Stopped in on a Sun night since right up the road. Had a few questions for the waitress. 1. Which she liked better-french onion or cream of crab. she said she didnt like french onion so didnt know but cream of crab was really good. she was correct. it was delicious! it had little pieces of red pepper which added a nice flavor. i would give the soup a 4. Then i asked if the turkey was fresh turkey or lunch meat. the waitress didnt know and didnt offer to find out. response was "i think it's fresh" but was very hesitant in saying that. so needless to say i ordered something else. went wiht the gyro. waitress asked what kind of bread i wanted it on??? i have never seen a gyro on anything but a pita?? wt?? gyro was okay. fries were good. crispy coating kind. bf had ital sub which was suprisingly good for a diner. waitress was really nice and provided good service. just not familar with the menu i guess. We would go back if we were lazy and didnt fell like venturing out too far which was the case last night.

Usually a good breakfast, large portions, good service. Today my feta cheese omelet had very little cheese, in fact I wondered if there was any cheese at all. Also, asked the waitress if there were any specials, she said no. When we left, saw 4or 5 specials on the board. Asked for a second cup of coffee, it never came. Just an off day, perhaps. Never had a problem in the past. I hope it's just a one time thing.

This place has amazing food and good prices. The "small portion" of biscuits and gravy is huge and delicious. Honestly the french toast was pretty lame but everything else I've had was great (omelettes, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham, wheat n white toast, waffle etc) the service is really good and the servers always keep up with my coffee and boyfriends soda! Definitely a great place to go for breakfast anytime of day!!

Just wanted to add two things to my previous review: 1) They're now open 24 x 7. Rock! 2) If you like french toast, this is your place. Best in town, no question about it-- even better than Lucky's (hard to believe, but true). They add a teeeny touch of OJ to the batter, and MAN that's some tasty eatin'.

The Marsh is just a great, solid diner! The food won't surprise you, but it will always be prepared just right - the best diner food in the area. The prices are great, portions are good, and the service is always friendly and efficient. Don't be afraid to try the non-standard food on the menu! By this I mean things like lasagna, scallops, meatloaf, etc. The "mini-meals" (which are not mini at all!) are a great value and they are always fresh and flavorful.

French toast & scambled eggs Standard-fare breakfast Timely service Food taste like food Coffee taste like coffee Nothing special here. Who gives 5 stars for normal tasting food? Not me. 3 is normal, 4 is special, 5 is exceptional. This place is average.

I'm really not a big fan of the Marsh Road Diner, but it's very close to my house, and the rest of my family likes it, so I get dragged there pretty often. It is "ok". Certainly not "good". I can understand why my family goes there though - the good places (Lucky's on 202, and Meghan's further down 202) are a bit of a hike - but really, it's worth 10 more minutes in the car to get *much* better food. Their hollandaise sauce has a very unnatural, odd color - and tastes ok when it's on Eggs Benedict - but try it by itself, or on something else, and you realize that it's wrong. Very wrong. I'm sure it came out of a big sysco can somewhere. I'm giving this 2 stars because even though I don't like it much, the alternative if you want to go to a diner in the Bellefonte area is Jimmy's, and I'd take Marsh Road Diner over Jimmy's any day of the week (Though, if it's a time of day that they're open, I'd take Bellefonte Cafe over any of them) Pictures from some of my times at Marsh Road Diner are available here: thisiswhatimeating.com/t…

Diner. Let that sink in please because a visit to this plain, not fancy diner will have you pinching yourself. Why? Because besides all the diner staples they think outside the box with their nightly specials which usually number 4 to 5 entrees - All of which include 2 veggies or a salad and dessert for very reasonable prices. My honey moved into this Bellfonte neighborhood recently and with 5 nights of unpacking on our plate we visited Marsh Road Diner for breakfasts and dinners and a lunch or two. Not being a cook he has enjoyed this so much i see him eating dinner here a couple of nights per week. All of these meals were reasonably priced, homemade with nicely sized portions and served with smiles and checkbacks to see how our meal was going. This place is family run and the pride shows in the quality of the meals and the good service. I live 25 minutes away but this place will definitely stay in my diner dining circle.

Sometimes I wake up and a coffee from Dunkin is good enough. But some mornings, I wake up and I want a diner breakfast. And today, that diner breakfast was at Marsh Road as it was close to where I needed to be. Simple, low cost, easy, diner food. At least for breakfast, I have no idea what they have the rest of the day. I had a broccoli, tomato and cheddar omelet with hash browns. And that's what was brought to me, but goodness was there a ton of it. The menu says "three eggs" but this had to be closer to four. I'm a big boy and I eat a lot, but this was a very large portion. And a lot of potatoes with it. And very very tasty. I was tempted to take the rest of it for lunch, but who needs that many eggs in a day? Service was good, the gal kept my coffee cup filled up. I would absolutely return to this place.

Good diner with decently priced food. I'd say the best in the area. Try the rice pudding if you go.

Enjoyed my breakfast. Plenty of hash browns with eggs cooked just as ordered. Waitress was friendly and refilled the coffee several times, which is something I always appreciate.

This place is unimpressive. Food is not great and they have the TV in the small section blaring so I can't hear myself think or hear the other TV and I can't see it to watch that one.

We enjoy Marsh Diner we go here at least 2-3 times a month. We have had good and bad experiences both. Most of the time the food has been good can only say I remember one time I ordered the chipped beef gravy with toast and home fries and the gravy was so thick it was little a clump on the toast. And the other time I ordered the same thing with gravy on the home fries. It came out with out the gravy I told the waitress she took it back and came back with the home fries smothered in fried onions. Told the waitress she took it back and finally came back with the correct order. Sometimes on a Friday morning I call In a takeout order for breakfast to take to work and the omelette and home fries order is so large I end up having half for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Now as far as ordering takeout for dinner not the best experience. Hubby went in to get our order came out went thru bag ....needless to say we end up going back in three times because something was missing and even when we got home and opened up the containers they still gave us the wrong items. Now to go inside for dinner the experience is not that bad. Last time we went I had the open face meatloaf with fries and cole slaw. I really enjoyed the meatloaf not only did they give me a huge oval plate full of just the open face meatloaf piled high but it was very flavorful. A lot of places I have gotten the meatloaf even higher end restaurants you get this little slice of meat with no flavor. But they gave me so much I ended up taking half of it home for lunch the next day. If you want a lot for your money and good food and don't mind a few hiccups here and there Marsh Diner is a great place to eat.

I had a terrible experience here. The Marsh Rd diner is absolutely horrifying. My boyfriend at the time went there & I saw several water bugs & roaches in the bathroom & on the walls. Didn't get to sample the menu. Who would want to after seeing that. Lost my appetite immediately!

Wish I came here sooner! Sausage Gravy, Breakfast sandwiches and the coffee are fantastic. Just the place Ive been looking for to have a great meal!

Very good food, Generous portion sizes, and friendly staff. Been here 6 times and it's never crowded (that's good for me) , probably only due to the somewhat hidden location. I would highly recommend it.

im a foodie and i found myself at this location for lunch while my ex's car was getting a new exhaust. And first the soup actually had flavor....it wasnt just chicken stock/broth dump over some chicken an noodles it was slowed simmered actual soup. My spouse got broiled porkchops apple sauce and homefries. She ate 2 out of 3 (which is unusual for her) The Apple sauce was homemade and deelicous. Pork chops were cooked perfectly Milkshake was freshly made with real ice cream and surved in a proper malt shop cup. Service was phonominal also and quick which earned them an additional star....... Definitely a good reasonable place to eat good food

This place definitely isn't fancy but it's a diner, what do you expect? The food is GREAT and the service is quick!! This is my favorite breakfast place within a reasonable driving distance from North Wilmington. That's including the ever trendy "Lucky's" which is always over packed with a long wait and not as many options on the menu. The pricing is decent and the food is yummy and satisfying. I normally get the sausage biscuit meal which comes with homefries. I LOVE their homefries. They are super browned and crispy with some un-crispy parts too. Add your own salt and pepper and they are perfect. I've also gotten the regular egg meals with toast, bacon, sausage, etc. The portions are huge for what you pay. I've also been here for lunch and got a huge burger that was delicious. It was enough food to feed two people and it was less than you'd pay at a TGIF or similar restaurant. Will keep coming back here, again and again.

I have come here for takeout several times and usually get the hollywood salad which is good. I also got a cheese burger and it was ok. I finally decided to eat in. After looking over the menu and seeing that my go to items were a little pricey I decided on the baked meatloaf for 11.95. It came with choice of soup or salad and two veggies. I got fried cauliflower, which was good and baked potato it could have been better. The meatloaf came in 3 nice size pieces with brown gravy on it, no ketchup here, which I prefer, oh well. The meatloaf was ok a little bit to garlicky for me though. The portion size was impressive though. In a nut shell the menu is a little pricey and food is no great not bad just ok. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

I am not certain whether we are all talking about the same place! My husband and I went there for breakfast once. The food was not very good! My Omelette was scorched (Brown) and dried as if it had been burned with an Iron -- tasted like a corn muffin! The home fries were like instant potato flakes mashed in water then freeze dried, then fried hard! It was difficult to get a fork in them. They tasted like fried flour! The pancakes were doughy, and the packaged syrup was bland. The place was cramped, hot and uncomfortable.

I stopped in late one night with a friend as we were on our way home following a Blue Rocks game. The place was swarming with cops so you have to figure the food is good. Well, actually, it was great. One of the best turkey clubs I've ever had. It was just the late night meal I needed. I would stop by again in a heartbeat. If I lived closer, I would make a Blue Rocks game followed by Marsh Road Diner a tradition.

It's not fancy, but I will add it to my list of approved Delaware diners. I reeeeely wanted a turkey club, and I got a perfect turkey club (with cheese, thank you). The nice woman who was our server today took our order quickly, was helpful, and anticipated our needs for refills and a box before we ever asked for a thing. It hit the spot.

Staff seemed nice, food seemed quick and good but im certain after telling her i was lactose intolerant i overheard her and the cook who was sitting outside the kitchen laugh about it. I thought nothing of it, unfornately when i got home i spent the rest of the day sick. Its hard to taste milk in egg white, bacon omelet but being the only thing i ate in the day i know they deleberatly put milk in a lactose intolerant omelet.

Slow service, but really good food. And our server was hella courteous. Wish I could say more, but it's nearly 2:30 am. Come here so it doesn't close. Only 24-hour spot for miles!!

Of all the nights to come in here late at night on the road needing a quick bite, I pick the Saturday night when a group of 30 loud kids from a high school band is in here along with about 10 other customers, and a grand total of 2 waitresses. Most nights, that would be a recipe for a disastrous experience. Luckily I got my order in before the kitchen got inundated with the band's whole order so service was good and quick for me. Kudos to the waitress for getting my order in under the gun. Those waitresses tonight hustled like no one else I have ever seen. I just kept watching them work since I sat at the counter. They even managed to be very nice to me under trying times. The management of this establishment should know that on this particular Saturday night / Sunday morning as I write this, their waitresses are kicking ass and deserve a raise for their work tonight. They also make a pretty darn good French Toast and eggs. It wasn't special, just prepared right, which means not too much egg batter in the toast, and just enough powdered sugar to make it interesting. Ambiance-wise, it isn't much. It's basically a roadside place. There was at least one drunk patron passed out on a table as he waited for his meal. But they managed to wake him up in time to enjoy what appeared to be a really tasty looking breakfast sandwich. To me, having a drunk guy passed out at a table actually adds character. It was worth the late night splurge even with all the screaming band camp kids. I hope band kids tip well.

There are many foods that I enjoy at the Marsh Road diner including there soups. I have also had some major disappointments. I had ordered the fried clam strips and they were sent out so burnt that the breading had fallen off and the dark sticks were presented. I sent them back and they sent out another batch that was way over cooked. This shocked me that the product was served in that condition and that they had no idea how to properly cook fried clams that are a regular menu item. I have had the full gambit of staff from extremely friendly to those that would rather not be there. There prices range up to about $16 so you can find something in your price range at any time (24 hours).

I went to Marsh road diner on a Thursday afternoon since it was close to work. The place was just OK. I came out of the place feeling weird in my tummy. The service is not good at all. My friend had a chicken salad sandwich and it lacked any flavor. I had a broccoli and tomato omelette and it was just acceptable. Would not go to Marsh Diner again.

Crabcakes are amazing. And now they are open 24 hours. Prices are reasonable. I went with my mom once, and we both got breakfast and it cost under $20 total. The previous restaurants at this location never seemed to last long, but I'm hoping and praying that Marsh Rd. Diner is here to stay.

Food is decent, service is horrendous! The breakfast is the only reason to go here, great value for your money! If you stick to weekends service is better! My wife and are go twice a month!

Before I begin this review I want to reiterate that - as my tag line suggests - a vegetarian eating my way through Wilmington. My reviews are only going to based on what I CAN/WILL eat. Therefore....this place is just OK. I really only have a few options if I don't want to go into a carb coma and none of their salads "speak to me" enough to try them. I find that I have two options at the Marsh Road Diner - Jungle wrap and an assortment of egg dishes. The Jungle wrap is a big fat no because it is lost. Every veggie that you can cut is stuffed inside a tortilla that makes the wrap too big for me to even bite into and enjoy. The egg dishes on the other hand...are tasty. I do enjoy them. They are well made diner-style egg dishes that include omelets and sandwiches with a gigantic side of hashbrowns. The hashbrowns are usually a little bland so ketchup is a necessity. If you go to the Marsh Road Diner you will get fast and friendly service. The waitresses there are very busy because the place is usually packed with your usual diner crowd. You will get a lot of the above 60 crowd along with families. The Decor isn't anything special but then again I don't think you are going to the Marsh Road Diner for any gimmicks. You are going because you are hungry and you know what you will get when you are there - a fast meal with no clean up (for you). Do I go back a lot? No. But I would be lying if I said my mouth didn't water once every couple of months for a Marsh Road Diner egg dish.

Located just 1 mile south of Interstate 95 on Marsh Road (Exit 9) is the Marsh Road Diner. A fabulous greasy spoon at the intersection of Marsh Road and Philadelphia Pike (US 13). Pretty sparsely decorated interior, with standard booths and table set-up. No points for style, but people come here for the food. We arrived at 12:30 pm for lunch and the place was crowded. Their parking lot was crowded as well. Comfort food is their goal. Decent servings kept the place humming. There were people coming in constantly during our 45 minutes there, with no one really waiting more than a few minutes to get seated. They turned their tables quickly. I ordered the Reuben Melt. It was served open faced with lots of sauerkraut, chopped corned beef, russian dressing and swiss cheese on top of rye toast. Totally yummy. The french fries were so crunchy and wonderfully delicious. They even serve breakfast until 3 pm. Credit cards are accepted, but only for tickets more than $10.00. My meal? $7.50.

This is nothing like the NJ diners I grew up with, but the food is good, the prices are fair, and the service is friendly. The set-up and atmosphere inside is a little odd, but it's clean and comfortable. We haven't tried the Marsh for lunch or dinner, but we really enjoy breakfast there. Delicious french toast. And my son talks about the egg, bacon, & cheese sandwich like it's heavenly.

Nice simple diner is the best way to describe Marsh Road Diner. We have been for breakfast and late dinners. Breakfast is quick, tasty, and priced just right. This place is perfect because we can simply walk to it. Service is always friendly. If you are looking for a simple diner, reasonably priced food, and good service, this is the place.

This is Baby and mine's go-to breakfast spot on Sundays when we want a solid satisfying breakfast nearby and don't want to take the time to drive to Buckley's in our PJ's to get half-price brunch. (We used to go to Jimmy's Restaurant but we both find it a little off-putting and the food just OK.) The menu is standard diner fare but all well-executed. Baby's favorite is the Route 13 Special which is a pork lover's dream - two eggs, french toast, a pancake, bacon, sausage, and pork roll plus juice and coffee. That will keep the hunger pangs away till dinner. I've had the waffles, french toast, and pancakes (regular and banana walnut) and never been disappointed. Service is always good and you can't beat the prices.

I had the french toast and crispy bacon. The french toast was ok. Nothing to write about. However the "crispy bacon" was microwave bacon! Bleh
