This place was fucking horrible. No only did we wait 10 mins to get ONE cup of water we had to ask for another being there was two of us. Then once we ordered our food she came back and told us it would be 40 mins for simple dishes that I'm sure are pre-made 45 mins later we ask if they can check on our two basic orders and she comes back saying it will be another 15-25 mins more we just got up and Left. They were the worse service ever.

The food was average. I had the bandeja paisa. The pork was really greasy and it seems that it was fried with old oil. My wife had the carne asada. She got the wrong sides that she asked for, and never got the right sides after letting the server know. HERE IS WHY I GAVE IT A LOW RATING: $2.95 FOR A CAN OF SODA. YES, $2.95 FOR A CAN OF SODA. We will not visit this place again.

Great authentic food and delicious homemade drinks, they even handcrafted a lemonade for my daughter. The decor and ambiance was subpar and when we first walked in we almost didn't stay but the food made our stay worth it!

My visit to 'Los Portales' this past Saturday night (11/16/13) was my first and DEFINITELY LAST. First off, there was a ridiculous $5 cover charge to go into this so called "family restaurant". I just wanted to go eat some Colombian food I've heard so highly about. So, now I have to pay to be able to eat your food I'll be paying for anyways??? Apparently this restaurant turns into some kind of pathetic, after hours, Latin dance club at night. We started off with drinks, ordered margaritas (one frozen, not on the rocks). The waiter brought the wrong type of margarita, so we asked him to bring the frozen one like we originally asked. He proceeded to bring some kind of frozen concoction that was a sad excuse for a margarita, which were priced at $6, and just tasted like water. We had to let the waiter know and he approached the owner about it. The waiter brought out another one, this one even worse. The owner was so incredibly rude and didn't even try solve the problem. Anyways, I decided to order the 'Bandeja Paisa'. It was incredibly disappointing. This dish is usually an amazing dish. Los Portales' version of the dish was absolutely horrible (It looked nothing like the picture in the menu or the one posted on here.) and way overpriced. On top of all that, when the Mariachi band started to play, a fight broke out. It was pretty bad, windows broken and bottles smashed. I'm pretty sure there were injuries and whatnot, there wasn't a police officer or medic in sight. This was just ridiculous. This is supposed to be a highly spoken of "family restaurant"??? You've got to be kidding me. The bill ended up being $180 for just that one dish and five drinks (They had the audacity to charge for that horrible margarita AND add 50 cents to it!!). It was a terrible experience, one of our iPhones was stolen, and the bathrooms were gross. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER STEPPING FOOT IN THIS PLACE.

If you are looking to eat some authentic Peruvian ceviche, this is the place. Regardless of what any other review might say, I have spent a significant amount of time living in Peru, and I am quite the fan of their style of ceviche. The seafood is extremely fresh and is served in the appropriate manner. My wife and I went twice in one week because the ceviche was so good. The crab empanadas are also outstanding. The waiter was extremely attentive and gave special attention to our son which was greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that the restaurant is also a late night club, so you may want to come and eat early.

Went there last night for dinner and to enjoy good music as we had been going for some time, the service was absolutely horrible, the waiter can't remember his name because I just saw him once at our table was absolutely rude, apparently there's new owners and his entire staff members weren't even giving us eye contact, we kept raising our hands to get the waiter's attention to at least get our bill and leave but it never happened, my husband had to walk over to them and when he did they said we will bring it to you 15 minutes later and they never did. After a second attempt to get our bill he came by the table and drop the bill and I mean dropped in the floor, never even apologize. I couldn't believe. We will never go back to this place not even for the music. A NO star will be more accurate....

Me and my hubby came here a few months ago for dinner and we enjoyed it very much. It wasn't that busy and still a bit early but the plates were very tasty and huge especially for the price and the drinks you couldn't beat it. We stuffed ourselves and took the rest home which lasted us the whole next day. We both had Banedeja Paisa and a Ceviche Peruano to share. The waiter/bartender was very attentive and also very friendly, polite and funny. I would definitely come back here for dinner again because it has that mom and pop community feel to it. (not fancy at all)

What a find! Family owned restaurant with great food, large portions and friendly service. I can't say enough about the food - fresh empanadas! Octopus salad! Shrimp Ceviche ! Rice with chicken or shrimp ... It's all great here! Must try. They have 2 for $20 including dinner on select entrees from 4-8PM. Don't walk-run or drive as fast as the speed limit allows. Note: Closed Mon and Tues. Weds is slow .. if you want a quiet leisurely dinner go then, but the place sure heats up on the other days of the week!

My boyfriend and I went about a month ago. The service was good but the food was just bad. I had some sort of seafood medley basket and my boyfriend had the same. I took a couple bites and could not finish eating. The mussels they served were still closed. I was sure if I kept eating I would be sick. Nothing on the plate was fresh, the ceviche was awful and out of the entire medley nothing tasted good. I don't trust their quality and I won't be going back.

was super excited to find a colombian flag flying in Casselberry! this is a hole in the wall in a shopping center, upon entering the very empty restuarant on a Wednesday night, i met the owner who was the sweetest man ever! He explained the restaurant is Colombian/ Peruvian and they do alot of events on the weekend for the hispanic community. facebook.com/losportales… has a super deeeelish maracuya juice in water... done like fruit juice in milk! hahah they didnt have LuLo which was disappointing as this is my absolute favvvvvvvv!!! The empanadas were eh, alright... too much potato and not enough meat. i also ordered a Carne Asado and although it was tasty... it was not Carne Asada it was definately Palomilla. I know my meatssss!!! All in all its a decent place... need to go back and try the ceviche everyone is talking about.

I recently visited Los Portales and it was so good I was back a week later for Father's Day. The restaurant is a quaint hole in the wall that is family owned. The staff is always super friendly and courteous and the service is great. Both times I have gone I've ordered the Shrimp Mofongo and it was honestly one of the best Mofongo I have ever had. I came back for more a week later, didn't I? My party ordered the Ceviche which I also tried and it definitely lives up to the hype. It was perfect! We also ordered the Crab Empanadas as appetizers and were surprised that they were made to order. It really makes a difference when they're fresh and they were so delicious we ordered another round. This is a great place if you are really missing that special flavor from home. Also, if you are not a meat eater, there is plenty to choose from.

The food was average, nothing crazy. Ceviche was a turn down, nothing close to Peruvian ceviche (not sure what nationality they we're going for). We had a closed party with food and service; the food still average, but service was attentive. I visited a while back, so hopefully they have different food standards now.

Must have.....SANGRIA!! It's homemade & it's delicious! Possibly the best sangria I have ever had. Food was good!! I've experienced a lot of Spanish food & this was not the best but also not the worst. My husband really enjoyed his meal which was the churrasco steak with red beans & rice. He said it was really good & flavorful. I had the grilled chicken mofongo which would have been really good but the grease they used to fry the mofongo was bad & it had a "stale" taste to it. However the grilled chicken was great! I will give this place a second chance but might skip the mofongo next time. The best part about this visit was our server. He was seriously the best, so sweet, kind & on point! Don't get discourage by the shopping center, go in & give this place a chance! Also, it turns into a night club at night...after 9!

Complete and total hole in the wall located in the Big Lots Shopping Center in Casselberry, but by far, the BEST Ceviche I've had in town. Including Ceviche at the restaurant Ceviche! This restaurant by day and supper club at night serves the Latin crowd with a big following. I usually frequent the establishment for lunch as its reasonable and not a lot of people. I start with the Ceviche and the roasted corn kernels with the most delicious spicy mustard sauce for dipping that smokes any nuts in a bowl bar food. I then follow up with their version of Peruvian steak and fries which is delicious and cheap! Two people could share all of this and walk away with a bill less than $20 bucks (assuming you don't order any alcohol). Don't be afraid to try it....its a great place to try Peruvian food! I give it an A-Ok only because the supper club element does make the place smell like you're eating in a club which is a minor turn-off to me. But for the price and taste, I'm willing to overlook it.

The food was amazing and the portions definitely left you full. You might drive by it several times but you will be missing out on some amazing flavors and reasonable prices! The average price was about $10-11.00. I ordered the Bistec Empanizado and it was delicious! Extremely filling and generous portions! I would suggest everyone to check it out!
