This is a fairly small shop with no seating. It's very clean and bright inside. We picked up two Italians with everything. The sandwiches were good, sub, hoagie, whatever, it's better than most to be had where I live. We went for the nine inch instead of the foot long, they lasted about 2 minutes. The bread was fresh all the meats were top quality. The people were friendly and the prices are reasonable, I will go back when I'm in town. * parking could be tough. * it is small and narrow I can imagine it get cramped at times. * the no cell phone use sign made me chuckle.

great icecream but stupid rule of having to spend 15$ to use a credit card. If I want a milkshake I'm not paying extra to use a credit card..

Dear People of Wilmington, DE. Do you have any idea what lurks in your backyard? NO? It is simply one of the best hoagies I have sunk my choppers into in the last 10 years. Oops, my blunder. Hailing from South Jersey, I call them hoagies. Properly, I should call them submarines or subs when I cross the Delaware border. My poker buddy has been telling me about Yatz now for several months. He said there are two things that go into their subs that makes the difference. First, the bread. The bread is baked fresh daily at a neighboring Italian bakery. Secondly, they slice each of meats and cheeses, to order, for every single sandwich. I'm a firm believer in both of these, and at the first bite of my first Yatz submarine, I'm hooked. They also have cheesesteaks and water ice! I simply cannot wait to go back again. I imagine everything else is going to be second best from here out for a long time.

Can only speak for the Lemon Italian Ice. Too icy, too sweet and too sour at the same time and tasted very odd. Maybe it's the water? The only reason it's not 1 star is because it was made on the premises although it was no good. It's probably better than Ritas at best.

Yatz's is a hidden gem in Little Italy. On a corner of a busy street, parking is hard to find, but definitely worth the trip. Yatz's is famous for their hoagies (which I have yet to try!) and their Italian Ice. $1.00 for a small (but it is not very small) Italian ICe! What a steal! Rita's probably charges $3.00. After reading the other reviews, I am anxious to try their Italian hoagie. yum!

If you get a hoagie from anywhere else in Wilmington you are wasting your time. The cheesesteaks are good too. Just make sure to bring cash or you will have to go hit the atm.

Oh how I miss you Yatz subs. I grew up 2 blocks away and ate here often. It is the inexpensive yet tasty alternative to Capriotti's down the street. I used to walk here with my sister for ice cream cones in the Summer. This is one of the hole in the wall gems of the Little Italy area. It may not look like much on the corner but it packs a tasty submarine sized punch on the inside. Subs, steaks, water ice, ice cream?? All in one place! Now that's some freakin' one stop shoppin.

Best hoagies and great service on Union Street in the Little Italy area. It's a small place with a counter, no seats available. I think they beat Capriotti's. Great bread and fresh meats. Definitely give them a try!
