, mostly in miami. Theblack beans were delicious
Went here for late lunch/early dinner with a groupon. I called beforehand to verify they would honor the groupon based on some of the other reviews on here. They said yes as long as it was from the dinner menu. Prices of the dinners were fair-ranging from $11.95-15.95 so easily doable for 2 people to stick close to the $25 groupon amount. Now, the food was tasty, but both my husband and I agree that it was not authentically Cuban. For one, there is no bistec empanizado on the menu, but they have Columbian bandeja de pais. There's also only a choice of black beans or red beans and no congri....every real Cuban restaurant has congri or morro. We also got chips and salsa when we sat down-Another indicator the place is not Cuban. The black beans were alright, but again didn't taste very Cuban-there were carrots in them instead of usual pork or bay leaves-tasty, but not Cuban. We got the lechon and the masas de puerco which was good and the portion was large. They both had nice fresh sautéed onions and multicolored peppers which was refreshing. So overall not a bad deal if you have the groupon, but if you're looking for authentic Cuban there are so many other places to go to first.

I was in Tamarac, FL for the Labor Day weekend. My folks order here from and my dad enjoy's the Jerk Chicken. I'm always in the mood to try local restaurants that are do things correct. This place was very good. Here's my top 3 likes service was amazing everyone was polite and courteous( I was just questioning to sister while looking over the options if I wanted the jerk chicken or pork and the server heard and grabbed a small sample cup and let me sample the Jerk pork. I like that type of going the extra mile service - I ordered both) menus available at the door, so you can select while waiting in line, and the portions were on point 2 meals feed 3 people with leftovers for lunch the next day. 3 dislikes or could be better - I don't have any because it was my first visit. I'm planning another visit soon to FL and will update. I'm looking forward to trying the fried chicken and the breakfast options look good. I did try the black cake - I liked it, could have more rum flavor but it was moist. Overall, amazing service, good food and plentiful portions. I'm from New York so the friendly service from a West Indian spot was a welcome change of pace. Cheers!
I've been here a few times. The first time was in March. I ordered ox tails with rice and peas. I wasn't happy with it at all. But recently I decided to revisit them. I got curry chicken with white rice. I loved it! The rice was cooked perfectly. The curry chicken was a bright yellow, unlike a few restaurants where it's darker in color. The seasoning was perfect. The last few times I've gone, I ordered ox tails again, they were delicious and tender. The portions are huge and worth the price. I recently tried their ackee and salt fish. It is awesome! Not too salty, has spice but not to much. I'm very happy with their food and glad I gave them another try.
This location is set in front of a shopping center off of Commercial Boulevard. I only have one vistit to go off of but passed by here, saw the drive thru and Tiffany C's review ( thanks Tiffany and said why not? So I ordered the escovitch fish with rice and peas and salad and plantains. Well they missed the plantains but honestly the food was so tasty- that I didn't notice until I thought of it later! The other thing that made me scream yeeeees is the young lady at the drive thru was extremely patient and smiley through all of my newbie questions, then here is the zinger! Escovitch is typically $13 a plate- she charged me $10 as my fish was small. How many businesses are their employees empowered to do the right thing??!! I would not even had known better- so I appreciate honesty, good service and doing what is right for your customers! Aslo while in the drive through I could see others wiping down and keeping things cleaned. For lunch specials it is all day everyday for $4.75 you get rice and peas or white rice plantains salad and varieties of chicken. I have had curry brown stew and jerk chicken so far. Spices have been yummy and foot hot and yummy!!. I love they have a drive thru!!! The escovitch was on point!!! Breakfast begins at 7:30 with your staples auch as saltfish and ackee, liver, etc. I have had the saltfish and ackee with boiled bananas and fried dumpling. Again on point! Will keep you posted- but in the meantime, it is a tryer and a winner all the way for me for sure! :-)

Excellent service!...staff is super nice and all-smiles! Atmosphere is family-friendly and setting is spacious and a warm, cozy feel. Dining and food areas are clean and so is the restroom. Oh! and the pizzas are real New York style! Tasty and super-sized!!
Very pleasant and family orientated. When I ask my kids where do they want to eat they always say " that Italian place," I definitely can't argue. Great food, good environment and big smiles.
Goodfellas gets five stars from me. A loyal customer since opening in September, I find their food, service and the way I'm treated by all from the time I walk in till I leave makes me want to keep coming back. I eat at Goodfellas at least twice a week. Try their home made deserts, too. You too will want to keep coming back to Goodfellas. I love that place.

I was looking for a healthy dining place that is open late on a Sunday night and decided to give this place a try. I am so glad I did. I decided to order the vegetable balls in the "chef's special sauce". My waiter told me the sauce varies nightly depending on the chef's mood. Tonight's was a tomato and curry base. And it was delicious! I highly recommend you try the food here. I'll be back. (I'd love to come during the day to try out their buffet.) The service, btw, was excellent. Everyone was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating.
perfect delicious find here in the land of fast food chains and sit down chains . great service hot tasty food / I'll be back allot. yummy

Though it been ages since I've last had a patty from here prior to today....I've always preferred Hammond's beef patties. Goes back to my college days. The meat is more flavorful and though the crust is thinner than the usually patty place, it is my preference. I'd rather have tastier meat, as opposed to biting into a patty that's all crust or the meat is dry. The patties here are flaky, and judging from how busy they are, customers keep coming back.
best spicy patties!!!!!!!
Good Jamaican patties.

Great taste! Awesome grilled fish and so on. Love it!
Once again they have surpassed themselves. Third time here, and between us have tried 7 different entrees. Everything is always delicious, fresh and filling. We will be back again and again. One of our favorite places to eat.
This is my new favorite korean lunch spot in the area. It's very home style and nothing fancy but food quality is definitely reflected on and I get a feeling at home. I love the starters...roasted sesame and quality of oil used. Boogogi was very nicely prepared with nice touch of veggie. Lunch portion is just right. If you prefer American style massive portion, go to the other korean place across the street (though they don't have lunch menus so you have to shell out dinner price)

Cheap decent food, but service sucks.
Normally, you get what you pay for so yes, the posts about slow service are correct. However, I was greatly disappointed with their beef shank soup which looked like beef bone soup in the pic. As the other poster said about misleading pics, well, it was because not only did I not receive ANY pieces of beef, but I only got tendons. Despite this my fiance did not want to complain because that's not what we do, but I now realize I should have. At first I excused it as they're small, a hole in the wall, maybe business is slow, BUT now I realize I should have complained. Minji's if you are on the last leg of your business serving me that soup is not going to help your cause. Finally, even the sides were kinda bleh. Hot dogs, kimchi and semi-stale seaweed (kim) rectangles... My $9.99 was a big waste for bland soup with no meat, literally not even one piece but my fault for not saying anything until now.
Such a hidden little authentic Korean gem! I was there at lunch myself and got the Bubolgi. It was sooooooo good. It's a little hole in the wall restaurant with Korean drama played on tv while u dine (somehow it makes your meal more authentic I think!). Oh did I mention they have an excellent price? Try this place if you are into authentic Korean food. Oh they don't have Korean BBQ there.

Da Mee Rak

Reviews:
I went here on a whim- I was craving Korean BBQ- that might sound odd, but I was. I wanted to cook some Korean specialty over a hot burning personal stove. When I saw a yelp deal- I jumped on it. However, Da Mee Rak was just not great, the "BBQ" was a tin foil, small stove that cooked extremely slowly and poorly. The side dishes ranged from eatable to bad. The servers were very nice but everything else there was subpar. I wouldn't return here.
I kind of feel like the quality of the banchan + drink they give you when you finish your meal has downgraded over time. I've been coming to this restaurant for maybe 5 years now and they've changed managers like 2 times already. There used to be a very nice and soft spoken young man working here named Stefan but he either quit/was fired/moved :( It's always super clean inside, however I think the lime green paint on the tables is super tacky and just plain weird............, waiters/waitresses are always very attentive, meat + rice are nothing extraordinary but still great. They used to give mini cups of strawberry + banana smoothies to help get that garlic/oniony taste out of your mouth and it was great. Now they've switched to a disgusting (just in my opinion I'm sure there are many others who enjoy it) cinnamon + star anise vinegar wine concoction? I totally forgot what it was but I didn't like it. It was like drinking cinnamon water. They used to have thick slices of spicy marinated potatoes as part of their banchan. Things change I guess but I feel the quality has gone down a notch. Very expensive. But Korean BBQ typically is especially if you sit at a table with a grill and are required to order 2+ servings of meat. For any Korean BBQ amateurs, please try beef tongue, no matter which BBQ place you decide to go to. So nice and flavorful and chewy. It can either be super nice and quiet in the restaurant or pretty noisy (but a good kind of noisy not a screaming kid noisy). They've got a bar but I don't recall every seeing anybody sitting there. Found a roach in the bathroom a year or so ago when I went! But the bathrooms are never shithole dirty. The whole place is run by Koreans so I'm sure, being Asian myself, that they wouldn't let their kitchen become like that.
Had dinner there tonight with my wife. Very low key place. The food is very fresh and very good. I would recommend it to anyone interesting in trying a new Korean place. It will not disappoint at all and the service was really really good.
