Pretty good hotel. Better than the Downtown Doubletree - this one is much newer. Nice bar. Gym is minimal but clean and not too crowded. Rooms are not huge but are good for the price-point.

The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. You can't pass one of them without a friendly greeting coming your way. The suite was equipped with microwave and fridge, both of which worked well. The shower was WONDERFUL! Talk about water pressure, it almost knocks you into the wall. My only complaint is the bed and pillows. They're just too soft. I must sleep with a bi-pap machine due to apnea. This kind of forces me to sleep near the edge of the bed. I had zero support close to the edge. Kept feeling like I was falling out.

When I stay in Delaware, I always stay here. Like any Hilton chain, breakfast is not included unless you have worked out a deal with the hotel/bought a package or are at a certain tier level in their rewards program. The 'continental' breakfast is 10.95 and the full is 14.95. Even though I always go for the full, they usually charge me for the continental :) Internet is also free, even though they tell you to get free wifi you need to book via their website. The rooms are pretty nice - they offer rooms with one king bed (these rooms have a stand-up glass shower) or with two double/queen beds (not sure which size they are). These rooms come with a regular tub/curtain shower. If you use the HHonors app to manage your reservation, you can check in online and choose your room ahead of time, which I really like as I prefer to stay on the first floor. Note: I once tried to pick the rooms in the 150-155 block, and was warned not to choose these rooms by the managers. Apparently you can smell and hear the pool directly below - they get a lot of complaints about this. The location of this hotel is good. If you want to brave the large road, there are several chain restaurants within walking distance, and the second largest mall in Delaware is next door. That being said, it's still not a very large mall. The fitness center is TINY which is my big complaint about this hotel. There are only free weights, 2-3 elliptical machines and 3-4 treadmills. I wish they had some stationary bikes.

Quiet and clean, this is a quality hotel in the Hilton/Doubletree chain. As a Hilton HHonors Gold level elite, I was offered the opportunity to choose my room before checking in, and that choice was honored. Upper floor, corner room, so it was especially quiet. A long list of good stuff here... Firm, comfortable bed. Good coffee/tea service. Excellent hot water pressure for "rush hour" shower. Enough outlets at bed side and on the work desk. Window shade made the room quite dark. Very soft towels and plenty of 'em. Plenty of parking. Great location - lots of restaurants and shopping very close by. Wifi worked well. I did not make use of the fitness room, the pool/jacuzzi, the television or the hotel restaurant. My only complaint is that the elevator was slow, but right now (January '15) they are in the process of upgrading it. I would stay here again!

What a perfect stay! I wish I could say I was there for pleasure, but I stayed to focus on graduate school finals and papers with no distractions. I was accommodated the moment I walked in the door. I was greeted by the manager, who escorted me to the front desk where I was given a delicious warm cookie. So good. Such a nice touch, too. The room was just incredible. OMG so beautiful and so comfortable. I slept so well -- much better than I have in the past year or so. The mattress was new, or near brand new, from what I was told and I think it was memory foam. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet in the bar area. I was expecting some cereal and stale bagels. Eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage ... you name it, it was there, including a cold station with yogurt, granola and fruit. The service was amazing, too. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.

Always a really good consistent experience between courteous service and clean and comfortable rooms. Another plus is they just recently remodeled.

I wouldn't stay here again. I was excited to stay at a Doubletree for the first time, as I had heard good things about it. From the minute I walked in, it was a disaster. The lobby was packed and the people were LOUD--yelling, laughing, etc. The poor gentleman helping me at the front desk had to come around and stand right next to me and yell in my ear and I still could barely him. I didn't see any of these famous chocolate chip cookies that this hotel is supposed to be known for, so minus one star for that. The elevators were super confusing and there was an extreme lack of signage pointing us to the right one, so we ended up having to take two super slow elevators to get up to the 7th floor. The room was nice and updated, but we were right by the ice machine (which is not tucked away at all--it's directly out in the hallway) which was especially noisy, including late at night after the bars closed and people were making drinks in their rooms. People continued to be very loud out in the hallways late into the night. I should have called the front desk to complain, but I didn't. I couldn't wait to leave. They don't offer any kind of free breakfast like some of the other Hilton-owned hotels do (Hampton, Homewood Suites). Next time, I will just pay a little bit more to stay at Homewood across the street and get a bigger, quieter room with a kitchenette and offers free breakfast.

Loved staying here! Staff was always friendly, and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy! Pool was heated and hot tub was lovely. Breakfast buffet was nice to have and was tasty! Love that you can grab to go boxes for breakfast if you don't want to drag the whole family down. Shopping around there is amazing! Marshall's is great!!!

The food at the restaurant is something that locals need know about. Coming for just a meal is worth the trip

We stayed here for one night on our 13 Northern States road trip conquest to Maine. This location was very convenient because it was close to things we wanted to see in the city. We were on the upper floors and the views across the city were incredible, we loved the ambience, furniture placement, and that the room had plenty of space to relax. The room was squeaky clean with a lovely bathroom. The staff were all helpful, professional, and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend anyone!

Have stayed here for 4th and last time. At 5:00 am there begins the horrible sounds coming from the walls every time someone turns on their shower - a very loud swooshing noise making it impossible to sleep. Unless you are a very early riser. Stay elsewhere.

I checked in a Fri at 3:40 PM was greeted by an extremely friendly concierge who allowed me to check-in even though check-in time didn't start until 4 PM. The room was a little small, but very clean, and I was happy/surprised to see a microwave- which is a really nice perk. I was also glad that they were able to accommodate my request for a room away from the elevator. They offer a great hot breakfast buffet- all you have to do is give your last name when you walk into the restaurant. I didn't get to check out the mall across the street from the hotel but I hope to next time I'm back in town. Especially since there is no sales tax in DE. :)

We had a corporate event nearby and many of our employees stayed the night prior at this hotel. They were very accommodating in the restaurant even though our large party were the only ones dining and they were close to closing time. Booking the rooms was easy too. The sales department was really helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. The front desk even stored our luggage the entire day we were at the event even though we had already checked out. Very pleased with our experience here!

This hotel is in a good location close to the business and social gathering places of northern Wilmington and Chadd's Ford PA. The staff all proved kind, with the bartenders pouring healthy pours and the front desk staff efficient and attentive. The property is in disrepair with my sink's cold water knob turning but no water coming on, the tiling looking aged if not out of style, there is a particularly small gym where you must swap sweat with people on one machine to get onto another, and two of the three treadmills not working. My room was comfortable and am picky about pillows and they had adequate pillows. They have well designed the outlet layout so when you iron you actually have an outlet near the closet! The internet was steady and faster than most. The hotel was also clean.

The room is clean and the beds are comfortable, but the internet could be the worst I've ever experienced at a hotel. The connection is consistently under 1 megabit per second. If you're looking to get any work done, look for another hotel. If you're looking for a comfortable bed and nice staff, it's perfectly fine.

I know it is their thing but I love that there "thing" is warm chocolate chunk cookies. I just wish they greeted you with cookies everyday lol. This is my second stay at the hotel, and I came back because their rooms are great the service is excellent. The restaurant in the hotel is decent, for a restaurant in a hotel. I ordered a burger the other night and the multi grain bun was not multi grain and the burger was drastically smaller than the bun, so needless to say the QC is not as great as it could be. Beyond that the temp of my burger was perfectly mid rare. The gym although fairly small, it certainly suits my needs, and the location is great, close to restaurants an shopping

I booked several rooms at this hotel as it was a brand that I knew and it was convenient to the area I needed to be for this trip. Upon arriving at the hotel I was greeted with a smile by a wonderful front desk staff in what looked to be a nicely appointed front desk area. Unfortunately this seemed to be the high point of the visit. Upon arriving well after check in time, I was informed that the suite that I had booked for my father was not ready. Not a great way to start off the visit to bury his mother. Add to that I was not given all of the extras that I had paid for such as breakfast coupons which I had to argue with the staff about over the phone about once I got to my room. As I met the rest of my family for dinner the first night my dad started telling me about the experience he had just had in one of their 2 elevators. Much like other hotels one of the 2 guest elevators doubles as a service elevator and has 2 openings. My dad and one of the building engineers got onto the elevator and the doors closed and nothing happened. The engineer made a remark about how old the elevators are and that the hotel was having big problems with them. He them proceeded to kick the door of the elevator door several times saying he was trying to get it working. He then pressed the button to open the door and closed it again while kicking it a couple of more times.... Needless to say my dad ended up taking the other elevator up. Once you get up to the actual rooms they are what I have come to expect from the Double Tree although the walls are in need of some new paint and one of the elevators has carpeting in it which looks like it was stapled down to the floor by someone with a desk stapler. Overall the hotel shows it's age as the building has been around since my dad was a teen and it shows in little ways. Air Conditioners that have obnoxiously squeaky belts, hallways that are marked up and scratched, and showers that have at times little to no water pressure. It might be time to retire the old building. Every place gets to the point where the age shines through no matter how many times you try to cover it up. This place is getting pretty close.

Very friendly staff. Check-in and check-out both went smoothly and quickly. It really is a beautiful hotel. My friend had rooms blocked off for her wedding, with reasonable rates. While we did not utilize the shuttle service, the hotel's location off of 202 gives it easy access to the highway. The only downside was the location of my room: it was adjacent to the room of people attending some sort of Convention in the hotel. Sunday night, when I was exhausted from the wedding, some of the convention attendees decided the room next to mine should serve as the kids room for the evening. That was annoying, but, by no means the fault of the hotel. Best part: warm chocolate cookie upon check-in. Seriously, how does it get better than that?

Ok... I won't be spending the night here until July when it's time for Mallory and Pierre's wedding, but we were able to tour the grounds and speak with an events planner - Amanda and Erin. I blocked off rooms for the wedding after being shown all the different options - standard, double beds, queens, junior suites, bridal suites, and even brunch facilities! The staff is amazing, the rooms are beautiful, and they even offer transportation to Waterfalls!! The pool is indoors and looked very nice, too! I really enjoyed the tour and am so glad that we'll be staying in such a nice venue!
