Good food that is inexpensively priced. The portion sizes are reasonable, except for the pancakes! Don't even think about ordering a stack of 3, they are crazy thick. I liked the Egg-a-rito -- eggs, bacon and cheese wrapped in a tortilla. This place is a nice, casual, friendly place for a quick breakfast.

This is a diner folks! It is not fancy by any means, however if you are looking for a good breakfast at a reasonable price this is the place. I am not sure why so many are saying the service was poor because that is completely false from our experience. The omelette and egg sandwich rock!

Lena , the server is too good. Chuk the chef is good . Mahi fish had no smell. Prices are fantastic. Easy location in front of Hilton.

Cozy place for good breakfast and coffee. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and homefries. In addition to the yummy food, the service was great too. If this location is too crowded, try the one in South Clearwater.

This place is so tiny you almost need to squeeze yourself in with a shoe horn. Don't bother go for the cheap "cap prices" on the signs outside. The $3.99 is for one egg, potato and toast. Adding extra adds up immensely. It needs a face lift, but the staff is nice and so is the breakfast! They did everything they could to fit us 7 as fast as possible. We had the egg dishes on toast and burritos and it was a different breakfast experience. And good. The place has a stressful feeling to it, being tiny and crowded and people waiting outside all the time. It gives you the feeling that you need to hurry and not occupying a table unnecessary long. Maybe not the best start for the day. They accept AMEX.

We had a great little diner breakfast at the Beach Shanty. I didn't realize that there was also one out the front door of our hotel, but this one was only about 3 blocks north. That's the funny thing about Clearwater Beach: there are a lot of restaurants that have multiple locations all in the same area. Very strange. I had the breakfast scramble sandwich with sausage and a side of home fries. Everything was prepared wonderfully, though I'd prefer the sausage to have been in patties vs sliced links. Inexpensive, delicious, good portion sizes, and friendly service. Can't go wrong.

Visited here for breakfast one morning on vacation and the food was so good, I had to come back one last time on the last morning of my vacation. The food here was very cheap and very good. I adored the coconut-flavored pancake syrup and if they had bottled it for individual sale, I would have bought a couple to take home with me. The pancakes, french toast, and bacon were excellent. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely be coming back. Seating is limited so you might have trouble getting in on a busy morning.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE HEALTH OF YOUR FAMILY DO NOT GO HERE I couldn't believe my eyes, I sat at the bar area in hopes of enjoying a quick breakfast with my niece when I noticed that our waitress handled someones cash, counted coins, put spread on several slices of toast, sliced a banana in the air (no peel), and then even put some in her mouth WITHOUT WEARING GLOVES This is a SERIOUS health issue and I plan to report this disgusting establishment to the health department in the very near future

Had the bfast burrito with ham green peppers and onions with cheddar, my husband had the western omlet (basically same thimg minus the burrrito and cheese) my daughter had two eggs over easy with bacon and home fries. All which were great. Coffee came out piping hot fresh and in a great little mug. Burrito was not huge but a decent size and I got a side of home fries too which helped alot with filling me up. I like lots of flavor so I put the special seasoning on the table to flavor them up cause to me they were slightly bland it they were so worth it yummm. When yhe food arrived it smelled so good I thought it may be someone else's and smelled the plate and thought score. Great meal! Great price but boy its small and you have to be on it to get a table! Now I know why. I am impressed.

3.5 stars Great little dive. excellent value, especially for its location. The food portions are generous, pancakes are huge. The omelette was pretty good, but not amazing. The pancakes and overall service were pretty good. Overall good experience

  • David W.

A great place for breakfast. The food is served quickly, with friendly attentive service. It's nothing fancy, just a great breakfast for very little money. Great coffee in large mugs as well.

    (5)
  • Nic J.

It was just okay. Eggs were kinda runny, home fries were kinda over cooked. They brought my wife the wrong toast, and didn't bring me any. Apparently they burned it. By the time I got it, I had finished my breakfast. Coffee was good, though.

    (2)
  • Drew H.

Great food and reasonable prices, but expect to wait a bit since nearly everything is homemade. Good burgers, Reuben, cole slaw.

    (4)
  • Alison L.

Greek omelette was very good and so were the home fries. The seasoning blend on the tables is delicious, try it! Server was good too.

All the way from Arizona. Stumbled on this cute little gem. Very picky 10-year old son loved his cheese omelet and cleared his plate. Something for everyone here. Very cozy and excellent home-style cooking. Potatoes are just ok but everything else was excellent.

Local to clearwater and this is our favorite Saturday morning spot with our dog. The food is great and they are very quick. Best pancakes of the beach.

Perfect place for good, yummy, inexpensive food. Great for families and groups. We ate here everyday on our vacation for breakfast. Def recommend you give it a try. Directly across from the Hyatt (huge pink monsterous hotel).

Very clean, small cafe on the main drag (N) on the island I had the special on the sign out front: Breakfast $3.99. That was TWO eggs, home fries and choice of toast. EMuff was .30 extra. Wifey had the egg sandwich special which is 2 eggs & cheddar on choice of toast for $4.99. Total was under $10 for all drinking only water. Nice large portions for the price. Home fries were very good, they do not have hashbrowns. They had a daily special of eggs benedict for $9.99 also. Prices were very fair, anyone complaining about that has their head up their you-know-what. It was extremely clean for a small hole-in-the-wall, and the waitress was super. Just past one of those stupid traffic circles on the right. No free parking in Clearwater AT ALL, so bring your change for the meters ($1/hr).

  • hays p.

Tasty and quick. Note the $2.99 breakfast is now $3.99. Had the western omelet it was pretty fast. The toast was soggy. The potatoes were burnt and cold (don't know why). But eggs were great!

    (3)
  • Rick L.

Great little place for a quick and affordable breakfast. I had the breakfast sandwich and thought it was wonderful. Really great coffee too! On the main drag directly across from The Hilton. Super friendly staff and great service!

    (4)
  • Perla L.

Food is great. Service not too much. Servers talk up a storm behind the counter as you're eating trying to enjoy your breakfast. Thin older looking lady especially would not shut up sitting at the counter folding silverware into napkins as she talked obnoxiously loud. Ruined it. Never returned during our trip went elsewhere. Servers need to smile and be more friendly

    (1)
  • James P.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast. Everything was good, but the cheesesteak omelet was amazing. Good service and price as well.

    (4)
  • Ayesha N.

This place was a good find at 8:00am. $3.99 for two eggs home fries and toast is great! The coffee mugs are large and the coffee is fresh. It's simple, clean and the wait staff was polite. You're within walking distance to the beach so fill up and get going.

    (4)
  • Louie R.

After spending a few hours on the beach we decided to find some lunch. The Beach Shanty was right across the street. The food took a little bit to come out but everything was hot, fresh and delicious.

    (5)
  • Kacy K.

This is a cute hole-in-the-wall place with fantastic food! The employees are very nice, and the service is good. It just gets a little busy, so the wait for your food can be a little long. The food is delicious though!

    (5)
  • Hunter H.

Stayed in the Hilton right across the street and ate here every morning! Good food and always busy. Try the coconut syrup!

  • Finn A.

First time visitors to Clearwater and in search of a good breakfast place after a morning in the gulf swimming. This place fit the bill and then some. No wait and taken to a table immediately. Great ambiance and feel inside, very homy and great staff that uses humor. Service could not have been faster!! Eggs are good, bacon is amazing, pancakes are over the top awesome (be sure to get them with some kind of fruit). Coffee was a tad pricey but for two people, two meals + two coffees, $20 incl tip. And we were full until dinner with small snacks in between. Will come again. Next time chocolate chip pancakes are on the list!

  • Julie C.

We enjoyed our breakfasts here. Really inexpensive, fast, casual, eggs done right. The waitresses are absolute sweethearts, too. Everything you want in a casual, easy, breakfast, from good coffee to great food. Thanks!

Great way to start the day, Breakfast, and this was a good place to have it! Right off the main beach and in the middle of everything there is this little dive. Now I think it's OK to call it a dive, I mean it in the most complimentary way. This is a little dinner that looks likes it's been here forever. Local flair without the huge lineup of tourists and hung over college kids. The breakfast was very good. Not all fluffy and designed on my plate but for the eggs with corn beef hash it was just how it should look and it tasted damn good. The hash was great, simple eggs over easy and really good toast. Hash browns could have been a little crispier but since I got the hash I wasn't planning on eating them anyways. I would definitely come again. Oh yeah, the coffee was pretty good as well. I love little places like this. Make it simple, make it good and people will come in! KT

My triathlon group trains at Clearwater Beach often. The Beach Shanty is a post workout breakfast must. Food is good and priced cheap! They also don't mind a bunch of sweat triathletes in there either. I normally order a combo of eggs, toast, bacon, home fries, and a blueberry pancake on the side. The combo is about $5 or $6 so its a steal! I've eaten here about 6 times and the service was great 5/6. One visit we had a crabby waitress, but that happens from time to time. Parking has always been easy for me, but sometimes my friends that meet there have a hard time getting close parking. I'd like to get there for a lunch sometime as I have only tried breakfast.

Grouper sandwich? Yes, please. Quaint little cafe across from the Hyatt that offers breakfast specials into the afternoon for those who like to sleep late on vacation. I tend to eat lunch between 11-11:30 (I can't help it, I'm starving!) so I opted for the special of the day which was the grouper sandwich. Delicious! The service was very fast and attentive and they seemed to be quite busy. Indoor and outdoor seating but no view of the water.

  • J M.

Ate here twice in two days. Breakfast burrito on day one was really tasty and fresh, had some sort of sandwich on day two, also good. Real nice servers, food is good and fairly priced, and BEST OF ALL, this is a place you can get breakfast EVEN ON WEEKENDS (I'm FED UP with tourist-traps and other fancy-ass establishments pushing BRUNCH BRUNCH BRUNCH down my throat when all I want is BREAKFAST!) Yay, Beach Shanty!

  • Victor V.

This location is so close to the Clearwater Beachwalk & Pier 60. My friend and I had breakfast and headed out for a walk right after. I can't complain about a $2.99 breakfast. Egg, potatoes & toast! My friend got corned beef hash. Such great service the waitress brought out more corned beef hash on the house! I liked the bold coffee they had that morning. Friend had a mimosa. I'll definitely be back next time I visit Clearwater.

AWESOME PLACE!!! Best breakfast in Clearwater, the owner is always there and so great! East most of our breakfast's here while visiting.

Cute, inexpensive spot for bfast. Had the eggwich and fiancé had the eggrito and both were good. Friendly staff and nice to have a low bill for once.

I was staying at the Hilton Clearwater, and wasn't sure where to eat for breakfast. While sitting on the balcony looking out across the street , I noticed this breakfast spot, and remembered seeing it mentioned on yelp. Glad we decided to stop in, because it's fresh and delicious home cooked breakfast. The place is small and probably couldn't seat more than 30 people at any given time. The service is friendly and laid back. Ordered toast, potatoes, 2 eggs, sausage and a glass of orange juice for around $8. Toast comes out buttered or un-buttered and there is jam incase you want to add some flavor. All in all I was pleased with my experience here. Dined here twice and of those times we had friendly service and good food both times. The 2nd time we even showed up a couple minutes after they stopped serving breakfast and after asking if we could still order, they allowed us. The 4 stars are for convenience, friendly service, and a good breakfast.

This is a flat iron grill greasy spoon... Have had breakfast here a dozen times an lunch once. It's always been good quality and well... U got a perfect excuse to go take a walk on the each after your meal. Also... Portions aren't ridiculous in size like most places (eg Frog Pond) and you can walk out without a carb coma. Weekend breakfast is always busy so plan accordingly.

    (4)
  • Marta H.

Great breakfast & lunch selection. Food is always fresh & the servers are the friendliest in Clearwater! Ate two times during this trip & will definitely be back again. The Greek Omelet is AMAZING!

  • Kelli R.

This is a small cafe in Clearwater Beach that serves breakfast and lunch. We stopped in for lunch while on vacation. The cafe was clean, staff was very friendly, restrooms were clean. Food was reasonably priced. I had a grilled grouper sandwich which was quite good, though a bit dry. I dumped some salsa on there and it added just the right touch. My friend got a chicken caesar wrap which was mostly lettuce with hardly any chicken - she was disappointed. Too bad as the rest of the experience was pretty good.

    (3)
  • Stephanie M.

The Beach Shanty Cafe is an awesome breakfast place. The sign outside simply says "Cafe" and is walking distance from many hotels in Clearwater beach. The coffee comes in large soup-like mugs and is very good. I ordered an omelette with everything and it was awesome!

    (5)
  • Allie M.

Oh such a quick delicious stop! Everything is home made, day of with fresh ingredients. Surprise delight!

    (5)
  • Anastasia B.

Breakfast starting at $2.99. How can anyone complain about that?! You get what you pay for. The Beach Shanty Cafe is probably the best breakfast/brunch option along Clearwater Beach, given the fact that it's the only non-hotel restaurant open on an early Sunday morning. I haven't had canned corned beef hash in decades, but I can't complain about the huge plate of cholesterol for only a handful of dollars. This is a fast high turnover diner/dive, so expect to be prodded like cattle. Don't be surprised when your bill arrives before you can shovel that last bite of runny egg into your mouth. Linger at your own risk.

  • J O.

Terrible food and abhorrent service. Seriously the rudest and worst I've ever been treated at a so-called restaurant. Filthy and too many tables packed into a tiny place. Staff looked like homeless transients and they accosted us for asking to sit at a booth. It was so bad we just walked out. We ate at another location the day before and the food was mediocre. There aren't many other options for cheap food on the island, which is probably the only reason this dump stays open. Save your time and money and go to McDonalds. You will thank me.

  • Y Y.

We had just walked from the clearwater marine aquarium and we were getting hungry so we decided to try the beach shanty. We chose a seat at a booth . It was a nice place although we felt rushed a little bit. I had the greek salad wrap it had crisp lettuce , tomatoes , feta cheese , and greek dressing . It was delicious . My cutie patootie daughter had the cheese dog and loooved it. Over all we give it a four star.

  • Sue C.

Recommended by our airport shuttle driver. We tried it for lunch and there was an overwhelming smell of old grease, which made the meal unappealing.

    (1)
  • Chad D.

Very good breakfast burrito. The service was pretty decent given the mass amount of people in there. No frills diner style for real cheap.

    (4)
  • Bensan G.

Great place to grab breakfast. I was looking for something small, fast, and local and I was really happy when I found this small cafe. My family and I was on vacation in Clearwater and both days. We were so happy with this place that we started both days at the Beach Shanty Cafe. Their chocolate chip pancakes are so satisfying and delicious. They have a friendly staff that keeps you smiling every time they come to your table. Will definitely go again when I am in that part of Florida.

    (5)
  • Steph L.

I hate giving small businesses just an OK rating, but to be a completely honest yelper, the food is nothing special. Their breakfast starts at $2.99, which gets you 1 egg, potatoes and toast. Add another $1 and get another egg. They also have sandwiches and salads for lunch starting at around $6. If you're just looking for a decent meal, nothing more and nothing less, then definitely come here. Everyone is VERY nice, which makes the food taste better =)

    (3)
  • Mimi K.

Better than I expected. My husband and I ate here both of the days we were in Clearwater Beach. I would eat here again if I were staying longer and here are some of the reasons why: The food is inexpensive, flavorful. and appropriately portioned. The waitstaff is friendly and prompt. I ordered fresh fruit and received a large bowl of delicious fruit that looked like it was made to order. In fact the banana was room temp which made me think they cut it up specifically for my order. We spent 4 days in FL this past week and this is the first restaurant to automatically provide real half & half and real butter with my breakfast. The coffee is strong but flavorful. The restaurant itself is small and is nothing fancy. If you want good, affordable food and friendly service this is the place to go.

    (4)
  • Edgar R.

It's a hole in the wall but the service is excellent my breakfast was delicious and the portions were large. Would go back when I am back in town. Oh! Right across from the Hilton

    (4)
  • Aaron G.

I finally made it back to the Beach Shanty Cafe, after three years. Unbelievable...the food was exactly the same way then, as it is now and I loved it! Everything is cooked literally feet from where you sit, the aroma was intoxicating. If you do not get there early, you will have to wait for a while but they will try to seat you as soon as possible. I suggest you belly up to the counter in small groups. I have only had breakfast here and it was great. The french toast is outstanding and the coffee is always fresh. If you are in Clearwater, go to the Beach Shanty Cafe.

    (5)
  • Frank H.

This is a breakfast house. Pure and simple. Hot coffee, eggs cooked to order, fast service. Breakfast yes, fine dining nope. Priced well and service was right on.

    (5)
  • Bubba B.

I have to say I'm a definitely disappointed. When a restaurant gets all 5 star reviews (even if it's only 7 at the time), it's hard not to think it will be great. First off, they were accommodating when I wanted breakfast and it was already half an hour past when they stopped serving it, so that was a definite plus! Other than that though, the service wasn't great. The food was good, but not amazing or anything. Prices were good and it is a nice little diner with that beach sort of feel, but nothing I would necessarily recommend to anyone. All around it was very average....

    (2)
  • J B.

Breakfast here was fast and right on for the price. You can't beat the atmosphere since it feels like Key West with all the yellow...too bad the large hotel in front of the view to the water kills that idea of seeing the ocean...service was the best in Florida. Looking for a diner...you got one.

    (3)
  • Jane M.

After trying the buffet at both the Hilton and the Hyatt, we decided to go with a little local place and wished we had done it sooner. Made our last breakfast our best! We paid less than half what we had at the big resort and the food was so much better. Go here - you won't be disappointed!

    (4)
  • Sean M.

Cheap and delicious breakfast! You should go everyday, don't bother with the hotel buffets

    (5)
  • Matt K.

Good benedicts, they use a fresh hollandaise. Blueberry pancakes have real blueberries.

    (3)
  • Leslie J.

This place was right across the street from the Hilton where we were staying and the 2.99 sign outside was definitely appealing, which it is meant to do, but it peaked our interest and looked at the menu outside to see the real cost of a normal sized breakfast. It is no frills kind of breakfast, but that's what we were looking for. Otherwise we would've paid the 15 bucks or whatever crazy cost it is at the hotel. I got 2 eggs up, sausage, home fries and rye toast with a small OJ. I enjoyed every bite. The best part was that we walked up and down the street next to this place afterwards at the gift shops to work off breakfast.

    (4)
  • Eric L.

Not a bad breakfast, but exceptionally average! Clean (as was the men's room), with friendly service. Garnish on the plate (a few orange slices to let the snowbirds know they're in FL), and butter for the toast rather than the cook smearing it with margarine, are simple things they should change.

    (3)
  • James A.

If it was 1976 then this restaurant would be average, but it is 2012 and it is time for a facelift and for the owner to take great pride in the quality of employees, food and ambience. I had to put napkins over the vinyl table cloth to prevent my arms from sticking to the table. Enough said.

    (1)
  • Mike T.

This place was so average; these good reviews must be fake. There was a wait to get in for breakfast and the line did go quickly but that is about where the positive experience ended. The service was friendly but very slow. Coffee was very low quality and tasted cheap. The food was extremely average, at best. We ordered a waffle and an omelet; the syrup was just sitting on the table in squirt bottles. The omelet ended up costing $10 just to add two items. It was big, but almost inedible it lacked so much flavor. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to eat in Clearwater.

    (1)
  • Sandy L.

We ate here every day for a week between breakfast and lunch. Breakfast foods awesome....the bacon thick and tasty, eggs cooked to perfection and best pancakes ever! And at lunch we had the grilled grouper sandwich minus the bun and added a salad....super light and delicious. But the best of all, was Lana and the staff..they have it done to perfection....thanks guys...

  • Caleb R.

Incredible food!!! We ate lunch here and it was amazing!!! You have to be ready for a relaxed atmosphere before you walk in!!! The Philly Cheesestake is incredible and their fries are amazing!!! So are their burgers!!!

Great breakfast place - staff was very helpful.

  • N. F.

Excellent place for breakfast. Reminded me of a NJ Diner on the beach. Had to wait 10 minutes for a table of 5 @ 9am or so. Definitely go back if I was in the area.

  • LeftCoast Y.

This is the place we were looking for for breakfast!!! Great service, nice people, and amazing pancakes!!! We returned for breakfast four days in a row. Get there early or you'll wait....but not too bad. We could gauge the line from our hotel room balcony. Had lunch to-go a couple times too. Subs are fresh made to order. Philly cheese steak sub is great!! Enjoy!

  • Rob S.

Good food, fair prices, staff is super friendly. Forget the fancy-schmancy places. This is a great local spot. Gets crowded. We got right in, but there was a line the rest of the weekend.

Basic breakfast, great price for the beach. Wonderful pancakes

Excellent breakfast, friendly wait staff. Nice home style atmosphere & food. A great breakfast at a very affordable price!

Excellent diner breakfast. A bit of a wait and a fairly limited menu, but excellent food and pleasant staff.

  • Paul M L.

Why 5 stars, because they hit the target on every mark, we had pancakes, they were light and fluffy like a pancake should be and they had flavor, to add to that they have a homemade Coconut syrup they make that kicks it up a koch. We had a spinach Florentine Benedict that was awesome, the hollandaise sauce was light and very tasty. We had a build your own Omelette that was spot on! The staff was very friendly and the place is very clean. The only thing I could say is the kitchen was very slow but I cannot trash them on that as it was a Sunday morning at 11 o'clock and they were at capacity, they were doing the best they could and the waitress was very apologetic and kept checking on us . 5 stars for them!!

  • Tiffany C.

All the reviews made this place seem like a hidden gem so we had to give it a try. Yesterday, are breakfast was so great I was expecting something similar again from here. Not the case, unfortunately. The staff were friendly and the hash browns were good. Only two things this place has going for it. The french toast wasn't cooked all the way thru. The omelet was made with packaged cheese, not freshly sliced American. The bacon was thin and flaky. The large OJ was $4!. Everyone on Yelp raved about the cheap eats here but we still spent $27+ tip for barely mediocre food. I was sadly disappointed because I was hoping for the best. If you truly want fried eggs and hash browns for cheap, then go here. If you want an excellent breakfast without feeling claustrophobic with a great atmosphere and a Bloody Mary bar, go one block further to Clear Sky Cafe. A few more dollars for an amazing meal.

    (2)
  • Jersey G.

Food was very tasty, the waffles were AMAZING, but $4 for OJ? We spent more money eating here than we did at Pappa's Diner the next day, and we got more food. Staff was nice, coffee was really good, food came out fast, wait was about 10 minutes. Parking can be a challenge unless you get here early. Good place to eat and will probably eat here again but will skip the $4 OJ.

Best breakfast we had while staying in Clearwater! Very friendly staff and great food.

    (5)
  • Vicki B.

Great simple diner cuisine. Fresh mushrooms in my omelette were awesome. Salsa was amazing for the wrap. Quick friendly service. Even had mimosa's for a great breakfast vacation treat! Way cheeper than hotel food.

  • Amy D.

Right in the heart of Clearwater Beach, the Beach Shanty Cafe is a quaint little spot to grab a quick breakfast before hitting the beach. I had only 30 minutes to spare so we were seated right away and served within minutes. There were daily specials and a variety of breakafst entrees and sandwiches to select from. I got the basic two eggs breakfast with bacon so it's hard to mess up, but the service was unbeatable - attentive, quick and could manage a crowd.

  • Dustin D.

Fast, fresh, tasty breakfast dump right next to the Hilton hotel. We came here twice we liked it so much during our stay in Clearwater Beach! Good spot for tourists. Try the Greek omelet. Very cheesy and full of delicious goodness.

    (4)
  • Rick F.

Hands down...best breakfast in Clearwater. Right across the street from the Hilton, great prices, great service. Expect a wait given the small location...but well worth it. Will be back.

    (5)
  • Fong L.

Very sweet people working here. Loved my corn beef hash (perfectly extra crispy) and grilled tomato.

    (5)
  • Apearl C.

I enjoyed breakfast here. Very small.... down home restaurant / semi greasy spoon. I ordered french toast, eggs, and smoked ham. The French Toast was really good. My favorite part was their homemade Coconut syrup. I wanted to but some to take home but they don't retail it :( This place is worth the visit while in Clearwater.

    (4)
  • Maria M.

Excellent service and food! Pancakes were delicious, must try the coconut syrup! Food came out quickly and everyone was very friendly!

    (5)
  • Yang J.

Fast in serving food, tastes very good. The toast is just as good as all the other reviews. Why not 5 star? I do see people handling cash and serving plates at the same time. Might be a concern for some people, maybe.

    (4)
  • Mary A.

Best burger and home made onion rings on the beach. Looks like a hole in wall but believe me well worth going in and having lunch. Our lunch spot everyday while we are in Clearwater.

Great service. The sandwiches come in huge portions and the unsweetened tea is flavorful. Definitely coming back when in Clearwater.

I love this place. It's just what a diner should be - friendly, laid-back, southern, and cheap. Diners aren't for snobs, so if you're a hoity toity, this is probably not for you. The coffee is great, they cook your eggs right, and there are grits. Plus, the price can't be beat. You can go in here with a swimsuit and a cover up, eat, and walk across the street to the beach. Love it!

I rolled over here for a solo breakfast while in town for a wedding. Full disclosure: I was staying across the street and the $2.99 Breakfast sign caught my eye. More often than not "you get what you pay for" but that is not the case here. This really is the best breakfast place in Clearwater Beach. Decor: It's your basic, small, hole-in-the-wall cafe but it has outdoor seating and is clean and well maintained. It does have a bit of a beach theme, as one would expect, but it isn't over the top or trying too hard. There are also plenty of seats/tables but it is definitely a popular place. Bathroom: I did not use the bathroom during my visit. Staff: I cannot say enough about how awesome the staff is. They are all super friendly, super nice, and super speedy with everything! Honestly, within five minutes, I felt like I had been coming there for years. They made me feel right at home and that they really appreciated my business. You don't see this quality of people at many places anymore (esp. being from NYC...) so it was a very, very welcomed surprise. Food/Drink: The food is cheap, which is awesome, but it is really delicious as well (HUGE bonus!)! I was going to go with a basic breakfast but could not pass up the Eggs Benedict (my benchmark meal for rating a breakfast place). They whipped it up quick and really knocked it out of the park - it was fantastic! Value: I think it is pretty obvious that this place is absolutely the best bang for your buck around. It's probably even more affordable than a Waffle House but with an amazing experience to go along with it. If I lived in the area I would come here every morning for breakfast, it is THAT enjoyable. From the food, to the staff, to the value, everything was top notch and unparalleled by any other establishment. My only regret is that I was not able to make it back for lunch - next time I'm even REMOTELY in the area I will certainly be making a special trip back here.

Yummy quick breakfast. Small Diner atmosphere. Don't let the outside display be the judge for this place. I was happy with food & quick service.

My hubby and I recently stayed the week at the Hilton across the street - We stopped in on our second day at the beach and loved it so much we went back a few more times that week for breakfast. The staff was very welcoming and the food was fresh and delicious. My husband had the breakfast burrito and I had scrambled eggs with tomatoes. The coffee is served in huge mugs and they even provided us to-go cups on our way out. Very clean inside and the price is very reasonable.

Found this place on my last day staying in Clearwater beach and it is directly across the street from the Hilton hotel. We went for breakfast and were lucky to get seated right away. This restaurant is not large at all so they serve the food right away so they can turn tables over fairly quickly. I had the eggs Benedict and they were great. They come with slices of real ham that is thick and an abundant amount of hollandaise sauce. Two minor issues I had were: 1. They don't serve hash browns only home fries- to their credit they were good but I really only eat hash browns. 2. The hollandaise sauce could have used some more flavor, after a few bites it lots its zing. Overall this seems to be a great place for breakfast if you are staying in the area and you should give it a try. Oh yeah the service was very attentive and well managed

I think I could cook eggs on the hood of a car sitting out in the hot sun and it would turn out better than the eggs I ate here. That's essentially what the food here tastes like. Go here if you need a no frills breakfast bite and you have a bunch of kids you need to feed on the cheap otherwise, if you want a GREAT breakfast go to ClearSky or Maggie Mae's. WAY better food and atmosphere than this place. My boyfriend and I wanted just a breakfast sandwich before our day at the beach. We waited 20 mins to eat an over-cooked dried out egg scrambled on some toast. Also after waiting for our food, they got my order wrong so I to wait for them to correct it and then I had to pull it from the kitchen bar myself because no one was paying attention. If you're a germaphobe (I'm not): fair warning - the cooks don't wear hair nets and the waitresses handling the cash also slice the bread without washing their hands. My boyfriend and I watched it all go down behind the counter while we waited for our food to come out. It's edible food here. I've had better at most waffle houses though. Tip to Clearwater travelers: don't rely on what the 'locals' eat. The 'locals' prefer chain restaurants and (the ones I've met at least) have a very limited dining/culinary experience being from FL, leaving them without any discernible taste. The locals like this place because of one thing only: it's cheap. It's very average quality food.

By far the best cafe I have come across in Clearwater. The staff was wonderful and attentive, the place had a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was both delicious and inexpensive.

Since I've lived here, i've always seen the 3.99 (it's been raised from $2.99) Breakfast sign! Finally I found the opportunity to drop in while volunteering for a beach run and swim! Saturday morning, 8:00am, it was packed with locals and tourists AND the servers were up for the challenge. Service was great! The $3.99 breakfast was the basic eggs, toast, and coffee. I'm good with that. BUT the omelets were the bomb! I'm reviewing this after my second time here and if you're at or near Pier 60, THIS IS IT!

It's cheap food that can be eaten. That's about it. If you're on the beach, and need an easy breakfast that finicky people would eat, then you can go here. But don't expect anything all that great. Clear Sky is 1000 times better (though pricier, too) and Maggie Mae's across the south bridge into Sand Key is much better and not much pricier. Came here for a quick breakfast, and we got the breakfast part. They were on a wait, but 2 seats were open at the counter. Got greeted quickly, and that was all that happened quickly, They were busy, but they also had a large grill and were pre-cooking potatoes, bacon and sausage, so most of the primary items were good to go and how long do eggs take. As it stood, my breakfast sandwich (eggs, onions, pepper, diced ham, and cheese) and my girlfriend's (eggs, cheese, lettuce and tomato) took at least 30 minutes, and my girlfriend's came out without the lettuce and tomato. Once they fixed it, she had to get up and grab it off the counter because no one was paying attention to it being there. When we finally ate everything, we discovered it wasn't anything special. Certainly not worth waiting 30 minutes for. Also couldn't get a water refill until the end of the meal. Oh wait, I forgot about the special parts added to our meal - first, the servers all handled money, credit cards, and the toast and bread. They would go immediately from handling cash - some of the dirtiest things to change people's hands imaginable - to grabbing toast and slicing it. So special ingredient number one was the mountains of bacteria from the money that ended up on our food. Not a single person washed their hands after handling money or put on gloves to take care of the bread. No one, including the cooks, wore hair nets either. They did sweat all over the food though, so at least everything stayed moist. Finally, the guy who was busing the table kept dropping the dirty rag right next to my girlfriend on the counter top, including when she was eating, instead of putting it - oh, I don't know - at a wait station or behind the counter. I guess what I am saying here is, if you want a bacteria and germ infested egg sandwich with a side of dirty rag and cook sweat, then this is where you want to go. By the way, if you're wondering why we stayed, it was because when you reach a certain point in hunger, you'll eat anything. I had only reached that point because we were waiting so long, and it was spring break, the beach was slammed, and going anywhere else would have meant starting a wait (and probably a longer one) from scratch. My stomach overrides everything else.

Went there for breakfast very good basic breakfast that is well price for area. The service was pretty good and kept my coffee cup full which is important that time of day. I had well done hash and eggs pretty basic but hit the spot wife had breakfast burrito which she did not love also did not come with home fries. Overall a pretty good basic menu reasonably price for area and the place is very clean

We stayed at the Hilton across the street and saw the line to get in so we figured we would check it out . After about 25 minute wait we where able to get a table . Once we got in server was friendly and excellent food was fast and tasty and the prices are excellent too. Other than it being small which is why your wait is so long it's definitely worth it.

Great spot for coffee, and light breakfast. Get there before nine if you want to beat the rush, otherwise the line is out the door.
