We returned to Wilmington for Saturday evening dinner on our weekend trip to the Nemours mansion and New Castle. Always eager for seafood, the restaurant of choice was Big Fish Grill on the Riverfront. We were seated outside on the patio facing the Christina River and the Riverwalk path. The late July evening was very pleasant. The moderate temperature and humidity made for a most enjoyable ambiance for dinner. I ordered the Key Lime Pepper Florida Grouper from the daily specials while my wife ordered the Fried Scallops. My grouper came over a shrimp risotto and grilled asparagus. All delicious! We shared a slice of Key Lime Pie for dessert. Big Fish Grill offers daily specials as well as a regular menu ranging from fish varieties to crab cakes, clams, and oysters and scallops.

Happy hour was very good. $5 apps and $2.75 beers. Decent liquor specials were $4.75. We tried the bruschetta, it was awesome. The tempura cauliflower with bacon queso and tilapia fingers were very good too. We weren't so impressed with the entrees when we had them. They demand top notch prices but offer mid quality execution. Our oysters were shucked by an amateur.

What an experience! Was 15 minutes past my reservation & the hostess greeted me & gleamed a no worries smile & demeanor. She confirmed my patio preference, handed me off to the Seater, who sat me at a nice size table in view of the man made pier & waterfront. Then comes Charlie...the server of the year. He was so specific with the menus, yes there was two & he literally broke them down from appetizers, to the entrees, to the specials & sides. He was very proactive about the items of question for my consumption with returning promptly with the feedback. Charlie presented the wine & beer menu with ease, making it a quick selection for a bottle of my favorite Malbec...Alamos. I order the Smoked Salmon for my appetizer...very fresh & delicious. The 1st order had a condiment made out of dairy & mayonnaise. As quick as he sat it down, he picked it back up & had another one prepared for me. For my entree I had the Caribbean Jerk Crusted Gulf Tuna with Papaya-Mango Salsa, on top of stir fry veggies & island rice...FANTASTIC taste! By far a great feast, phenomenal service & a nice outdoor ambiance. Still amazed that Charlie was new to the floor as he delivered great serving skills like a veteran. Wil-Town aka UofD....not bad!

My New Favorite Happy Hour Spot! If you LOVE SEAFOOD, GREAT SERVICE, and EXCELLENT APPPETIZERS look no further! Big Fish Grill is on the Wilmington Waterfront. Daily Happy Hour EVERYDAY from 4 to 7 during the week, 4 to 6 during the weekend. I Strongly Suggest the CAULIFLOWER FLORETS off the Appetizer menu. Also, The Lobster Nachos if you'll be sharing with friends. The Pineapple Martini is Awesome, as well as ANYTHING on the Menu. You'll be back, time again. They also have a Great Rewards system for frequent diners. My favorite routine is to order a Dozen Raw Oysters, Cauliflower Florets, and a Meal to share. The Kneves Potatoes are FANTASTIC, as well as the Creamed Spinach. Everything on the menu is great! Service is ALWAYS SPOT ON!! ENJOY!!! CHEF GARY CURRY

I hadn't been to Big Fish for a few years and we were looking for somewhere that would accommodate big parties, with 4 kids under 13. It was for 2 birthdays. I called and made a reservation for 12 people and asked for outdoor seating. I was told outdoor seating was first come- first served. We arrived and I checked in and asked for outdoor seating. I was told- we do not seat parties greater than 8 outdoors (why didn't the person on phone who took my reservation for TWELVE say that?) they proceeded to say- well on a Saturday night it would take too long anyway. Strike 1 We were seated at a long table in a semi-private room. Great- not as noisy. 4 menus for 12 people. Ok- forgivable. 2 waitresses for our table. So noisy- could not hear. Wine selection horrible. $36 for the 6 subpar choices of white wines - all the same price? Again...forgivable. Orders came fairly quickly. Food was Luke warm, of the 12 dinners- not counting the 4 kids, 4:8 enjoyed them. My spinach salad was great. Scallops ok. Vegetables overlooked and over salted. Before dessert, I pulled aside one of the waitresses and pointed out who the two birthday boys were and asked if she could put a candle in whatever dessert they ordered. She said great. The kids all had ice cream included. The two waitresses never communicated because the incompetent other one brought out the 4 kids ice creams without taking our orders and they sang happy birthday to the child and excluded the grandfather. Stupid and incompetent. Strike 3 (not counting some of the disgusting meals). I went to speak with the manager who said- maybe they didn't communicate, I'll fix it. They still didn't take our dessert order and they brought grandfather a pie with candle. The only thing I was looking forward to was the PB pie. After that- the waitress who I had given the birthday instructions to (which were ignored) proceeded to ask- did you want dessert? After the kids were finished ice cream and happy birthday was sung?! At that point I wanted nothing more from this subpar excuse for a restaurant and they are lucky that the gratuity was already factored in. TRAIN your servers. Manager did nothing to make it better. Save your time and money and go elsewhere!

This place was recommended to us and it lived up to the review. Salads wer large and excellent. I had the goat cheese salad, my husband the arugula. We were impressed. Keylime grouper was cooked perfectly and the risotto was out of this world. Our waitress, Chelsea was excellent and steered my husband away from a dish that some customers were disappointed in. He chose halibut and substituted sides. Excellent food and beautiful location.

Big lively place for sure and great seafood. The service was average at best, the table way too small for 8 (and yes we had made a reservation), the wine recommended was mediocre... But the seafood made the day, whether tuna, swordfish, jambalaya everybody loved their food and it was cooked perfectly. Not that much more pricey than Red Lobster but without comparison - they know how to cook fish!

Had the fried scallops and shrimp...yummy!! This was my first time here after visiting the Brandywine Zoo. Perfect for a nice lunch and I really wanted to eat outside so my brother who lives in the town recommended Big Fish Grill. I'll be back since I heard they have a great Happy Hour.

To celebrate Easter with my boyfriend's family, we made reservations here for 7:30pm on Saturday night. I expected shore-style linoleum and plastic, so I was impressed by the classy interior. Rather than being tacky, the giant fish hanging from the ceiling really add to the decor. We only waited a few minutes, and then were promptly seated. The menu situation is odd - the "specials" are longer than the standard menu, and our table of 5 wasn't even given enough menus, so we had to share (this made ordering drinks awkward). Our table was right by the bar, which was super loud, so conversation was also a bit difficult (at least until the college basketball fans began to filter out). Thankfully, my complaints stop there. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions of everything were huge. I went for the "Big Shrimp," which had delicious grilled flavor and came with two large sides. Appetizers for the table, including calamari, tilapia fingers, and mussels, were all excellent. You could easily make a meal out of them, and my boyfriend's parents said they often do. Haven't been to the beach location, but after checking this out I definitely would!

The view is amazing, the food is fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place and I would be back. Kaie was very nice and helpful. If you any questions about the menu you should ask her. She is very knowledgeable and sweet.

Wow! The owner must have given up on this place! I use to talk about this restaurant all the time. As a chef and owner of my own place I am very picky and I liked the fact that the owners and management of Big Fish Grill were also perfectionists, but something has changed! Where so I start? The servers are very young and are obviously not trained well -The bartender had the drinks all confused ( and there were only four of us). Then before you know it they were delivering our entrees and we were still waiting for our apps. To make matters worse - the entree looked so horrible! Mashed potatoes enough to serve a family of four, same with the soggy fries and the fish was so poorly presented that I can't believe I use to call this the best place for seafood in Wilmington. If you don't care about service and you like lot of mashed potatoes then this place is for you. Last time for me

Been going here for a few years now. They never disappoint. My husband took me here for my birthday and it was one of my favorite meals. The fish was very fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was awesome and they made me feel special for my birthday even On a super busy night. Will continue to be one of my favorite seafood restaurants!

Visited while going up for business. Colleague of mine and I ordered the Mussels in White Wine, it was great! Especially with the garlic bread which i had to order another round of that delicious bread to dip in the white wine sauce. I followed that up with the Red Snapper, perfect, perfect, perfect. Their menu was a little overwhelming at first, but I also praise them for it because they have plenty of variety. I plan on visiting again.

I had the Sea Bass in a bowl, I thought it was a bit salty but tasty. Later that evening the food didn't agree with my stomach. My husband had the lobster and it didn't agree with his stomach either.

disappointed! ordered speciality drink while waiting for table, sparkling sangria, so terrible I couldn't drink it. Asked my companion to take a sip, she gave same response. Bartender offered to switch it but still charged me, wine should have been comped. I was excited to see that all fish was fresh, not frozen, but blackened snapper, recomended by server, was dry, overcooked. Bread pudding was excellent. Service was good. all in all, lousy $100 dinner for 2 of us. other resaurants in town

We came to Big Fish Grill on a Thursday evening, with a party of seven. We had a reservation, but there were a few free seats available. Obviously, this place primarily serves seafood. However, the range of seafood offered is really quite wide. The prices here are good, and the amount you get for your money is quite decent. The atmosphere is a little loud, but it's a lot of fun.

What a disappointment. I have had a few good experiences at the beach location, but coming to the Riverfront made me quite sad. Upon being seated, we had to wait fifteen minutes for a waitress to come to our table and take our drink orders. We ordered drinks from the bar... which took almost 25 minutes to come out. Even the waters took a good while. We then ordered dinner. I chose the scallops with two sides- cauliflower rice & green beans (which had bacon and almonds) The scallops were not cooked enough, but the marinade/sauce it had was good. The cauliflower rice had so much stuff in it, I couldn't make out what was in it and what type of flavor I was trying to taste. It was not that great. The green beans were not fresh- they were way over cooked and VERY over seasoned. There should not be half a container of black pepper on it. We were half way done with dinner and ordered a second round of drinks. They never came. Once our plates were cleared and we were waiting for the check, our drinks came out. I turned it away as I had been finished eating for quite some time and did not need it any longer. They took them away but the waitress had such a look of "ugh" on her face. I don't think I will go back to this location and would probably not recommend it to anyone. I would tell them to go to any of the other fantastic places on the riverfront

Amazing specials menu. I couldn't believe the amount of fresh fish they get in daily. The oysters were so good (and they had a couple types to choose from). I had a Mahi with a crab cake on top and lobster sauce with perfectly cooked summer vegetable medley for my main. I would say a lot of the sides are way too rich/fatty/cream based and typically I look for 'lighter' menu features - I may have missed it but didn't see any. Outside seating is great in the not so hot weather. Really a fun night out. Waiters are also really friendly. I had interactions with several and they were all super helpful.

I don't even eat seafood and I still thought this restaurant was great! We were able to eat on the patio overlooking the river. I started with a house salad which was very good. For my lunch entree, I got the 'big chicken sandwich'. There were two chicken breasts side by side on my bun! I immediately put one off to the side to take home. I asked for the sandwich without bacon and they actually gave me a $0.10 credit on my bill! I've never seen that! The chicken sandwich was good. My father got a chopped salad with salmon on it. Let me point out that my father complains everywhere we go about something. He had no complaints and said his salad was very good!! We had a great lunch and I would definitely recommend this restaurant. There was a small issue with the bill and the waitress had the manager handle it without issue. Great customer service! Also let me point out that they have a rewards program that most people overlook. On the bottom half of your receipt, you will see a number to text in to their program. You earn free appetizers, lunch for one, lunch for two, dinner for two once you spend certain amounts at this 'family' of restaurants (Firestone, Big Fish, Summer House, Salt Air).

I had eaten here once before and had an average meal, but my mom was dying to go and we had a birthday pak coupon so we went. Big mistake, the baked Maine lobster with crab cake stuffing had almost no lobster and my tuna (supposedly medium) was so dry with rice so undercooked and dry that I couldn't drink enough water - except mine was never refilled. The only thing worth eating was the salad. This was a second try, the first time was so noisy I couldn't hear my date at all. I won't be back.

. Had lunch there today the service was top notch I ordered the bbq shrimp as an appetizer 5 stars wish there was more on the plate. The crab cakes were good as well as the fries and coleslaw. Worth the trip from the Jersey Shore where I live. I WILL be back

Very cute place with fun decor. Tasty food!!

  • Gavin S.

Food this good at these prices deserves 5 stars. The corn on the cob side was a tasty whole cob, not half, and wasn't the typical waterlogged, overcooked type one normally receives. Wednesday is lobster night, and the lobster nachos were enough for 3 people. The salsa on the side really adds something, so I suggest you just dump it all over. Even without it these nachos rock, with a surprising amount of lobster. Our waitress was super sweet, and while the decor is pushing the seafood theme to the limits, it all appealed to me anyway with details like the varied table condiments and tasteful wood booths. My 1 1/2 pound lobster was awesome with some melted butter and fresh lemon, and the huge bread pudding dessert was enough to share, and served deliciously warm. Outdoor seating is available with a view of the Wilmington waterfront. Philadelphia has nothing to compare to this. It is worth the drive.

Had dinner here with a large party. Our server seemed less than thrilled. Not a word was exchanged with the exception of us ordering. She never came back after meals were delivered to see how everything was. The food was very good. We had oysters and a grilled shrimp to start. I had chosen a rockfish dish and it was superb. Others at the table enjoyed grouper, fried oysters, cioppolino, crab chowder, etc. only person that didn't care for their meal had bacon wrapped scallops and he said the bacon was too overpowering. All in all I would go back again, would just hope for a friendlier server.

This has been my favorite restaurant for over 10 years. But tonight I was extremely disappointed. Sat at the bar and the bartender ignored us and everyone else equally. We ordered a drink then ordered dinner. She ignored us and finally some one brought our dinner. Then we had to flag her down to get our silverware. Then we flagged her down for another drink and finally our check. She could have made a lot more money if she even showed a little interest in her customers. The food is always great so we will go back but she is bar tending we will go elsewhere. Great food and great service go hand in hand. Especially for the $100 we paid for dinner. ( before tip ) We both got two drinks wine for me vodka soda for my husband and a chopped salad with blackened fish each. No sever name on the check.

I had raw oysters, crabcakes, and a salad. the food was very good. the young lady who waited on us was probably fairly new and needed some training but what she lacked in experience she made up with a great perky personality. I like the great airy space that you dine in. There was plenty of room between tables. Very clean restroom. A nice experience!

Great atmosphere and great service. Pumpkin crab bisque was wonderful. Lots of big chunks of crab and a buttery pumpkin flavor. Would definitely have again. I had the fried oyster sandwich which was ok. A good amount of oysters, but not a lot of flavor. Tartar sauce was bland. Hubby had a crab cake sandwich. A lot of crab, but again not a lot of flavor. The smoked fish dip they bring out at the beginning was really good.

Awesome restaurant. All the food was super fresh. We ordered the lobster, filet mignon, shrimp cocktail, and arugula salad. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Well worth the price.

Went here for dinner with my girlfriend. Overall I had a great experience. The food was prepared well and was fresh. The wait staff was good they had good recommendations and new the menu well. The suggested the almond crusted halibut which was very tasty. I had a side of sweet mashed potatoes which were delicious. The entire place was had replicas which I found pretty cool. To see this sizes of some of the dish gives you perspective on how large they can get. The price is about the same as you would expect at any other seafood place. I would definitely return here.

Another good time this time we played musical chairs because we walked in at the height of happy hour, first at the bar then a table in the bar area then out side on the sofa then back in to the bar.... We are a pain in the ass... Rachael is a good spot!

Just went here for dinner yesterday and it was really pleasant. Ambiance is nice by the river front and weather was great by the outdoor seating. They have a big selection fresh fish and I got the Carolina tuna and the server recommended it rare and he was right. Perfectly cooked and the spices for the Jamaican jerk were tasty. Also, they have some specials on the patio for oysters and draft yeungling that were fantastic. Would definitely come back and recommend this place for anyone in the area.

I have never been so disappointed in a Big fish ever. I have eaten at the one in Concordville PA and never had any problems. Today i went to the wilmington one with my boyfriend and his parents... i tried the rockafellar oysters i think is what it was called and my one oyster was super mushy even though it was cooked.... not minding it i still ate it . I also ordered the surf and turf and noticed my lobster was kinda chewy... but stilll good. a few hours after being home i am vomitting constantly. needless to say i have food poisoning....... i never once had an issue at concordville... the server russ was wonderful though and this was not his fault at all i want to make that clear. i think that maybe kitchen staff needs to go in and have a nice deep clean

Just OK... I had the Swordfish, which was cooked good but what they had it paired with didn't really work. No bread in the place but Crackers and Tuna for your Table. Hmm Have an option. I also had a Caesar Salad, but it only taste better when I added some sliced Parmesan. It's an OK meal but there was no wow factor. Now the Key Lime Pie I had for Desert... WOW!!!! A+ yes that was good... taste like my Grandmother Made it...

Just picked up fish tacos and sautéed spinach. Both very good. Fish flash fried with a great sauce, salsa and sour cream. They were very busy really the best place in Wilmington for fish. You can eat outside in the better weather.

My department decided to change things up this year and head to Big Fish for our holiday luncheon and it wasn't bad at all! I had made reservations ahead of time, so the restaurant was ready to handle our group of ten. We had one waitress and she was awesome - wish I could remember her name. She was able to answer any and all questions while making excellent suggestions to the people who needed them. Once we ordered, the food came out promptly. Here's an overview of what I had: Appetizers: Fried calamari - pretty basic but with good dipping sauces Soup: Pumpkin crab bisque - delicious! It was sweeter than I'd like, so I added some sriracha. Entree: Shrimp carbonara with linguine and Brussels sprouts - this was okay, but the carbonara was really lacking flavor. The sprouts were unnecessary - and I LOVE sprouts (I even grew them this year). Added A LOT of sriracha. This was definitely not a highlight of the meal. Dessert: Firstly, a note - the desserts are freaking enormous! I thought the waitress was kidding. NOPE. When you get a slice of cake/pie/whatver - don't think of a typical slice, instead think of a wedge or a quarter of an entire pie. HUGE. I had the chocolate cake. It was dry, but the heaping spoon fulls of ice cream that came with it fixed that right up. My God, so much food. Overall, I enjoyed our meal at Big Fish Grill. The food at its hits and misses, but generally everything was pretty good. Service was excellent! I'll probably go back on my own in the future to check out some of the specials (Monday night oysters, Wednesday night lobster).

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I can't have anything with gluten and anything that touched gluten and not only do try have an extensive gluten free menu, they take care in preparing my meal. The manager even came out to one time to tell me how my food was prepared. Definitely worth the drive.

We went around 4 pm on Monday (very early dinner), mostly for the Monday night oyster specials. I have never been to Big Fish, so here's the highlights of my experience: Parking: Huge parking lot. Ambience: Outdoor seating. The area was clean and a walking trail is behind the restaurant. You can also see a little bit of a river. Food: Crackers and Dip are provided instead of bread. The dip was delicious. I am a huge oyster fan and initially ordered the Chef's Choice and Oyster Rockefeller. Unfortunately, the server couldn't tell which raw oysters were which. But, I did manage to get him to find out the best ones in the mix that were from Prince Edward Island. They were the freshest and sweetest oysters I've ever had. So, naturally I ordered another 1/2 dozen of the Prince Edward Island. The Oyster Rockefeller was pretty decent. I also tried the Jalapeño Lobster Bisque, which had a bit of a spicy kick to it. Service: Good service. Our server was very attentive. Ending thoughts: If you are in the mood for seafood, definitely give Big Fish a try!

Ms. Winchester and I went to Big Fish, down by the Riverfront. Luckily I left early, because I a) got lost, and b) Siri might still be mad at me. I think my language offended her every time I missed a turn. Immediately, what I liked about it was the size inside - meaning how tall the ceilings were, the exposed beams, the dining area and bar being whole separate parts. We sat in the bar area at a table, probably one of my favorite places to sit - proximity to alcohol always a win - and our waitress/bartender was nice and sweet. We started with a grilled shrimp appetizer - wait, who am I kidding? We started with martinis. For the first 45 minutes. The grilled shrimp appetizer- simple and perfectly cooked (not chewy or still raw, though I may not have had a problem with it), and you could taste the shrimp. For my entrée, I had jambalaya and a side of Brussels sprouts - which I still don't like. I just can't like them! But the jambalaya was very good - spicy, so be aware of the sausages. It can take a few bites and then a few breaths to recover from those few bites. I don't normally like rice, aside from fried rice from a Chinese food truck, but luckily there wasn't as much as I had feared. This was also really good the next day. I ordered lobster nachos and pan grilled shrimp to-go for Mr. V who ate the shrimp right up, and then the nachos the following day. A really good thing was that they packed each ingredient in the nachos separately so the chips didn't get soggy. I don't know if that's a common thing - I don't order to go often - but I thought it was a good tidbit to know. Second date success!

My father, husband and I tried this place the other day. We've never been there before. I was in awe over the decor and the high ceilings. We were seating right away and our waitress was great. The Greek salad was light and fresh. I ordered the soft shell crab dinner with two sides. The potatoes were good but over salted. Husband ordered the jambayla. He stated it tasted good but needed more heat. Dad ordered the lobster and enjoyed it. We didn't have enough room for dessert. Our dinner was more than enough. My only gripe would be that we waited a little longer than average for our dinner but it was worth the wait. We will go again.

Stopped into Big Fish for a bite with my folks after a show. It's large and definitely headed towards "chain" in design and service approach. Still, the food was quite good and appeared to be fresh. The wine and beer list was comprehensive, and the iced tea good. I had the clams in diablo sauce for starters, which I definitely recommend. For my entree, I had the swordfish on a portabella mushroom. The presentation seemed a little hokey, but the fish was good. Actually the mushroom was good, too, but stacking one on top of the other just seemed trite. There's a patio out back with a nice view of the water, which would be great in warm weather. The windows along the side of the restaurant are too high though, and obscure the view of the river from the interior. Why did no one think of that? They also have a raw fish market where one can buy lobsters, oysters, etc. to take home and cook. So over all, Big Fish is a much better choice than Joe's Crab Shack (which shares a parking lot and is merely a reheatery), but don't expect a gourmet approach to your meal.

Came here for Happy Hour on a Friday with 2 friends. Haven't been here in almost 2 years and remembered they had great HH appetizers. It was VERY crowded, but we were able to grab a table at the bar fairly quickly. However, service was EXTREMELY slow. Sat at the table for 20 minutes, and were about to go up to the bar to order before a waiter finally came by. We ordered the pineapple infusion martini for $6, and many appetizers. The grilled shrimp skewers, the bruschetta, the tilapia, and the filet bites are all fantastic and were 3.95 and 5.95. The shrimp were big and juicy, and the filet melts in your mouth. The bacon gouda flatbread pizza was just ok, gouda on pizza is weird, and my friend said the clams were just ok. Will definitely be back for the other apps! Big Fish would get a 4 if service was better!

So good! A break from the road on our way to Baltimore. It's huge and there was no wait on a Friday night . Yaaaassss! Seated promptly, nice hostess and waitress. Food was fantastic! I had the cream crab soup and crusted coasta rica tilapia. The beau had shrimp and crab fettucini. It was all yummy! Now back to this road trip

MAfter seeing a play, we were looking for a place to eat. An ad in the Playbook suggested this restaurant, so we went. Great decision!! We initially ordered an appetizer of fried oysters, but they were out. (The server informed us after taking our order and returning.) We then opted for the bourbon shrimp. The shrimp was slightly overcooked, but the Thai Glaze sauce compensated. We ordered the sirloin and shrimp, spinach salad, mixed grill plate, and big shrimp. The medium rare sirloin came medium well. The shrimp for all of us was overcooked. Everything else was good!! Our server was good, but could have paid closer attention to our requests. The atmosphere was pleasant and spacious. The location offers a nice place to walk after eating. Would definitely return to this location.

I'm walking along the Riverfront as I'm writing this and I'm thinking how disappointed I am in my experience at this place. To start, I ordered the pecan crusted halibut, which comes with mashed potatoes and a side of your choice. My wife ordered pan seared scallops. The halibut was extremely dry and tough, which tells me that it was overcooked. My wife was pleased with her scallops, but everything else that accompanied her scallops were lacking in taste and quality. After voicing my displeasure in the halibut, I ordered the crab cakes, which were excellent. Overall, the crab cakes and the scallops are great at Big Fish. What's not so great are the sides, the halibut and the fact that they hide certain deals from you. For example, kids eat free if adults order an entree on the day the local minor league baseball team is playing. When our bill came, we had to mention the special in order to get the discount. That was unacceptable considering the huge sign outside of the restaurant publicizing the special. Overall, the scallops and the crab cakes were excellent, but this place is pricey and I don't see myself returning. I've had much better for around the same price, but the sides and everything was much better.

I don't make it here very often because it's an hour from home and if I *do* get all the way up there, then I have to have a mental celebrity death match between Big Fish and Kooma. This time, when we walked in, there was a MONSTER 6 lb lobster staring at us. We didn't get it. I love that they bring you crayons to draw on the table cloth while you wait for your food, even if there are no kids in sight. I'm easily amused, I admit. They also bring you a little basket of saltines, some kind of crab dip, and cocktail sauce, gratis. I had the jambalaya, which was delicious, and way too much food to eat in one sitting. The waitress offered to box it up for me, which is so much better than the places where they just throw an empty box at you and expect you to be able to maneuver your food into it without making a mess of everything. They have really good desserts, but we didn't get any this visit. Clean, fast, friendly, delicious.

Food was ok. We were a large out of town group with some high school students. All well behaved. We all ordered nice food and we got terrible service. The wait staff checked on us four times in two hours. Twice was to take our drink and food orders. The third was to refil our drinks and the last was to take our money. They were more interested in collecting our auto gratuity than serving us. There are a ton of other seafood places to go enjoy. We talked to the manager and he said that he was not concerned and dismissed our issue. Ultimately, we were not impressed and I would tell you to go somewhere else.

Showed up with a group of 9 people and was sat almost immediately. Food was great. Had the caramelized salmon with Parmesan cheese and saffron rice with green beens. The salmon just melted and tasted so good. Service was so so. They took the order, delivered it but never came back to see if we needed anything.

I made my first trip here last Friday. I was very pleased with everything, starting with the decor. The inside is much larger than it looks from seeing the outside of the building. Once you sit down, you are given a cup of crayons, and are encouraged to use them on the paper "table cloth." This was an interesting way to pass the time! Our server was very friendly and made some recommendations that I tried. I started with the Bourbon shrimp. They were perfect as is, and did not need the accompanying dipping sauce, which was much too thick, and took away from the flavor. I had the grilled salmon, which was cooked perfectly. The mashed sweet potato's were excellent as well. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for some good fresh fish.

My party of three had dinner after attending a movie at the Penn Cinema near by. I had a shrimp and lobster appetizer. I then had the Broiled Chesapeake Bay Maryland Crab Cakes with coleslaw and roasted red potatoes. The meal was great. They also have a very good selection of beers. One member of my party who is not a seafood fan, had the filet mignon. It was very good also. I took the double chocolate cake and ice cream to go. It was very good, but not great. Service was very good. The atmosphere is very nice. If you get there before about 6:30 pm, you should have no problem getting seated. The crowd appeared to come in after 6:30 pm.

Came here for lunch with in laws and was over the top impressed. It's a little loud but the food and service was outstanding. We had a bottle of Cigar zin at only $20. A big wine drinker i was impressed with price and quality. Broadwater Creek Oysters, shrimp, fried clams, swordfish, tilapia and i could go on. If you get a chance... Stop in... You will not regret it! If ever in the area agai... I'll come again.

Expected good things since it is specifically a seafood/fish restaurant. Mussels in white wine garlic had some grit to them. Garlic bread was very good, addicting. Entrees took a long time to receive. Mahi with crab cake was very good. Fried flounder was under seasoned but fried nicely. Unfortunately I found 5 pin bones in one bite. Continued eating mashed potatoes and green beans. Server didn't check in on us during meal so I was left with nothing else to eat. That entree was taken off check but I wouldn't go back.

Just returned from Big Fish after an impromptu dinner invitation by my hubby (smile) last night. This was both of our first time here. The foyer is very large and open so is the dining room. The bar is also a very generous size and is situated in the back with plenty of tv's. I like that there is a walk way on the side of the dining room for accessing the bar. As an Interior Designer I appreciated the layout and the nautical theme (Big Fish everywhere!). My husband surprised me again by ordering a 1/2 dozen oyster combo- chef's choice. I have tried raw oysters once years ago and really didn't like them but my husband with whom I've dined for 8 years has never touched an oyster. Stunning turn of events! The combo offered six different oysters, all of them big, fleshy and intimidating. We told our very attentive server Matt that we were novices and he helped us navigate. First thing my husband said was they tasted just like the ocean. Yes, definitely fresh and briny. I told Matt I would try them again. Sooner than he thought because next I ordered the fried oysters (but I have had them before elsewhere). The oysters were flash fried crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Delectable little treats. Husbands next order were the Seared Bourbon Shrimp. Tender shrimp with amazing flavor and a very good chili dipping sauce. I could have easily eaten two plates of them. Husband went for an entree after we polished off the shrimp. He ordered the pork chops. I didn't need that much more but since Wednesday featured lobster specials I asked Matt for an order of the lobster spring rolls. My husbands pork chops arrived looking tender and sweetly glazed. There were to massive center pieces of pork and with the entree you get two sides. He did not finish that plate. A whole other pork chop sits in the fridge as I type this. Lastly, there was a mis step with the lobster spring rolls and they did not arrive until very late. When Matt asked me if they were worth the wait I honestly said I did not think so. The cabbage and vegetable filling was all I tasted and I feel like if this was a lobster special well the lobster should be the highlight. It was not. In conclusion, I am a fan and plan to come back. I am looking forward to sitting outside by the river sampling more oysters

We had a very nice lunch with some friends in this lovely restaurant. It was a pity that we did not get a table outside nearby a river. The oyster here is great, very fresh and a little sweet. I ordered Florida Mahi-mahi as my entree. Because I googled this fish before I ordered it, looked very funny fish, but the meat was very normal, tasted like turkey. It is a very good restaurant with good food. But the service is not that good, we waited for a long time before ordering food. That is why I only rated 4 stars.

This place isn't bad, but it didn't wow me over either. I came here for dinner with a few other people on a Friday. The location was great - right along the riverfront. And the decor inside isn't bad. There is a definite nautical theme here, so you know that you're in a seafood restaurant. The food was good - I got the steamed mussels for an appetizer and the crab cakes and both were good. My wife enjoyed playing with the crayons on the table. The service was good. I thought the entrees were a little over priced. Like the other poster mentioned, the server dropped off the cracker appetizer thing with the two containers and we had no idea what it was.

I've been coming here for approximately 5 years. What I've found is the menu is too big. It takes a kitchen staff with a lot more experience to prepare all the varieties of fish it has on its menu. It also takes a much more experienced staff to know how best to serve all these varieties of fish. I've had soggy red snapper served to me which apparently was steamed or poached too long and obviously not grilled as indicated on the menu. I've had clams which were steamed in a garlic wine and somekind of noxious herb broth instead of being steamed and added to a garlic and wine broth. I've had clams which should have been steamed in water and served with melted butter but instead were steamed in the same horrendous garlic, wine and overpowering herb broth with melted butter on the side contrary to the description on the menu. Three weeks ago I ordered the shrimp and lobster scampi over pasta. Unfortunately, the kitchen obviously doesn't know how to make scampi. Instead of shrimp and pieces of lobster sauteed in a pan of butter, garlic and wine with a little parsely poured over pasta, I received a plate of undercooked shrimp and lobster bits in a garlic, wine and cheese paste over overcooked pasta. That night, 3 hours later, I suffered through a 6 hour bout of diarhea. I called the manager the following day. He said he'd send a report to the owners who may or may not be in touch with me. No one ever contactef me. I am through with Big Fish. Unless you're fortunate to order one of the several fish dishes from their huge menu which a cook or cooks happen to know how to prepare properly, you are gambling everytime you order. Good luck!

Visited Big Fish for dinner on a trip. The service was very good. Loved the crab-cake as an appetizer. I ordered the encrusted Grouper. While it was good, it was a little dry, but not bad at all. Would return if I lived in Wilmington, but as a visitor, I will try other places.

Bigger and busier than the one in Rehoboth. A little pricey depending on what you get, but a decent amount of food for the money. Most of the entrees come with two sides, and definitely get yourself some raw oysters. I don't know what that spicy sauce is, but it's damn good. We've come just after the dinner rush, so we've never really had to wait for an inside table. The service is good, and I can't say I've ever had a bad thing here the two times I've been. Our fish has been cooked fine in my visits, so I guess it's hit or miss on that front.

Large, spacious seafood restaurant on the river. Deck seating with a great view. Fun indoor decor with large murals and fish hanging from the ceiling. The food was fantastic! My party of 4 was all pleasantly surprised. We got the jambalaya, soy-glazed scallops, & pecan-crusted halibut, along with a gluten-free shrimp skewer dish. They offer an entire gluten-free menu. The food was pretty pricey (average of $20-30 per dinner entree), but it was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. They offer a 6lb lobster for $75!!!! We didn't order it, but we saw it go by; pretty amazing! They say it feeds 3 people! Kids eat free during Blue Rock home game nights. Service was good, but not great. We will definitely be returning! One of our favorite restaurants in the area. The knock off of 1 star was for the 'good, but not great' service and the very high price tag.

Went here for my birthday dinner with my chicas! The decor is great. Its very aquatic and I like it! They have paper on the tables and crayons so you can doodle while you wait. The waitress we had was very attentive and sweet. She wasnt overbearing by any means. The runners were a bit confused but still happy and nice. Let me explain.... There were 3 of us. We ordered 2 of the same drink and a different drink. The runner came and placed the drinks in front of us. The glasses they gave us didnt match so we knew the order was mixed up. Not to mention, my friend and I both work in Hospitality. The runner told us the bartender told her which drinks were which. She consulted another runner and they had a pow-wow. Finally, our server came by and told them that we right. By that time, we had already switched glasses after tasting each others tasty beverages. No biggie. The girls were all nice and apologized for the petit faux paus. Otherwise, everything was FABULOUS!!! The food was mind blowing!!! We waited a while between apps and entree but we doodled on the paper to keep us occupied. Nice touch! The dessert selection was slim pickens but the portions are HUGE. We decided against dessert tho so I couldnt tell you what it taste like. Overall, a great restaurant with great food and great service that you can enjoy while having a great drink! Gotta love it!

After reading the other reviews, I was concerned about coming here. The big plasma TVs someone complained about are way over by the bar and hardly noticeable. Lots of 'big fish' hang from the ceiling and remind me of my visits to Panama City Beach. Not noisy or crowded...certainly not like their neighbor that serves crabs. Great service. Perhaps I'll add more details to the review later. But I had to go ahead and state that this place was much better than the other reviews lead me to believe.

Came for lunch not my choice (a co-workers birthday) .The entree options are a tad on the pricey side. I chose the fish tacos for my entrée. The tilapia was flash fried, the skin was crispy but it wasn't too hard and still soft. The fish wasn't seasoned very well I had to apply salt and pepper generously. The rice that came along side it was bland and tasteless and stayed on the plate. I got my choice of a side I chose broccoli and it was actually very good. The rest of my group seemed to enjoy their meals and the menu offers a lot of seafood options and interesting combos like tuna cheese steak. I probably won't rush back but if someone else suggested this place I would try something different. Service was good we never wanted for anything.

My husband and I accompanied a few other couples to this location in celebration of a friend's birthday. First off, the both of us have shellfish allergies which prevents us from patronizing most seafood restaurants. They usually don't have a variety of seafood dishes without shellfish included. That wasn't the case for Big Fish Grill. We actually had options, starting with the appetizer. My entree, the caramelized salmon was simply delicious and cooked all the way through without being dry. It was so moist, with spinach and saffron rice. My husband opted for the pork chops. They were succulent. The service was great and friendly. Since I'm a big kid at heart, having crayons to doodle on the paper table cover was just a bonus. LOL! Big Fish Grill was worth the 2.5 hour trip. We will definitely be back!

The waitress was super nice and accommodating. However the restaurant doesn't allow me to use my gift card as a tip. Doesn't really make sense to me, they got there money and I went simply to not spend my own money. This basically sets up waiters to get yelled at by more irritable customers. I ended up having to buy an additional item I didn't even want just to be able to tip my waitress.

I frequent big fish a lot because I work at the riverfront. I've always had a good experience. They have huge salads and their fried seafood platter is really good. The Neva's potatoes are a must try. I usually get one of the salads with a fish of the day or the oyster sandwich. The fries can be a little heavy, but like all good things, you should eat in moderation. This place has a nice atmosphere for a low key happy hour or if you are looking for a kid friendly restaurant.

I love Big Fish. I fell in love with the one in Rehoboth, and I was so excited when they opened one on the riverfront. The food is always delicious and you always get enough to take home and enjoy the next day. I always have friendly and fast service as well. No complaints thus far.

Stopped in for lunch with some friends from work. I have never been to the restaurant at the beach, so this was my first experience with Big Fish. Appetizer of breaded and fried calamari was average. The squid was tender and cut thin enough to not be chewy. The breading was average and the dipping sauce standard. The entree was fresh grilled mahi mahi, unfortunately they were out of the red snapper. The fish was tender and a well proportioned fillet for a lunch entree. Grill marks were well established with an even sear. The saffron rice was plump and well cooked without uneven texture or undercooked items. The steamed broccoli was bit bland, not mushy but not much flavor. Desert was key lime pie, nice clabbered filling with a tart lime taste. Lime flavor was rich and clear with a light tempering of sweetness. The filling was a light greenish to tan color, which is nice since it means there was no artificial coloring added. The only problem is that there was a bit of a gritty texture, which I assume is from some undissolved sugar grains. The staff was quick and courteous. They were very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. However, no drink refills once the check came. All in all a good fresh fish lunch with nice surroundings. I would definitely eat here again.

First let me say this - I don't eat seafood BUT my partner and all our friends do, so I will speak for us all when I say this: the food there is excellent - always!!!! The menu is really good, we have ALL loved our meals every time we've been there and it is one of our favorite places to go in Wilmington. The atmosphere is great - it's classy and laid back at the same time, and the patio is divine when the weather permits outdoor dining. As the ONLY landlubber in the group, I still good choices - chicken, steak, sometimes pork, very nice salads and the bruschetta is really yummy. We love going to Big Fish! Great location right here on the riverfront!

Avoid the entrees. Overpriced and underwhelming. We two ladies happily made a light dinner of two salads and a shared appetizer. The house and chopped salads were very large and fresh, and for $4, exceedingly worth it. I'm betting the various other salads were all just as good. Shared an order of mussels in red and two glasses of wine and we were out of there for less than $25. Don't fall for the add-a-piece-of-chicken-to-your-$4-salad-and-the-price-is-now-$22 ploy. Just grab an appetizer of calamari or fried oysters or fried shrimp and voila-- meat on your salad. Sat at the corner of the bar which has a large curved bump-out, making it seem like we were at a table by ourselves anyway. Lovely!

I love seafood, and this place was good. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer in a garlic butter sauce and they were good. Nothing to write home about. The place is quite large, and expansive. We went at night, but it seems like it would have an amazing view during the day light. We waited a while for our server. It reminded me of a mix between Red Lobster and Joe's Crab Shack - only larger. My friend had the pecan encrusted trout, and it was pretty good. Hmmm, it was only a few days ago and I'm struggling to remember what I ordered. Oh yeah, it was a fried seafood platter of clams, shrimps and scallops. It was okay, some of the breading was falling off - it could have been fried more. I think if you buy the gift cards from restaurant.com then it is definitely worth it. If you are paying full price, not worth it.

The restaurant is very loud and everything echoes... But the worst part of coming here was the food. I sat at the bar and a friend and I got the flatbread pizza, wings, and the chicken sliders. The food was not good. The pizza was not cooked all of the way and lacked flavor, the wing sauces were not very tasty, and the sliders were way soggy. Although, the service at the bar was very good. The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgable. My friend and I will not be returning to Big Fish Grill.

Adorable, nautical feel! Nothing on the menu is particularly adventurous or impressive, but if you want a variety of fish options and have them prepared well, this is your place. My family ate dinner here last Tuesday and it was PACKED! I had red snapper with lemon pepper, brocolli and mashed sweet potatoes. SO good. Started with a Greek salad, very simple, but also great. Everyone at the table was very happy. This is a great option for Wilmingtonians: not too expensive, simple, good flavors, nice atmosphere.

People underestimate a great piece of fish. It can't be gunked up with eight sauces or crusted in dust twelve times. It should be fresh, simply prepared, and delicious. If the fish is good enough it can shine on it's own. Went at 7pm on a Saturday night and the wait was 90 minutes. No worries- we stood at the bar and had a few beers. Loud and hoppin', the bar was packed, mostly with people waiting for a table. The regular menu had almost no fish on it so we ordered off the specials (which everyone seemed to be doing when we were there). We had a rockfish with bruschetta, mahi-mahi, and grouper with a crab cake. Loved the choice of sides (we ended up with delicious hand cut fries, broccoli, sweet potatoes, and creamed spinach). We split a $29 bottle of wine and calamari as an app. Service was great. Minus a $25 gift certificate from restaurant.com , total was $83. Not bad for 3! We'll definitely be back.

This is apparently the Wilmington Riverfront version of the original Rehoboth restaurant (which I've never been to). We've eaten here twice and I really like it! The space is ginormous, feels beachy, it's not crazy loud or crammed with hokey flair (like other places that shall remain unnamed), and for some reason, it's never crowded, even on a Saturday night. There's a bar area in the back with many TVs and a nice patio for dining al fresco. Service has been attentive and helpful, and the food has been good. Not life-changing but tasty. It would be awesome if they had crabs but I understand they don't want to step on their neighbor's turf. I love having a ton of fresh fish choices, but what I REALLY love is this: not only is there a gluten-free menu, they also have (according to the website) dairy-free, shellfish-free, garlic-free, egg-free, and vegan menus. So basically even if you don't like fish or you have dietary restrictions, they're on it and can work with you. Definitely one of my newest go-tos in the northern DE area.

I'm giving it 5 stars for a good combination of food, service, and great outdoor seating. The food was fresh and tasty. The crab cakes were rich with crab, but could be more flavorful. Peach sangria was awesome sauce. Lobster was cooked well (and shelled to boot). Peanut butter pie was huge and good too. The outdoor seating was the highlight though, near the water and a nice walking path for people watching.

Slice, taste, savor,,,and slowly repeat. The pan fried and lightly seasoned grilled swordfish was done to perfection! My wife had the pan fried grilled grouper. Both entries were accompanied with two sides. For my sides, I had the mashable garlic potatoes and apple sauce. The cavernous restaurant overlooks the Brandywine River which flows out to the Delaware River. The restaurant is flanked by a pair of vintage cranes that must have been used further downstream in the Port of Wilmington. After savoring our meal, we walked along the waterfront to enjoy the views. We will return to this crown jewel! Across the parking lot is where the Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball team plays.

My friends took me here for my birthday! We were a party of 9. Service was good. We sampled a lot and every thing we had was very good. Lobster was really good and the servings were large. Lots of fish and lobster choices. I had red snapper with and add on side of rock shrimps (for $3.99 I recommend). It was excellent. For a quick bite see Leah S's reco (very clever, I second it, you will need a healthy appetite to go for the entrees post appetizers). Ambience is casual and inviting, lots of space and kid friendly. A good place to go to.

Took my Dad for has birthday. It's bright, loud, and basic. The food was well prepared and tasty. We ordered of the regular menu because, frankly, some of the components on the special menu didn't inspire me to try them. (pecan crusted Tilapia, really?) I think the Big Fish in Rehoboth is better but it could be because we go there in the Summer when there are more high quality fresh local ingredients to enhance the chef's offerings. We had steamed shrimp, fried oysters, and calamari apps. Well executed but nothing special. Next came lobster and crab cakes. Again, nicely cooked but not memorable. Service was friendly and efficient and food came out of the kitchen quickly. We went without reservations at 6 on Saturday before the rush and were seated right away. My parents loved it so I consider it a successful meal.

Big Fish should change their name to Canned Fish, because I could swear that the crab cakes I ate did not taste like it came fresh straight from the ocean. When we informed the server that we suspected the crab wasn't fresh, she seemed shocked and even made a point to return to our table and inform us that their crab cakes won the Best of Delaware Award. I am not a regular crab cake eater, but in my 30 plus years on this planet, I have eaten plenty of crab cakes. I know the difference between canned and fresh, and Big Fish's were far from fresh. They were also fairly small and expensive. The rest of my meal was just ok, nothing stood out as great. On another note, one of the bartenders, a pretty brunette, didn't seem too experienced and/or happy with her job. I heard her yelling at a customer in an extremely unprofessional way as we were leaving. She actually made a small scene. IMHO, an employee of a restaurant should never raise their voice at a customer.

Great, creamy lobster bisque was best part of meal. Unfortunately the raw oysters I had seemed anemic in size and only okay flavor . Crab cakes and home made bread for sandwiches got good reviews. Large salad with fish was large but could have been a bit better seasoned. A bit of a disappointment given reviews . Service was great and attentive.

Big Fish Grill was recommended by everyone that we asked where to eat. It's located on the riverfront. As soon as you pull up you can smell the ocean. The restaurant is huge. It was busy, but thankfully we did not have to wait. They went for the under the sea theme. There were massive fish hanging from the ceiling. Usually I don't care for decor like that, but I really didn't care because everything smelled so good. When we were sat the first thing I noticed was paper table cloth and crayons. My wife and I are suckers for that. Let's talk about the food. My wife ordered garlic bread and well, it was garlic bread. You can't really screw that up. I ordered the chef choice of oysters. I should of stayed with just the blue points, but overall they were good and most importantly they were fresh. My main problem was that they were not properly opened. I had pieces of shells in them. My wife is very sensitive to what she can eat right now, so she stuck with fried scallops. She gave a thumbs up. She also enjoyed her sides of veges which were properly cooked. I had mahi mahi, which was served over a crab cake. The fish was cooked perfectly. It did need a little acid and salt to liven it up a bit, so lemon and a sprinkle of sea salt helped. The crab cake was very tasty. There was no filler in it. It was pure crab and a lil egg to bind it together. It was baked. It was missing texture. It was a bit one note. Overall it wars nice evening out with my wife. We were not rushed. The service was great. We would totally go back again.

If you're looking for a BASIC, standard, flavor profile, Big Fish is consistent and hits the mark. It is not unique or exceptional, but it is not bad either. I have eaten here a few times and have not been disappointed. Then again, I wasn't "wowed" either. The salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. The portions were a good size. The best thing I have had is the crab nachos they serve on Wednesdays. That's a pretty decent, almost-unique-but-not-quite, dish.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm from Boston and not young so my tastes might be somewhat outside the norm for their clientele. My personal rating is a 2 but my companions give it a 3. PROS: 1) Easy access, parking, tables available on Saturday night 2) Hard-working, well-drilled staff with good, albeit fakey, execution 3) Shoestring fries were delicious CONS: 1) 7+ large plasma TVs. Huh? Distracting and tacky. 2) Felt like a factory 3) Entrees varied from very good to poor 4) Goat cheese salad was inedible. Cheese was good but there were low quality veggies drenched in dressing. Yuck.

The riverfront Big Fish grill is ok for lunch, but do not mistake this restaurant for anything other than finger food or drinks after that. This restaurant is just as its name suggests, a big fish in a little pond... unimpressive and avoidable.

Decent and dependable fare. I like the sandwiches - the seafood tastes fresh and is not overshadowed by spices. Strangely, their lobster sandwich tasted better than the one I had in Maine .. Their sides are huge - last time it seemed like I had an order of fries with a side of a sandwich. All in all, I leave overstuffed each time, and I actually like that they take a while to bring the food out as it gives me time to go nuts with their crayons and paper tablecloth.

I've been looking forward to trying this place out for the last couple of weeks and the biggest draw was because it is family owned (I was told that by whoever runs their facebook page). First off it is really nice inside, very clean with a huge main dining area. When you first walk in there is a private dining area if you wanted to have a meeting or a party. Also their bar area (which is a decent size also) is in the back away from the main dining area with large screen TVs. They also have a nice outdoor dining area which overlooks the river. I liked how the tables had paper on them instead of table cloths (which I hope they recycle)....also crayons were provided to draw on the paper and the waitress wrote her name on it when we were seated so we would remember her name. I thought that was a good idea since I didn't see name tags. I ordered a couple appetizers; fried calamari (which was yummy, although I didn't really like either sauce that it came with it) and a salmon dish (which I didn't know was served cold - wish it would have stated that in the menu - it almost looked raw, even though I was assured it was cooked) but either way I didn't want it. I've never sent something back at a restaurant so I felt sort of bad but the staff said it was fine. As my entree, I ordered the fresh seared twin filets, topped with Maine lobster and asparagus in a lobster cream sauce with corn on the cob and veggies as my 2 sides. The steak was so good! Had a nice crisp outside and an almost melt in your mouth center. But I was not really impressed by the "sweet" corn, which really didn't taste like anything; I had 2 bites of and didn't finish the rest (brought it home for the groundhog in my backyard); it was almost like it wasn't cooked long enough. Also, the lobster cream sauce was just gross (I'm glad I asked for it on the side) I don't know if that's how it is supposed to taste because it was the first time I have ever had it. But the sauce took away the flavor of the lobster and I didn't even eat more than the first bite. Since it was my first time visiting the Big Fish Grill I was treated with a free dessert. I chose a piece of peanut butter pie. It was HUGE and really really good. It reminded me of those Asher's peanut butter eggs for Easter. If it wasn't for the atmosphere and how pleasant the staff were I would have probably given this place 1 star for the rating. The food fell flat (and the check was $80 for 2 people) and because of that I'm not sure if I will be returning.

I've visited this place twice, and on both occasions I was not impressed at all. The food is bland. Service is mediocre. The best part is the location, on the river front.

Went out to "BF" tonight after work. They have pretty good calimari and I was really delighted by how much food was on the entree. I had the scallops after the waitress suggested it and was not disappointed. I actually spilt that with a colleague who got the crab cakes - which was a great idea so I could sample both. The crab cakes were totally shareable and you got 10 big scallops with sides on my entree which I couldn't have even finished. So it was the prefect mix. Pretty good value for area seafood.

Not a ton of flavor for the money. The Lobster was bland and my Tuna steak didn't have any pop either. So for the price of the entrees it just isn't worth it and we won't venture back again!
