Gritty, edgy kinda place, which was perfect. Even willing to overlook the sound system issues (sorry now that I didn't wear earplugs.. Ouch!) Not willing to overlook two rude employees- the female photographer who endlessly pushed her way in between and in front of everyone (the other photographers weren't doing this, so when she shoved her camera into my boob and said,"I *have* to do this, I didn't buy it one bit. She just has bad etiquette.) The other employee that was totally unnecessary on this particular night was the pole "dancer" who decided to take up a good ten foot by six foot portion of space in front of the performer to kick out a sloppy running man (we're still doing that?!) and step on everyone 3 or 4 times, pretty damn hard. Everyone was glad when she left and we had room to get closer and enjoy the show without her strange antics, which included putting her foot up on the stage to tie her shoe, and store her belongings on the stage steps, all while the performance was still going on.

Mojo 13 has the livest karaoke party on Tuesday nights, hands down! Many local and national acts have graced the Mojo 13 stage, so if you want that "rock star" feel while belting out your rendition of "Sweet Child O' Mine" this is totally the stage to do it on. The experience will be a memorable one to say the least. It's hosted by "Karaoke Champs", KJ's KB and Gentle Jones. They start at 9pm and the party goes on non-stop until 1am. They boast an extensive catalog of songs to choose from ranging in rock, pop, punk, reggae, new wave, dance, hardcore, metal, disco, salsa, merenge, broadway, rap, hip-hop, R&B, soul, oldies goldies and today's top hits. The bartenders are friendly and will pour you a cold one without breaking your wallet. You're probably wondering, what's the big deal...it's just karaoke. Au contraire, mon frere! Karaoke Champs hands out a shiny, golden trophy for the most rockin' performance of the night. Talk about karaoke bragging rights. So do you think you have what it takes to win the trophy, or just looking for a fun place to hang out with friends? Then Tuesday nights at Mojo 13 is where you need to be.

Cheap drinks, amazing bands. What more could you ask for in a concert venue? This place has become my favorite concert venue! One gets to see the same bands they would see in a large 1000-10000 person venue but with 100 or less people. The stage is only a few inches from the floor and due to the small size you don't have a bunch of security goons between you and your favorite band. The lack of a dressing room also serves to keep you close to your fav band members as they will be hanging out drinking in the same tiny bar as you! Parking lot is pretty small but plenty of parking on the adjacent residential streets.

We drove up last night to see God Module after buying tickets online. Not sure what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. Totally dead when we got there at 9pm, didn't really liven up til 10:30ish. JA pegged the crowd - cool, but not holier-than-thou cool, once there actually was a crowd. Staff was all great, including the bouncer that had to get rid of a stumbling zombie drunk going around bugging people for cigarettes or some crap. Would definitely go back if I saw tix to another act on my bucket list. Parking lot was miniscule, was really glad we got there early to grab dinner next door.

Got nothing against anyone's musical or cultural preferences... have a good time people... but does Claymont need to look worse than it already does? Get rid of the scary clown face on the building... just makes the neighborhood look run down, dirty and dangerous.

I love me some Mojo 13. Wilmington needs more places like this. Sideshow freak, bring it on! In the main section: a nice-sized bar, with a chair swing hanging from the ceiling with a huge furry spider wrapped around it. (How do I get one of those for my house?) Joey H. nailed it when he said the drinks are served up strong. Ask the bartender to surprise you; she will rock your socks off. Up the stairs is a pool table and a car from a kiddie carnival ride. Rock! If you need to hear yourself think, this is the room to hang in; though it might be a little snug if there are folks playing pool. You'll survive. Mojo's gets 1000 extra points for having at least one pinball machine on the premises at all times; best of all-- they're usually in good shape. Seeing bands and getting my drink on is a huge draw, but playing some Cirqus Voltaire or Champion Pub really makes me slappy/happy. I love the artwork on the walls and tables in the stage area-- all with a sideshow freak theme. LOVE! The stage looks great; has a wonderfully gritty feel. Any band looks 2 notches more badass when perched upon it. I've played there as well as spectated (is that a verb?). Their sound system leaves a bit to be desired, but after a drink or two you don't mind as much. If you're sensitive, bring earplugs (I do!); what they lack in sound quality they make up for in volume. :-) Moral of the story: Go there, especially if you are a freak and/or geek. You will be welcomed.

People are cool without the 'holier than thou cant talk to you' cool. Fun. Bar staff has an eye to the crowd needs all the time. they keep em coming. Atmosphere = edgy freak show. Elbow room available. For bands: ridiculously easy to set up and break down in. Do bring your crowd. Get there earlier for easier parking.

ah, mojo 13. it is what it is. for bands: we play here often and it's always a great time. owners and bartenders are great. don't expect to get paid much, if at all. you never know what kind of audience will be there too. for everyone else: bartenders are great, good selection of beer, be prepared for anything goes, but it's mostly safe.

Rediscovered my DE roots and went to Mojo with some peeps. Cool, laid back atmosphere- freakshow is right, good bands. Mojo is a good place to go with a group of like minded friends and listen to some good jams and drink a few.

If you''re in a band, don't even consider booking at this place!!! The beer was good, and the pool table was fantastic, but the audience is not included w/ your show and that was never made clear when I called (there were 3 extra people there) which seemed kind of crazy. I mean who doesn't tell you how many people show up regularly? Crazy people, that's who. The staff were kind of grumpy, which I don't understand, because in this economy people should be happy just to have a job, which means they are probably crazy. Which didn't exactly make me comfortable, you know, being served beer by a crazy person. And they also charged for admission. ADMISSION!!! I mean, who charges for admission, it's just an entrance fee. Isn't that crazy?

No, no, no! Horrible! I went once, I will not be back. It's a wonder that more than four people fit inside the place!

Its a place where you can be yourself and enjoy a good drink with a scene rarely found in Delaware. The place is actually larger than it appears from the outside. Its far from fancy and one of the few spots I can go to avoid uppity, hipster, folks bragging about their beemers or newly acquired vinyl collection. note: if youre an old school vinyl head who truly appreciates the sound you only get from vinyl then I have no qualms with you... ;-) Staff have always been friendly and provide good service. Drink selection is not the widest, but the bartenders make a good drink and, when I want beer, the drafts are cold and tasty. Nice spot to hear local metal, punk, other harder bands and sometimes even local hip hop. They have had some big names, but the stage is small and the bar is not conducive for huge crowds. Enjoyed a few nights when they had multiple bands playing. Their Thursday nights with Asylum 13 are a fun time too with DJs playing a grind mix of industrial, goth, trance and alternative music. Definitely an interesting place to say the least. I enjoy it here.
