This bar recently opened a couple of months ago and I hope that the locals will find out about this bar. It's right across from The Loggerhead Grill (it's a Food Truck) and next to The Red Door. Anyways, this place is owned by Addie (I think her full name is something like Mary Adeline or something fancy like that) and George. They are super friendly people and are looking to start up their new bar here in Destin. They do not have beer on tap, but they do have Fat Tuesday Frozen Drinks and can concoct any cocktail that you desire. I must say, they have some great frozen drinks such as the Bushwacker which tastes like a Bailey's inspired smoothie. YUMMY! And many more strange names...for example, Skinny Beach and Monkey Juice...say what?! Definitely try them out! Hell, even if you are a tourist come and visit if you want something a little more low key with that 'hidden gem' feel. A smart thing that they are planning on doing is opening a food truck adjacent to their bar for drunk people to grab some food. Hell, currently Addie is cooking some breakfast if you are hungover and need something to eat! Hit up The Monkey Bar and support these awesome people--good owners who support this community with a friendly service. I cannot wait to see how this place progresses and manages to grow and develop into something more great. Next review is pending!!

I spent the entire night going from bar to bar here in Destin looking for the atmosphere this bar provides. Unlike the other supposedly dive bars (that really feel like corporate bars trying to be divey but fail to measure up), this bar actually gives you the divey feel. And don't take this to mean that the bar itself is rundown, it's decorated and finished like a real ocean bar should be. But like any good dive bar, and unlike the other bars here in Destin, the experience isn't so much something the bar forces on you as it is something you'll create with your friends. Also, if you are so inclined, the bar is very friendly and accepting of gay clientele, which is something that seems to be swept under the rug in the city of Destin.

Very limited bar. Bartender didn't know how to make certain drinks or didn't have the alcohol needed. $2 drink specials were extremely small. Great bar for sitting outside, but not impressive overall.

Spent the evening at the harbor and came across this quaint little bar. It's small. Maximum capacity is 48 people. Wasn't very busy at all and we were there on a Saturday night. But I kind of liked that it wasn't overcrowded with a bunch of people/tourists. They have $1 fireball and sour monkey shots. No beers on tap. Bartender was nice. They also have live music. We had fun reading the signs in the bar. They also have a TV so that's a plus for sports/games. I will definitely be going back again for drinks again. And bonus: awesome food truck right across the dock. Get you grub on and then head to the bar.

We stopped by after seeing the good reviews on here.... 8pm on a Friday night and wow.... We were literally the only two people in there. The bar tender was cool, beer was fairly cold, but the pre-mixed slushy drinks were sub-par. We drank our drinks (well my girlfriend attempted to drink her slushy) and we hit the road. Spend your money elsewhere unless you're a George Thorogood fan and like to.... Drink alone....

Great band and was not packed with idiots. You can sit and in joy your beer. Not fancy but just right. You must drop in.
