I ordered delivery and was told 45 minutes. The food showed up in about 30. Everything was delicious and the driver and lady on the phone were very polite. I will be ordering from here again.

Pro's: food prepared very quickly and was organized when came to pick up. Cons: Wasn't thrilled with the food, the general tso's was flavorless. Getting in and out is a hassle due to the location on Ulmerton. Although I was not satisfied with the chicken, I would try again since it is the closest Chinese take out to where I live.

I didn't even want to give a star. my order is never right and they are extremely late with every delivery. Food is edible. That's about it

House of China is a hole in the wall buffet joint that offers cheap food, fast. The service is great and the people that work there are quite friendly and accommodating which makes it our go-to Chinese delivery place. That being said, I miss having some of the nicer sit-down establishments where you can get things like Peking Duck as opposed to the takeout stalwarts of General Tso's or Beef and Broccoli. As a side note, the buffet is for lunch only.

This obscure Chinese restaurant is located right off of Ulmerton. If you aren't prepared, you may miss the entrance. The aesthetics are just one notch above a hole in the wall. The food is ok.The service is quick and friendly. There is nothing exceptional on the menu though. You will find your standard takeout type fare such as General Tso's chicken, Egg Foo Young, and Chow Mein. We like to order take out from here when we are too lazy to cook. It is fast, convenient, and good enough for a weekday dinner when all you want to do is feed the kids and send them to bed so you can crack open a bottle of wine and forget the day.

Fast, cheap and decent enough. I like the fried wontons on the buffet and the black pepper chicken is pretty killer. The egg drop soup is also above par, but most of the other dishes are lacking. Some of the items look like they have been sitting out awhile, even when they just opened. Still, overall better than some others in the area. Also, I noticed on a couple visits that Metal music is playing throughout the restaurant. Not a big deal to me, but I can foresee some guests not appreciating it.

About as good as any Chinese American buffet can get and probably better than many. At first I was prepared to be offended because there was only fried rice on the buffet. The secret is you have to ask for it then they bring you a bowl of steamed white rice. On second thought that's probably better than leaving it on the buffet to dry out. They have all the "Chinese" standards like General Tso's chicken, mostly dough and cabbage eggrolls. Was surprised by the black pepper chicken. Exceptional. Downside, there's decent variety but it's almost all chicken. Only one beef dish and a shrimp thing that sounded good but wasn't refilled while I was there. Overall a decent, cheap meal if you're in the area but not crave worthy.

Won't be ordering from here again have been waiting 40mins for my call-in pick up order! I was quoted 15 mins! Also I originally wanted delivery but they said it would be over an hour for delivery to come pick up and it would be ready in 15! Ridiculous!

Foods mediocre, relatively cheap. Got the sweet and sour pork combination during the evening while the buffet was closed. Service is ridiculously slow, maybe it's too much to ask for a refill for my drink or non overdone food. Atmosphere is ok, restaurant is basically dead at 8:30 pm on a Wednesday.

So gross. I had this food delivered to my hotel & all of the 5 dishes we ordered not only smelled "off" but tasted absolutely disgusting. Yuck.

I have tried every other Chinese restaurants in the vicinity of my work, and House of China is the best. Often the best stuff comes from hole in the wall places. They have a good selection to choose from off the menu and also a nice big buffet if you have more time for lunch. If you choose a shrimp dish, enjoy the very JUMBO shrimp they give you!

Considering the two Chinese buffets in my neighborhood, you'd think I'd have been more open to House of China, considering its a hole in the wall. The exterior is easy to miss. As you walk in you enter a room with two steam tables, a sushi/fruit/dessert table in a corner and the ice cream freezer. It might not look like much, but the flavor is far better than the two closer to me, and the selection is diverse. There are a number of chicken dishes including honey garlic (surprisingly great), bourbon, kung po, and a few more. Fish dishes include my coworkers favorite cheesy fish (fish, krab and shrimp covered in melted cheese. I don't know about the Chinese authenticity, but its good), salt & pepper shrimp (a must have), and crab rangoon. A few beef dishes only (like pepper steak), some HUGE spring rolls, egg rolls, and the usual rest. Again, you get a good mix of very well done flavors, which is why you get the interesting mix of blue and white collared workers on any given day. For those workers on a time constraint, you can get a togo box, and most fill that sucker to the brim. Worth it.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
