Excellent food (steamed shrimo/raw oysters) and the staff was really friendly. Amanda was a very attentive server and teamwork was evident through the rest of the staff. I will definitely return when I'm the area.

We sat down at 2:00 today. At 2:40, none of the four servers who were apparently working the outdoor dining area had so much as acknowledged us. There were only two other tables with seated diners. Two other tables were leaving as we sat down. We left without so much as being offered a glass of water. Very disappointed in the lack of service, especially since there seemed to be plenty of servers working both inside and out and not an abundance of customers. First and last visit to The Shrimp Basket.

My family and I went here twice during our vacation from Tennessee. If it wasnt for a couple members of my party falling in love with their raw oysters I wouldnt have returned for a second visit. Both times for me were very mediocre. Service was much better the 2nd time but still wasnt great. And I wasnt disappointed in my food but wasnt impressed either.

Very glad we stopped to check it out. Ordered 2 kids shrimp baskets (comes w/ fries & about 12-15 shrimp--which is awesome vs normally 4-5 shrimp), seafood platter & the whitefish basket. It was a lot of food for the price. Staff was very nice. Will def be coming back. Loved the gumbo & shrimp coleslaw. I must stop & eat!

Tuesday's are all you can eat steamed shrimp, which we ordered and the shrimp were fresh and tasty. I ordered the blackened catfish with shrimp étouffée, the catfish was great, shrimp étouffée was good, the rice was ehhh. Great kids menu, popcorn shrimp was good, kids polished their baskets clean. Overall good value, nothing exceptional but a safe place to grab a bite.

  • Jeff M.

First time here, I ordered the catch of the day, which was snapper. I had it blackened and it was great. Service was great, although there was not many people here. I would eat here again.

  • Andrea M.

This place was decent. There was variety of seafood items at okay prices. I had the craw fish po boy. It was good enough to fill me, but a guy would say otherwise since it doesn't come with fries. The atmosphere was laid back for a dine in place. There was a television with the news on and interesting nick knacks on the walls. There was outdoor seating with fans and a light mist to fight the heat.

We stopped for an all-you-can-eat whitefish lunch. Very reasonably priced. Very friendly staff. We each got something a little different: mine baked and his fried. We both decided the baked was definitely better and had great spices added to it. The breading took a little bit of the good fish flavor away. Cole slaw and hush puppies were outstanding. And knowing how much I loved the puppies (and that we were here on vacation), the waitress even brought out a few extra for me. Would definitely give this a 5 star rating for lunch if the breading was a little better. But get it baked and problem solved!

We were looking for an inexpensive seafood restaurant and used Yelp to find this place. It is a dive. Definitely inexpensive, but I don't think it deserves 4.5 stars. The kids meals were mostly French fries and very little seafood. I ordered blackened white fish and blackened shrimp, salad, and fried okra. The salad was ok, the died okra was good, the shrimp was good, but the fish was awful!!! It seems to have been dipped in some sort of an egg batter before it was grilled to hold it together. I can taste the eggs and the texture was too rubbery. My husband ordered the same dish with catfish instead, it was even more disgusting! The entrees come with shrimp coleslaw...it had too much mayo, but it was ok. The staff was very friendly. I don't think I'll be visiting this place again.

    (3)
  • Kinda A.

The food was not good at all. My family wanted some take out since we just got in town. We had a few orders of the blackened catfish and shrimp. I don't think the catfish had any seasoning at all. The shrimp was a little better but still subpar. $71 down the drain. My mother didn't even eat more than one bite of her food she was so dissatisfied. Never again.

Update: Shrimp Basket's customer service department did contact me to follow up and is passing along my comments to the district manager. I hope things improve soon.

  • Bill P.

Value for the price was great. $10 dozen oysters bargin! Large wait staff. Only down is outside is right next to the hwy. I would recommend trying it. We will be back.

    (4)
  • Neil W.

Good casual seafood reasonably priced and accessible. Waiter was nice and attentive. I had shrimp étouffée. Not quite as good as Nawlins but definitely better than I expected from a chain. I'll be back.

    (4)
  • Tara H.

This place was fantastic for a chain. I don't usually go to chain restaurants on vaca, but it was an excellent choice.

Stopped at the Shrimp Basket while we were in Destin...and VERY glad we did. Wifey and I were down there on a short vacation...and had great food everywhere! We both ordered the Steamed Shrimp Platter...1/2 lb of steamed shrimp, new potatoes, corn and shrimp slaw. The shrimp were steamed to perfection and seasoned well. The potatoes and corn were very good. The shrimp slaw, which some rave about, was good...but did not overly taste of shrimp, just a good slaw. Given the freshness of the shrimp, these were some of the best that wifey and I have had in all our travels...we thoroughly enjoyed them! Service was good, a tad bit slow...but...hey, we were on vacation! Also, we were able to sit on the patio and Macie Doodles (our Bichon Frise) was able to join us...always a perk and treat!

  • Nikki T.

They did not have a good service here, the servers were really rude when we asked for a togo cup of water for my little boy. After that the guy that works here passed by and told us he already told the server( he supposed to stop by and tell us with the "good" manner). Very poor services here, they don't even worth one star.

    (1)
  • Jules W.

So stinkin good! Went at lunch time and sat on the patio (win!). The only thing that would have made it better would have been a Gulf view. The food was great - had oysters (raw) that were good and briny (but the shells were a little dirty - maybe knock the seaweed off next time - I know where they come from and stuff, but geez). And our lunch was good too - fish tacos (Mahi) were a lil dry - may need a little tarter sauce - and they have cheese on them (I'm not a fan of cheese and seafood). And the fried shrimp was great - lightly breaded, so you can actually taste the shrimpys! Our server wasn't great - others were def more attentive that we saw. We're chalking it up that she must be new. Oh - and they let dogs on the patio! Win!

    (4)
  • Pam V.

On vacation and saw this place and stopped by.....Great Food!! Loved the homemade tartar sauce.. .the oysters were great. Ordered the shimp and oyster basket and very happy that you received shimp and oysters and not a lot of frys. Will be back next time in Destin!!!

    (4)
  • Andrew W.

The parking was easy and the staff was friendly. The garlic butter shrimp was a bit over cooked but the waiter compensated us with a free appetizer. Overall its an A-OK place with a caring staff. Cheers!

    (3)
  • Atlanta F.

We love this place. Great for families and reasonable price for what you get. Service can be spotty but all in all we always go back!

    (4)
  • David R.

Absolutely the worst shrimp po boy I've ever had. The shrimp had no taste to it. Very disappointing. I will never understand why restaurants right next to the ocean use frozen shrimp from out of state. You can get better shrimp at Captain D's.

    (1)
  • Lisa M.

I LOVED THIS PLACE. The food was fresh and delicious. The server was friendly and efficient. The price was perfect. I went for lunch with no wait.

    (5)
  • Laura C.

For starters, I think it was the cheapest meal we ate in Destin :). We both had the fried shrimp basket and the shrimp were good. I've had better, but I've definitely had worse! The waitress was nice and attentive. We both enjoyed our meal here and for the price it was a deal!

    (3)
  • Larry E.

Tried this again. Inquired about the étouffée but they were still on the new recipe so I had a shrimp Poboy and red beans and rice. These were both good.

    (3)
  • Diane N.

I've eaten at The Shrimp Basket twice since arriving in Destin; however, I do not plan to return. My first experience (lunch) was far better than my second experience (dinner.) First experience: Steamed Shrimp Platter. The meal was excellent. I ordered it with steamed broccoli, cabbage and corn on the cob. The service was great and our server was quite friendly and engaging. Second experience: My husband and I decided to eat at the bar. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with this decision. The restaurant wasn't super full; yet, there were tons of people crowding the bar area and CHILDREN sitting all around the bar. Hmm. Overall, our second experience at The Shrimp Basket made us realize how the restaurant really isn't the best quality. If you're looking for tasty, fresh seafood - I would pass on The Shrimp Basket (unless you're willing to eat a sub-par, overpriced meal.)

    (3)
  • Khemraj H.

Good tasting food but service is questionable especially when you have to wait 15 minutes in between all-you-can-eat shrimp plates.

    (3)
  • Jeff M.

We love this place and is one of the places we always go when we are in Destin. The fried shrimp is great but the fisherman's platter is my favorite.

    (4)
  • Sue Q.

Scallops were delicious! Hubby had all you can eat steamed shrimp - very fresh. Clean fast service and reasonably priced wine and beer.

    (4)
  • Omar N.

Another typical casual Florida restaurant. This place was recommended to us by our daughter so we have it a try. Surprisingly good. Service was excellent, friendly, and very accommodating. Our party of three tried shrimp (of course) and it was just perfect. The grilled shrimp was cooked and seasoned just right!! The fried shrimp the same. Hush puppies very good. Tasty and fluffy. Absolutely the best cole slaw we've eaten in a long time. The bits of shrimp made it delectable and oh so yummy! Our server promised a fresh cup of coffee and it was! Nice and hot and definitely fresh! We most certainly will return. Prices are reasonable and portions are satisfying. Good place.

    (4)
  • C M.

The typical seafood basket place. Oysters (fried) were large and succulent. Shrimp was tasty. I heard the gumbo was OK but better was available elsewhere. Adult beverages were small and served in plastic Dixie cups of all things. Coleslaw was creamy and good. Was supposed to have shrimp in it, couldn't prove it by me.

    (3)
  • Stephanie G.

Fast, friendly, and you get a lot of food for your money. We had country fried pork and a blackened shrimp poboy. The sandwich was amazing and the pork was good as well. We got more than we could eat! Definitely will return!

    (5)
  • Denise S.

The food was pretty good and the menu section was better than most small seafood joints. The issue is the service and the portions. They give you small portions and the take forever to serve you. I went on a Tuesday night so it was not packed and yet it took 10 to 15 minutes to get served on so cups were empty and refill of all you can eat shrimp.

    (2)
  • Logan D.

We went on a Thursday night and arrived at 6p, seated within 5 minutes of arrival but our order wasn't taken for 20 min and the food didn't arrive for another 30. The staff was super friendly and fast when you had them but there just weren't enough staff for the number of diners. I had the whitefish which included fries, slaw and hush puppies. The fries and hush puppies weren't anything special but the fish was seasoned and cooked beautifully. The slaw was excellent and included shrimp in the mix. Some in the party had drinks but they were out of lime so we made do with lemon. The shrimp I tasted from others was also wonderfully seasoned and the portions were extremely generous for the price. If the service improved we'd have a 5-star review. Food - 4 Service - 2 Price - 5

    (4)
  • Quentella M.

Service was not good. It took a long time to receive any food. They ran out of there signature slaw. Food was NOT good! Fried fish dry. Cabbage not seasoned and almost raw. Rice not cooked. Over all experience was poor. 2 stars went for the poor waitress that was in the middle of the customers and the unorganized kitchen.

    (2)
  • Arizona T.

Awesome cheap food. Try the blackened Whitefish with Crawfish Etoufie. Amazing! Bama Oysters = Not bad Coconut Shrimp = excellent

    (4)
  • Brian F.

Received a phone call from the General Manager of Bubba Gumps today. I explained my frustrations and she actually seemed like she cared! That is why I am changing my rating to 5 stars. With a company that actually cares about their reviews and my thoughts, I will definitely be back next time in Destin. Every company and every person can have a bad day or make wrong decisions but its how you move on and learn is the key. Chalk one up for Yelp! And Bubba Gumps!

    (5)
  • Kaylin B.

Eh, not sure what the fuss is about. There's far better seafood places in Destin, even dive-y ones just like The Shrimp Basket. I opted for a bowl of the seafood gumbo. While the roux was on target, the amount of small shrimp and crab in the bowl was unimpressively small. It's seems they've cheaped out where they should impress, and I'm not talking about the ambiance.

    (2)
  • Gail J.

Food was good, fried shrimp best thing on the menu. Price reasonable, I would go again and so would the other 5 guest with me. We enjoyed it but not enough to give 5 stars.

    (4)
  • Mark H.

Another average restaurant on the emerald coast. I don't have anything bad to say about the place, just that the food is average. If you are looking for a relatively quick meal at decent prices for a tourist town, it isn't a bad choice.

    (3)
  • Lisa B.

Good fresh food and the portions are huge! There was enough food on my plate to feed three adults!

    (4)
  • Mark B.

Place is fine. There are a number of better places in Destin for good cheap seafood. It is very easy to see this place used to be a McDonalds with some aspects carrying over to The Shrimp Basket. There was nothing exceptional about this place, but it was not bad either. Their house brand hot sauce is pretty good. The service was fine, but not especially attentive. I had the blackened shrimp that were a little for what I expected. I know this sounds weird, but I don't like lemon in my water and this is what I asked for and I end up with lemon in my water. It is easy to take out, but the slight taste is still there. Meh.

  • Edward H.

The slow crew must have been working the night we arrived at 8pm for dinner. There were 4 waitresses and only 20 people in the place. After a 15 minute wait the waitress brought drinks and made us wait another 10 minutes before taking our order. After waiting another 20 minutes in the half empty restaurant, we began to worry that they had forgotten our order. Asking the manager got us an apology and another 15 minute wait. Should we have just walked out? But being hungry we hoped that they would finally bring our food. We should have left. The fried shrimp was fresh, but very greasy. Two of our party could not eat their greasy shrimp. I regretted eating mine. The manager only charged us for one of the inedible meals. In a half empty casual restaurant you hope for quick service and a tasty meal. Don't bother going to the Shrimp Basket. It's a roll of the dice whether the food or service will be good.

If I could give less than one star I would!!!! It's a compete embarrassment to me that I brought friends to restaurant that I have went to over 15 years!!! Waited for 30 minutes for appetizers! And we left after being at this poor excuse for a restaurant for over an hour!!! We were stuck eating fast food after trying to have a great meal at an established restaurant!! You should be ashamed to even offer this level of service to people they only have one week to vacation in Destin! We have visited the Gulf Shorez location and never been ashamed to bring anyone to a Shrimp Basket!!! The Destin location should be ashamed to be in business!!!

    (1)
  • Carla G.

Delicious! Casual! Love it! We sat at the bar. I had blackened red snapper (delicious) and hubby had fried shrimp (yummmmmm)!!!! So good. If you want good food and you're ok with a truly casual setting (I ate my app of oysters and cheese sticks off paper towel), this is for you!!!! Chill out at the bar and relax! :)

Stopped in here 6/10/2013. We enjoyed a very good basic seafood meal at a decent price. My daughter and I tried their fried seafood basket that allowed you to pick two of any of the seafood items and a side. We both ordered the fried crab claws and shrimp with new potatoes and fries as our sides. The quantity and quality was of the food was great! The seafood was perfectly fried and not at all oily or greasy. The fries were fresh tasting and the steamed new potatoes were very good but a little bland, they really could have used a touch of seasoning in the cooking process. Hush puppies and cole slaw were also included in the basket, both were good though nothing out of the ordinary. Our service was attentive and prompt. The total of our meal including beverages was under 30.00. Overall it was a nice meal at a good price. I'd go back anytime.

    (4)
  • Morgan H.

Great prices here! Good portion sizes as well. Coconut shrimp was really tasty, as was the crawfish! We got take out on the last night of our trip. Would definitely recommend!

    (4)
  • Shannon B.

Can't go wrong with the fried shrimp basket. My hubby got the blackened shrimp which was really tasty. For beach food I give it a 4.5... For atmosphere, a 2.5 it's on a main road in an old McDonalds... But a tasty lunch meal that's served quick with a friendly smile.

    (4)
  • Phoebe W.

The one star may be slightly harsh but I have to say that this was one of the more disappointing "seafood restaurants" in Destin. Our total amounted to about $70, a quite pricey meal considering the quality of the food. The seafood gumbo was horrible, watered down with little ingredients (a small bowl was $7!! Not to mention presented in a styrofoam bowl). Food overall: Seafood was not fresh, over fried, SMALL portions

    (1)
  • Jessica B.

The flavor & freshness of the food was great! We went on all you can eat shrimp night, and we tasted each other's blackened, grilled, and fried. The blackened & grilled were very salty. The hush puppies were the best we've had! The only reason I gave it only 3 stars is because several of the shrimp weren't deveined. Eww! Our waitress Tara was super sweet & patient with us 1st timers!

    (3)
  • Travis D.

Went for lunch, good prices, good service, basket fried food extravaganza. Nothing out of the norm on the menu, so not 5 stars, but overall good little lunch.

    (4)
  • Anne L.

$2.50 ice cold draft bud light! We ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and they were delicious. Went back a seond time, on our trip and were delightfully surprised with the Shrimp Etouffe and Fish Sandwich. Glad to know they are consistent.

    (4)
  • Vince A.

This was really tasty! This is just a lower price easy to get to place , no real beer or wine selection. No atmosphere, but a good go to if you have a group and want to go on the cheap. Their food is every bit as good as any of the high priced restaurants where you are paying for a view and fancy table cloths, If this is what your looking for go someplace else.

    (4)
  • Pamela C.

While on our vacation we ate here twice. Both times were equally good. We had the ayce Shrimp one day and then the next time we had grilled blackened shrimp and catfish. The food was prepared very well. The place was busy but we were served quickly. We really enjoyed the shrimp slaw. Some of the best slaw I've ever had. They did not have a lunch special but the price was very reasonable. This will be one of our regular stops from now on.

    (5)
  • Or C.

Slow service. Cold appetizer. Cold entree. No reason to ever come back.

    (1)
  • Linda W.

Have been here twice in the last week and found the service to be fine as well as friendly. Food was very good, the February Poorboy special is a great value. Will probably go back again!!

    (4)
  • Scott P.

Good food and very friendly servers. Kind of pricey for the quality. Not on my list to return but I would not discourage others from trying it.

    (3)
  • Cynthia M.

    Great tasting food and slaw!

    (5)
  • Sharon H.

It was ok. We had oysters on the half-shell, Fried shrimp and steamed shrimp platters. The "drawn" butter was a gel. When we asked for drawn butter, the same gel was brought out. Perhaps it was not real butter. Family of 3 adults and 2 kids ate for $80. Two adults has draft beer, Bud Light was the only beer on draft. The cole slaw had mini baby shrimp which was good. Hushpuppies seemed frozen.

    (3)
  • F. L.

Food was okay, nothing to rave on and on about. I got the all you can eat fish. They bring you 4 small pieces of fish to start then you have to wait 10 minutes for them to bring you 2 more. Service of fine. 2 kids meals, 2 adult meals and 1 drink was $40.00. Not to bad for the money. Compared to the $80.00 we have spent for the same food with an ocean view.

  • Katie D.

This place is great! I got the shrimp étouffée, which also came with fried shrimp. Both were delicious, gotta give it to the étouffée though because it was truly amazing. The rice was good even by itself, seemed like a pilaf. The étouffée was a little spicy and delicious, lots of shrimp. It also came with shrimp slaw which is basically coleslaw with shrimp. Amazing, it was great. The fried shrimp were too, they were just a little spicy. I highly recommend that platter, and it was so much food, too. The service was great as well, very friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend this place.

So, this place has a lot of potential. A couple of things I would work on changing to make this a great spot for catching a quick bite to eat durning the day. -1 star: Dinner salad. It was sad. really sad. Iceberg lettuce with sad bacon bits. A very sad attempt to add dried cranberries. then top it with sprinkled cheese from Costco? It failed so miserably that it went home and was punished for a week without video games until it could pass as a salad. #Fail. The salad dressing was in a container, that oozed out onto the salad like a jelly. Yes, jelly. It's lazy to have pre-made salad dressings like this, especially for Italian. It's easy. Oil, vinegar, spices. That's it. It would make your menu so much better if you didn't have a salad with that crap. -1 star: Table across from our table was not cleaned for over an hour. Still wasn't cleaned when we left. Place was really slow. Let's clean up tables so flies don't congregate around the folks still there, eating. Also, it was outside... so yummy. -1 star: menu explanation of baskets. Would be nice to know its a 12 piece basket. +1 star: Hostess was super friendly along with waitress. Very talkative and just great, smiling people. Can't beat decent food with smiling people. Overall, if they cleaned up some of the menu misfortunes, then it would be a solid 4 star. Especially with it being so affordable.

For our first night in Destin, we were a little tired and wanted somewhere low key to go. The outdoor space here is nice and the atmosphere is relaxed. Our waitress nice and friendly. I had the all you can eat fried shrimp basket, with corn, hush puppies, and new potatoes. All of it was good, but nothing to write home about. The tartar sauce was good. I loved the hush puppies, but only two came with the meal and they were pretty small. Boyfriend got the smoked tuna dip po boy, which he said he wouldn't get again. He also got the oysters as an appetizer and really liked those. This place is just okay. I wouldn't want to go back a second time.

Skip the long wait at Boshamps! Shrimp Basket has the seafood you want!! The fried shrimp, fried fish, grilled shrimp, gumbo, shrimp étouffée, red beans and rice, fried corn fritters, raw oysters, fried pickles, cheese grits, shrimp in the coleslaw.... ALL left us in a food comatose! There was 7 of us and we all tried something different but shared to get a taste of everything... So dang delicious!!! We've been here all week and we tried boathouse, AJ's, Floyd's and nothing compared to this place!!! Shrimp Basket was the best! We came in on a Friday night at 7pm and they sat us down right away! Our waitress was wonderful and on point!!! So glad Boshamps had a long wait otherwise we would have never found this place!!! Thank you Shrimp Basket for being so good, awesome and everything we were looking for for our seafood cravings!!!

Overall, I would probably rate this place as average. I wouldn't discourage anyone from going, but it's not on my short list of places you MUST visit while in Destin. When we first walked in the host asked one of the servers if she wanted our table and, right in front of us, she made it clear she didn't. Um, okay. That was our gain because the server we ended up with was very sweet and helpful when it came to recommending certain items and answering questions about the menu. The meals: We started off with fried pickles at the server's recommendation and I must say they were actually pretty good. They were cooked crispy, not at all soggy, and came with ranch....just how I like them! I had the fried fish basket and my mother-in-law had the seafood platter. The fish was very good, next to no belly in there, mostly white. MIL said her oysters were great (crispy) and the rest was good, but not spectacular or anything. My husband had the all-you-can-eat steamed shrimp and said it was cooked well, but lacked seasoning. He had to salt and pepper each plate after peeling them. None of the food was particularly bad, but for over $60 I would have expected a little more.

  • Sam F.

I got the fish and shrimp basket . The food is average but price is decent. Don't get the fried stuffed crab , not a good call to get that and the hush puppies are better at Captain D's. It's a place to go if you are tourist just to say you tried it. I was a tourist. It's an ok place

    (2)
  • Angy N.

I really enjoyed the AYCE shrimp for 12.99 (which included the grilled, blackened and fried shrimp) I believe it was 11.99 for just friend shrimp. The shrimp portions are decent and you can't beat the price. I also had the beans and rice as my side, and I really loved it all. Our waiter was really kind and considerate, putting in a re-order of shrimp while he tended to a bigger party. I'd go back, I do think the need additional staff for the busier days like Saturday.

    (4)
  • Tanja K.

Local chain, not fancy and mostly fried, but for what they do, they do it well. Shrimp tacos were very good. Fried popcorn shrimp done well. Red beans and rice were creamy but could have been spicier. Atmosphere a bit downmarket but prices were great.

    (3)
  • Julia H.

Cheap prices for good seafood! Food was delicious and service was outstanding. We had a large party and was seated within 30 minutes. Not a lot of parking but definitely worth it. I had the steamed shrimp and it was perfect. Everyone in our group ordered something different and all were impressed.

Love the service! Great food! I love the Shrimp Ettouffe , my favorite, and also the rice and beans with sausage on top is amazing! And the best part is the hushpuppies, they taste sooo good.. The prices are very reasonable and service is fast and friendly..

  • Aaron A.

This is a place you go if you want something fried and nothing fancy. The food was mediocre, I ordered the fish and shrimp basket, there wasn't a lot of flavor, wife ordered the shrimp basket. The portion were not enough to justify the mediocre flavor.

    (3)
  • James H.

Tried the Snapper, it was alright. I got the blackened snapper with fries. It wasn't anything spectacular. Kind of just tasted like Mahi-Mahi. It was 13.99, so it wasn't too bad for the price. I should have gotten the Shrimp-Adefe or however you spell it :) My gf got that and it was GREAT! The portion was a bit small though.

  • Colby M.

Food was Great and price also. went 2 nights in one week staying Destin. Also they have great All You Can Eat specials through the week.

  • Chilly P.

My family and I had the most wonderful waitress - she made our experience smooth and enjoyable. She brought our drinks and food in a timely manner, chatted with all of us and offered to take our group picture. Customer service is very much important as the food and she went above and beyond. I wished I remembered her name! The food was good but most of their menu is battered and deep fried. Not very helpful when you're trying to eat healthy. I wanted to customize my dish but it was not allowed. Very bazaar. I still enjoyed the food but their menu needs more variety. 5 stars for service but 3 for food.

    (3)

The fried shrimp was good and so was the shrimp & grits. The service was slow and the atmosphere is not that great.

Well we start off with positives. The all you can eat catfish. Catfish was hot had had great flavor. I enjoyed the coleslaw and overall experience was well. Things need improving: Most of tables where not clean. My waiter who tried to be attentive had way too many tables for one person to handle. I didnot need re order of catfish but I did want more hush puppies and took a long time for refill. The waiter asked for hush puppies three times I heard him, but I think there was only one cook trying cook food and do oysters at bar. I will return, I would like to see employees and people washing their hands.

The food was good. My kids and husband enjoyed their baskets. It took a bit to get our food. With 4 kids who'd been at the beach it was stressful trying to keep them entertained and not bother the other diners....when it came time to check out our waiter was helping another large table that had just came in and so we waited a bit. Finally I left with kids to car and husband tracked him down. It was understandable. We may come back the next time we are in destin.

Whenever I'm in the area, I like to try something new. I'm looking for something specific--coastal seafood--something involving hush-puppies and maybe some slaw. Or a grouper sandwich. Or some fried oysters served in a parchment-lined basket. I found it here. It was after the lunch rush, and I was seated immediately. I ordered the gumbo and the fried Shrimp & Oyster combo basket, with a side of baked beans. The gumbo arrived almost immediately. It was the star of the show. Seemed very fresh. It totally hit the spot. The shrimp & oysters took a little while, but it was clear they arrived right out of the fryer. Very tasty. The beans were alright. The price point seemed a little high, and that may be the thing which keeps me from returning. But overall, it was a good experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to suggest you try them out.

It's a chain--I know, but I really like to eat here! I would love it if we had this chain in Memphis!! My date and I dined here with another couple on a beautiful Saturday night. We ate outside on the patio. The Service: Very nice, attentive, knowledgable about the menu, and kept our drinks filled. The Food: Grilled shrimp--a bit spicy, but good. Not fresh from the Gulf, but not bad for a chain. It was served on a bed of plain white rice, which was nothing to brag about. Fried shrimp: My niece really liked it and the left-overs worked well in a salad the next day. Fried catfish basket with baked beans and new potatoes: My date devoured the entire meal. He also ordered fried pickles, which we all enjoyed. The Atmosphere: I do not like to dine inside at this location. It is a bit dark and stuffy, as well as much too loud. I'd much rather sit outside and feel the FL breeze. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area for quick seafood.

We didn't really have high expectations for the Shrimp Basket - mostly because it's a chain and they've gone nothing to change the inner appearance of the old restaurant that they moved into. But, we still decided to give a go, for lunch. We ordered a cheeseburger, grilled shrimp and boom boom shrimp - the food was mediocre and way overpriced (for the quality of the inside of the restaurant AND the actual food). We found out that we won't have to waste a meal here, again.

I got an oyster poboy and hush puppies here. Neither was bad ... Not like you'd get in New Orleans, but for a little place in Destin, not bad.

Looks unassuming but I promise you won't be disappointed! I enjoyed the seafood gumbo and the red beans and rice "house special"......the conecuh sausage was DELICIOUS in the beans and rice. It's also neat that their coleslaw has shrimp in it. I am not a coleslaw fan and I loved theirs! Will definitely return when I am in the area and highly recommend this place!!!!

Ate here on my way to the airport capping a wonderful vacation in Destin, FL. The service was awesome. (Thanks for opening up ten minutes early.) The food equally awesome. I wish I had time to sample some of the beers, but alas I was driving. I'll definitely be back soon.

Great place to eat! We were seated very quickly and the staff was very nice. Ordered gumbo and it was very very good. Food came out quickly and was amazing. Ordered the Blackened chicken and shrimp combo and it was great. The blackened catfish was good as well. Highly recommend. Spacious seating and outdoor patio as well

Tried it out. Not disappointed. Full house, got sat down within 20 minutes. Got all you can eat shrimp, they brought another plate out in a timely manner. Never had to wait for a refill, and the total price was under $55 including a $10 tip. Wife even liked it and she's not a big fan of seafood.

A disappointment, greasy food, slow service, shrimp just so so, not as good as other Destin restaurants. It would be good shrimp at home in Ohio but not for Destin. Hush puppies nothing special.

Good place with cheap seafoods compared with others. We ate there for lunch and my gf' enjoyed her fried oysters and shrimp. I ordered the all-you-can eat steamed shrimp and enjoyed that as well. It wasn't the best shrimp I've had as they were basically just small to medium whole shrimps boiled in cajun for you to peel......don't order this if you don't want to peel shrimps plate by plate. The waiter/waitress will ask you if you want another plate only if you finished the one in front of you. Each plate contained about 10-15 shrimps. The first plate will have other sides. Overall I would come back and tried another item on the menu.

Mahi tacos were amazing! Delicious food and cheap. We ate outside, and had excellent service. My husband would eat here every night.
