The staff was very helpful!I went there for the first time for lunch and had no idea where to order but a worker quickly and kindly helped me out. I ended up ordering a ham sub and let me tell you, they PACKED it! And for the price of $5, it couldn't get any better than that. I'll definitely be coming back!

The Rat Pack Café is a nice deli on the first floor of the PNC building, convenient so that you can deposit a check into your savings account while nearly simultaneously depositing a roast beef sandwich with club sauce into your belly. I've deposited about a dozen of those sandwiches - called The Chairman - over the last 18 months. There is a 100% chance that you will hear "Luck Be a Lady" while you are in there. Technically, it's Rat Pack-themed, but I've only ever heard Sinatra being played on an infinite loop - no Sammy Davis Jr., and definitely not any Peter Lawford. Also within the Rat Pack Café, you will find one of the most gorgeous collections of potato chips in downtown Wilmington. The hoagies here are big, and with the chips and drinks, you can really get a nice Bill Cosby-esque hoagie meal going. Remember when Cliff Huxtable would have the whole house to himself? When Claire was out at a big socially conscious price-gouging trial, that was the time to get a huge-ass hoagie ready. At the Rat Pack, you can put a big bag of obscure flavored chips right on that thing and grab a bottle of orange soda to go with. Wait, Bill Cosby wasn't even in the Rat Pack. I'm mixing metaphors. Maybe it was the coldness of the mid march morning but it seemed street folk were in here to get warm. Staff seem angry and listless. However...my ham egg n cheese english muffin was perfect. Credit the lovely and cheerful cooks. Beware the coffee is brewed mild.

New owners have taken this place to a new level. Food is excellent, much of it home made, and the portions are large. Soups are awesome. Rochelle and Indy are doing a great job. Staff is quick, helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. I eat here all of the time.

OK, these guys have a turkey hoagie that is unbelievable. It's real turkey and it has killed my appetite for getting that slimy lunchmeat style turkey anywhere else. And here's the thing - it's $5! Every day they have a $5 hoagie deal - it really is the best deal I've found in downtown Wilmington. Just don't go there right at noon - the line is typically out the door. They seem to be addressing that with a third cashier which has helped a lot, but if you don't like waiting go there before 11:45 or after 12:20.
