My brother-in-law and I decided to surprise my sister for her birthday (05/09) by taking her to The Melting Pot for dinner. Our reservations were for 7:00 and we were seated promptly by the hostess. Since we told the hostess that this was a special occasion, we had the option of including a "package" deal to our meal. My brother-in-law and I decided on getting my sister a box of chocolate-dipped strawberries, which was sitting on our table with a birthday card on top. It was sweet and thoughtful. This was my first time at a fondue restaurant, and I was curious to see what was available. It took a long time for us to settle on what we wanted to eat, and the menu was a little confusing in instructing us how to choose our courses. I decided to play it safe with the food and ordered the Seafood Trio with a Caprese salad, while my sister had the Land & Sea with a Caprese salad and my brother-in-law ordered the French Quarter with a Caesar salad. For our first course, we had the cheddar fondue with small pieces of artisan bread and raw vegetables. Our server, Robert, prepared the cheese fondue for us and was extremely friendly and helpful in explaining what to order and how to cook our food. He also made my day when he asked me to provide ID after I told him I wanted a lemon berry mojito. Thanks Robert! The food was very good, although I think Robert may have placed the burners on a low setting, as it took a while for the sesame and tempura batters that came with our meals to heat up. Fortunately, since my entree came with pieces of salmon, ahi tuna, and shrimp, I didn't have to wait too long for the food to reach the consistency I liked. My brother-in-law, sadly, was very impatient and kept taking out his beef long before it was close to medium-done. I enjoyed everything I had; the salmon tasted as if it was sushi-grade, and the tuna was encrusted with sesame seeds and had a tangy sweetness to it. The shrimp was..well, shrimp. Not much to say other than it was good and I ate it. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Cream Pie, which was heavenly. We dipped strawberries, marshmallows, banana slices, brownie bits, and pretty much everything else on our dessert trays into that glorious pot of melted goodness. The one downside to this place is the pricing on their menu. I get that The Melting Pot is unique and offers food to patrons in a way few American restaurants would prepare, but it just seems unnecessarily high. Nevertheless, I loved my first visit here and I would definitely come back for another special occasion.

Expensive and mostly nasty. If you must, must, must have fondue and you're too lazy to make it yourself (which is a much better idea and more productive whether you're trying to please the kids or put the moves on a date) stick to the chocolate.

I would have to say this restaurant earns it's 5th star through the efforts of the wonderful staff. I took my wife here for her birthday, she'd been before and had raved about the place, so it was a sure bet from the get go to please her. The restaurant is dim and moodily lit, with a sedate atmosphere with vibe to match. We were quickly seated in a back booth, ensuring absolute privacy for an intimate evening. I loved it, as I am a huge fan of such a peaceful dining experience. I'm sure other people love a lively atmosphere, but I am not one of them. Once seated, our waitress quickly and professionally detailed their offerings and made suggestions based from an obvious depth of knowledge about the dishes they served. Starting with beers, we began with a pot of Spinach and Artichoke cheese dip. It was nice seeing our waitress prepare the fondue tableside, with speed and purpose she had it done in no time. Of note, the veggies were crisp and fresh and went well with the fondue. We were served small salads in between the cheese and the main dish. In a world of monster salads it was kind of refreshing. I had the ceasar, and it was quite tasty and fresh. When the meat arrived for the main dish we were given a quick tutoring by the waitress and we were let loose. On the plate were dumplings, two types of steak, chicken and shrimp. We were served 6 different sauces, making for a fun evening of mixing and matching flavors. Potato were provided on the side, but even after a half hour in the pot they were still firm. Ending with chocolate creme pie fondue really topped everything off. The various desserts for dipping all paired well, and the waitress really pleased my wife when she lit a candle on a piece of pound cake for her birthday. I was very pleased with the service, it definitely met my expectations for the cost ($$$$).

Thank you to our waiter Ryan for an amazing experience!!! He was very funny, intuitive, and explained the whole process along the way. Probably the best wait staff I've had in my life. Our meal was over 2 hours and we never felt rushed out or neglected. My mom was in town visiting so we decided to finally try this place out. I've heard people complain its super expensive but the two of us dined for 67 dollars (before tip and tax free in Delaware). We enjoyed unsweetened iced teas and then the four course pairings. Cheese fondue, spinach almond bleu cheese salads, then we each got our entrees. I had the duck, sirloin, shrimp, and pot stickers while mom had the filet, shrimp, and chicken. We ended with the chocolate fondue. We had no clue we would be cooking part of the meal so that was a lot of fun. Kind of wish we had more broccoli than potatoes in our pot but that's ok. I am so excited to return soon. Going on a Sunday evening kept it quiet, a nice ambience, and a lot of fun.

I have eaten here a few times over the years. First time = cool, different Second time = cool, I know what to expect and can watch others fumble thru it. Subsequent visits = OK, but kids get a kick out of it. Quality of product would be 4 star. Service 3.5, long gaps and empty cups. Quantity for price 2. Staff interaction 4.5. All and all fun thing to do with the kids once a year.

The Melting Pot is a very fine restaurant which seems to be more about the unique experience than it's actual food. While the salad, dessert and cheese dip are very flavorful, the entree itself lacks a define taste and comes across particularly bland. The price is relatively expensive, however you will be full after the meal; and for the amount of enjoyment you get from cooking your own food, I'd say it's just about worth it. Oh, and be prepared to spend about 2-3 hours there depending on the meal you get. Below is my meal and rating. Appetizer: - Fiesta Cheese Dip: this dip had a little kick to it and worked very well with the sides it came with. (4.5/5) Salad: - California Salad: Very flavorful! However the blue cheese was a bit overpowering taking away from the other flavors within the salad. (4/5) - House Salad with Tangy House Dressing: Perfect! The tangy house dressing was very original and thoroughly enjoyable. Entree: - Surf and Turf & Steak Lovers: Both very bland but come with many dipping sauces. The best part was the mushroom/cheese pasta bites. Dessert: - The Original: This chocolate peanut butter delicacy was mouth watering and extremely delicious. Highly recommended!

I have been here many times over the years. Most recently with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. The service is fantastic, as is the fondue. I requested a Banana Berry Betweenie drink which is no longer on the menu, but the bar will still make it. We had the 4 course experience with the MOJO broth, the cheddar cheese fondue, and the Flaming Turtle fondue. I have also had the cookies and cream, bananas foster, yin & yang, pure chocolate, and chocolate s'mores. It is always fantastic and fun to do with a date or a friend!

The melting pot overall experience was very good. I think the key to really enjoying this restaurant is bringing some great friends! We had the four course meal. We had the pleasure of having Jackie serve us. Jackie was very knowledgeable and provided excellent suggestions when asked. The food quality was excellent. The main course meats were very well marinated. The fondues were excellent!

My husband and I went for our anniversary last year and we had so much fun!!! We are going again for our anniversary this year and I can't wait!!! The dessert was my favorite part!!! They brought you a ate with bite size cheesecake, rice crispy treats, chocolate cake and marshmallows that we dipped in a chocolate peanut butter fondue!!! It was AMAZING!!! Can't wait to go on Thursday!!!

We went there on 7/19/14 for dinner. The prices have increased however, the portions decreased in size. We left very unsatisfied and will not be returning.

My boyfriend and I went to celebrate our anniversary at Melting Pot. We had reservations and barely had to wait. Our server was friendly and attentive, but did not hover. He helped us pick out a cheese that both of us would like, as well as a good bottle of wine. We got the Wisconsin cheese pot, which was delicious, and our server made it perfectly to our taste, even adding some extra cheese because he thought we would like it better that way, even though he was not supposed to. He did not pressure us into the full meal, but let us pick and choose what we wanted with no "guilt trip" like I have had at other restaurants. The atmosphere was great, although there was a very loud table of young women nearby, but that could not be helped. Our server even gave us a discount because it was our anniversary, and did a great job helping our night to be special. A little pricy, but worth it!

LOVED IT! The spinach artichoke cheese fondue was amazing my boyfriend and I practically scraped the bowl clean. We did the four course meal which was definitely a lot of food but definitely worth it and everything was to perfection. Although it is quite expensive there is nothing wrong with the price if it's for a special occasion. A word of advice, it takes a long time to get through the four courses, make sure you do not get there too late (8pm) or you'll be there till closing

Experienced racism here! Our equipment at our table was faulty, we told the waitress multiple times, she refused to do anything about it. She cooked fondue on a burner that wasn't hot, it took her 10 minutes to cook the cheese, and managed to spill it everywhere. When we tasted it, it was cold. We had been there 40 minutes already and hadn't eaten anything, waiting for the burner to work. I told the waitress that we were going to leave, because it was too late to start all over again. She asked us to PAY for the bottle of wine we had ordered, which we didn't drink because our stomachs were empty. I told her NO, and asked for the manager. The manager took 5 minutes to walk over, we already had our coats on were about to walk out. She never introduced herself, so I don't know her name, but she was short and had blonde hair (I tried calling the restaurant back after I left, and not to my surprise no one answered the phone). All she offered was to move us to another table with a new server, never apologized and started asking me questions about what happened. I told her that multiple times I said the burner wasn't working to the waitress, and also had asked for her (the manager) to come over earlier, which was ignored. She yelled at me and said 'I JUST FOUND OUT NOW' and when I finally was fed up with speaking to her, I just said 'We're leaving' and she retorted with 'DON'T CAUSE A SCENE HERE' At that point I walked out. I didn't see anyone else being treated the way we were by the staff, we were the only people of color there, so unfortunately I am left to believe that they were treating us differently due to our nationality. It was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had, and I was humiliated. Regardless of how patient my family and I were being, we were treated as if we had done something wrong. I will probably never go to Melting Pot again, which is unfortunate. Really saddened by this incident, and surprised at the lack of training their staff and manager has been given.

Had a lovely double date fondue experience at the Melting Pot on a cold Saturday evening in January. Reservations were difficult to secure, so try to book them as far as you can in advance. The staff was helpful and frequently checked on us. We each did the full shabang and had the cheese fondue, salads, meats and chocolate fondue at our table. All was wonderful. We selected the fiesta cheese fondue but cannot remember what we chose for our meats. Our server made the recommendation though and we were quite pleased. Dessert: OMG! We got the chocolate turtle and it came with a variety of treats to dip (pound cake, fruits, rice crispie treats-WHAT?!) super yummy. They have a variety of cocktails and wines. Our pregnant friend even got a delicious non-alcoholic "cocktail" that was super good! I think it was a berry lemonade with muddled sage (which her husband tried with alcohol as this is an option too). Great for a fancy dinner when you can swing it OR great if you do just the cheese and chocolate fondue for a girls night!!

Let me preface this review by stating that I LOVE CHEESE. Obviously a popular fondue restaurant would be a natural fit, right? WRONG. As I eagerly walked through the doors of this highly touted cheese-lover's mecca I was greeted by the smell of mildew, skunky beer, and cleaner (trying to cover up the heinous scent). It reminded me of the smell of a fraternity house basement on a Sunday morning. The food was good/mediocre at best, and the service was friendly, but a little too casual for my liking. The decor was dated. But most importantly, the cost was outrageous when taking into consideration the product they put out. Needless to say I will not be going back. The smell of the place was so bad that I'm not even sure I would go back for a comped meal. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, WASTE OF TIME, and $$$. Worst part of all is I really wanted to like this place.

Sure the Melting Pot is kind of expensive but it's fun. Meals here always last well over 2 hours which is something my friends and I enjoy. While the portions never look huge on the plate when it comes out we always leave stuffed to the gills. The dessert is by far the best part and worth going to just for that. The dessert martinis are also always good and pricey ($8-$10). I'd recommend the Melting Pot for any "special occasion" or reason to splurge. It's not especially fancy but a perfect spot for a casual date or night out with friends.

The truth is, come on, you know what you are getting in to coming to the Melting Pot. We took my mother-in-law here for dinner last night and we had fun. The food is not very good at all. But you don't come here for the food, you come for the bonding and fun of sharing and cooking together, right? I passed on the cheese fondue since it was kinda icky to me, and had the mediocre salad. I enjoyed boiling my own bites of food (although I ate my shrimp, scallops, and salmon at a patient-less medium rare) but didn't really enjoy their taste. (red wine isn't a great flavor to poach salmon in) And finally, as someone else mentioned the dessert really saved the whole meal because was quite good. We got the straight dark chocolate. Go once, maybe for a party. Don't go starved or in a hurry. You'll have the experience in your book and never go again.

Made reservations for a Monday night at 7:15. I used the Open Table App on Android, but still had to call the location because the app wasn't working properly or I couldn't figure out how to set the time for the reservation. I personally am not a fan of going to a restaurant and paying to "cook" my own food. But, my wife loves it and says it's good food and she loves it for the experience. Well, you do get an experience. I have been to The Melting Pot before in King of Prussia about 7 years ago (wow that was a while ago.) So I am going to compare from my experience there. If you have never been to the Melting Pot before, be prepared keep a stop watch or your phone with a timer nearby. You can easily under-cook or overcook your food if you aren't paying attention (especially if you plan on drinking). Atmosphere: 3/5 The location we sat in was a secluded corner, but I could EASILY hear the conversations from three tables next to ours. Some people were discussing some private things and I'm sure they wouldn't have wanted us to hear. The decor is dated and the place looks like they haven't updated it since it opened. I'm guessing early 90's. I understand that this is a unique venue because you have a pot of BOILING OIL on your tiny table, but please do something about the rest of the place. It felt very much like a chain restaurant with the way it looked and the wait staff's uniforms (dress code). Staff: 4/5 The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable of the product. We unfortunately ran into a couple of items we ordered that they had run out of during the weekend which is understandable. I had spoken earlier in the day with someone requesting a particular bottle of wine she said they had. When we got there, there was no bottle and the waiter was asking if we wanted to order wine. Not until I told him we were supposed to have a bottle there did he find out it was because they ran out over the weekend. He explained that the girl I spoke to earlier in the day should have checked. The other issue was that when I talked to the girl earlier in the day I asked if they could do anything for my wife's birthday that would be special. The girl informed me that they have Chocolate Covered Strawberries you could buy. I though that would be great to take home after dinner. Our server upon finding out about the wine mistake reassured me that they have the order in for the strawberries, but said so in front of my wife. I was supposed to be a surprise to take home. No big deal. Food: 5/5 The food was amazing and the portions were just right for two. My wife did a great job with cooking both her food and mine as well. It is a lot of food for two so come hungry. Everything that I've had there is fantastic. I don't think you can order the wrong thing. Price: 4/5 The pricing for the food there is appropriate. I would only rate it 5/5 if I believed we got more than our money's worth. For a bottle of wine, 2 full "Four Course Experience" and the Chocolate Covered strawberries we spent $125. This I believe would be comparable to the same night at the Cheese Cake Factory. It's really not as expensive as some people believe. All in all it was a great experience. I was just disappointed about the wine and the strawberry surprise.

Went to the Melting Pot to celebrate my daughter's eleventh birthday and had a great experience overall. When we walked in, there was a little confusion with our reservation, and the hostess was of only nominal help. Once we got to our table, however, the evening was a delight! This is one of our "special occasion" destinations and my daughter's personal favorite. The food is good, but it's more the experience we enjoy. It's something different, and that adds to the uniqueness of the evening.

I was invited to attend Girl's Night Out with two friends last night. For 35 dollars a person, how could I say no? I have to admit, the last time I was here, I thought it was a little steep, but I did enjoy my meal. It's just funny that it is so expensive to cook your own food. Anyway, our server was very nice, explained the Girl's Night Out menu and continued coming back to make sure we were okay. We started with the Spinach and Artichoke dip, which was delicious. I find it weird, though, that you get raw veggies with it. I had a house salad, which was pretty standard salad bar fare, but the Melting Pot topping that they recommend you put on it was awesome. One of my co-diners confessed she has one at home. For dinner, we cooked our meat, seafood and veggies in bouillon. The ravioli were so good, too, but tasted Mexican, not Italian. For dessert, we had the flaming Turtle. It was good, but a little too sweet for me. I would definitely recommend coming back if you are looking for something a bit different. I would also recommend you come back for Girl's Night Out - otherwise, it can put a hurtin' on your wallet.

You can't ever go wrong with fondue! The last Tuesday of every month is Girls Night Out and typically you get 4 courses for $35/person. This doesn't include drinks, but they always have specials. True, its a little pricey but totally worth it. If you're not looking for a ton of food and want to save a little cash, you can always do "cheese & chocolate" at the bar.

I have been here twice now. Not much can be said about fondue food since I don't have another to compare against. It is kind of romantic if you feed each other especially the Chocolate fondue. I found cooking the main meal okay but the Chocolate dessert the real appeal. It's pricey!!! Make sure you go on a coupon special if you do!!!

Me & my girlfriend had dinner here for our 1st anniversary. The food was awesome! The service was awesome! Definitely looking forward to going back! The only drawback to our visit there was that they stuck his right next to the back door and it was very cold outside.

Visited the Melting Pot for a birthday dinner and had been there before a very long time ago. The food was great and our waitress Sarah was awesome. My only complaint would be our reservation was at 8pm, we showed up a 7:45pm and was told that was had to wait for our table and that we could have a seat at the bar until our table was ready. Normally I have no problem waiting...especially at the bar but this time as soon as we sat down and ordered drinks our waitress came to seat us. I had asked them to send our drinks to our table, which they said would be fine. After waiting at the table for 20 minutes the drinks finally arrived but were the wrong ones! Reordered the drinks and still had a 15 minute wait till we got our drinks! This seemed to be a re-occurring problem because every drink we ordered took forever to arrive. Even the waitress had commented on how slow and inaccurate the bartender was. Besides a bad bartender and the woman seating us telling the whole table that she had been working all day and how tired she was everything else was great! Melting pot, keep up the great food and great waitresses but train your bartender better!

I must say that I am biased as a former employee of this Melting Pot. However, I loved working there and loved the food and atmosphere so much I have been to other Melting Pots all over the country. The Melting Pot is a great date place and is also fun for groups. People sometimes bring their kids which might not be a great idea since eating a full meal can take 2-3 hours plus you have raw meats at the table so you need to listen to your server and follow the cooking/eating guidelines. Raw meat and small children is not a good combo. The Melting Pot, in my opinion, is not really suitable for children. Back to the important stuff, the food: I love it all. I always find myself incredibly stuffed midway through the entree but I always order chocolate and take it home (it reheats lovely). Whenever I arrive and look over the menu I think that maybe I should skip a course so I can have room for the chocolate course but even their salads are awesome. I love the veggies that come with your entree, especially the mushroom caps with their green goddess sauce. Oh, so good. Eventhough I can make everything they serve, a great perk from working there is the ability to make great fondues, I still love to come here with my husband or a group of friends for a fun relaxing night. Please, as a courtesy please tip your servers well for a job well done. This is not a typical server job and since they spend so much time at each table they don't get many tables and it really is a skill to time everything just right.

This is a great place to go for a special occasion (especially if you want to justify the cost). It's not just a restaurant it's an experience. You get to cook your own food and pick your combinations of appetizer, dinner and desert fondues. Everyone has always been friendly and met our needs. This is an anniversary tradition for us!

The Melting Pot is to good food what Sarah Brightman is to opera. With that said, if you're under 30 and looking to impress a date, go here; you will make with the sexy-time. If you're over 30, you should know better.

Always a fun experience. Melting Pot a fun theme restaurant where Fondue takes center stage. I lived in Switzerland when I was younger, the birth place of fondue so when I first found out about Melting Pot years ago I had to give it a try. I starting going to the one in Baltimore and now frequent the one here in WIlmington. I wouldn't call the food or the service fine dining, but it is still a fun interesting atmosphere for something a little different. Cookie-cutter menu that hasn't seemed to change in 10 years. Pick your oil, pick what you want to fry in that oil and then be ready to sit a few hours for the full experience. If you haven't tried it then go for it because fondue is awesome.

Believe it or not, I had NEVER been to a MP before last night (Mother's Day) but I had read the menu, reviews and my brother and his wife love it there - so I kinda knew what to expect. I completely agree that this is the kind of meal you can only have a few times per year. Great for kids (they love to dip) and if you are younger and not as jaded makes a good "date night" or special occasion place. They try to make it dimly lit and faux-mantic in there! (LOL.) It was PERFECT for Mother's Day - and our server, Amanda (who has been at this location for 11 years) was terrific. For $40 per person ($20 for el kiddo) we got the "whole shebang" and even upgraded our dessert dippers ($4.95) to include a slice of (mediocre) cheesecake and frozen cream puffs. not sure we'd do that again. Also the salad (Caesar) was unimpressive. The cheese and chocolate fondues were the best parts of the meal (would ike to see better veggies for dipping - we only got celery, carrot and cauliflower - would love to see broccoli, sugar snap peas, bell peppers.) Court Boullion was very salty - but tasted OK - definitely imparted flavor to the potatoes and mushrooms. Meats varied from delicious (Shrimp & Filet Mignon) to boring (Chicken) to not very good ("Ahi" Tuna - who BOILS tuna?).. We'll return - but not right away. I would go back just for dessert - or they now have (but not all the time) a $20 deal for Cheese, salad (yawn) and dessert. Or maybe just dessert? Oh - and the "Parmesan crusted pine nuts" in the Caesar salad were NOT parm crusted - they were downright candied. Tasty - but not what i was expecting.

Quality food and worth the price. I've never disliked anything from here and I've been here at least ten times. I love everything on the menu, from the salads to the desserts. You can come here for an anniversary or even for a fun time with your family. The last time I was here, our server was really weird. I think he was new because I didn't recognize him. He forgot to bring us water three times (literally, three) and actually brought out our cheese fondu before we received water in the first place. Needless to say, I was on the brink of dying of thirst the entire two hours we were there. But other than that, yum!

The melting pot is one of my favorite restaurants. I went to this location for the first time last weekend, as both of the Philly locations were booked due to restaurant week. I have been to many different melting pot locations and have found that the quality/service is always great across the board, and this one is no exception. My boyfriend and I were seated promptly at our reservation time in an nice, intimate corner booth. For anyone that hasn't been to the melting pot, you typically do 4 courses(cheese, salad, meats and dessert). Dining here really is an experience. Cheese Fondue: We're boring and just went with the cheddar fondue, but there are a lot of other cool options. Dippers with this include two different types of bread along with some fruit and vegetables. It's so good and you need to try and not fill up here. Try the apple in cheese! Seems like an odd combination but it is delicious. Salad: I got the caesar salad. Salad are fresh and high-quality. I love the nuts that they put on this salad. Meat: This is the part where you cook your meats in the fondue pot. I always go with the standard cooking oil. For the meat combination we went with the classic which includes: shrimp, pork, chicken, & two different types of steak. All amazing. They also give you a bunch of sauces that go good with different types of meat. My favorites are the teriyaki steak sauce and the green goddess. Dessert: The chocolate fondue is incredible. No matter how full I am, I always still seem to have room for their dessert. We went with the "yin & yang" chocolate fondue, but I have tried basically all of them and they're all amazing. You get various dippers like: strawberries, brownies, marshmallows, pound cake etc. All of the food here is top notch. Some people aren't as crazy as I am about the melting pot and I really can't understand why. The service here was great, our waitress was super friendly. They are happy to explain everything to you and always check up on you. For drinks, I would recommend the love martini, delicious and strong(in a good way). For 2 people we paid a bit over $100, which I can't complain about. Well worth the money!

Love this place. Its a little pricy, but you get a great amount of food for what you pay for. I love the teriyaki beef and lobster tail the most. We always ask for extra mushrooms because the mushrooms cooked with gorgonzola sauce are to die for. This time around we also paid extra for cheesecake to dip in our chocolate and WOW it's so worth it!

I just went to the Melting Pot for the first time today and I must say, it was amazing! My boyfriend and I chose the 4 course option on this visit. In my opinion, if you are really hungry or with another person, the 4 course option is great because you share a cheese fondue and a desert pot for about 40.00 per person. The service, food and atmosphere was amazing! This place is definitely on the pricier side of things, but it is worth every penny!

The only thing that was "melting" was my patience. It took us nearly THREE HOURS from being seated to the moment we walked out. It took about one hour after the appetizer for the entree to come out. I think I even took a short nap at one point. Given how small the entree was (about a dozen small 1 inch pieces of various meats and seafood for $25), I actually would have walked out about as hungry as I walked in. What saved the meal from disaster was the dessert. Dark chocolate fondue with strawberries, bananas, and a variety of sweets like brownies, rice crispies, cheesecake and marshmallows really saved the night. The staff seemed truly apologetic and took care of us, and that plus the dessert earned them the one star from me. If you are with someone with whom you can chat for hours and don't mind food arriving occasionally to remind you that you are actually at a restaurant, then this is probably the place for you. If you like to "oooh" and "aaah" with each dipped piece of bread into mediocre fondue and pretend that you are actually enjoying your meal to impress your date, this is also a good place. I just prefer the novelty of a great and satisfying dining experience and be able to come home before the sun comes up.

Really? What more can be said about the Melting Pot. I've always found it a bit spendy for a place you have to cook your own food, but if you've got the cash, and want a quiet place that you can spend 3 hours over a pot of boiling oil with your favorite person, there are definitely worse choices to be made. My husband is a fan, and he's taken me here several times since we've been married. It's always cheesy, meaty, tasty goodness. My one recommendation is, if you make it to dessert, definitely ask them to put some Bailey's Irish Cream into your standard chocolate fondue...oh yeah...

Normally I am not big on chain restaurants, but I tried The Melting Pot this month and I absolutely loved it. The bartender was witty and had a great sense of humor, the waitor was absolutely fabulous. The food, so good!! They had a lobster special where it was only about $90 for a full course meal split between two people (came with a salad for each person, an appetizer fondue, a meal, and the dessert), I definitely recommend this place for couples due to the intimate atmosphere, but there is plenty of room for large paries as well.

I love fondue- that and the service are the only reasons this place gets 3 stars from me. For the amount of food you get and the quality and considering you cook it yourself, its terribly overpriced. I reccomend going for dessert fondue on a date after eating dinner somewhere else! That's probably the only time I would go back here and honestly presto is about the same price for that and open later so I'm not positive about that. Corporate chain restaurants seem to have lost their appeal.
