I had been by this place several times and even talk to some people as they came out on occasion; so this place was on my list to try. The atmosphere has a sheik elegance with ceiling to floor sheers separating the bar area from the rest of the dining area; along with, hard wood flooring, mixed with black chairs and tables to add complexity to the atmosphere. There is some outside seating. I ordered snapper special of the day and found it to be a very delightful choice. It was very simply prepared with a light salt and pepper accent that accompanied the delicate grilled fish very well. The sides were real mash potatoes (always a delight when you can find them) and a vegetable medley that included squash, zucchini, and mushroom. This was a very nice combination that balanced the flavors to maximize taste. The meal came with a salad that consisted of sliced rings of onion, cherry tomato and lettuce. Unfortunately, I was the only person in the dining area and I have to mention that it was the middle of the week. With that said, I did receive very good service and the intention of the staff and management through their actions; along with comments was to make this place very successful. Everything in my experience was "A-Ok" and the only improvement/disappointment was the salad not being more robust and creative. Based on my experience and conversations with the staff I believe the extreme star ratings in prior reviews are being considered and where necessary dealt with. I think the proof in the success in this place is time. Instead of giving a recommendation (positive or negative), I would suggest you try it yourself and add your opinion to the reviews.

Very nice restaurant. Family friendly & ample parking. I had seared mahi-mahi with an herb sauce over garlic mashed potatoes & seasonal vegetables..... It was delicious! Highly recommend the La Plage Martini!!!

We ate there twice. Don't waste your time. Had the ribeye , very fatty and flavorless. Good drinks but out of alot of choices. I will not return again. Much better choices in the area.

Our dining experience was pretty much one blunder after another. It was so bad, we actually just enjoyed the comedy of it all. The place was empty at 7pm. I'm guessing this was not a fluke. Visually, the place looks very nice - Interesting artwork. We were seated along the wall that borders the outdoor dining. There was an issue with the door. Every time our waiter went through it, there was a startling bang, and the wall and our table shook. Our table was wobbly anyway; I was able to fix by sticking several napkins under the leg. Our waiter was kind of 'spacey'. We had to ask for straws twice. We ordered the spin dip (which was pretty bland.) He forgot and asked us again if we wanted to start out with an appetizer. I had to remind him we already ordered the spin dip. Then my mom orders a Bahama Mama. He comes back and asks what is in it. I look it up on my phone and show it to him. He then wants to take my phone to show the bartender. We decided to order another drink; he doesn't know what a Rum Runner is either. I asked, 'What do you know how to make?' He came back with something that was a waste of $6. We ordered our salads; I asked specifically if they had Ranch. He proceeded to list the dressings. We confirmed that we both wanted Ranch. He brought us both Italian. My salad was bitter; mostly the white core of a head of lettuce. So, this place advertises as a seafood restaurant with their top 3 entrees being Snapper, Grouper, and Mahi Mahi. My mom wanted Grouper. After a complicated discussion, the waiter confirmed there was no grouper and to just get the snapper; he said it was 'the same thing.' It was not. It was terrible; my mom couldn't eat it. I'm a vegetarian. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo. The waiter brought me linguine; said they were out of fettuccine. Fine, no problem, but it was very bland. I asked for some Cajun spice or something to give it flavor. Besides our waiter having some sort of A.D.H.D, he did seem to try to fix things. He brought me a package of some spice and left. I needed scissors; the butter knife was not working to open it. I managed to find a pen to pierce the package; the spice ended up being super salty. My food wasn't edible at this point. Good thing I was able to fill up on bread. It was pretty much a nightmare. I am thinking the staff should be drug tested; my guess is they all smoked marijuana prior to their shift.

I had the 32oz porterhouse and it had to be the best steak I've ever eaten. The wine, service, and entertainment topped off a great night. Thanks LaPlage, we will be back!
