Love love love this place especially living in a place with tons of over priced Greek food, this little gem is now my go-to Greek spot. First off the food is really really good, the portions are awesome but you literally cannot beat the prices. Today I got, a gyro, chopped Greek salad, hummus and peta bread AND a cup of the lemon and orzo (w/chicken) soup, all for $14. How awesome is that? Service is always great and the decor is adorable. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. It's awesome!

I had never been here before but wanted a Greek Salad to go for my daughters' & my dinner that night. I went to order two regular size salads for $6.99 each & was asked if I wanted them chopped, but then I saw on the menu a large "Greek salad for two" for $13.99 (serves 4-6) & went to change to that, but there was a $2.00 fee to have it chopped! Seemed silly so I told her I'd just get my original two small. The server told me there wasn't a charge, so I ordered the large, and when she gave me the bill there was the $2.00 charge. When I spoke up she was nice about it and refunded it. Then after a while out came my salad. It was in a giant bowl and all seemed great. I took it to my car and looked at it. It had a wide line of chopped beets going across the top, a very light line of feta cheese, and that was it - No olives or pepprocinis (I had gotten the potato salad on the side). I poked around through the chopped lettuce to see if perhaps they were mixed in, but they were not. I took the salad back in & told the girl who had taken my order, she apologized and took the salad back into the kitchen. A few moments later it comes back out & once again I look at the salad in my car, they have only added TWO pepperocinis & THREE olives for a salad that serves 4-6 people. They did add another scoop of chopped beets too. Why? I have no idea. I like beets but this was ridiculous. Once I got home and took off the beets, added dressing, and mixed the salad, I also was able to notice that there were no onions. This was an okay, regular, tossed salad with lots of beets & tomatoes - but it was the WORST Greek salad we've ever had.

I thought I should try this little Greek cafe at least once. Living so close to Tarpon Springs, I can be a bit picky when choosing Greek food locally. Stopped in for lunch with some co-workers on a Wednesday afternoon. Place wasn't too busy and we were greeted immediately and choose a table. Going traditional, I ordered a small Greek salad and a Gyro. The rest of the party placed their orders and drinks arrived shortly after. According to one of my co-worker who frequents the cafe, the wait for lunch was longer then what is typical. The waiter brought some hummus and pita bread to try on the house to help make up for it. Our food finally arrived and I got a solid Gyro with a nice little Greek salad. Nothing overly amazing but the gyro meat was freshly sliced and the Greek salad of course had potato salad at the bottom. Overall it was a satisfying lunch. I'll save the gas money to Tarpon Springs and get a Gyro to go next time.

This place has used to have the freshest best salads in town but they started serving garbage instead of lettuce. The mgr actually told me that he doesn't buy romaine hearts anymore. He only buys the OUTER LEAVES!!!! GARBAGE.

This place is great! I haven't wrote a review in a while and this place inspired me to write one. Best Greek place in Tampa Bay Area that I've eaten at! The menu has exactly enough items on it. I have tried almost everything on it now. The categories include: Greek combo platters, gyros, salads and rice bowls. The apps are great too! Try their Greek feta chips , they are a standard every time I go. They also have a unique item, Greek quesadillas. They are delicious! They have mojo pork as an option for meat and it is perfectly spiced and tender! The rice bowls are amazing! And their salads (I get them chopped) are really special. Every time I go, there is at least one person coming to pick up a family size salad. Also, the owner and staff are very nice and helpful! The food is very affordable and so worth it. You will also likely have left overs :-)

My Husband and I eat at Famous Greek every weekend, it's delicious. He gets the same the every week - a gyro with feta, feta chips, and a cup of avgolemono soup - all fantastic. I like a bit of variety so my go-to was the pick 3 but we found out they no longer have that option :( I highly recommend the spanakopita, chopped greek salad, and hummus with pita - all are amazing. There is nothing on the menu I haven't liked and the staff are all exceptional - many of them go above and beyond to ensure you are happy with your experience. If I had to name one thing I dislike about the restaurant it would be that it is a bit pricey and during peak hours very busy. We find the pros outweigh the cons and will continue to visit Famous Greek every week!

This rating is based purely on the Greek salad and spanakopita. The spanakopita was fine but the Greek salad is another story. It's just not that good. I don't think they chop it up enough (it's still too chunky for all the flavors to meld together) and the potato salad is really dry and flavorless. They are light on the cucumbers, beets and other add in veggies. You can find a less famous but better Greek salad a stones throw away in the same plaza.

Really great food and service. We love the gyros and salads. The Feta chips are amazing. Mike is terrific and goes out of his way to take good care of his customers.

We were very impressed with quality, quantity, and price. Had the family meal for four, 2 gyro & 2 chicken and it all was outstanding. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the portions were beyond generous. The staff was also very helpful and friendly! We will definitely return here!

They have an amazing chicken souvlaki pita! The greek salad is pretty good and I've tried a few of their other sandwiches as well - all pretty good. The service is attentive and overall it's a pretty darn good mom and pop.

Was ok. Ordered a Chopped Greek Salad and Veggie Quesadilla, took the bag home and realized she gave me a Greek Chopped Salad and a Veggie Pita which is a completely different menu item and is cold instead of hot. Did not provide any utensils or napkins with the order...good thing I was eating at home. The salad was good but a bit garlicky though, not sure if it was chopped up in it or garlic oil in the dressing. The potato salad underneath had no flavor and had huge potato chunks unlike other greek salads I have had. The homemade Greek chips that came with the pita were great. They are covered with feta, tomatoes, scallions and greek seasoning. And the Veggie Pita was great. I would probably go back to try something different.

Only gave 2 stars because they get something wrong on every order.. Whether it's dine in or take out!! Especially take out!! Make sure you check your order before you leave!! They are so nice, and the food is awesome! But they always get something wrong..

Num, num, num! So I stopped by in the afternoon for a chicken suvlaki paired woth their hand cut fries. Wow. So fresh. So good. The souvlaki was delicately prepped with fresh tomatoes and the traditional ingredients. The taziki sauce was perfect. The fries where seasoned and fried to a perfect fluffy crisp. A great spot for lunch.

Casual dining, inside or out with great food! My daughter had ghetto Greek rice bowl - not plain white rice, but seasoned to perfection. I had chicken souvlaki with homemade potato salad and I get to have Mom's leftover Greek salad! Son in law had to get gyro quesadillas which he had last time. The owner was very friendly as well as the staff. Nice, clean and cheerful decor.

My family has eaten here many times and has always been great! What keeps bringing us back is simple - great food and really genuine, good people. The owner is awesome and so are the people who run it. If you're in the area, and what some Greek food worthy of being "famous," I recommend stopping by.

Great little Greek restaurant with a family atmosphere and friendly staff. Very small and casual yet quick with dine in or take out. When they realized it was my first time ever ordering takeout from their restaurant they immediately brought me out a small sample of their lemon orzo soup. They shared stories of their business and asked me about myself and made me feel like a valued customer and not just a number. The portions were very generous. The menu choices were varied. I highly recommend them.

Best Greek salad you will ever find! Traditional Greek salads have potato salad on the bottom (best surprise ever!), which is in the running for the best Greek potato salad I've ever had as well. Served with fresh, warm pita bread. If you are looking for something a bit more hearty, can't go wrong with the gyro or souvlaki. They have 3 different flavors of hummus....heads up if you get the hummus sampler the servings are a bit on the small side considering the price which was a bit disappointing but all hummus is made fresh at the restaurant and is delish. Recommend the chopped vs traditional....I mean let's be honest why spend all of the time chopping up your veggies when there is an option to have it done for you!! Small and quaint place, only complaint is service can be a bit slow sometimes but always very friendly service none the less. A Greek salad for one could easily be enough for 2 people to share. These people know how to do a good traditional Greek salad!

Stopped by with family members for lunch. We're all big fans of Greek food so we were hoping finding a small place in this neighborhood would give us a close option when we're in the mood. Service was very attentive, and our orders came in average time. While one of us who ordered soup and a turkey sandwich really enjoyed the flavors, two of us that ordered gyros found the flavor just average, and certainly not close to much other Greek fare I've had in north Pinellas. Fairly small portions for the price, too. If you've got to have some Greek, Famous Greek will do, but I'll probably be making time to drive further to my other favorite spots. Atmosphere: 4 Service: 5 Food: 3 Value: 3

One of the best chopped Greek Salads in the area, but the service is slow.
