Takeout Taxi is a great way to be lazy (or if you're honestly too busy or without a vehicular means of transportation). There are many restaurants available on their website for the delivery. They tell you who's open and closed for the time you want the food delivered, and if you have any problems or whatnot, just give them a call and the employee on the other line is happy to help. Got Italian (Tutto Fesco) delivered from here twice. First time, I forgot to add the tip because they have a "suggested tip" on the page, but I'm used to the suggested tip being put as the tip unless you want to change it (since that's how Seamless Web does it) so I clicked the "OKAY" button before realizing that I actually had to enter a tip. So, one quick phone call later and the tip was entered, problem free. One minor complaint I have is that the website is kind of gaudy. The main delivery taxi website is a very nice muted brown with elegant lines and nice font. However, if you choose Delaware as your state, it goes to this ugly blue-ish background w/ blue and purple lettering... It's not awful, but it's also kind of off-putting in how badly everything clashes. Still, a great option when you opt to have food delivered at the click of a button.

Q: What do you do when you're too tired / lazy / drunk to pick up dinner from your favorite restaurant that doesn't deliver? A: You pray said establishment has a deal with Takeout Taxi. Takeout Taxi is like your best pal who will bring you food when you're too [fill in the blank] to get it yourself. How awesome is that? Their delivery drivers are solid, upstanding guys who are full of gratitude when you use their service. You can feel good giving your cash to these chaps. Their delivery fee is only like $4.95 or something, which is totally worth it (and then some) to me. When you use their online service for the first time, they'll ask that you give them a quick call just to confirm your order-- this helps them keep prankster dumbassery to a minimum. You only have to do it once, and it takes two seconds. Seriously: Use them. Tip them well. They deserve it.

Be advised that delivery times are longer than stated. Delivery drivers are great, but the customer service from the office location is terrible. I would not recommend using this service.

I almost found love. After a very sad realization that there is not Eat24 in Wilmington, I googled Wilmington DE delivery which led me to this very yelp page so I gave it a try. It goes a little something like this: 1. Enter your zip code 2. Choose a restaurant from a list that is open on the left hand side 3. Order (some have minimums -- my minimum was only $10) 4. Confirm order and pay 5. Call and confirm your order Easy as pie. I love pie. But this was more like cherry pie. I don't like cherry pie. And scene. My order total was $16.36 including a $3.75 delivery fee and a $0.66 credit card processing fee. No problem. However, I get a standard AmEx "card not present during transaction" email, and I see that I was charged $21.27. This is a different of $4.21. That's not cool, people. At this point, I DEFINITELY wasn't going to call and complain, because I don't want them to spit in my food. When the delivery woman gets here she's confused about it as well, and recommends that she just take the $4.21 as her tip. WORD !? I didn't have the energy to call AmEx and dispute it but the food that they delivered (Charcoal Pit) was UNBELIEVEABLY GOOD so whatever. I wouldn't order from here again. If you do, pay cash.

While I'm classifying this as "A-OK", I can't give a full five stars because of the exorbitant prices. Way, WAY high prices.I tried this place over the weekend after arriving at the oh-so-harsh realization that Wilmington is grossly void of restaurants which make deliveries.. Want pizza? Chinese? Tough luck if you live anywhere near where I am, (just outside of downtown, on Brandywine Park). I found TakeOut Taxi. Delivery was quick, service was friendly and fast when I called to speak with them to activate my online account. I've been living in Manhattan for a few years so I know what to expect for the cost of take out, but TakeOut Taxi prices gave even ME sticker shock. An order from a local restaurant, (no fancy steak place or anything like that) was $49 plus tip. Yes, I knew the total when I made the order, but I was hungry and basically locked in over the weekend so I figured what the hell. Still, $60 for an entree', one can of coke, an app and a slice of pie, (did I mention I was bored) was simply too much. I realize TakeOut Taxi has to charge you for the food AND delivery, but other, more successful services do it for much less. Perhaps they can charge these rates since they're the only game in town but I can't recommend this service unless you're extremely desperate and/or without transportation. Even with gas prices at their highest, it's STILL less expensive to drive than it is to order from TakeOut Taxi.
