Terrible service!!! I usually never complain but 20 min to get drinks? 45 minutes to get pizza? This is a pizza place and they should be cranking these things out. We got one large cheese pizza and it took forever. Worse part is the waiter didn't even check on us. The manager did comp the bill, but I can tell this kind of problem happens all the time here.

If you've never had this pizza you are surely missing out. Grew up on Grotto's down in Rehoboth Beach, even after we stopped going to Rehoboth Grottos was a short ferry ride over from NJ. Glad they have this location close to Pennsylvania, it helps me cure my cravings every once in awhile. Definitely worth the drive for me. I only ever get Take-Out so i can't comment on dining in, but the staff always seems friendly. Hands down best pizza I have had the pleasure of tasting!

Was there for lunch today. Personal Pizza was good as well as the side salad. However service was subpar. Waiter took my order after a 10 minute wait. After serving my food he never came back to check on me. Had to ask manager for my check. Won't eat in restaurant again-always will take out from now.

Decent pizza but not great. I guess I'm just used to a different style. I had the "veggie bianco" which is a thin crust with roasted peppers and olives and cheese but not tomato sauce. Tasty but greasy. Service was good, but the noise in the restaurant from the kids and the television was offputting.

The atmosphere is very casual, and the place is bigger than it looks. Gelato is available for those who have a sweet tooth, though I did not try it. The wings weren't bad, as was the pizza. The french onion soup was recommended, though nothing spectacular there either. Overall, just a decent food bar menu/pizza kinda restaurant. Half price apps after 10pm in bar area.

This was our favorite pizza for years... would drive to DE just to get it or stop in after a movie. The last time I picked up two large plain pizzas and poppers ($29, with half off one). Four jalapeno poppers were $5 (rip-off). Everyone who had pizza this last time commented that it is not as good as it used to be and thought this last order was actually terrible. It used to be delicious, couldn't wait to go to Rehobeth Beach to get some and I was so glad one opened closer to home. At one time I would have given Grottos 4-5 stars. Probably won't be getting it again anytime soon after this last time. Too expensive not to enjoy it. Complete waste of time and money. (At least at this location!)

Best pizza in the world. I grew up eating Grotto as kid, especially down in Rehoboth. Every Time I'm in Delaware it's my first stop. Large pepperoni with extra cheese! You won't be disappointed if you love pizza.

Their pizza is good. The sauce is weird to me but I like the food. There's nothing I can say that's bad about their food. It definitely tastes good in a buzzed / drunk night.

Good, greasy, basic pizza - a little expensive for what it is. Plus they sell gelato, subs & salads. I had a single slice with spinach (very good spinach topping by the way) for $3.25 to go. BIG parking lot and a large bar.

I USED to LOVE grotte pizza as a kid. They were unique to only maybe 10 locations on the East Coast, mainly along the beach. As theyve grown, theve gotten WORSE, tastes more like chuck e cheese pizza then anything else. Its also INCREDIBLY overpriced. I ordered take out for 3 once, my bill was $59. Havent gone back since and likely will noy

Grotto's Pizza is mainly popular in Delaware, being I haven't seen one north of Delaware. This wasn't in my original plans for means of consumption, but I have had them before. Well I guess times have changed along with the quality I remember of past. I have been to several of their locations little further south of Delaware, closer to O.C. Maryland. I had raved about these guys to my cousin at one time, now that we came in I / we were disappointed. While sitting waiting for our waitress we were taking in some of the dishes coming out. It didn't have that same presentation from the past , from what I remember. We had decided to opt out on getting a pie seeing that didn't look to appealing and go with calzones instead. Myself I went with the "Grotto Calzone" and my cousin went with a "Pepperoni Calzone". First my calzone the sauce they use wasn't up to par, a little to acidic , and an absurd amount of cheese , it was more of a over grown hot pocket basically. The "Grotto Calzone" is supposed to have meatballs in it, sliced with ricotta. Well with the amounts of cheese they use you could barely taste any ricotta along with the few slivers of meatballs inside. My cousin's once he bit into it ,was a shot of grease like you wouldn't believe. I and I am sure we all know pepperoni forms an oily residue once cooked, this with the amounts of cheese it was like a pocket of grease. YUM right ! Makes you want to go get a scan at the hospital, ask to see your arteries , look for blockage. This being a chain joint you figure every one is on the same page , same ingredients, same quality. I think with the umpteen years I haven't had them recipes have changed. That is something I am not a fan of, now it is mediocre to just "Eh whatever" phase. The one good thing about this location is they have a bar, with a pretty good selection to go with. I highly doubt I will be returning back here or to any of their other locations. If it has changed that much then they need to go back to the basics.

Pizza tastes like cardboard. The "legendary" wings are anything but. They were greasy, fatty, and mushy. I ordered the Blue Hen Lemonade and it tasted like rubbing alcohol, but I basically had to down it to finish my meal. The service was fine, though.

I got to say, this is the best I came acroos for pizza in this area. I can only say this is because I haven't found any other place yet. I haven't recieved any greesy pizza yet but I find this pizza tasty. The sauce is just right but the crust could use a little bit more time in the oven. I need that crunch and it needs to have a thinner crust. I like the fact that it is a good family place and has a good sports bar. You can come here with friends or family to watch all the games. They also have gelato and subs, both are good too. I'll keep coming here for my pizza until I find something better.

You may refuse to believe this one simple and undeniable fact: Grotto's pizza is the best pizza on the planet. I don't care where you're from or how much of a pizza snob you are, if you do not agree with the above statement you are wrong. Plain and simple. That being said, I will eat Grotto's pizza in any environment. Even Wilmington DE. Was the restaurant dirty? Yes. Was the wait staff creepy? Absolutely. Does any of that matter? No, because the pizza is AMAZING!

Mama Mia, mushy pizza! Yeah, a bit too much sauce on some of their pizza but the crust is yum and they offer a variety of pies. Good pricing also.

I used to eat pizza here as a child and hadn't been here in probably almost 10 years...Decided to take a random trip down memory lane with a friend and we weren't sure if it would be as good as we remembered. but.... the pizza is still good! too bad it's all the way in delaware!

OK, let me qualify the previous reviewer by quoting her: "In fact, I hated pizza for a long, long time." Only a communist could HATE pizza...C'Mon! How can she possibly be reviewing a Pizza joint???Anyhow, this is quite possibly some of the worst pizza in the area. I've had worse, but Grotto's (rhymes with Grosso's) really ranks up their with some worse of the worse. And I know MANY in Delaware who would agree with me. I am somewhat of a pizza snob and believe that good pizza must...MUST be cooked in a stone oven. Grotto uses a conveyor belt in all of their operations. They certainly had much better pizza back in the 1970's when they were a 1 shack operation on the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach, but as soon as they institutionalized and corporatized and started dumping new sites on every corner in the state, quality went right down the tubes. If your out for pizza in Delaware, then save your money, you'll really need it if you eat here cuz they are WAY over-priced. Take your business to any of the mom and pop pizza joints around the area and make sure you check for the classic stone oven (it's stainless steel and has the door that pulls down in the front), or better yet, a wood fired oven.

I can't believe some of the reviews I am reading. Maybe these people live too close to a Grotto's so they don't know what they've got. I drive out of my way to eat here whenever I can. I love the super thinly sliced peperoni with the sauce on top. Easily one of my favorite pizzas anywhere and yes I have had good New York pizza many times.

The only time I get this pizza is when we're visiting down in Wilmington. I found it to have a great taste. The crust is a little thinnner than I like but the sauce has a good spicyness to it, and they don't go overboard with the cheese. My kids seem to like their sandwiches, too, but their pizza is really the reason to go.

The prices are high and the pizza tastes like it came out of the microwave. Just about any $6 pizza from Acme is better. I don't understand why people here like this place so much.
