Took the advice of our hotel's bartender and have to give him kudos's on this place. It was the best food that we had while visiting Destin. The atmosphere has a great old-school seafood restaurant feel about it and there is seating available outside where you can view the harbor. I have to agree with many of the other poster's the Sushi is fantastic! My daughter ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and WOW it was great! I had one of their seafood pasta dishes that really was well prepared that came with a good wedge salad. Next time I'm going with the Sushi even though that is usually not my speed. Reportedly much of the seafood that they serve they buy directly from the many fishing boats that call Destin harbor home. If taste can be a validation then the rumor is true. I hate to use the old clique but there was not a hint of "fishyness" about it. Service was prompt even though the place was packed at 9:00 in the middle of the week. We were with a big group and a split check was handled with no problems at all.

Harbor Docks has pretty good food, but the prices are too high for what you get. The sushi is great but not the best around. Do yourself a favor and be sure to order off of the board. They'll list their freshly caught fish at the doorway of the restaurant. Overall, they offer good food, but $80 to feed two can be more wisely spent elsewhere. Oh, and a great view of the Harbor.

Good food, fantastic atmosphere right on the docks, with the gulls and all. You can walk out on the pier after the meal and the birds will fly right up to you. Unfortunately, $100 for a 3-person meal is a bit expensive for me. It just wasn't a $100 meal, imo.

My husband & I wanted seafood for lunch, so when we saw this we decided to stop. We sat outside & had a great view of the boats pulling in & out, but the table was dirty. Menu was decent, but the "thai" section threw me off a bit. My husband ordered the special, spicy fried grouper fingers with coleslaw, cheesegrits, & a hushpuppy, while I ordered the grilled mahi sandwich. My first order came back as a mahi platter, which I had to send back, but it was quickly corrected. Needless to say, the sandwich was about the size of a crystal burger & fell apart in seconds. I had to eat it with a fork! The fries weren't seasoned, & neither was the tartar sauce. (& of course there was no salt & pepper on any table) I couldn't tell about the cole slaw, as I was only given a tablespoon of it. My husband had about the same luck. The grouper wasn't spicy, & the cheesy grits were cheesy in name only. He did eat the hushpuppy & cole slaw, though! All in all, the service & food were about as ridiculous as the prices...

So the boyfriend and I wear in search for a good breakfast spot. Donuthole's line was at least a 2 hour wait and I noticed Harbor Docks serves breakfast, they have a nice digital sign that attracted us. Notice: The nice digital sign attracted us.......Don't be fooled! We pull into Harbor Docks, it is not crowded at all. We're seated at a small table on the left of the patio. The hostess seated us there. At least 25 minutes goes by and we still haven't even been approached by a wait staff, a flustered waitress speeds by huffing and puffing, "Can I get you some coffee?" Coffee comes and then she disappears in thin air and never comes back to take our order. My boyfriend needed more coffee and I got up, took his cup to refill it myself, the waitress even saw me refilling the coffee and didn't bother to ask to get it for me. About an hour or plus later our order is finally taken. Our food comes out 1 hour plus later as well. "This is the worst eggs benedict I've ever had in my life and I want some more coffee!" "I'm sorry honey, but my ham is overcooked and dry and I'm putting ketchup on it." "Do people normally use ketchup as an add on to their ham?" My 2 egg whites were literally the size of 1/4 of one egg white. Yum, I had scraps. So the experience sucked. The patio is beautiful but it doesn't hold a candle to some other patios we've eaten off of. Don't go to Harbor Docks for breakfast unless you want to be really disappointed, hungry, sleepy from being coffee deprived and pissed. Note: I couldn't help but wonder about all the staff walking around not doing anything, this place gots it seriously going on!

We visited because the seafood is purported to be some of the freshest in Destin. The seafood may, in fact, be fresh, but my grilled tuna was way overdone, despite my request for "medium." The service was slow, and none of the food we ordered was in any way impressive. This is supposed to be a Destin favorite, but our visit did nothing to explain it. We did try the famed sushi, and it was probably the best thing on the table.

Hard to beat it: fresh seafood, straight from the fishing boat to your table. This is the place to go.

Review from my Tuesday night dinner: What an excellent night at Harbor Docks! We dined outside on the deck...beautiful sunset overlooking the still water. We ordered the peel and eat shrimp and they came out almost immediately! We got the large thinking the small was going to be like 6 shrimp. A full basket of probably 30 shrimp came out...we made it halfway through, took the rest home. The entire back half of the menu was sushi!!! It was the perfect restaurant because I wanted sushi and my companion wanted fish. He got the red snapper, it was great. I got 2 rolls-the Amazon and Panhandle. OMG, so good! I couldn't stop making noises and I savored every bite the way the flavors mixed. AWESOME rolls and they are completely different. I eat sushi ALL the time...this was good stuff. Our server, Garrett, did an excellent job. After eating at Outback last week and having 2 servers hound us to death...it was refreshing to have one waiter that checked in periodically. The only complaint was my loving male companion wished the valet had opened the door for me, but I was good getting my own door. What a memorable night. Harbor Docks, I have to edit my review and downgrade you, unfortunately. Review from my Friday night return dinner: So my Tuesday dinner was so delicious, I went back Friday evening with the family. I ordered basically the same thing and it was consistent, but that's not why I have to give them a lower review. My mom has a food allergy and we are incredibly adamant about it being a spice allergy without going into details since people don't really know of any other kind of allergy other than one that requires an epi-pen. Anyway, we did our due diligence in telling the waitress of a pepper and general spice allergy, so "please, NO SPICY MAYO on the sushi roll!!" Sounds simple enough, right? What happens? Spicy mayo comes out on the sushi roll, but it's buried inside. Mom takes a bite and asks us if it has spicy mayo in it. To which we aren't certain because we have the flavors of our own rolls in our mouths....anyway, I take it to the waitress who felt like yes there was spicy mayo and she got us another roll. Now it's awesome that my mom doesn't have a food allergy that makes her fall out in a restaurant, but you would be horrified to know that she had a mouthful of blistering ulcers by the time we went to bed that night and she had to deal with them for over a week as they healed. THANK YOU HARBOR DOCKS staff! So if you are going to eat here, be your own advocate because your waitress is not looking out for your food allergy. The chef is Not looking out for your food allergy and obviously management is NOT looking out for your food allergy either. And the valet parking leaves much to be desired. The line of over 20 people waiting to leave at just 6:30pm was horrendous.

There are far better restaurants on Destin Harbor.

BEST SUSHI!!! Harbor Docks easily has the best sushi in the Panhandle. It's extremely fresh and creative and made by well-trained sushi chefs under the direction of the renowned Chef Yoshie. The sushi bar next to the Hibachi tables has a fantastic view of Destin Harbor. Thursday night is ladies night which offers $2 off of rolls and 1/2 price drinks. A fabulous breakfast is also served at Harbor Docks.

Harbor Docks has the best sushi in town. It's far from the type of quality you get in Hawaii, LA, SF, or NY, but it's good enough to write home about for this part of the country. I'm a purist, you see, so I usually only order the raw stuff on top of sushi rice. I'll go for a roll now and then, but the only way to really know the quality of the fish and restaurant is to order their nigiri sushi. And like I said, Harbor Docks is pretty good. Check with the sushi chefs and ask if they have anything special hidden behind the counter. Sometimes they'll have off-menu items that they save for people who have the guts and experience to ask. The rest of their seafood is fresh and I highly recommend the place, even if you're not a big raw fish eating sushi fan.

We eat here every time we go to Destin. The food is alright and a little pricey, but the view is great. The kids love walking the docks and throwing crackers to the fish, and I love looking at the high dollar boats and all the fish being brought back in from the charters.

Harbor Dock's is par for the course. Restaurants along the beach in the Destin area are just not that great. The fish is fresh, but that's about the only good thing I can say. The place is dirtier and stinkier than I'm comfortable with. The house salad is pretty bad. At my last visit I had Grouper Parmadine, which was a filet of grouper smothered in some gross cream sauce. It was pretty sad. Again, the fish /is/ fresh, but they do just about everything else poorly.

Harbor Docks is a great choice for the Destin Harbor area, if you want to get something other than fried seafood. I tried the grilled Amber Jack at lunch - just $10. Came with a ginger lime rice, and a cucumber salad. Incredible!!! No bones in the fish, and everything was fresh. I loved that the cucumbers were sliced instead of slivered in the salad.

Went snorkeling at Destin Snorkel and Cooper suggested this place for us since we were 3 girls with different wants. Great spot to see the water and eat, friendly waitress, fast service for a busy lunch. They have fresh catch of the days on a new sheet of paper they print off everyday so I got the grilled grouper salad which was good but not 20.00 good, under seasoned and half iceberg lettuce (who does that one anymore, come on!) but a good lunch all in all and the fish was cooked great. My sister had grilled shrimp with a cucumber salad, I tried the shrimp and again under seasoned but cooked right, the rice was bland, the cucumber salad was to die for! I loved it so much I ordered myself a little bowl of it. My mom order fried grouper and hushpuppies, those hushpuppies we all could not stop talking about! BEST hushpuppies ever, extremely light and airy and crispy. Wonderful! I give it 3 stars because in the end the food was good, not exceptional, and the place is quaint, not beautiful. But it was a good place to go to for lunch. :)

Rating this a four because the food was very good and the waiter was phenomenal. I would have rated it lower if not for the waiter. Fish was very good, fresh and tasty but priced rather high ($27 for grilled fish, potatoes and small salad) given that atmosphere. Dark and bar-like and a bit smelly (spilled beer smelly, not fresh fish smelly). Finished dinner with key lime pie, which was average to below-average.

Good sushi. Had the soft shell crab roll - similar to the spider roll without the bells and whistles. Seaweed and cucumber salad was delicious. Good platters - recommend the crab cake, blackened amberjack fish, stuffed shrimp with potato and veggies was pretty good. Sit outside to watch the boats. Jeremy was our waiter and was very attentive and courteous. No frills dining, very casual.

The Sushi they serve here is the same as the sushi at Camille's (both restaurants are owned by the same people), but the rest of the menu is meh. I ordered a tuna steak last time I was there and it was covered in a grey gravy-like substance that robbed it of any potential flavor. Not that it mattered much, as the tuna itself had a texture like it came out of a can.

Sushi is great! I believe the seafood in the restaurant is good, but truthfully I cook most seafood at home, because going to Destin in the summer can be a chore. I think Harbor Docks is overpriced, which most restaurants in Destin are, but you get WAY better service at other restaurants paying the same price. Part of the allure of HD is the view and the weathered decor, but I would rather get a much better meal somewhere else for the price. Oh yeah, also parking is a Nightmare, you have to be valeted.

Went to Harbor Docks after recommendation from one of the fishing boat captains. Their fish comes straight from the docks. We had a party of 12, and everyone loved their entree. The fish was fresh, and tasted like it. Also, very well prepared. Would go again.

My rating is based on the food, not the service. We were disappointed. This place had the recommendation of our hotel's front desk. We had high hopes, but it just wasn't that great. We went on the second-to-last night of our honeymoon (our first in Destin). Ordered the smoked fish app, which was pretty good, but $12 good?? Not so much. Drinks were strong. His 2 pieces of yellowtail Nigiri were good. I ordered the Seafood Platter ($28); my hubby ordered the Surf 'n' Turf--his steak was nice. My oysters were tiny (we had just been in Apalach, but still!), soft-shell crab was not as good as I've had before, scallops were good. I am a seafood freak, so you know something is not right when I enjoy my baked potato the most. Service was fantastic though--a great group of ladies work there. We paid almost the exact same amount for dinner the next night at Pranzo in Ft. Walton Beach (Italian, not seafood restaurant) and were WAY more impressed and satisfied.

By far my favorite meal while I was in Destin! Had the chefs platter with 2 bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp which were the most amazing things, crab cake also so delicious, and the fresh catch grilled instead of blackened. A fantastic meal and will certainly return here always!

The grilled red snapper was amazing! You can come here and enjoy the outdoor patio on a warm day. A few good local beers as well. Came here twice during my business trip.

Went based on a recommendation from a local. Great service, good view, great food. Wait until you get your appetizer to order your food though. The kitchen cooks when the ticket arrives, & they don't pace meals. Will definitely dine again.

Nice view, terrible seafood. My fish had a rubbery texture. Kids Mac and cheese was good.

Smoked tuna dip was Awesome, just wish it came with fresh bread instead of saltines. You should get the fresh fish, cucumber salad and ginger rice-all superb! Also, the key lime pie is to DIE for!

The food was great !!!! The setting was amazing on the back deck. But for what we paid. The menus need replacing, we had to look back and forth from mine to my wife's menu to have the ability to read the app section. The sushi was great and flavor filled.. But for the price, quantity was seriously lacking.. I like the place but they need to give a little more in a few areas...

We came on July 4th for lunch as we were staying at Ft Walton and did not want to deal with the traffic that would come with coming here for dinner. We ate inside and got a good view of the water. We were disappointed that they didn't serve sushi for lunch so we settled for the Catch of the Day and got grouper. It was wonderfully cooked and flaky but wished it was bigger. I really liked the ginger rice, never had anything liked it before and wished there was a little less vinegar in the cucumber salad.
