When it comes to Thai food and sushi, I like to rely on recommendations from folks I know. So when a good friend raved about this restaurant for its Thai cuisine and fresh sushi, I was anxious to check it out. The restaurant is tucked into a small retail center overlooking Gulf to Bay Boulevard in Clearwater. Look for the original Hooters, activate your turn indicator and park in the lot. The interior is pleasant and there are booths as well as tables for guests. Service seems to always be with a smile and is attentive without being intrusive. My first visit I was oh-so-set for sushi but that particular night (can't recall why) sushi was not an option. So I quickly switched gears and got ready to Thai one on. The dish was suitably spicy (as requested) but the heat was not so high that it masked all of the more subtle flavors. Months later I swear I can still recall the delicious broth. Visit #2 meant it was time for sushi. Good thing I tried the Thai food first because if my initial visit was the sushi, I probably would only order sushi every time I went to dine there. Everything I tried - from my plate as well as my friend's - was outstanding. I like raw fish and really dislike fish that is tough to chew or has any sort of less-than-fresh-flavor or odor. That was not the case here. I have been back and will be back. It is not that often I find a Thai place I would recommend or a sushi place that stands out from others. How fun to have two-in-one and know I can go and enjoy either. Or maybe both!

With 2 stars I am being generous. This is simply an American Thai restaurant. Bleh.....My partner ordered Pad Thai mild and it came out nuclear. The kitchen remade the dish and my partner got violently ill about an hour after we left. My green curry tasted like dirty dish water. If you like it, good for you. We ate here in mid April and I do NOT recommend this to anyone who enjoys true authentic Thai food! The End!

Do not think for one second that what they are serving Thai food. I don't know what the heck sauces they use but they have a been watered down. This food taste like crap. I also ordered a green hot tea and couldn't drink it because it tasted like greese. Run don't walk aways from this place.

Great service, great atmosphere, amazing food!!! Just moved to Clearwater from St. Pete and my fiance and I needed to find a good Thai place and luckily for us Pattaya Thai is just down the street. The pork potstickers and spring rolls are fantastic, as well as the curry (just don't do medium or above if you can't stand the heat). Also, the garlic/ginger/thai basil entrees are just fantastic. Would recommend everything else but I can't stop eating what I've listed here! It can be casual or intimate depending on when you go and where you're sitting. Some of the booths in the corner are better if you're on a date, but the tables in the middle of the room are better if it's just a casual thing with a bunch of people. Either way, yum yum yum!

As an avid Thai enthusiast I am always looking for an awesome place in every town I live in. This place was clean and had friendly staff. The food was rather bland and soupy. The pad Thai had little texture, was soupy and rather disappointing. Everyone at the table felt the same. My husband had basil duck and uncle had basil seafood. Both agreed it was disappointing compared to others. I'm guessing if you have never had 5 star Thai you wouldn't know the difference.

This is the perfect place for a speedy dinner but with quality. I got sushi and it was delicious. The waitress was nice and was prompt to refilling drinks as soon as you finish your glass.

I was expecting better. Had the Tom Yum shrimp. The broth was good but the shrimp tasted off. Then had the mussels. I wonder I'd the mussels were previously frozen because they were really tough and only on the half shell. The curry duck didn't have enough curry sauce. I, use to it coming out in a bowl with lots of sauce. The pineapples tasted weird.

I have now been here on 2 separate occasions. The first was a dine in experience with a friend of mine, we wanted to try a new place and decided to check it out. Outside, it's just a small place in a strip plaza and you can miss it if you blink driving by. Inside, the decor is very nice and cozy and has some neat thai decorations. There is a large table down the middle to accommodate larger groups as well as booths along the walls. The first time we went the service was very slow, so be patient when coming here to dine in. I normally I always order pad thai or peanut sauce chicken when I go out for thai, but this time I decided to be "adventurous" and try a curry dish. It was ok, not my favorite, but they did make a good dish, it just isn't my favorite type of dish. I should have stuck with one of my usuals. My friend ordered a curry as well and liked it. The portion sizes here are very large. One meal is enough for one very hungry person or two meals for an average serving size. On my second visit, I was tired and hungry after a long day and decided to call in an order for take out since it was convenient and tasty. I called 10 minutes ahead and it was ready when I arrived. I got the peanut chicken with carrots and broccoli and a side of white rice. All was very tasty and plenty of food for the money. Most dishes range between $10-$15 . They did a good job thoroughly wrapping up the boxes so there was no thai food leaking out of the bag incidents on the way home. Thumbs up for that. I like this place and would go here again to try sushi.

No stars! Pad thai was tasteless and pattaya noodles tasted like a cheap knock off on lousy Chinese noodles. All the yummy flavors i crave when visiting a thai restaurant were nonexistent in the dishes. How hard is it to screw up the most famous Thai dish- pad thai?! Well, this place definitely did. I ate there last week and I'm still mad! Lousy service as well- the place was full and the servers ignored us for about 10 min b4 coming over to say that they r full- didn't let us know there's a bench that we could wait on at the other side of the restaurant, didn't offer a menu to look at, didnt know how long it would be, etc. Needles to say, definately not coming back!

I got two vegetable sushi rolls and miso soup. I know, how boring am I? It was still a nice lunch and the inside was nice and cozy. There is a ton of variety on the menu and I plan on going back to try a few things from the Thai menu.

I stopped in here based on the recommendations of others on Yelp, as well as its extremely close proximity to my home. The servers were nice, and very attentive. I'm not adventuresome when it comes to Thai food, so I had the expected Pad Thai, with Jasmine tea, and I have to say it was very good. I'd give it 5 stars but since I've only had one item on the menu, I gotta go back again and try something different to rate again...which I plan on doing :)

Great lunch spot! Inexpensive and fast. If you are in the area and want to break your regular lunch routine, or start a new one, this is the place. It's typical Thai food done well. I love the red curry. I can't say I've ever had anything that wasn't good. If you're wondering if you should give this place a chance the answer is yes.

We go here often we really enjoy the food. Just be careful when you ask for spicy. We go here so often they know our order when we walk in the door. Service has always been great. Food is awesome.

I love the basil duck and red curry. The pad thai is a little bland but still good. Dang that duck is good lol.

Great food, great service! We had tofu yellow curry, salmon green curry and chicken fried rice. The curries were excellent, light despite the coconut milk. The waitress was great, very knowledgeable.

I have gone to this restaurant for years and it is still just as good as it ever was! The food is flavorful, the service is great! I have tried about 12 different items on the menu from noodle dishes to rice dishes, spicy and not and no matter what, this place has served up a Thai meal that I havent been able to beat! The servers are great at making recommendations and they are very in tune to the spicyness of their dishes. They really care about you having a great dining experience. If you would like a great companion to a great meal, give the Thai tea a try.......its delicious!

I'm sorry for being harsh, but the food doesn't taste like Thai at all. I ordered a Beef Namtok, it was not sour enough and had to order extra lime to squeeze on it. Soup was plain. Pad Thai not flavorful at all - no taste of peanut sauce; salty but not sweet. I'm from DC & Los Angeles where ethnic food are everywhere and developed a high expectancy for good food. The only nice thing at this restaurant is that service was pleasant and excellent. Casual eating place where guess can speak loudly.

Been coming here for years. Don't let strip mall location fool you. Always good, always super fresh veggy's. Great pad Thai, yummy green curry, one of the best yum nua salads, red curry & prig king also great. Super nice service.... For those of you tourists-- good location coming from TPA as you head west to the beaches. Now closed on Sundays. This is our Go-to Thai place.

Maybe I am spoiled by living in Denver, where we seem to be blessed with some great Asian food. I read the other reviews for Pattaya and was intrigued, but after having dined there, I am a bit underwhelmed. The Thai iced tea was decent, but nothing special. There was a sharp black tea flavor, but the cream balanced it well enough. The Tom Ka Gai soup was a bit off, really lacking in its signature coconut flavor and substance. Not much for solids in it, mostly broth, much more than I am used to. Pad Prik Khing was good, with reasonably fresh green beans, peppers, scallions and the chicken was flavorful, but nothing exceptional here. Service wise, great, and the restaurant was clean, decorated well. They also have sushi, but with very few (only one that comes to mind) exceptions, I will not eat sushi in any restaurant but Japanese. It was a decent meal, but I doubt I'll be back.

I'm not really a fan of Thai cuisine, but a local relative treated me to dinner here when I was passing through. The food was sticky and glutinous; perhaps this is how it is supposed to be, though it did taste nice. Service was good, though, and the atmosphere was nice.

We found this delightful gem of a place en route to Subway actually. We were just going to get some sandwiches for the beach, and I spotted a cute little Thai place in the same shopping center. We were promptly greeted, and seated. There is a sushi bar also, but I don't eat that, so we ordered off the regular menu. Basically you have your choice of meats (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, etc) and sauces with various things in them. I had the shrimp in yellow curry which was fabulous! But I'm getting ahead of myself! We washed our hands, and before we were even done with that, SPRING ROLLS! and a great plum dipping sauce. I ordered for Adil, and I told her not too spicy for his. The waitress offered to have it cooked unseasoned and bring a spice tray. What service! She also informed me that I had ordered an Indian curry, which I knew, but it was nice to be informed. So yeah, our food was FABULOUS, the service was stellar, and the price was reasonable. It was also very quick, so we had plenty of time for the beach. We will definitely be back next time we're in the Gulf area!

I have been going to Pattaya Thai for several years and still find it to be the most consistently good Thai food in this area. The tom kyai soup is excellent, the dishes all very good. Price is reasonable, service fast, friendly and efficient, clean but not fancy still a good place for lunch or dinner.

Great no frills Thai. The food is great, service is acceptable and atmosphere is alright. But I go for the food and enjoy it thoroughly. Definitely worth checking out.
