Fresh, great service, great food, big selection. Price was a little high at 15 dollars on a Saturday for food and a drink.

If you want a bang for your buck and want asian, chinese, sushi, etc....go here. Could not believe it was so cheap and good. All you can eat! The sushi was super fresh, all you can eat Alaskan Crab Legs, lots of Chinese dishes....the shrimp were very good. I am fussy....and this place passed the test. We went around 9:30 at night and it was clear that they were trying to wind the evening down....there were many serving trays empty or low on food (but the mgr said if there anything we wanted....they would make special for us). Will be back for sure....but I bet we will like it even more if we get there early in the evening when the food had just been put out.

It's the best Chinese American buffet in the bay easily. Fast service and the food comes out regularly, fresh, and tasty.

Not impressed at all. I've been to many Chinese buffets in many different states. Two stars only because they have a large selection.

Have eaten here dozens of times for lunch and never had a bad meal...its my 1st choice to eat here when i'm in the area...peanut chichen and the big chicken wings are is the best here...the poster that said that the service is bad must have been thinking of another place..after all it is a buffet...maybe he thinks they are suppose to bring him the food to the table....don't know but they are always quick on picking up the used plates and filling up the drinks...check it out

When you walk in, right away you smell delicious Chinese food. Their food is flavorful, the sushi is fresh and the service is great, maybe a little slow. Get great deals for good food. Everything looks and tastes fresh, but there is nothing out of the ordinary that gives the restaurant a personality. A super buffet it is, with a large amount of choices. In conclusion, it is not the best but pretty good.

Absolutely delicious. Service isn't the greatest, but I love the place.

Not the friendliest staff in the world. Also, if your plate is mostly empty and you're not actively using any utensils on the plate, they will take your plate without asking right from under your nose. The buffet is one of the best I've ever been to. The sushi was good quality and there was a lot more to choose from than most buffets have. There was also a hibachi bar and a self scoop ice cream station with 8 flavors. The rest of the buffet had a great selection of fruit, typical Chinese buffet items, pizza, chicken, fries, fried shrimp, etc. Just a great selection!

First let me say, if you like Manhattan so much take your ass back. Your arrogance is worse than this places food. Very over priced buffet, food was bland, rubbery, stale tasting and lukewarm at best. Wait staff and hostess were unfriendly. I hate to say this but even Panda Express is better. Steer clear if this place.

My husband and I love this place. For almost 12 years we drive from Brandon just for the peanut chicken. We have tried others but no one does peanut chicken better! Not to mention we have never had a bad experience & that is rare, a plus in itself. The renovations are awesome. ..hibachi & sushi how can you go wrong. There's something for everyone.

Best Buffet I have ever been to! I wasbusing the mobile ap but it wouldn't let me make a review from it... anyways this place was delicious, fresh, and very relaxed with an atmosphere that encourages a good conversation. The staff were welcoming and had bright smiles met us upon arrival. I had the fried baha and the salmon both were fresh and delicious! Peanut butter chicken (my fave) was savory without being overwhelming. The fried rice was fresh, as was the cheese and spinach which was yummy! The ice cream tasted so good, like mom and pop joint good, not the frozen food section of costco section good lol. Will defintely come back next time in Clearwater!

My rating means: 5 = great/perfect, 1 = poor, 0 = would recommend to my enemies Food has good quality within a price range: 5 Portions/plating are appropriate to the concept and the price point: 5 Atmosphere / Ambiance: 3 Speed of service: 5 - Self-service :-) Accuracy of orders: 5 - Self-service :-) Food presentation: 4 Taste of food: 4 Quality of food / freshness: 5 Price range: 5 Focus on a specific style or cuisine: Asian Speed / accuracy of guest payment: 5 Noise level / music: 4 Decor and furnishings: 4 - enhance the experience Alcoholic beverages: available Outdoor area clean and safe: 5 Indoor area clean and safe: 4 Restroom: 4 Location: 5 Parking space availability: 5 Accept credit cards: yes Hello and goodbye: I was acknowledged with a greeting but not with a farewell - once they get your money they forget about you. Minus one star. Does restaurant meets its own expectations: 5 Bottom line: No major screw ups, but nothing amazing, either. I had: I've tried almost everything. Broccoli beef was very good - juicy and soft; mushroom was delicious. Crab meat is actually crab meat imitation. Boiled shrimp was awful. Mongolian beef was good. Very limited sushi option. Too much dough on everything. All in all, this place worth the money, but don't expect GREAT food. DISCLAIMER: I have always tried to measure a restaurant by what it is attempting to be. I give McDonald's five stars because I know what to expect and they almost always deliver. I also ground my opinion on the "experience".

Although we have been here a few times before, the quality of food, especially the suishi, has really taken a turn for the worse. There is almost no variety or imagination in the suishi selection and the few pieces I did eat were definitely not at the temperature you want them to be. The hot item selection is kind of all over the place, with mostly Americanized selections. Everything is loaded with really heavy sauce and seemed overcooked. They are really lacking in the vibrant, fresh ingredient area on basically everything. Some bright spots were the soups, the pork dumpling dim sum, and lo mein which were pretty good. They also have a hibachi cook making dishes to order, but there is an extremely limited amount of ingredients for him to work with.

Really wanted a buffet so I checked reviews in this area and this one had the most so I went. Well I guess if your into Chinese buffets maybe this will work for you my bf said it was good but I'm a picky eater and they didn't have anything I liked like other Chinese buffets. And I felt like all the trays were empty and they didn't fill them up. I would never to back. It was clean and the people were like your usual Chinese buffet they don't say much pick your plate up and go I'm fine with that. Selection sucked though. Stuff looked dry :( I was sad

So I'm writing this review when I should already be sound asleep. Let's look at this is a positive way- instead of sleeping, I'm choosing to contribute to Yelp. No? Oh well. Here's my review anyway! After having visited Chopsticks the weekend prior, we questioned each other (Justin and I) why we hadn't visited this much closer buffet as of yet. So we did just that. I think the two must be owned by the same people. This is a slightly smaller, darker, older version of Chopsticks. The price is the same. The variety is just as good, just doesn't appear to have as many tray islands out. It has the same furniture as Chopsticks- we thought that was kind of cute. We'd probably end up going to this buffet more often due to the closer proximity. It is clean, quality is good for a buffet, and the price can't be beat.

We came for a Sunday night buffet. For 12.99 I had just a few basic expectations for food quality, and those expectations were not met. Pros - Attractive restaurant with multiple water features - Friendly service - Hibachi grill Cons - Poorly rotated food - Meatballs that were stiff and hard to chew - Sushi that was actually DRY on top - Spinach that clumped together in a hard wad We will not be coming back here.

My fiancé and I love this place and we drive from Feather Sound area just to eat here. I agree w other reviewers that the staff isn't the friendliest or most attentive, but honestly, who cares?! Walking into that place and being overcome by a fully stocked buffet, sushi bar and hibachi grill makes the fact that their customer service sucks, not matter. I will gladly get out of my seat to track down any server to get a refill. (They learn after a while that if another server has to take care of your requests, it affects their tip). Their sushi is good, the kitchen staff that restocks the buffet are clean and respectful of traffic coming through the area, hibachi staff is always at their station and ready to serve, and their selection is great! The dinner price is a bit high, but, they compensate by having a koi pond upon entering the restaurant. I love this place and will continue to be a returning customer.

This was my 3rd time here. I usually go for lunch when I visit moms but this time I treated 4 people including myself for dinner. This place can't get more than 3 stars. Overall, the food is good depending on what you like to eat. The main problem is it's not hot. My second plate was a bit hotter but If we're gonna be paying extra money for dinner, be courteous enough to give us hot rather than warm food. Stay away from the sushi bar! They make terrible sushi . They also need to control the handling of their sushi. People are using tongs for the cooked sushi to pick up raw sushi. Totally unsanitary. I was happier eating publix sushi. Atleast theirs taste better than this place. I didn't try desert but my boyfriend said he didn't care for his. My mom said her ribs were underdone. But she loved her soup. Noodles were nasty. Crabs legs isn't included for dinner, you have to pay an extra 3.99 a pound. Pathetic Overall, I rate the food a 3/5 Service gets 2 stars because the waitresses suck and really acted like they didn't wanna be there. Took them forever to get my plate. I left no tip... I will come back of course, but only for lunch. I spent way too much to not have an A+ dinner..

Soooo its been awhile since I went to this establishment. I remember why now. When we first started dining here the staff was upbeat, the food fresh, and the atmosphere superb. For the third time in a row we went on what should have been a busy night in hopes that the food would be fresh. Not the case. The lamps are either not at the right temperature or the food just isnt refreshed often. Even the Habachi Bar was uninviting. The staff...ehhh. Well I try to be sensitive to language barriers but lets be honest, its a buffet. You take a drink order and refill it when you hear the slurping sound. They all stood in a corner and watched us...with their judging eyes. Yep, im American. Im wastefull and I eat too much. Alas, I will keep negative comments to a minimum because I am a positive person but as we were leaving did I really see them hang a banner that read, Voted #1 in the Tampa Bay Area??? Go to Chopsticks. They may not have coconut shrimp but the food is hott and the drinks are full!

  • Tamika T.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I'd read the reviews on this, and had no inclination to ever visit this buffet. However my boyfriend picked dinner and this is what he wanted. I was skeptical driving there, but the food was actually tasty. They had a very large selection and everything I had tasted fresh and hot and I noticed they were always quick to refill the empty trays. The only thing I was skeptical of was their seafood stations. They didn't look appealing so I passed. Other than that, I had no complaints.

It's getting late 645pm. (Late for me and my son) and I have many errands and don't have time for lengthy dinner. Decided to give this place a second chance since the first experience the food was pretty bad representation of commercialized Chinese. The place is very nicely decorated and clean, better than most buffets. Unfortunately the food looks and taste like it has been out for a while, and even the most standard of dishes are very poorly made most bland. Bourbon chicken, chicken and broccoli, clams, won ton soup, hot and sour is salty? The selection is far less than it appears. The people are nice and the place looks great but food is even worse than before. Very sad...I wish the best to this place.

Yeah, can't recommend this place. The food was OK until I had a baby cockroach in my wonton soup. That ruined everything and made me really contemplate everything I had just consumed. The staff and manager didn't seem to bothered by this. They didn't even remove the soup pot after observing the roach in my cup. Won't be back.

Generally good food as a buffet place. The choice could be more and the servers are just too busy to talk.

Everytime I drive down the road and pass by this place, I wave 'adios' and keep driving. I will never be stopping in here again! I went one time as part of my family's tradition to go out for Chinese food on New Year's Eve. This place is B-A-D. Typical Chinese food buffet, fried chicken bits disguised in different "asian" sauce flavors, greasy, low quality beef, sad looking steamed "veggies". Questionable sushi that i would not eat even if someone paid me too. Mediocre service. The real thing that drove me away forever was the lovely critter I saw crawling on the wall the one time I came here. No, I am not making it up, the cleanliness level is that bad. I know they have renovated in the recent past, but it's still not enough to get me in this place. I guess some people might like it because it's cheap and you can eat alot for the money, but i'd honestly rather go about anywhere else for Chinese besides here. Heck, I'll just stick with my Vietnamese food!

We really liked this place and are very happy to have finally discovered a good asain buffet close to us! It was very clean and the food was delicious (especially the sushi- wow!). The price at $12 is more than reasonable. We will be back!

Food quality and service was much above that of the typical Chinese buffet, even though the price was not that much higher. Large selection and everything looked fresh and was served from steam tables that were kept clean and full at all times. The same goes for the sushi bar and hibachi section along the back wall. The restrooms were pretty immaculate, and the rocky decor was so unique that I actually took a picture of it, as I did the artwork on the wall, and the one-of-a-kind crystal chandeliers, which looked like flying saucers. I've been to several buffets in Clearwater and this one was by far my favorite of all. I stayed in the area for almost a month, and I must have gone back to this place at least three times. Heck, I'd recommend going there just for the way the place looks. You can't beat the location either since it is one of the first restaurants you see as you come off the Causeway from Tampa. I'm heading back there again in a couple of weeks and you can bet that will be the first place I go to eat at.

Let's just say I wish I could rate this with no stars!!!!!!!! Horrible customer service, food was nothing special, and I had to change my drink 4x because it had a funky taste in it every time! This is a wast of money in my opinion and would never recommend anyone to eat here.

  • Artiom T.

I was scared by the previous reviews, but decided to give it a try. Didn't regret going there. For 12$ you get a normal variety of classic chinese food. It's not top notch buffet, but it's okay if you have a temporary craving for Chinese.

For there to be this large a sushi selection available at a buffet in Clearwater, I have to give it 4 stars, even if everything was mediocre. This place is really clean and there is a whole bar of sushi selection. Unfortunately, a lot of the sushi has imitation crab meat in it. I grabbed one of every type, but by the end I was really sick of krab. The salmon and cream cheese could have done with less cream cheese. However, there is enough of a selection of sushi that I'm not complaining...that much :) After eating the large array of sushi I was pretty full. However, I did try some of the hot food. They have a lot of different types of chicken and generally it is all pretty good. I enjoyed the chicken and broccoli. I did not like the cheese and spinach and cheese and krab. I guess to each his/her own. There is enough of a selection that you can avoid the food you don't like if you keep going back. My fiance absolutely loved this place. (Disclaimer: he is white and from West Virginia so his opinion on Asian buffets should be taken with a grain of salt. However, he probably has similar tastes to most others in Florida). He raved it should get 5 stars and devoured the Mongolian Beef and almost every type of chicken. He definitely wants to go back. The selection of dessert is fine, but nothing great. I would suggest staying away from it and sticking with fruit.

Clean and non-typical buffet restaurant decor. Attentive servers get you a refill before your glass is empty. Food wise, the fried rice was tasty, the general Tso's chicken was my fave item, it actually had some spice kick. The batter fried items are typical and common. The sushi is very bland, tried five different types and only one tasted different from the rest. Very spacious and the food trays are kept warm & replenished. Would give 2 1/2 stars but definitely not above that.

Best Chinese food ever. Always fresh. Reasonable price. Owner very nice. Great service!!!

  • Paul C.

Not so much really . . . the decor is very nice and bright and well done but I'm not eating the decor. The food may best be described as hit and miss but the misses just kept adding up. At the point at which I'm spitting food out into my napkin I'm pretty much done. I might consider adding another star for lunch when it's cheaper but seriously there are a bunch of restaurants in this area go elsewhere.

  • Tiffany E.

Left here unsatisfied. Only decent part was they had veg sushi, and fried tempura veggies. However the tempura veggies were rubbery and not crispy or fresh. Food overall was not very fresh or hot. Chinese doughnuts looked like chicken nuggets and were not tasty at all(one of my fav items normally) Even the veg egg rolls were boring, pretty sure they were just cabbage filled. Never going here again. I am guessing because we got here after the dinner rush around 7pm, that we were getting the dinner leftovers?

The McDonalds of Chinese food! If you want cheap, MSG laden abundance then this is perfect. If you desire the taste of true Chinese food then you are being tricked at best. This is in no way to be called good culinary Chinese food. Want proof... Just look at how many asians are there when you go in. Asan's know good Chinese and they don't eat there. When you walk into a chinese restaurant and you are the only white person there... Then you are in a Chinese restaurant. This restaurant serves a cheap "americanized" version of Chinese dishes. Oh btw, the Fortune cookie is not Chinese. In Hong Kong restaurants, fruits are served after the meal. That cookie does not exist in Hong Kong, there is no such thing.

    (1)
  • Pyra-Danny V.

This is a VERY typical Chinese buffet- which means don't go in expecting the same quality home-cooking you'd get if you decided to unexpectedly walk into a native family's home dinner in Beijing. You've been warned. FOOD With the above warning, there is a great selection of food. Most lean towards what you can get from Chinese take-outs (except all-you-can eat for a flat fee of course). And the cheap-o plastic puff pastries, jello, and sliced fruits for dessert. There's a few "American" offerings like fries, pizza, and salad. If you're craving simple, "Americanized" sushi, there's about 20 choices to grab from as well as a small hibachi grill. SERVICE Ah--THIS part is like every good Asian restaurant--very serious servers who barely smile yet are very brisk and business-like in getting the job done. AMBIANCE Very niiiiice. Nicely dim--plus the neon lights above and dark walls could almost create a romantic setting... except the feel is totally casual and chatty. Nothing is WOW or overly home-tasting (or fresh) but if you have a craving for Chinese take-out, are hungry, with limited cash--this is a good choice in the area.

I've been going here for awhile because of the parents and I must say it's just like any other Chinese buffet. It was probably better than the worse because we would always return or is it because its the only one in the area? Hmmm! Well I use to go for lunch when I was taking classes at SPC and it was super cheat for the lunch hour buffet. The food was pretty good since it was fresh and doesn't sit there for awhile (for a fact) because this place was always super busy. Lunch and dinner hours are packed so if you will, Come during those packed hours for fresher food! After the whole renovation I must say this place looks amazing. It's dim lit and is really clean now. The food is very similar to other Chinese buffets but what else do you want? Reason you're going to a Chinese buffet is to get the typical "Chinese buffet" food. The food is pretty good. When I don't have time to dine in I would go get some take out and they charge per the lb. I probably save more sitting down and eat but they do serve some pretty good food that I rather eat than other Take Out Chinese places. You can also pick what you want and how much you want to buy.

Very ordinary. Not too tasty. Lots of variety, so if you are not fussy and you want to fill your belly, this is a good place. The waitstaff was unfriendly but efficient. I am used to much better and hope my quest for a good oriental buffet, like the ones I am used to on the east coast of Florida pays off. Right now, all I have to say is don't waste your money.

  • John P.

Interesting concept, but the food is just not appealing. Bland and tasteless. Although it is all you can eat, I really had no desire to even finish the food on my plate the first pass through. The decor is kind of nice. Service is correct but not really friendly. I had to go up to the cashier and ask for an explanation of how the place worked. They seemed surprised that I just didn't get intuitively what was included in "all you can eat." (Answer: everything except for beverages. There is a scale at the front; if you order for takeout, apparently you are charged by the pound.) I chose this restaurant hoping for vegetarian options. There are virtually none except for shrimp (which I don't care for.) No desire to go back.

Pass this one by..really..first hints it might not be great..a kitty cheap curtain going into the kitchen, mashed potatoes, mc donalds like apple pie do NOT belong on a chinese buffet!! Go to the chinese buffet in Countryside instead..its better, not great but better. This place was overpriced, food was mostly cold or old looking/tasting and i'm not an overly picky eater btw..really was "blah"..we won't go back..even the cream puffs tasted stale. Meh...

  • Nil L.

It's not bad at all! Its not 5 star but you can't expect it when u are paying $28 for 2 adults and 2 kids.. It's clean and very good service.. It's just like any other Chinese buffet.. I would definitely go back! Especially it's the only one around the area; I will definitely go back..:)

Decent food that is usually fairly fresh. When we first went there after the remodel, they had tempura vegetables (broccoli, carrots, potatoes) on the buffet. These became an instant favorite - I had never seen tempura vegetables in any other Chinese buffet. Unfortunately, they haven't had any the last four or five times we've gone. I do like that they have bean sprouts in the Mangolian grill area. They have a decent sushi selection, including shrimp nigiri. The price does seem fairly high for what is offered - for the same price, you can go to another buffet in town that serves crab legs and crawfish. However, not having to wait for more crab to be brought out, only to have the single person in front of you take the entire selection, can be a plus. The deserts are okay. Standard buffet fare - why do none of the buffets actually make traditional Chinese desserts? Except for the fresh fruit, everything comes premade!

  • Eric A.

If I was reviewing based on decor alone I would give this place 5 stars as it is by far the nicest looking Chinese buffet I have ever been to. Now if they could just invest money in better recipes or cooks they would have a winner. Yes they have a wide selection of food options but quantity doesn't equal quality. The sushi selection is also very large but all the sushi was very warm so it wasn't very appetizing. Will continue searching for that awesome buffet that doesn't exist.

This place must have gone under some sort of renovation because we had a 20% grand re-opening discount on our bill! Ambience: The first thing we noticed when we walked into the restaurant was the cool yellow glowing lights around the buffet tables. Look up and you'll see a wavy ceiling with blue neon lights. Very fancy contemporary decor for a chinese buffet. Five stars. Food: The food was just as you'd expect from any chinese buffet. It is very similar to that of Country Super Buffet and Golden Wok in Largo. Plenty of choices but nothing spectalular. They've got sushi and a hibachi grill in addition to the regular chinese food. Three and a half stars. Service: No complaints here. It's a buffet so you can't expect too much interaction with the staff. We were seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. Our dirty plates were cleared by the time we got back to the table. We got our check promptly at the end of dessert. Four and a half stars. Conclusion: This place gets four stars from me. Great ambience and decent all-you-can-eat chinese food at a fair price!

I hadn't eaten at the Oriental Super Buffet in almost 17 years until last Friday. After eating there, I remember why I never went back. You enter into a foyer that has a beautiful fish pond and then into the restaurant which has a nice clean interior. The host was prompt and polite in seating me and the waitress was quick to bring drinks. It was all downhill after that. One doesn't expect great chinese food at a buffet but the food here was horrible. It SUCKED. Most of the food selections I tried were dry and tastless. The sushi was the worst I've ever had; you can buy better sushi at Publix than here. This was the worst meal I've had since eating at Portofino Italian Ristorante in St. Petersburg. I would never recommend Oriental Super Buffet to anyone. I prefer using a scale of 1-100 with 100 being the best. This place gets 20 only because of it's interior, with the exception of the men's bathroom which was so dimly lit you couldn't use the toilet if you had to.

Hubby and I moved here about 2 mths ago from Seattle Area...where Asian Restaurants are plentiful and good. There seems to be a lot of Thai places in the area, but I'm not a Thai fan...it tends to be too hot for me. We decided to try this one after reading reviews of Country Super Buffet (which is actually closer to our house) because this one seemed like it would be okay. OK is about all I can say that is positive. we arrived about 6 on a Sunday evening. The majority of the customers looked like the kind who frequent buffets, the "all you can eat" type. I also noticed that kids under 12 and 5' tall eat free. We should have left when we saw no Asians eating there. So where do they eat? Anything that was fried was tough and had an odd taste...old oil perhaps? All of the diced chicken dishes were also tough and the meat flavorless. My husband had a few pieces of sushi - tuna and salmon which he said was fine. The boiled shrimp was okay also. Their idea of seasoning seems to consist of putting lots of partially cooked onion in everything. If you're like me and don't care for onion in things, it was hard to pick out! Best part of meal was the ice cream and cookies. Although the fact that customers are allowed to lean over the freezer and scoop their own ice cream out of the buckets seems to be risky and unsanitary. Won't go back, but will continue our search for a quality Asian restaurant.

Update: 12/20/11 Previous sushi disappointment now resolved. Felt much better finding each piece quite cold, as room temp sushi doesn't inspire confidence. Lots of sushi choices, all very flavorful, now food scores a 5 on a buffet scale. Update: 10/10/11 Stopped by Oriental Super Buffet today for lunch. As another reviewer has written, OSB has undergone a huge renovation. There literally isn't a single surface in the entire restaurant that hasn't been upgraded substantially, from the ceiling/walls/floors/tables to the serving tables, a new sushi bar and hibachi grill. Even the entrance to the restaurant has been upgraded with a substantial exterior porch & woodwork and interior entrance with a huge rock waterfall flowing into a pond that has steam rising out of it. Overall the tasteful, contemporary design with historical/cultural Chinese references creates an atmosphere that's a large step above the old building and most Chinese buffets I've ever been to. As for the food, what used to be small section of a serving table of sushi choices is now a display about 30' long with 20 different items, all prepared by a full-time sushi chef that closely monitors the appearance and cleanliness. I sampled about 8 different sushi, and found about half of them good, but not great, the others average. And a good part of the reason for that was for some reason the trays of sushi, even though they sat on abundant heaps of ice, didn't keep them as cool as I like, nor as I recall they used to be. I seem to recall before they placed the sushi on on a type of china or hard white platters what would get very cold on the ice, and now I think they're on plastic trays which just get cool instead of cold. At least that's my theory. As much as I wanted to get excited about such a varied selection, it was the only disappointment of the meal. The hibachi grill was manned full-time and was very busy with orders being served up quickly. The buffet now includes fresh mussels and clams, both a nice addition the holdover of mountains of boiled peel & eat shrimp on beds of ice that I could never and still can't resist.. OSB's previous quality/quantity of fish/seafood dishes always attracted me, and the selection is better than ever. All of the old standard dishes seem to be on the line, along with a few additions, one of which was Mongolian beef that I found mildly spicy and very flavorful...probably my favorite. Other bright spots were black pepper shrimp and a crab dish that had huge chunks of crab under a layer of melted cheese. Very good. There are adequate salad and desert bars, along with a fruit bar that had large quantities of fresh kiwi that were absolutely delicious., When we didn't see the smiling owner who was always there in greeting us by name I found it a little odd. I ended up chatting with another diner who said he had passed away, and the new owner decided to immediately renovate before taking over. The new owner was a commanding presence in the way he monitored the status and cleanliness of the serving tables and attention the wait staff gave us. More than once I saw him call one of the staff working the serving tables to thoroughly clean their counters and refill steam trays of food. Under his gaze there was very little that escaped his attention, which gave me confidence about the food. The flavor and food quality is still there, and the prices are still good ($7.99 lunch/$11.99 dinner, and an additional 20% off promotion for the grand re-opening.). Even drinks are reasonably priced at $1.50. For the ~$6.50 price I paid or even $8 regularly, it's a great value. While I always loved the old OSB, it's apparent it's now in very capable hands that have set a high standard for quality and should maintain it. I've been to bigger Chinese buffets, but very few that have OSB's quality. The renovation upgrade bumps my score up a notch, and on my Pinellas Chinese buffet scale, OSB now gets 5's for atmosphere, service, and value, but the sushi disappointment dropped the food to a 4. 9/7/11 Best chinese buffet I've had in Clearwater area, and I've eaten here for years at all hours with family and friends, and brought staff here for private meals in the large side dining/meeting room that can be closed off. The food quality is always very good for a buffet, with a wide variety of dishes that are refreshed regularly. They have cold boiled shrimp, and some sushi choices (it's far from the best sushi I've ever had, but better than most buffet sushi I've tasted). Restaurant interior is very nice and clean, and service is consistently prompt and attentive. The restaurant is temporarily closed right now for upgrades (the sign outside says they're adding a hibachi grill), but should reopen very soon. Give 'em a call to make sure they're open. If you're in the mood for a chinese buffet, definitely check it out. My scores, based on a "buffet scale" are: Atmosphere: 4 Food: 4 Service: 4 Value: 5

Great. Since they remodels this place feels much more up scale than topical china .

My poor grandmother brought my mom, grandfather and I to this place because she had a buy 1 buffet, get 1 free coupon. Why do I say poor grandmother? Because she had no idea how horribly bad this place was going to be and how much we all would complain and make fun of it! The first thing we noticed entering the buffet were ridiculous signs posted everywhere saying they had the right to charge you for uneaten food and that if you wanted the "all you can eat crab legs" (which were just single unappetizing looking legs, not clusters, as part of the buffet) it was like an extra $6 or so. Not very inviting. The next thing that was evident was the poor service. We hardly got a greeting, were lead to our seats, and then left wondering if we could get up and start the buffet. Then came the worst Chinese food I (actually all of us) ever ever had! Oh, there were plenty of selections and quantities out, however everything that I sampled was so overcooked, dry, tough and tasteless that it was just embarrassing. The soup had oil sheens on top and did not taste how it was supposed to (just gross!) The ribs had just a crusty finish to the bone (no meat), the Hunan chicken you couldn't even stick your fork through it because it was so hard, the roast beef (you cut yourself with a weapon) was dry and tasteless... I could just go on and on. We couldn't stop laughing as we questioned each other, "oh, how is that?" and we would just push our plate aside with all the food left on it shaking our heads saying DISGUSTING. The only edible things were the "doughnuts", chicken and mushrooms, and I would say the sushi which I did have a few pieces of, however they weren't labeled and because of the poor quality of everything else in the buffet, I personally questioned how fresh it really was and did not go back for seconds. Since my mom also had some sushi, I guess it was the mussels in garlic sauce that made me spend an hour in the bathroom when we got home. So now it's the end of our meal, and thank goodness they did not charge us for "uneaten food" because that's all that was left on our plates. We bypassed the hard-looking pastries for dessert and was happy to find they had an ice-cream cooler. How can they mess up ice-cream in a carton, right? Oh, but they did! So gross, they had the ice-cream scoops in this NASTY container of brown water (seriously the vision of it now is tempting me to gag) and the ice-cream had this gross water apparently frozen on top of portions of it from people using those scoops. After our check was brought to us, I had asked for another refill on my drink (which each time I needed one, it took forever and a day to get) and they finally bring me out a half-full glass of my beverage with no ice in it! REALLY?!? They didn't even get the bill right using my grandmother's coupon, but my grandparents didn't care to argue the point, they just wanted to get out of the place. As we were leaving we asked each other, "so... on a scale of 1-10, what would you rate this place?" Each of us agreed on a NEGATIVE 10. It was just really that bad!!! P.S. For the life of me I can not comprehend why there are good reviews on this place. My visit took place in late September of this year. Is it possible that I entered some alternate dimension as I walked through "Oriental Super-bad Buffet"'s doors? I wouldn't risk going back to find out. Wish Yelp would let you rate a place 0 stars.

This was the best Chinese Buffet I've ever been to. Not the biggest, but the best. You cannot beat the price. I satisfied my cravings for Chinese food and sushi. They had fresh tasty sushi, soups, desserts, and cold cold beer. My wife and I had lunch for $16.00. Delicious.

It's good, it's relatively cheap, it's fast. I really enjoy their Mongolian Pork and their crab rangoon. Don't expect much from the decor - it's like tacky had a party in there. One host even wears a shiny suit.
