This review is not necessarily of the Postcard Inn resort itself, but of the amazing Jet Ski tour that we took from the company "Hydrothunder" that operates through the water sport entertainment that Postcard Inn has to offer. The tour guides we followed during the waverunner tours were very professional and very knowledgable of the island history, all of the sandbars and the appropriate routes to take around mangroves and the immense wildlife that South Florida has to offer. The tour guide in the Islamorada area offered to mount a GoPro camera for our daughter so that she could record the entire trip. The tour guides asked us what pace we would like to go prior to the tour to gain an idea of how fast or slow we wanted to go. We were also given a window of suggested MPH, and even asked if we wanted a more low key smooth path or a path that is a little more challenging. We were also told the truth about how choppy waters would or would not be prior to the tour. With those experiences, we have to say that the customer service we personally received was top notch. The tiki bar is world famous and a lot of fun. We also enjoyed eating at Shula's. Word of advice: I've been in the restrooms outside of the resort by the gift shop twice now...and BOTH times, there has been vomit in the bathroom toilets. I highly doubt that intoxicated people have made messes in there during the daytime, so this means that it was in there from the night prior. PLEASE have your staff clean up the bathrooms around the clock so that those of us who know how to drink in moderation do not have to witness someone's mess that does not understand moderation. Thank you!

Very overpriced for what you get . We spent $200 per night and got a first floor view of a bunch of pick up trucks. Pass this place up

Worst hotel experience I have ever had (and I used to stay in hotels weekly for work). I got locked out of my room two nights in a row at 2 AM due to the key card contraption on the door not working. First night it took them an HOUR even have someone show up to fix it. Then, they asked me to come back to the front desk twice the following day to have it fixed (and being on vacation, my idea of standing in lines at front desk was not pleasant). They then wanted me to move rooms (again, not the way I wanted to spend my vacation). After all this, they said (after complaining several times) that they would refund my stay. I later find the amount billed to my credit card anyway, and after several calls to the hotel, still no response. Horrible customer service. On top of that, the rooms were overpriced for what they were (glorified motel rooms). Oh yeah, and the rooms have ants.

Ocean front view amazing, employees very nice, rooms large, grounds wellcared for. Very beachy & that's what we were looking for ( not another Marriott). Steamed clams at

I have done a ton of traveling in the US, Canada, Carribbean and Europe. I reside in Orlando, and we took our boat and trailed it to the Keys and stayed at the Postcard Inn. On the plus, side, the physical location is great. The staff super friendly. But everything after that falls waaaaay short. We paid $275 a night and $50 a night for a boat slip. The price was not an issue as we stayed 9 nights. We have stayed at many places much higher than this. However, this was supposed to be a resort with a resort setting. To be honest it was nothing more than a an old outdate motel that recently had the rooms cosmetically updated but the rest of the place is disastrous. Here is what we experienced: 1. AC unit was not running properly, kept turning off. They told us we were turning it down too low? Really???? the room was 80 degrees. 2. No ice machines worked in the entire hotel...had to go to bar for ice 3. Free coffee is always empty or they were out of sugar. Not one morning did I NOT have to ask for something in order to make my coffee. 4. Drain broke in bathroom and bathroom flooded. They never fixed it. 5. It rained and the roof continued to pour water on our patio, 8 hours after the rain stopped 6. They closed the laundry room for renovations, the closest laundro mat was 22 miles away...ever hear of a resort without laundry service???? Even the mom and pop place down the street for $50 a night had laundry!!!! 7. There were no activites at all, no beach volleyball, no organized activities at the pool, swim up bar closed, nothing for a steel drummer. Unfortunately if you want to stay in Islamaroda, this place is about as good as it gets. You wont find fine resorts like Ritz or Waldorfs unless you go to Key West. Next time we will stay for 2 weeks but will be renting a gorgeous condo on the water with private slip for less money and more amenities.

Great beach to hang at in Islamorada. Never stayed at the hotel, but I've seen the rooms; I guess livable for a short stay..? My boyfriend and take day or weekend trips there from Miami when we need the getaway feeling. Just don't go on a holiday (i.e. Memorial Day) unless you're looking for a spring break atmosphere and don't mind walking 3 miles to park. Regular weekends/weekdays it's a very relaxing atmosphere and the frozen drinks are delicious. Can't go wrong with live reggae either. Never eaten at the huts outside but it looks like typical fried food and seafood munchies. They also rent jetskiis. Nice time to hang with a few friends or as a couple. Just note, if you're not staying at the hotel, it's $20 per chair on the beach (UGH!) THIS REVIEW DONE WHEN POSTCARD WAS HOLIDAY ISLE - Need to revisit!

Went there once with friends living in South Florida. I thought it was pretty kitsch. But they have a nice set-up on the beach...and it's a nice beach. I rarely drink alcohol, but along with the others in the party, I ordered a Tiki John's Rumrunner. At first, it tastes pretty benign. Then, the buzz sets in and puts you out of commission. Wait a LONG time between a Rumrunner (tasty) and getting behind the wheel. I don't know why this key is called Islamorada (the purple isle)...it looks turquoise to me, like the rest of the Florida Keys.

Dear Holiday Isle, You are the mecca of heathenism!!! But in a good way. Here there are no rules and everything is game. You can play at the Tiki Bar, rent a boat from the marina, go jet skiing, have dinner, and even stay at the hotel. There's even a beach and chairs to lay out and have some good sun-worshiping time. Holiday Isle is an all inclusive playground for adults. Strict on carding when the sun goes down, and expect to pay a new $10 cover just to get into the complex (then again, it was Memorial Day weekend, so maybe that's why you were charging...). Lots of good times are to be had here, so make sure you come with your fun hat on, a smile on your face, a bathing suit and some cash in your pocket. Rent a jet ski, rent a boat, go water skiing, but PLEASE do something water-sport related, Thanks for being in existence Holiday Isle. There were some years in the past were nasty rumors circulated about your closing, but in the end, after renovations, you came through and survived!!!! We will be down having drinks very soon. And to think, I first graced your presence 11 years ago... WOW. Time flies! Much Love, Sabrina*

Worst beach place I've ever stayed. Came on Memorial Day weekend and little did I know that they had opened the "resort" (notice the quotations) up to the public for $10 a head. Every Cuban hood rat from Miami packed into this place wearing wife beaters and basketball shorts. They took over all the bars, littered, and blared Spanish rap music until 4 am with no action from the hotel staff. They were letting these outsiders bring coolers full of beer into the place, while I got in trouble for walking out of my room with a can in my hand. This was seriously the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen. And that was just the trouble with letting shady outsiders in. On top of that, we arrived at 3:30pm (check in time) and had to wait until 4 until our rooms were ready. There were armies of ants in our room, the "restaurant" on site was terrible and took my buddy 45 minutes just to get an order of bacon and eggs one morning. They automatically included tip into everything you bought there and treated you to a "no outside alcohol or food" policy like an all-inclusive resort, except nothing was included! All of this for $250+/night. This is not the place to stay. Unless you like drunk retards knocking on your room door at 4 am looking for their friends.

Stay here if you don't mind the rooms being kind of gross but the grounds being beautiful. Beach is awesome and the pool is nice. The gross parts of the rooms are the bathrooms. We stayed in the main building with an ocean view- so waking up to the ocean each morning was awesome- otherwise this place would not have worked. Do not stay over the weekend- their Tiki Bar blasts horrible music until 1:30 AM and there is no escaping that music. We stayed in the main building as far away from the tiki bar as you could get and we still left three nights early because I could not bear listening to house music one more night!!

Stayed here this past summer for 3 days. Rooms were decent size nice and clean and were recently renovated. If your into fishing you can rent a boat right next door at the marina or you can fish off of the docks in the back of the hotel. There are many options for eating at the hotel but the food is def nothing to write home about you are better off eating at islamorada fish house or something along those lines. The pool was nice and the beach is def more than adequate. Overall I had a good time and wouldn't hesitate on coming back again.

Formerly known as Holiday Isle, they have homogenized this into what is now called the Postcard Inn Resort. As a Miami local whose adult life has played out in weekend getaways to the Florida Keys, this is a long-standing landmark, which has now been forever ruined. They did away with Kokomo's Bar, the reggae stage and band, along with its sandpit for dancing and conga lines that sometimes ran through the complex and the pool! They also did away with the wonderful little Bohemian shops that lined the marina, where you could pick up anything from henna tattoos to colorful, hand-made fashion jewelry. It used to feel like a Bahamian getaway. Now it feels like a cookie cutter chain motel, as all the character and unique flavor has been stripped from this once-island getaway. Thank God they left the excellent Raw Bar alone, with its rustic, informal seating along the water's edge. The privilege of tipping for a chaise lounge to spend the day, along with use of the pool and its beach are long gone. The rooms are definitely more upscale now, but I'd trade that in for yesterday's Holiday Isle.

Good time. Went on an overnighter. Me and wife had. Fun eating and drinking. Beach and pool were fun, just wish people had more control of their offspring. You always know a hispanic family from Miami, the one that is yelling across the pool , please don't mine me resting my head, to the kids that are running uncontrolled . Sorry no more rant. Rooms very clean, get sheets, and surprising very low noise in the room. Going back very soon. Bar were a blast at night. It's not a party until a drunk women falls back off a barstool and the other with no rhythm start to dance. Thanks for all the entertainment.

Got a deal for this place through livingsocial. Make sure you try and get an upgraded room over looking the ocean. Room was clean and new. Only problem was the air conditioner was next to the bed so that blew on you all night. Plenty of bars within 100 feet. Worth the stay if you do the livingsocial.

When I think about cocktails in the Keys, I think Holiday Isle. A massive Tiki bar, right beside a marina, this place has atmosphere up the wazoo. We've been here a few times - when it was crowded, and when it was utterly and completely dead. I dig it both ways. It's fun with the crowds - very festive & tropical. They have lots of events here, and also do "theme nights" on occasion. We did stop in it while bar hopping one Sunday night in the season, and we were the ONLY customers. Not a good sign. Love their frozen drinks, which come out of machines. Lol, what can I say, no one makes a frozen drink better than an automatic mixer! (Although they're easy on the alcohol that way, obviously). Grab a drink and take a stroll around the property. Check out the boats, gaze out at the water ... there's even a little gift shop. You won't wanna leave - I never do.

A tradition began about 4 years ago when a couple of friends and I decided to take a night trip to the tiki bar on the Sunday night before memorial day. Usually we slot a 5-5 time frame on it for organizational purposes. The only thing I can say is that the Tiki Bar does not disappoint. Great music, casual ambiance, and drinks flowing freely. I have enjoyed my time there each time. This time, however, there was something off. The turn out had diminished drastically and now they're charging $15 a head to get in. Depending on the time you arrive I'd say it isnt worth the $15 but its a good time and well worth it if you show up in the late afternoon and stay till the wee hours of the morning. All in all I can say that you wont be disappointed in coming here. Only on this one day though, I've come here a couple of times on other days and it is completely deserted. So I'd just play it by ear.

I've been going to the World Famous Tiki Bar here at Holiday Isle for years now. It started sometime in 2005 on a Memorial Day weekend when every place in the Keys was packed. We arrived early on in the morning and stayed all day (well on into the night, about 2am). I just recently went back to visit last weekend and had a similar wonderful experience (minus the packed Memorial Day crowd). As someone below mentions in their review, my biggest complaint is that they are very strict on carding. We ordered the same drinks at least 5 times from the same person and got carded all 5 times; I'm all for abiding to the law, but geez... how many times can they card you? The drinks are great... strawberry rum runners are our favorites, but the drinks are a little pricey. The great thing is you can always rest off your drinks as you are laying out by the man-made beach. It's great! And, the food is very good... fried shrimp and other great seafood delicacies. Fun times :)

Interesting - I use to stay there and drink at the Tiki Bar in the early 1980s, sounds like nothing has changed, green carpet in the un-remodeled rooms IS from the 80s. Love live those Rum Runners - worth the price of admission by themselves. Like someone said, they sneak up on you, so don't down too many of those tummy warmers. Keep up a long tradition all you young folks, it was started years ago. Wonder if my business card is still stuck in the thatched roof? Oh, rooms never were that great! 3 on the rooms - 5 plus on the Tiki Bar!!

We didn't stay here, but we went deep sea fishing with Frank Drudi! Captain Frank "Dru" Drudi on the Phoebe is a non-stop, go-get 'um kind of captain! We just happened to pick a day to go deep sea fishing when it was a full moon....not too bright! But Captain Frank went above and beyond to make sure we were the high string on the dock. We caught 6 Mahi, so all 4 of us were able to catch at least one fish. We saw a sea turtle and a boat load (sorry for the pun) of fish, but they just didn't bite. All of us had a blast and when we come back, we will charter with Frank! Thanks for the great time! Our new favorite vaca spot, Islamorada :)

I visited a few weeks ago for Labor day weekend with my sister.I had a really good time listening to the live music and we had a few drinks. We hung out at the pool and the service was great also it wasn't too crowded. We had lunch of course ribs with corn but the ribs was lacking something not enough seasoning or barbeque sauce .Anyways, i did have fun soaking up the rays : ).It is always very relaxing in the keys. The drive up there was only about two hours long. Over all i had a good time.

Like the previous review mentioned, this place is a tradition. Theres been times Ive gone w/ family & other times w/ friends. This past memorial day weekend me & some friends booked right under the tiki bar. We were all really excited to get the crew together again. When we arrived we had to wait in our cars behind this makeshift gate til they verified we were actually staying at the hotel. After 5 min we entered & then parked. I understand we were got there way before check-in (we wanted to avoid us1 traffic). They told us the rooms weren't ready so we decided to start drinking early..shoot, we're on vacay. Anyway, a group of 'event staffers' w/ red shirts, BDUs & combat boots told us we couldn't drink our own alcohol on the premises much less convene around our cars. WTF??? Luckily a Monroe sheriff said it was cool w/ him (Italian guy named Mike..awesome dude). I'll be here all day so I'll wrap it up...the people there were pretty ghetto. Girls with bruises all over their legs & guys & girls looking like newspapers with all their ugly tats. The guy staying right next to us was smoking weed 24/7..YUCK...I like the Tiki Bar but its def changed alot since various owners have tried taking over. They suck at managing this place. Oh yea, & that crap about making people pay $15 just to enter is BS. I def won't be coming back for memorial day weekend. If it wasnt for all my friends making the best out of the experience & the sandbar I woulda stayed home.

Rooms were nice and we got upgraded to a bigger room. However, the noise from the Tiki Bar is ridiculous when you are trying to sleep. If I ever stay here again I will request a room as far from the Tiki Bar as possible. I was also really frustrated by the hotel restaurant's wastefulness. They served breakfast on reusable plates, but the cups, bowls, etc. were all disposable. It was a little ironic to eat from disposable dishware while enjoying a view of the ocean. Also laughable that the bowl my fruit was in said it was eco-friendly, but if they really cared about being eco-conscious they would use reusable dishware. It's just disappointing to see a place that benefits from the environment and an ocean-front view, but doesn't support its health.

we stayed there....1st they gave us a key to the wrong room....went back to front desk and got the correct key, later once in the room there were only towels for one person, i wlhad booked for 2. what was worse was that i found someones used soal under the sink when reaching for the hairdryer. nasty

My mother, sister, and I stayed here for a night during our wedding venue search in the keys. I had stayed here about a year ago for a couple nights during a long weekend and we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately this was not the case last night. First, while laying out at the pool, we were heckled by 3 different security guards asking where our orange bracelets were. We were wearing them so each time we did not have a problem, but the security guards didn't bother the mass of drunk older men gathered obnoxiously around the pool bar. This put a sour taste in our mouths as we have stayed at Hilton's and marriotts and security never found it necessary to bother guests multiple times. At dinner, stray cats were wandering around the outdoor seating area which was uncomfortable because all I could think about was how sad it was. Then at about 2 am, a fight broke out outside our hotel room between men and women. They all were screaming at each other and cursing and being from NY, I automatically thought the worst. After about 45 minutes, I called security (they must have been off looking for orange wristbands) and finally the screaming stopped. Definitely not the kind of venue I would want my wedding at.

I don't make the rules, but if you are in Islamorada, you have to go have a frou-frou cocktail at Holiday Isle. I like to get a rum runner/pina colada swirl with a 151 topper! I never order frozen drinks, not even in my underage high school days,( maybe guilty of a wine cooler.) These adult slushies are a delicious little jump start in the afternoon. VROOOM!!

a few complaints. 1. Ants 2. A resort fee of $15 a night, which we learned about upon checking in. Apparently this is for coffee at the front desk, internet, and newspapers. Most hotels cover this in standard rooms. 3. A toilet that rocked. That is, rocked back and forth. 4. Poor service. I called the front desk for a service request which was never acted upon. Positives: 1. Remodeled rooms are clean and have style. My fiance and I liked the fishing quote stenciled into the wall and the modern furnishings. Overall, we will definitely not be coming back.

Out dated, dirty, lazy staff. A rip off. We had the displeasure of staying in room 430. which is easy to find because it's directly beside the rusted out washing machine and dilapidated dryer. the room was very small despite it having a 6x9 foot useless closet. the toilet was not bolted down in the bathroom and rocked excessively. The sink did not have a drain stopper the faucet, like the toilet, was not properly installed and was loose. There was also a street light directly shining into our room and even though there was a mesh shade it filled the room with light. Only being there a short time we did not want to complain and be inconvenienced more on our vacation. However we were then hit with the hidden resort fees upon checkout. When i complained about these and said we shouldn't have to pay them I was met with much hostility. I was told i needed to talk to a manager who conveniently was never available and wouldn't return a call. The lady in billing rudely told me I can file a claim with my credit card company, which I did. Other notes, do NOT order breakfast from the outside bar. i still get sick thinking about those eggs. The pros certainly do not outweigh the negatives but a few of them are the beach is pretty nice if you can get a spot, the burger joint (shula's) is good (and expensive), and the tv in the room was decent unlike a lot of shanty motels like this. The weather was nice too, but that's one thing they cannot ruin. just be prepared to be nickled and dimed. Better yet, go somewhere where they'll stand by their business and take care of their customers.

This place is a tradition ! Itry to stop here at least once or twice a year. The daiquiris are super yummy and the food is good too! I love the atmosphere , I have never stayed at the hotel and I never will because you can tell that its run down and nasty. But this is a good spot to party !

DON'T ever stay here. We made a reservation and got there and the place was under total construction. They never told us on the phone an hour earlier. Went to our rooms and it stunk. Mold smell throughout and hate to think what the stains were on the green carpet from the 80's. The bathtub had chips in both rooms. We were there for a total of 40 min when we said that we couldn't take sleeping there that night. Go to The Cheasapeak down the street for the same or lower price. People who are giving this favorable reviews are talking about the Tiki Bar for the most part. They do have a remodel going on and the pictures describing it are in the lobby. Right now though, this is the seediest motel I have seen in a long time.

I truly love this place.. We love coming here for their Bushwacker Rum drinks, the atmosphere and beach front views.. Lots to do but me and the honey just love to sit at the bars and enjoy each others company... The food is good and the music is awesome too..

Total dive hotel, but in a good way. The room room was small, but it was nice and clean. For the price I'm sure you won't find anything else. Two tikibars on site and it right on the water.

Just came back two days ago from a pre-run wedding venue visit. The bars must be great for my daughter to sign the contract and pay nearly 7k deposit. I am totally disgusted with this run down motel!! Where do I start? They have high turnover rate for staff. New owners don't want to upgrade filthy and outdated restrooms. Stayed in two separate rooms and both had problems. Bathrooms outdated needing major work. Jacuzzi tub jets discolored and nearly 30 years old with nicks out of the porcelain. Tooth paste lid sitting in drain. Lights burned out throughout the suite. One switch was sticking out of the wall. Hair ball in the shower window. Not enough towels for 2 people. Three weddings in one day when my daughter was told only one per day! Windows are over 50 years old, rusted and in poor shape. Mold over reception door awning. Pool was closed while workers stood around chatting for hours. Pool bar/building falling apart and never opened except for a wedding. Outdoor restrooms are worse than gas station restrooms. Two toilets had poo in them! I really am embarrassed that my daughter chose this filthy 'motel' and I absolutely don't like this place. I think they deceive brides with heavy advertising. Go to the Hampton Inn, Key Largo and there is no comparison!

I've been to a Bartender's Week aka a Hospitality Week at Holiday Isle and it reminded me of an old show that used to be on E called Wild On. Especially that sand bar... I've also been for NYE and found a very laid back party atmosphere nothing too crazy and even kids. There firework display is nice and it provides an alternative to the crazyness that are Miami and Key West for NYE. The Tiki Bar and Holiday Isle are what The Keys and South Florida used to be about, kinda kitschy but genuine and simple. I agree with Peter M get down here before there are some lovely, resort style condos and this place loses its charm.

No where as fun and as hopping as it was in the past, but still a fun place to stop off by car or boat. Everyone must have a least one world famous rumrunner in their life before they tear this place down and build condos. Be careful how many you have though as you might forget your name. Still rocks in May during bartenders week,

Really liked the place, nice rooms. Three different bars spread out. Nice property. We spent one night passing through to Key West. Had a blast, met great people and danced at Tiki Bar. Only downfalls, not much options for food, one bar had small menu and in our building there was no elevator to bring luggage to second floor. Will go back!!

Four stars If for no other reason than the bikini contest that I wandered into. I'm in Miami on business with a Saturday to kill, so I drive to Islamorada to the "World Famous" Tiki Bar on recommendation of a local. You gotta have a Rumrunner. Get the extra shot on the side. Great views, shops where you can get some decent souvenirs of the drive down the Keys and it looks like a decent place to stay, although I didn't see any rooms. You can dock your boat here too, if not going overland.

I've had my share of blurry nights (and weekends) here at the Isle. It's cheap, it's divey, and the whole place is built around drinking. The hotel is disgusting, but you probably won't care too much because if you're at Holiday Isle, you will not be hanging out in your room. The site itself is well laid out- there are several bars on the property surrounding the hotel buildings. The food isn't bad; it isn't great, either. Their beachfront is nice to relax on, and they are neighbors with a number of charter fishing operations, so if you're into fishing (or renting a boat for the day), this is as good of a place as any. If you're just passing through on your way from the FL mainland to Key West, this is a good "halfway" spot to pull over at to stick your toes in the sand and enjoy a cold one before hopping back on the road.

The PostCard Inn was a perfect spot for our mini vacation with such a great location and Keys vibe! They are located central to all the great restaurants, bars, and activities to do in Islamorada. When searching for a getaway we found the PostCard Inn and with all the remodeling they have done it has become a picturesque resort. We found a really great deal on Booking.com that was over double less expensive than booking directly through the hotel. We planned our vacation with less than 2 days in advance and could not have been more excited to arrive! Before arrival we called in to see if they had any early check ins available which was foreseen that we would have no luck but you can preregistration to make your check in process faster. During our preregistration the ladies at the front desk advised if they had any rooms available any earlier than the check in time of 3pm they would call. After going to lunch we received a call a little over an hour after registration to let us know we can now check in! The front desk staff was very friendly during each of our interactions along with all the resort staff! This resort is Pet Friendly with a $50 non refundable deposit for your whole stay and your pup can accompany you everywhere on the resort except for on the beach and in the pool! An excellent perk which Islamorada is very pet friendly, we only came across a couple of restaurants that would not allow pups. They also have 3 restaurants on site including the Tiki Bar, Shula's 2, and Jaws Raw Bar but the Tiki Bar was closed for renovations while we were there. I recommend Shula's 2 for food & drink and Jaws for drinks only (their food was below par). The complete resort is manicured very well and kept maintained. They have three beach areas with chairs, some have hammocks, and at the main beach you can order cocktails! The pool is large, clean, and the water is refreshing. They have a $25 a day resort fee that covers all the amenities such as the free Kayaks, Water Trikes, Pool Towels, Paddle Boards, Free Wifi, and much more definitely worth the $25 extra a day! Our room was located in building number three as there are a couple of different building. This one is not beach front but we did still have a ocean view room. The inside of our room was spotless and decorated very nicely without being over the top or too bare. They have everything you would need and expect in your hotel room ie Iron/Ironing Board, Coffee Maker (very cheap but works), Blowdryer, Fridge/Freezer Combo, TV/Radio, and a Safe! The AC Unit worked outstandingly which is a very big concern while on vacation especially at night for us. That baby gets down to our perfect sleep temp of 61*! My only complaint would be that the room is a bit on the smaller side but we did also have a larger patio which is always a bonus! The cleaning staff was very friendly each day and did a great job as well! I would definitely recommend the PostCard Inn at the excellent price and would return for future visits to Islamorada! Our vacation was a very easy-stress free time all made possible with this charming Keys resort!

We checked in today...early checkin (about an hour early) didn't seem to be a problem. Beautiful view from our room (4th floor). Rooms are somewhat dated but we have the King Suite...very spacious, balcony, mini fidge. Major downer is the Rumrunner Bar AND Tiki Bar are both CLOSED!!! The pool bar is cool but closed at 430...and VERY expensive!! ($65 for 4 drinks!) Also, there is the $25 a day resort fee to use Kayaks, paddleboats etc. that was not specified on the website. I don't know if we will even use that stuff but kinda makes ya feel like you have to! I do not believe you should be charged for the use of these things unless you are going to use them. Pointer: About a mile up the road is a GREAT place to eat...Hog Heaven (or something like that) absolutely the coolest place!!! Staff is not very friendly or helpful. Elevator will make you you want to pass out from the heat. The management/owners could take lessons from the guests...offer us discounts on drinks or food since everything is shut down. I would love to talk to mgmt/owner about marketing and customer service. Such great potential at this property going to waste.......

I will start with the positives: Hotel is right on the ocean. Beautiful grounds with a nice restaurant on property, a raw bar, and a tiki bar. Beautiful views all around. Nice, clean, recently renovated rooms with beachy feel. Manager Amy is very sweet and helpful. The water activities (kayak, water tricycle, bikes, etc are included with resort fee). Umbrellas to stay cool under all along the beach. Heated pool. Cons: The guy who works at front desk..the unfriendly, unacommodating one, with the attitude. The vending machine was out of bottled water all 4 nights. Called front desk and they said nothing available. It's not like there is anything in walking distance so if you want or need a cold water after 10 p.m. and the bar is closed, etc. you are out of luck. The front desk tells you the bar is open till 12 but bartender says last call is at 9:45 p.m! The shower in my bathroom backed up with water every time I showered and it came up above my ankles and stayed like that throughout shower --GROSS! Heard they are making some changes, more renovations, etc so hoping things get better here. If they do, I would give it another chance for sure.

Kind of a keys tradition to sip a keylime colada ascthe sunsets. Drinks can get pricey after a few rounds, and the beach is reserved for hotel guests only, but after the sun sets there are some great firepits over the water to relax and drink at

The outside of the hotel is a little dated but the room was updated and very clean. The lobby was very cute. We didn't pay for an ocean view but our room ended up overlooking the harbor which was very nice. Paddle boarding and kayaking is free to hotel guests and jet skiing is offered and many people take jet skis or boats out to the sandbar. There is also a water trampoline. The pool was nice and there's lots of seating both at the pool and on the beach, as well as hammocks. There are a few bars but we went during offseason so one was closed and it was pretty quiet. I'm sure the tiki bar is much more fun when it's a busy time of year. I really enjoyed it.

If you want to disconnect from it all this is a great place, I love the idea of chilling at the pool and having some Rum runners and basking in the sun :) Enjoy the local seafood is always fresh and perfectly cooked :). The rooms were recently renovated but some of the headboards stink, it's gotta be some anti flame solution... It just stinks... But I can't really complain I always have a great time here

Amazing remodel!!!!! Rooms are spectacular... Kayaks, paddle boards and water bikes are included in the resort fee... You can rent jet skis and boats on site... Great service... Beaches are gorgeous... Wonderful pool... Only reason I didn't give postcard inn 5 stars is because they closed rumrunners my favorite tiki bar in islamorada!! Bring it back please!!!! Outstanding stay and can't wait to return!

Bartender ignored us and it took 15 minutes of waiting and five minutes of begging to get some Fish dip. Let's see how long it takes. Happy hour good - and the view is amazing that's why I gave it 2 stars.

We stayed overnight at Postcard Inn on the 15th of January. From the outside, the hotel looks to be on the older side, but the inside of the rooms have been renovated and it is very cute. It definitely gives you that beachy vibe, which I liked a lot. Front desk service was fine, the girl who helped me was nice and checked us in quickly. What I did not like, was the fact that the room had a sort of musty/moldy smell, but being right on the beach and having wood furniture that sort of thing may be inevitable. After being in the room for some time, you get used to it and the smell is tolerable. Also, the regular King room is on the small side, but since we were only there for one night, and the room had a small patio, it was adequate to our needs. The best part of this hotel is the private beach. The beach is gorgeous and the grounds are maintained very well. The beach is beautiful, and the view from the hotel is gorgeous. The hotel also offers a lot of entertainment in terms of restaurants, and also available water activities. Overall, it was just a beautiful location. I'm not sure if I would stay here if I was planning to stay for an extended period of time due to the smell of the rooms, but for a short trip, I would definitely stay again. 3-stars for the hotel itself, but definitely 4-stars for the gorgeous beach and scenery.

This place is still pretty bad. The old hotel portion is really in need of updating. No elevator to the third floor. We can hear the next room talking and using the restroom. We paid alot of money for ocean front but the room is awful. The bathroom is so small the the sink is outside in the bedroom.

We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. What a wonderful experience! We had a very nice ocean front room and enjoyed a very nice staff as we sat on the beach and enjoyed the view while sipping their world famous Rum Runners! I highly recommend this resort for a fun getaway!

Let me explain my rating. The hotel/inn itself is only worth a 2.5 maybe 3... The staff however made it a 4. The rooms were cute and fairly newly updated, however the air in ours was very loud and def was not going down to 60 like we wanted. Also, on the first night, I kept smelling this moldy stuffy smell- being so close to water that's kind of normal, but in the middle of the night my throat started to hurt and my nose was stuffed up. I was in a full blown allergy attack- had to be the room. The second night I was taking sudafed. Something to think about when booking! Now the staff. Amazing, we got here 4 hours early and they had one room ready so they let us check in. That room however had a huge sliding glass door that wouldn't shut all the way or lock. We were not comfortable with this so they upgraded us to an ocean side room (for $50 a night more) and let us use the pool and bar areas while they cleaned it. Keep in mind, we were still really early! The water sports guys have a lot of fun at work and they engage themselves with the customers. There are a lot of options to do here too. The bar has good frozen drinks for a decent price too. Overall, the staff is what made this resort memorable, not the place itself.

OK somebody please help me with the logic with the PostCard Inn. I've stay there before when they where going thru the change from Holiday Isles, and the service was great the transition seemed seamless all I can say is Great you miss the old name but with time things change, the they started to implement restrictions that up to a certain point I bow and understood ( tried ) business you never turn away. Just this weekend visited again and even on the weekend business was dead on the side of the PCI tried again to go to the pool bar 1 person sitting there and I asked for a drink and I was shunted like I had asked for the impossible mind you their drink range from 10 - 14 $$$$$$$ US not euros, when I asked why it had become so strict they answer the owners want it that way. I truly believe that they are doing this to justify the lack of business and be able to build condos ....... Very sad.....

We arrived after a red eye flight. We were very early and very tired. We checked in with the front desk just to see if we could hang out until we could check in. They had a room available and we were able to check in at 8am and sleep! The staff is very friendly (not so much the raw bar). Kayaking was great and paddle boarding. The room was wonderful. Clean, updated and air conditioned! We can't wait to come back!!

The food was terrible, the burger was undercooked, the cheese quesadilla was so cold it was almost a joke and the same goes for everyone else's food. On a brighter side the atmosphere is great and the frozen Drinks were great ( even though they were 10-12 bucks plus tax each ) I enjoyed it. I think this place has great potential but this being the third time I've visited, it might be my last

I give this hotel a 2 because of the potential that it has to be a great resort. Good location and overall property, however the property still needs a lot of work and changes. The main problem that I had with this hotel was the noise level. We upgraded to a beautiful beachfront oceanview room for an extra $50/night on top of the $230 we were already paying, so we are getting into a heavy price tag which comes with higher expectations. They only hand ground level rooms available, what we didn't know is that there ground level rooms have a 3 foot "patio" that connects right to the main sidewalk and beach so you have zero privacy. We could not even open our 2ftx2ft window because everyone could see in our room. They have a DJ or live music every night unitl midnight and people are drunk all over the beach until almost 4am on a weekend. You can hear everything from a flip flop to a whisper through the room. It was the loudest hotel room I have ever been in, to the point we had to have our TV on volume high to drown out the noise all through the night... and that didn't even do the trick. The rooms are freshly painted and decorated nicely.... and then you feel a drop of water hit your head from the ceiling, go to get in the moldy aged tile shower... it was pretty gross. When I told the front desk about the noise level a blonde woman just laughed in my face and told me "everyone loves the ground level" after I told her people were blasting music until 4am she just blew me off and had no regard for me. That is what tipped me over the edge. They offer a handful of "signature" drinks which I watch poured out of a carton and splashed with some alcohol, at a price tag of $10-$14 a piece I expect something a little more fresh and strong. I have come to Islamorada many times and stayed at several hotels, this one was by far the worst.

The rooms were quite nicely redone. Plenty of things to do and places to eat in the area. Bathrooms needed some work. Tubs were chipping and floor and sink were outdated. One day the Cleaning lady started to clean our room and then forgot Bc she got a phone call. She left our door open all day. We had been to the beach all day and she still hadnt finished cleaning our room. Lobby had mostly cold Coffee in the mornings.

I have been patronizing this joint for many, many moons and am a big fan, here's why: * Lots of Tiki Bars on property * Sat on the water, baby! * Great fishing and diving nexus * The perfect size * World Class sportsmen and fishing folks co-medicate vodka-wise with Sandbar Commandos and weekend weenies and it mostly works. I believe the joint is in an ongoing, incremental room and decor and interiors upgrade. That could happen more quickly. Other than that star-with-holding aspect, this joint is heavenly in my opinion. Cabeza at the Bar!

Some big changes have happened at Postcard from what I understand... And after staying 3 nights, I can unequivocally say that this place has become the best resort around for one reason: the Beach Services Staff. These were just about the only employees of the hotel we interacted with and they exerted so much effort into making guests happy. John, Alex, Nick and Randy will do everything from recommend restaurants to jump in and play corn hole when you need another person. It's critical for Postcard to keep building the Beach Services program as it seemed to be new. Without it, it would have been an average stay. Instead, Postcard became host to our most memorable moments in the Keys. Kayaking and paddle-boating is now included free for guests. Ask about kayaking over to the mangroves. That was the most fun we had all weekend. Thanks Postcard!

I WAS a huge fan of this place up until this weekend when they FRAUDULENTLY charged my card six month after we stayed there ..... Mistakes happen - but that they aren't fixing it and I have to fight it with the bank to get the money back is not ok ..... They had been the subject of a credit card scam at about the same time we were there - isn't that curious?

The ocean tower rooms have great views, and some of the furnishings are nice looking like the porcelain wood-looking floor tiles and the modern TV stand/dresser, but it's hard to get by the fact that the room has a moldy smell, the bathroom looks like a worn out institutional bathroom, with peeling tiles and corroded bath hardware. If you're accustomed to dated worn-out Holiday Inn Style accommodations, you'll be fine, but if you're used to modern clean hotels, you'll be disappointed

I didn't stay here, so I thought I'd write my review for the Spray Water Sports for jet ski tours - which is at the hotel. It was shit. Honestly, my tour guide was really rude especially with the rules. He even called us stupid. What sucked even more is that my family and I paid $300ish for two jet ski for a 90min tour, yet we wasted around 30mins due to the sea grass. So if anyone wants to do this, check how much sea grass there are before wasting your money. We didn't even bother trying to get our money back since we had another event to go to.

I stayed here when it was originally the Holiday Isle Inn...back in the day. It is now the most beautiful and comfortable place. You can stay there and not leave. There is a Shula's 2. Bars, music....it's all there. If you want to venture off the property I would suggest Chef Michaels or the Morada Bay. They have a great "full moon party".... A special shout out to Ebony and Pearl. They made our visit soooo special. The customer service there is first class. We never had to ask....they just knew what to do. Thank you Post Card....we will be back!!

I am staying at the Postcard Inn with a friend attending a wedding here. The views are spectacular. The wedding set up (view/location) is beautiful and the food served at the affair was delicious. The drinks were perfect! No skimping on the alcohol. The room left a lot to be desired for cleanliness. The recent renovation left some things out that should have been addressed (pics added). The location and layout are outstanding, though and there is plenty of room to spread out all over the grounds. It would be nice if the renovation included upgrading the bathrooms and replacing the damaged, dirty, deteriorating inside doors. If they continue with the renovations, this could definitely be a 5 star resort. The layout is plentiful, but they don't keep the island music going throughout the day...it actually played very little during our 5 day stay. There are no work out facilities on site and only one shower inside the bathroom on the fishing dock for those checking out but hanging around waiting for a late flight out.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. My husband booked a surprise getaway for Valentines weekend. On our second day here we were left without Water for 4 hours with no notification. When we asked for a reimbursement the manager rudely stated it was not her problem because we booked through Expedia and she could only offer a $50.00( we paid $850 for two nights). Stay away from this place. No customer service whatsoever!!!!

I stayed there for 7 days in October 2014 My room was in the "street view building #4", horrible. My view from rear slider door was of laundry builing, very noicy from workers, front view was of empty parking lot" No window" The "World famous Tiki bar" is DEAD! what a joke. 8:00 pm and no one is there same thing during the day. The beach is not really a beach, don't be fooled by the profecional web pictures it's a 30' wide swampy water area. No comparison to the caribbean resorts, $120. for an hour on jet ski, It's $35. in Jamaica, Dominican. Save your money and go to the caribbean. Boring, boring.

Where do I start ! This has got to be the worst place I have ever stayed at. How do they call this place a resort. It really is nothing more than a nasty dirty motel !!! Our room was filthy ! , we found a dirty underwear from the previous guest behind the garbage , the shower was full of mold and nasty , the bathroom door wouldn't properly shut , there was no toilet paper , and our bed sheets had sand !!! Oh. I almost forgot to mention the pool. The pool looked more like a lake. It was green and cloudy. Post Card Inn. Send me a post card because you will never be seeing me again !

This review is for this lying establishment (the bar portion). I am writing this as I sit here waiting on my change. Please note that the menu that you receive to order from is not the correct pricing according to our waitress! She mentioned this after the fact!!! I am in shock at our waitresses' s answer when questioned as to why the prices on the menu are different from what is being charged. Her answer was that our "fat tire" beers are "imported" (they are not)... even then...import drafts are priced at $5 per the menu....we were being charged $6 for a $4 beer. What's most upsetting is that the waitress was lying to us each time we asked her a question. She said the beer was imported so it was more, she then said that "that's what the register is ringing up, she then said that each beer is taxed, the lies were endless....to top off....the waitress then said that the menu is and i quote...."false advertisement" and that she has been telling them but they wont listen...WTF?!??!?! we asked for a manager and we obviously pointed out the price issue....The manager then had the audacity to say that the menu is from the "other bar" and that the food pricing was accurate but the drinks were from "this bar". Really?!?!?!? Well it would have been nice if our waitress was HONEST and shared this bit of information. Simply put....honesty gets you a LONG way. It's not about the money but the mere principle. We will never come here again AND will definitely let ALL our friends know that the "tiki bar" we all know and LOVED is dishonest......Ridiculous. ....

Incredible views from our room but customer service was lacking. The first day we checked in , our key card was not working. After multiple attempts a young kid from the engineering department stopped by. We were hoping he would fix the issue, but he took one look and said "sorry, i do not have the tools to fix this door tonight but we will send someone over first thing the following day." Shockingly no one stopped by for 2 full days. After waiting 2 days, i stopped by the front desk again and they said they would send someone over from engineering to fix. This time, the worker told us the truth that they are unable to fix the door and it needed to be re-programmed. So basically since we were located on the 1st floor, we walked in and out of our room through our sliding screen door. There is no maid-service at this hotel unless you request it. So everyday we called the front desk so they can have maintenance send us down 2 new towels every morning. The resort grounds were pretty nice. There were 2 swimming pools, 1 with a pool bar. They had a raw bar that served drinks and simple meals (sandwiches) and breakfast which was a plus (starting at 7:30am). The "famous" tiki bar on site. Not sure why its so famous. I thought this place was pretty boring. The bartenders weren't friendly and it was only upbeat in there on Saturday night. Every other day of the week was like watching paint dry. Sadly for the cost of the room ($290) my husband and I expected better customer service. But overall the resort was OK.

Awesome location, beautiful views! Ocean tower is wonderful. We have room 154 and the room itself is nicely furnished with updated bed, dresser, decor. Has a hot tub in the room! Bathroom (like others said) was not renovated.. But didn't bother me much. Pool was heated. People are friendly! Great getaway!

Love this place ! Was very sad to leave. Everything about this place I enjoyed. The water toys, our room, beach, pool, and the scenery. Everyone was so nice and I would def stay here again. We stayed during the week and it was quiet which was great but I had a feeling that may change on the weekend. So you get the best of both worlds!

Some reasons why it's a 2 star place, some reasons it's a 3.5 star place (defintely not more). Here's why: 1) it's an old hotel trying to be 'modern beachy'. And I give them props for the look of the place, this place was pretty dumpy back in the day. But take our room for example, 227, while the room was nice, the bathroom was pretty, shally I say 'icky'. For $200 a night I shouldn't feel a sense of ick. 2) Going further with #1, our A/C broke on night #2. All we had was humid air blowing on us. 3) It's definitely not a 'resort' yet you pay a resort fee of $15. It's an old pool with a not really maintained swim up bar. Two 'beaches' flank the pool. One side was crazy warm and folks I was with got bit like crazy (sea lice?). The other side (the next day) was much cooler and really quite nice. The attendants while nice weren't what you expect at a perhaps a 4 star resort. Hard to explain. They were just more there so stop you from bringing your own drinks in vs there to assist you. 4) Location was great. A few steps up from the parking lot to our room, walk 10 feet across and a few steps down and you were on the beach. This was awesome. 5) The tiki bar was there. We didn't use and were in the 200 building and we did hear the bass at night. It's not that I wouldn't not ever stay here again, it just wasn't compelling enough at these prices to be a must return.

Great place to stay for mid-range price. We had an unbeatable, gorgeous ocean view from our room. The room was clean and very cute! The bathroom was clean but could use an update, which we noticed happening in other rooms during our stay... So maybe they're working on it. This was a beautiful, relaxing place to stay- perfectly met our needs- and we enjoyed every minute spent there!

Great for groups. We booked several rooms and got the FL resident rate (the cheapest) so it wasn't ocean view. Instead we were all put in building 5 (off to the side above the shops, not in the main building) and it was excellent. Cozy and updated, not fancy, but better than expected for the price. The rooms all overlooked the marina. The tiki bar was at the end of the building and could have been loud if there was a band but cold drinks steps away ... not too bad when vacationing in the Keys! Pros - Check in was smooth and staff was courteous - Building 5 was great - nice decor, good view over the marina w/o paying for a water view, clean room - the hotel property is large and allows groups gathering places on the beach, at the fire pits, and at the pool Location - a couple options for bars within walking distance, love the tree house feel of Rum Runners Cons - limited good food options within walking distance - the building was old and noise from the hotel sound system could be heard very late - price was great but charged a resort fee and didn't feel like a resort (no decaf coffee in the lobby, only two towels in the room, rooms updated but building and bath fixtures still old) I will stay here again and request building 5 and the FL resident rate.

Just stayed here over Thanksgiving. Picked this place because they allow pets. However, they claim to have just made major renovations but they must have forgotten to do our bathroom. Our first impression of the room was OK, looks like the pictures. But the next morning when we looked in our tub the tub surround was all cracked and looked like they attempted to plaster over it, there was no drain plug and the drain was rusted, and the tub itself was cracked and missing pieces of porcelain (if that is what it was made of). They had thrown a bath mat over the tub to try and hide some of it, didn't work. I like to use the phrase you get what you paid for, but at $155 a night plus $15 a day for internet I expected more, not a tub I was afraid of. It's was like they ran out of money before they got to the bathrooms.

This place was a big disappointment. It is definitely not a resort. It is a highway-side motel, plain and simple with our room door opening out to a parking lot next to the highway. The bathroom had plenty of mold, there were dogs barking day and night in the adjacent rooms and the AC vent noise drove us crazy. The rooms were small and poorly insulated -- you could hear everything in the other rooms and the highway road noise was bad. The wifi rarely worked. Considering it was over $200 a night, I'd recommend checking out other places.

Had a great time here. Ocean view was beautiful. The pool by the ocean was great. Would've liked to have gone jet skiing but the wife was too scared. Bar nearby, dive shop right there, hamburger place, n a gas station too. Def recommend this place.

Not as bad as some of the reviews. I'll add that when I stayed I got one of the newly remodeled rooms. The people i was traveling with got and old room and it lived up to the bad reviews. So if you go, request a remodeled room before you commit. Soon I suspect all rooms will be remodeled. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location if you are in for fishing as the adjoining marina has some great charter captains. I'd recommend to friend if they made sure to get a newer room.

I stayed here for this past memorial weekend. The service was excellent especially from Joe who was the front desk agent at the time. The only thing I could comment on is Shula s burger joint for breakfast was a bit sloppy the server looked to be hung over dirty some what gross. Now for lunch complete different story service was excellent and clean those burgers are delicious as always.

Joe at the front desk was very accommodating and extremely nice. We arrived in the evening after driving all day and he took the time to explain everything and also give us recommendations. There were small ants in the room which I figured was typical being in such a humid area, when I called Joe he sent someone up immediately to take care of the situation. He offered to change our room but we declined since our room had such an amazing view. I stayed here for 5 days with my GF and we had an amazing time. Stacey downstairs who rents out the paddle boards was such a sweetheart and was willing to come in early so that my GF and I can go for an early morning paddle. I will definitely stay here again and I am looking forward to my next trip!

Stayed there last weekend.... the property looked great on their website, and I was not disappointed.. we will definitely be back soon! I would use a different boat rental place than the one on the property though... we rented a boat, and then we were told that there was damage to the prop. Good thing that I was smart enough to take pictures of it beforehand though. .

Where to even begin. I tried to be cheap and save some money but I absolutely regret staying here!! Arrived and go to check in this past thursday.. I booked a room without a ocean view so the woman at check-in tells us it would be an additional $50 a night if we want to upgrade to ocean view. My boyfriend and I decided after seeing the room I had booked which would be facing the highway to fork-up the money for the upgrade. The woman then looks at us and goes "Well..if you want to give me a tip I can upgrade you for free." Obviously we went with that route but she made it extremely uncomfortable when she took the money and looked at what I gave her right away. We get to our room and it looks okay by first glance and then you really start to see the shithole that it is. The closet has a curtain, the bathroom has leaks and cracks and weird black dots on the floor, there are dead batteries in the remote so you can't turn on the tv and the worst part is THERE ARE ANTS CRAWLING EVERYWHERE!!! Clearly this is an old building on the ocean but didn't you ever hear of making sure there aren't creepy crawlers in our bed, shower, toliet and floors. GROSS. It totally made sleeping really awkward. My boyfriend actually found ants crawling around our bed. The only upside to the this hotel is the Shula's restaurant on the premises. We didn't even go to any of the bars because every time we looked at one it was completely empty. Save your money and go elsewhere. I will not be returning.

The location is the best feature of this hotel. If I was 20 and single and required no sleep I may have given four stars because in a drunken stage no one really notices things like dirty walls and bathrooms. It's a total party zone so no offense to the party goers but 3am bed time is hard for families to handle

My wife and I went online to find a place we could go and relax in the Florida Keys. We wanted someplace quiet away from Key West and the other larger populated areas. From the online photos and description we booked 7 days and nights. When we first arrived we were shocked at how small and dirty our room was, nothing like the pictures we saw online. The carpet was wet and the bathroom was covered in mold. We went and requested a meeting with the Manager. His name was Joe, we found him to be very professional and kind. After expressing our displeasure we were upgraded to a suite. Although the room was nicer the bathroom was small and dated. As far as the facilities, the pool is dated and the lounge chairs are dirty and old, the beach towels are very small. No pool or beach services at all. The Raw Bar is understaffed , the food is mostly fried and the drinks overpriced. We avoided it after one meal. Very loud at night with music blaring from the Tiki Bar. We did have a very good experience renting their jet boat and spent the day anchored at the sandbar that's located several hundred yards offshore. Expensive but worth it to us. The staff was excellent at the Jet Ski rentals. Highly recommend. Overall we are dissatisfied with our stay and would not consider returning. Not a family place, more of a party place. Not for us.

Mostly cool hotel with über friendly staff! Be aware that MOST of the time this is a place to party and you may not get much sleep even if you aren't partaking in the festivities. I feel like the whole property still needs updating, especially the restrooms and elevators but overall the decor is stylish and fun. Shula burger is conveniently located in the same parking lot and the food there was a bit pricey but completely delicious.

After being unemployed for four months, and just about to start a new job in a new career I decided that I needed a vacation. Yup, that's right. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I am known to obsess over my vacation, and my husband makes endless fun of me. But I take my down time seriously. This time, I knew I didn't want to do much but I wanted to be lazy in style, and on a budget. Say whaaa now? Enter Postcard Inn and bookit.com . That's probably the best $125/night I have ever spent in my life. If you want to relax while being away from Key West crowds, Islamorada is a match made in heaven (and heavenly it is). The resort offered everything I wanted: - a nice, clean pool (inexplicably empty most of the time) - comfortable chaise lounges facing the ocean - multiple bars - a decent sized room, totally remodeled with the most comfortable bed ever, a top-notch AC, a balcony to dry your swimsuits, a big flat screen (but no mini-fridge) - professional and attentive service I loved every second of it. At the end of January, during the week, it was still busy but not overtly so, and was just paradise on earth to my Chicago winter-saturated soul. Wake up early, walk to to the beach and watch the sun rise on the ocean. It's a crime not to do it; criminals have no place in paradise. Recommended for a comfortable stay on the cheapish side.

We stayed at this place because our friends were getting married there. To start of, we arrived at around 10am and they told us our room wouldn't be ready until 3:30 because it had to be cleaned from whoever had stayed there before(check out was still at 10 on our departure date though) so we waited and went and got some food and drinks with some friends at one of the bars. The waitress there was slow and took forever to bring drinks and even forgot a few times and was not friendly at all, in the end she screwed up all our checks(we were a party of 6). Pretty much all the staff is rude and not friendly at all, I had a bartender "scold" me and complained to my face for ordering a drink he did not know how to make(a bahama mama), I had another bartender be rude because I asked for ice and she acted like it was the most annoying thing anyone had ever requested of her and even when I said "thank you" she turned around without saying anything back. The bathroom door in the room was defective, it could not properly shut and the shower barely worked and when we finally got it to work there was no water pressure so it was like showering under a weak little stream of water. My other friend had to get his room upgraded because the one he was in was covered with ants. The only thing that made me give 2 stars instead of 1 is that the wedding was very nice and the food at the wedding was good but I will never be staying there again otherwise and I do not recommend anyone does until they maybe give their staff some tips on how to be friendly and not so rude and they fix the issues in their rooms.

A group of my friends and I stayed here in January 2013 for my best friend's wedding. Our experience here was amazing! Our room was incredible! We had an ocean view room with 2 queen size beds and a king size bed. I loved the cute quotes on the walls. I also love the pool. After we used the pool, we got to tan on the deck next to the pool. What a great idea to put a deck next to the pool facing the ocean! I loved the area for the wedding ceremony took place. The only thing I didn't like was the guests on jet skis looking at the wedding ceremony. She payed a lot of money for her wedding guest to enjoy her ceremony in a beautiful scene so I think it was disrespectful (in the guest part) to just sit there in their bathing suits. Also, I was told that the jet skiers gave her (the bride) issues to come in by boat (her grand entrance). The staff was AMAZING! They were kind enough to let us check in few hours ahead of time without charging us extra so we can get ready for the wedding. They were also kind enough to hold on to our bags after check out so we can go explore the area some more. We had a fish in a fish bowl and they had no problem holding on to him until we were ready to go and until our ride was here. So kind! I will be definitely be back in the future! :)

Motel 6 in disguise. Not worth the price I paid. Don't be fooled by the nice pictures on their website. Only good thing there is the view from the pool. Rest of hotel needs help. Service - 2 stars Clean - 2 stars Décor - 2 stars value - 1 star and that's being nice Would I go back again? No, I would only visit the pool area.

Ritz Carlton prices at a very nice Days Inn is how I would describe it. But maybe we got the "special" rate. I hate when they don't publish rates - maybe someone else paid 100 bux - well worth it if they did - but we paid a few hundred- not. The rooms are clean and nice, updated with newer furnishings and floors. The beach is pretty and the pool is nice- plus they are nice about providing towels. Front staff is great and fresh lemonade along with a free game room for kids. Main complaint is -- do not go to the restaurant attached. Waited 20 min for order to be taken and 45 for breakfast. We almost just left. If you're desperate, sit at the bar and eat. We saw 2 different parties eat and leave before we were even served. I think they're on island time.

I stay in hotels every month and have never had such a terrible experience. This is actually my first time writing a review because that's how awful this hotel experience was. The "renovations" are not worth the rate. More importantly, do not trust the housekeeping and front office staff. Somehow $300 worth of clothing was missing from my room. Enough said.

The hotel staff were friendly and beach and pool is nice however it is definitely more of a party hotel (especially on weekends). Our room (119) was probably one of the worst in the hotel. While it was on the beach, the super loud music Friday and Saturday night came straight through the door (which had 1" gaps at top and bottom and caused the room to shake. The air conditioning unit was being held in by a binder shoved under it and a piece of foam on the top. After going into some of the other rooms, we definitely had a sub par room. The food here was decent but as others mention, service was a bit slow. The Tiki bar was definintely fun, just wished we didn't have to be a part of the action while trying to sleep at night! Beds were comfortable but the bathroom could use a remodel. Also, we had a lot of issues with the TV and remote not wanting to work together...all and all, a nice hotel just don't get room 119!

We went there for lunch. It was a busy Friday afternoon. People were just starting to show up and their restaurant was understaffed. Our waiter, a sweet person, opened another table in another section to help out, but her bitchy boss came in and told her off, for what: helping out. Our waiter ended up leaving after being scolded for opening up a table in someone else's section. Her boss, was unprofessional: gossiping with guests and other staff. She doesn't even know her own restaurant, because our food got cold after she took over our waiter's tables. Anyways, we eventually got our food, and that was good. If that restaurant wants an instant upgrade it would be firing that bitchy, unprofessional, and controlling manager.

The room was nice - obviously a renovated property, but they did a nice job. Reservations through Expedia were no problem. Check in was smooth, although they put a $100 charge on your card for "incidentals", which should be deducted at check out. The clerk at the front desk checked with housekeeping to see if the room was ready, which we were assured it was. We were given a map and spent 10 minutes trying to figure out where our room was. After a couple failed attempts, finally found the right entrance to the right building. When we went to the room, down the hall that looked like a dormitory, housekeeping was still in there, and the housekeeper told us we were in the wrong room. After several phone calls back and forth to the front desk, we were assured the room was ready and brought our bags in. We started settling in and discovered one of our keys didn't work. We got in touch with the front desk supervisor who quickly apologized for our inconveniences, brought us a new set of keys, and coupons for a free drink. When we ventured out, signs all over the property told us we couldn't bring our own drinks to the pool or beach. Seriously??? Coming back in, we noticed that the hall door, previously propped open by housekeeping, did not lock, basically, leaving the hall door open to anyone who wanted to come in. We came back and wanted to wash up for dinner, only to realize we didn't have any soap or cups in the bathroom. We called down to the desk who told us they would bring them up while we were at dinner. We went to Wahoo's (awesome -see separate review), came back to no soap or cups. OK, I had some in my bag so no big deal. We went down to the Tiki Bar. I had to use the ladies room, which was DISGUSTING. 4 out of 6 toilets were clogged, there was TP and paper towels all over the floor, no soap in the dispenser and the hand dryer didn't work. The one stall that I could flush to clear had a floor drain that was not screwed down to the floor and sticking up. NASTY! The Tiki Bar was dead. We went back to our room, still waiting for that soap...They are charging big time prices, but not yet ready for the big time.

Although a picture says a 1000 words, pictures say nothing about this volume of those words. This hotel is loud, so don't expect a quiet relaxing stay. Staff are distracted with business that is not customer service. And the hotel give you wristbands for their beach. Seems like a classless solution to keeping their beach 'private.' Why not just stamp your hand like a dance club? [insert sarcasm here] If cigarette butts and spitting are your thing, then this is your place. Best thing about the place was the price--get what you pay for. Rooms are updated, but the bathrooms are not. And the air conditioners are placed in the such a way that they cold air blows right on your face when you are sleeping. There is no way to adjust the air flow.

Great location and plenty or room to relax at the pools, beach and tiki bars. Our room had recently been remodeled and though it wasn't a beachfront room, the view to the gardens was pleasant. Good location for snorkeling, kayaking or jetskiing.
