Been coming here for over than 14 years. The beer has been AWESOME! I moved to Delaware from Washington State (the Motherland of Micro Brew) on a job transfer and thought Delaware could not produce a decent Micro Brew. My neighbor recommended Stewart's as a great place to get a great beer and a burger. The staff is exceptional and the beers they put out are great. Excellent variety and the food specials are great on top of their outstanding menu. I've seen a couple reviews of petty stuff and had to finally write a review.

The beers is the best around and the monk is my favorite.... Wish it was on tap year round!

I was here with a group of friends today & found the food alright & didn't try the beer's at all, but the selections looked like they'd be good & the staff was great!

Must say, I really really like this place. The bf and I had off on a random monday, and decided that dogfish was too far away, and that we've been to victory too many times, and once saw an ad for this place in some beer mag, so we were going to try it out. Now, getting there is a complete experience. We were going every which way trying to find this place!!! But, like all good things, we were thrilled when we finally found it. Walked in and found a great spot at the bar. The bartender on duty couldn't have been nicer. We grabbed a few beers and ordered some food. Both were great! We then got a growler to go, and the bartender again went above and beyond. She cleaned the entire thing out and wahooo! a clean growler with a few drops of raspberry flavoring to our wheat beer! YUM! have to say I can't wait to go back! Congrats Stewarts!

Clean bathrooms, friendly staff. I rate beers on the pint scale. 0-5 pints that I can drink in a night. Wry George: pronounced rye flavor. Light not bitter. 4 pints. Golden walrus imperial Pilsner: a sweet Pilsner. A little sweet for my taste. 2 pints. Mischief night pumpkin ale: pumpkin pie in a beer. Not too sweet great spice level. 3 pints. Oktoberfest: slightly sweet on the finish. Not heavy or bitter. 2 pints. Irish red ale: like a killians. Not too bitter or heavy. 4 pints. Governors golden ale: easy drinking. Goes with everything. Like a coors light or amstel light. 5 pints. Highlander stout: almost Guinness. Dare I say its better? Not as bitter and light for a stout. 4 pints. Whacky wheat ale: standard wheat ale. Light with a subtle wheat flavor. I repeat not heavy for a wheat. 4 pints. Food was tasty, but nothing special. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwhich, MMM (main man muncher) got the game berger which was venison. Ice cream made with their beers was the highlight of the menu.

This is our go-to place! Great beer, awesome food. There's always something new on the menu every time we go that I want to try. The place is also never very crowded, and the service is excellent. Lots of TV's too for sports fans.

Wings appetizer and Fish and Chips. No idea what kind of fish that was, but it was delicious. I've been a member of the mug club for years, and even though I live too far south to come regularly, I use every trip north as an excuse to go get my Stewart's fix. Wacky Wheat with lemon is my beer of choice. Friendly bartender and waitresses every visit, and trivia is really fun when they're playing.

We went to Stewart's as we were heading up through Delaware to get to NJ. It is right off the highway--and we enjoy visiting breweries and wineries. It is located in a shopping center--but when you go in, it has a nice brewery/sports bar feel. They also have the beer kettles right in the restaurant. We went in and ordered the sampler of beers and the pork nachos. The sampler had a variety of beers ranging from light beers to porters and stouts. The beers were on the heavy side and some of them did not stand out-- however M really enjoyed the Nugget Seasonal IPA while K's favorite was the Wacky Wheat. We definitely would have had a pint or two if we were not driving for the rest of the day. The pork nachos were huge--in fact we did not even wind up ordering lunch because they nacho portion was so large. It was also very tasty! They also looked like they had some cool weekly promotions. We have recommended this place to a few friends that live in the area and may be back if we are traveling through Delaware again.

Went here with some local friends for a meetup. It's a standard pub with lots of beer, pub fare, and noisy fans cheering at the tvs when something good happens on the sports channel. Don't go here if you want to romantically chat or quality food. If you want munchies, beer, drinks, and a bit of a chaotic atmosphere, you can't go wrong!

I found this place on a search for a great Buzztime trivia location within 50 miles of my location, for I love playing trivia against and with other people. I noticed it was only 35 miles or so away and it was one of the best trivia locations in the country, not just near me, so I made the decision and drove there. It is connected to a strip mall in Bear, Delaware, but it is pulled off awesomely. The place looks great from the exterior...and even better inside. On a Wednesday night around 8 pm, there was a nice mix of restaurateurs and patrons at the bar. To my surprise, there were 17 people playing trivia on the TV's, the most I've ever seen! The atmosphere was great! There were two dartboards against the north wall, a shuffleboard table against the west wall, a huge restaurant area to the east. There were numerous TV's around (half HD Flat screens/half generic (for trivia purposes)). They feature a ton of handcrafted award-winning beers, modestly priced at $4 to $5 a pint. They also have water...or...Coors Light on tap and plenty of domestic/imported bottles. I tried seven different drafts and my favorites included the Stewart's Irish Red and the Coffee Stout. As far as the food goes, I started with the Potato Skins ($10) which was a special. It came with a side salad with vinaigrette dressing on the side and three potato skins, two with broccoli, chicken, and cheese and one with crab imperial. The potato skins were not crunchy but the broccoli/chicken/cheese was tasty. The crab imperial potato skin did have a funky taste to it. I could not put my finger on it, but I didn't like it. The salad was fresh and everything a side salad should be... The second course was a cuban sandwich which was pretty tasty. The pickle that came with the course was definitely not a Vlasic. There was ZERO crunch to it at all. Overall, this place had a great atmosphere and tasty beers but the food could use a little bit of work. I would go back here in a heartbeat, but I would try different courses.

I'm telling you this is the greatest bar in Delaware! I've been taking friends here for years. It's always fun because they have a great staff, excellent beer variety brewed right there, they have screens for all the sporting events and both darts and shuffleboard. They also have a couple of bar top touch screen games as well as the buzztime games. You'll have a great time here. I recommend the calamari friti (my Italian father in law swears it's the best calamari around) or the chicken nachos. The pin on the Yelp map isn't where the bar is though. It's at Governors Square on Route 40 near the Bear library.

Definitely a place to go for a beer with friends. Their Belgian White and Irish Reds are my favorite. Can't decide? Try the sampler! To top it all off their food is good!

Stewart's won the World Beer Cup Gold medal for their Kolsch blonde. It must be great as they were out. Instead, I had a great Wacky Wheat ale and the husband a Delcastle Brown ale. Beer masters Ric, Eric, and Al seem to know their stuff. However, what won our hearts was the Maryland style crab soup, a tomato based soup with lots of crab and potatoes. Yum. We also split a great spinach salad with a cherry balsamic vinaigrette. It was the soup that won the 4th star which would probably still be there if we had sampled the Kolsch.

Imop, great brew pub. Always a nice seasonal selection of ales. Had the Oyster Stout and Citri IPA, liked them both. My wife is a vegetarian, would be nice if they had more for her to select from on the menu. Nice plasma TVs for sports and buzztime trivia. Will definitely come back.

Not a bad place to go for a bite to eat. The beer is good, and they have happy hour prices. The food is usually pretty good. Sometimes the kitchen seems rushed and the food doesn't come out as expected. The burgers and most of the sandwiches are enjoyable. There are daily specials, so make sure you check them out.

This is a great place to hang out, have a beer, and have a good time. I've been here multiple times over the years and love their changing beer menu. Their food is great, especially love the burgers. I even here when my sister rented the back room for her rehearsal dinner and it was a great experience. The beer menu changes seasonally, though there are some standby brews that are there year-round. The atmosphere can be a little loud at times and it carries due to the large dining area which has the bar in the center. There are televisions everywhere for good viewing angles no matter pretty much where you sit. The waitstaff are normally very pleasant and service has been attentive. A great neighborhood hangout!

  • Henry B.

Not too much to write about here, a typical local neighborhood type sports bar tucked into a strip mall. The menu is your typical line up of pub grub with a few more dinner entrees thrown on there to help round things out. The decor seems worn and laid out strangely especially around the bar. There are a few references to a Scottish theme here and there with a painting of a piper on the wall near the entrance, for example, but it never carries over and takes off. Ok, the best for last, the beer. Here is the bright spot of this establishment. They have about 6 or so house beers on tap with a few seasonal beers rotating through. The IPA is decent a bit light bodied but definitely enjoyable. The stout was ok but seemed a bit light in body too. They had a beer engine but sadly nothing to serve with it. I do love the cask so this always makes me sad when a beer engine is dormant. They also have Coors Light on tap......wtf!? If people are coming to your brewery and drinking Coors to such a degree that you are putting it on tap I have to scratch my head. If I were passing through and needed a beer I may stop in again but once was probably enough.

Finding myself now in Bear, DE I have discovered Stewarts right around the corner from my house! I had never been in until my friend said, "have you gone yet?" so he took me for my first Stewarts experience.. I think they have a great selection of beers!! Most likely the best brew pub I've been to out here. Its a very laid back setting and all of the servers are great. Its kind of like the local cheers bar I call it. haha.. I love the big bear ale.. it is by far my favorite brew there..

Half priced burgers on Tuesday. The best thing about the burgers is they are cooked to order. If you ask for Med-Rare, that is what you get. They could be a bit more generous on the toppings, but the right temperature is more than half the battle on a burger. I had a calamari appetizer. It was cooked to perfection. Could have used a bit more spice to it, as it was advertised as 'lightly dusted with cayenne pepper.' A bit too light. It came with a marinara sauce. They called it something else, but that's what it was...no more fancy than that. Not the best companion to the light spice on the calamari, but tasty. Outstanding beers brewed in house and good folks. I had their stout and porter and each were outstanding examples of their class. Real bristol dart boards and a real shuffleboard table, no coins, all quality. The rest of the menu is basic pub food, but from what I sampled, it's worthy of more than a few evenings. They have a few specials to augment their standard menu, so it looks like they try to keep their menu reasonably fresh. Definitely a win. Family friendly.

Highlander stout is smooth it's nice. Had the two ice cream coffee flavored ones which was really good. I'd rate this place 3.8. Nice place. Somewhat friendly bartender. Add the highlander stout to your coffee ice cream. Yea it was awesome. Serious.

I've been coming to Stewarts for years. . . probably more than a decade. They switch up the menu every so often and tonight was a big change of both their menu and their look since the last time I visited. Fast, good service and the beer is pricy enough to keep the Coors/Miller/Budweiser crowd out of the pub and leave it to the regulars who enjoy some craft brew (made in the next room!). A lot of folks I know call the place "too expensive" but then again, those are the folks that don't drink anywhere there's not that mass-marketed beer served for under $4 a pint. They really don't need to be here, leave it to the beer-lovers and folks like my wife and I who'll pay $10 for a plate of really good cheese and European sausages (I had a really good Scotch Egg tonight) and play a few rounds of Buzztime Trivia. It might be just me, but their IPA is to die for and the Double-IPA is for adults only. We hit the place once a month and it's always a good time with good service, good food, and cold craft beer.

I just realized I haven't written a review for Stew's and I've a been a Brew Club Member for almost 15 years. With 52 reviews in already, there's probably not much I can say that hasn't already been covered. Basically this place is great for two things- trying something different, and a friendly atmosphere. You can try some fresh brews made on premises that you wont find anywhere else. My favorites are their Governors Golden, Pumpkin, and Hefeweizen (seasonal). If you're a first timer try the sample flight to take it all in. Aside from the unique beers, the food menu offers something for the adventurous. There's bison, antelope, emu and various other hard to find products depending on the time of the year. The bar is frequented by regulars who are very friendly and talkative. The staff is great and Shawn is one of the best tenders around. The trivia games are fun and competitive and often the whole bar gets in on it- whether its to compete with each other or team up against other bars in the network. This is the one bar where I could go in by myself and spend the whole night there without feeling bored. A must stop for out of town'ers and people looking to host events.

Nice spot to drink. It's very chill. Not a rowdy bar so if you're looking for a relaxed environment this is a good place. Yummy food. Nice.

I kept passing this place and had no idea it was there. The bartender and waiter were very cool and their homemade brew was great. We took home two jugs. It's a big place with a lot of room to move around. If I had friends, it'd likely be a good hang out.

We're fortunate enough to live by and come here frequently. Decent pub food and working to change their image, this is a great place to drop in for a decent meal and good local beer.

I would say I have been a "regular" at Stewart's for about four years (we go at least 3-4 times/month), and although the place has changed quite a bit over the last year, it's still my go-to restaurant for happy hour, dinner with friends, or just a night out with my boyfriend. We were incredibly disappointed when the banquet section of the restaurant was closed, the shuffleboard removed, and the fries (the fries!!!!) were changed. However, the fries are back (woohoo! they seriously are the BEST) and we've gotten used to most of the changes. The only thing we now have to keep in mind is that there WILL be a wait for dinner on the weekends. The beer is consistently good. Their Highlander Stout (house) is one of my favorite stouts of all time. They rotate a game burger each week which is a good opportunity to try different meats (kangaroo, antelope, bison, etc.). Their new happy hour specials are a good deal, though I am rarely there early enough to enjoy it. They have the BEST crab dip! Also, their crab cake sandwich is probably the best deal on the menu - it's loaded with crab meat and doesn't have a ton of filler, plus fries. Every Tuesday is $5 burger night! I've never had a bad experience with a server or bartender here. Stewart's is good for groups of 6-8 if it's not prime time (at which point you will be waiting for an hour+) and for a brewpub, it's relatively kid-friendly.

We came here last night for a work Christmas party with a group of 16. We had one server for our entire table and she did a great job. She was fast and efficient and was able to break up the check separately for everyone, which made paying very easy for us. The beer selection was great. I sampled a few of their homemade brews and was not disappointed with any of them. Everyone also seemed very happy with their food choices. Of course the menu is bar food, but everything was good. The buffalo chicken mac n cheese was excellent. I would definitely return, especially to watch a game and sample their beers.

This bar/restaurant is always a good stop for a beer and burger. They have a lot of good food choices and everything on the menu is good. I always go on Tuesdays to half price burgers which are a good size patty with plenty of meat. They are also a brewing company so they always have different beer available to try.

  • Sam S.

We only had a couple of their beers but they were very good. We had the pumpkin, stout, and barley wine; all of which were very good and we would definitely order them again. I won't lie, when we see a sports bar atmosphere we definitely worry about their beers. At Stewart's the beers were very good, it was the food that needed a little more attention. Portions were good but it was kind of standard barfood. The onion rings were very good but the rest was just not that exciting. If we lived in the area we probably would not go back but we would buy their beers if they bottled.

I really like this place. It is very close to home and I've always said I want to "be a local" somewhere. This might be the new spot! Do not let the strip mall location fool you. It is about twice the size I thought it was from the outside appearance. It is clean inside and the bartenders are friendly. I have yet to eat here but I did get a chance to try out some of the brews on tap. So many to choose from and the bartenders are very knowledgeable and make perfect recommendations.

Mac and cheese skillet .Good stuff .brews are craft which equals good. Layout of bar something to get used to being a long oval. Get used to looking at someone . Definitely will be back . Good stuff so far

The food here is amazing. The mac and cheese skillet is to die for. The beer? Eh. For a brewing Company, a little disappointing. Very few beers to choose from, though I've enjoyed most of the beer I have had so far. I only had one seasonal beer though that really stood from the crowd. The staff are friendly enough, but not super attentive and the food takes forever to get to the table. Worth the visit for the pub food if you're in Bear, but there are plenty of other amazing options around the larger surrounding area for better beer and experience.

Found this onlinr while pasing through. Great beer selection for a small brewery. Did the tasting...why not? Fish and chips was huge....4 large pieces of fish. The game burger was enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Tried to go to Stewart's tonight around 9pm for dinner. It was so stupidly loud (the live band is playing just inside the door, 10 ft from the hostess stand) that our conversation was extremely limited with the hostess, but she did manage to communicate that it was an HOUR wait for a table, and that no, we couldn't sit in the clearly visible dining room that was all set up but completely empty of customers. Are you freaking kidding me? We left. I wouldn't choose to ever go back after that nonsense. I can't believe we drove an hour each way just to be told it was an hour wait when they had at least a dozen empty tables.

  • Erik W.

I'll state up front that this may not be a "proper" review because my friend and I stuck to the cheap happy hour food instead of the regular menu items. Having said that, our food was...meh. I ordered the potato skins, which were your garden-variety skins...nothing special. I also ordered the spicy Thai chili boneless wings, which were a bit better taste-wise, but probably cooked a little too long (as they were more crunch than actual meat). The atmosphere was fine...typical brewpub-restaurant hybrid. There was a giant chalkboard on one wall, listing all the seasonals. There were some TVs tuned into sports channels. There were plenty of tables, and you could see the fermentation tanks through some glass on one side of the restaurant. Service was mediocre. Even though there were only about six people sitting at the bar when we showed up, our bartender disappeared for long periods of time. He seemed friendly enough, but wasn't terribly attentive. Whatever the case, my friend and I were here for one thing: BEER. We'd heard good things about their beer on Yelp, and the bar was set pretty high. We could live with the basic happy hour food offerings as long as the beer was good. We each ordered a flight, and mixed up the seasonals in each so that we could sample as many of their offerings as possible. The verdict? I couldn't believe how watery this beer was. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to some bad batches, but as for what I actually tasted, it was not very good. Some of the pumpkin seasonals were better, and the barleywine had a strong kick to it, but most of what we tried was more typical of a home-brewer still perfecting his technique. I really wanted to like this place, but ultimately, it was a disappointment.

This pub/brewery is definitely worth going to. The food tastes great especially the cuban sandwich. Try the beer sampler to get a variety of beers that are all made on site. The owner is so nice, he took us on a tour of the brewery and told us the process. An awesome place for beer lovers!!!!!

My original post mentioned that this place was just ok. I went back again twice since my first experience and the 2nd two meals and beer that I had there were excellent. Anything brisket is a solid choice. I will be going back again.

This is my go-to place when I want to meet a friend for a beer. The food is decent, beers are usually good. Winter is the best time for beers here, especially Halloween and St.Patrick's Day! The service is a little slow, but always friendly, and it's one of the few places I would not hesitate to go alone. Occasionally they have a live band. There's also shuffleboard. A nice neighborhood bar!

I've been here a couple of times over the past month and both times were wildly different in terms of atmosphere. The first time was during lunch on a weekday; I and the person I was with were two of maybe six people people in this super open-air restaurant, if you count our waiter (I'm not complaining... that just gave me more space to let my gut hang out after the delicious meal). The second time was at around 1:00 on a Sunday in October. Translation: Football fans... and lots of them. It's been a while since I've been in a bar where there are literally fans from at least 12 teams sitting together without a hint of animosity. Maybe it was the amazing beer on tap that united everyone, or maybe it was the recent Ray Rice incident that united everyone against Roger Goodell with a sort of common hatred. Either way, it was an awesome experience. During both of my trips here, the food was amazing. The nachos were to die for, the wild game burgers were excellent, and the beer was top-notch. Especially good was an Oyster Stout - very smooth with just a hint of the nearby coastline infused. Everyone in my party during the second trip loved their food. The waiter was great - very attentive and informative. Don't sleep on this place. The facade is blended into storefronts in a shopping center, but maybe it's that "I don't need to obnoxiously stand out" vibe that brings in so many satisfied customers... at least on Sunday, that is.

Stewart's is a great place to come with family or friends to relax, eat some good old pub food & drink brews. I come here with my family whenever I am in town. It has a nice, sports pub-y atmosphere but it doesn't feel dirty the way some restaurant/bars do who cater to sports fans. We usually sit at the high tops in the bar section so we can play trivia. The trivia is one of my favorite things about Stewart's! A lot of people play so there is good competition. Sometimes the bartenders or the owner will lead special rounds and give away free beer tokens! It is a lot of fun. My only critique of Stewart's is that sometimes the service is slow. But not every time and it seems quicker in the dining room (not near the bar). The food is always good - I usually get a burger, sandwich or a salad. They have a great rotation of food and beer specials. We usually kick it off with the soft pretzels and mustard, which are very tasty. I would recommend: the woot burger, oopie basket, Bahn pita, Caprese sandwich & the Mac and cheese, to name a few of our faves. The beer is also very good and very unique! They have some really fun seasonal and rotating drafts. The Wind Blown Blonde and the Wacky Wheat are my go-to's. Grab your family and friends and go to Stewart's for a good meal of comfort foods & quality beer at a decent price.

Tried this place out based on hotel clerk's recommendation. The location is in a strip plaza, which made it kind of hard to find. Upon entering, I was accosted by a loud wall of noise and a lot of commotion. From my table I spotted at least seven televisions. And there were several games around the room also. If I hadn't been so tired, I might have just turned around and left. One really does need to be in the mood for a noisy bar! But I decided to stay... i'm glad I did. Though the primary items on the menu were mostly sandwich in style, I was able to find a full meal. I tried the roast pork, which was served with redskin mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The food was actually pretty good. I understand that their burgers are excellent. Perhaps next time I'll try one. My server informed me that their beer selection was on two lists. One list was seasonal, the other was their standard list. Being mostly a lager drinker and a white beer drinker, I was disappointed when she told me that they were out of the lager and the white beer! She was actually pretty good about asking me the kinds of beers that I usually enjoy... So based on that, she actually brought me tastes of two different ones: a dark Belgian and an IPA. They both were excellent! So that made it difficult to choose. However, I did select the IPA... And was not disappointed. My three-star rating is probably a bit harsh... But that's because this is the kind of place you really need to be in the mood for in order to enjoy it! The loud music, the conversational commotion of lots of younger people ( 20s to 30s), The seven different televisions blaring sports information, and the games around the room, all do really add up to a very intense and loud experience! Though the restaurant's food and beer are both nice, I decided to withhold two stars simply to make sure that people are understanding what it is they walk into when they arrive.

I'll start with the positives: 2/3 of the beers we had were very good, not amazing but enjoyable. I had the dunkel and my companion had the pilsner. Both highly drinkable. The pilsner kicked while we were there and my friend switched to a golden ale that was mediocre. Our server was attentive and made good beer recommendations. There was a good crowd of people enjoying themselves for a Tuesday night. The food was standard pub fare but it came out HOT and timely which I appreciate. Those were the good things. The atmosphere definitely leaves much to be desired. It's located in a large suburban shopping center and consists of a large square room with a drop ceiling, no booths and no decor. Sadly, the music was HORRIBLE - top 40/pop. I've been to hundreds of brew pubs across the country and this is the first one I've been to that plays music catered to teenage girls. I know this is Bear and not Philly but I just can't abide such a lack of character.

Good beer, I love that they make their own. I've been to "Hoppy Hour" twice now (M-F 4-7), specials $3 House beers, $4 select seasonal beers. Nice environment, good place to hang out. The wild game burger (Antelope) was tasty, and I can't wait to try the next game selection. The pint of cheese curds are delicious, and I highly recommend. Both times our servers were attentive, friendly, and helpful.

Beer is a 5 out of 5, hands down. Usually you get taken care of well at the bar. However the staff is and always has been atrocious in the dining area. I'm not one to leave even a bad tip, much less nothing at all, however this is the only place I've left nothing not once but twice. The first occasion, we seemed to not be taken seriously as patrons due to the age of a few people I was with (under 21 except for me). Took our order, delivered food, delivered the check. No silverware, no 'how is everything,' no 'did you need a refill/another beer.' The second time was at a bar top in which our "waitress" was annoyed at our very presence (we keep to ourselves, aren't rowdy or demanding). She would take drinks and not ask for refills, she was extremely rude, and even tapped me in the back with her serving tray when she noticed I was at the bar getting my drinks since we had waited over a half hour for her to come back to even acknowledge of us. While both of these people don't still work here, I can't help but notice that whoever is in charge of hiring and training is still hiring rude, inconsiderate morons. I'll sit at the bar, thanks.

Not a good experience this time. I have been here a dozen times over the years and this is my first review. Up until now, I've had a good experience dining here. My fiance and I rec'd a gift card for Christmas and decided to go there Sunday evening for our "date night". We arrived about 7pm and it was not very busy at all. Most of the tables were open and the majority of the guests there were all seated at the bar. I ordered the fish and chips which were generous portions (I coudn't eat it all) and my fiance ordered a special called the "Oopie Basket" which is full of deep friend goodies and a grilled cheese sandwich. I have no complaints about the food. Our issue was with the service. Our server, a young male with a sloppy, overgrown goatee was our server. He wasn't wearing a name badge and did not identify himself. It was slow so in between service, he was sweeping the floors and watching tv. He was extremely unfriendly and slow. We actually felt like were bothering him. Clearly he didn't want to be there. Or maybe he was having a bad day. Regardless, he made us uncomfortable. My fiance loves the beer there and got the "Monk" (high alcohol content....they only serve you 3!). I did not drink. Once our food was served it took him a while to "recognize" the empty glasses on our table and refill them (even though he was in close proximity the entire time sweeping the floors and watching tv). When our food was served, he did not check to see if everything was ok or if we needed ketchup (which I had to go and retrieve from the bar myself!). After we finished eating, we pushed our plates to the edge of the table to signify we were finished. He walked by several times, looked at the table and kept on going. Finally, literally 11 minutes later (we timed him), he came by and asked if we were ready for our check. Unbelievable. My fiance did not want to leave a tip, but I left 10% because I don't believe in not tipping....unless the service was really awful. Normally, we are excellent tippers (20-25%...as we know how hard servers work and how little they are paid). I would go back there for the quality of the beer and food but if and when I do, I will make sure we do not get that same server again. We didn't get his name, but I will reconigize him again.

My husband and I love Stewarts. They always have an interesting selection of beer, their crab dip is fabulous, a diverse sports fan base, and they have shuffle board and darts. The only reason I dropped it a star is because some of their wait staff is not attentive. Overall I love this place.

Just moved to The Baltimore area from Bear Delaware. I was sure we could find something to fill the void of not being able to frequent Stewart's, but have not found anything to come close. Great food, great beer, great service every time. Can't wait for a reason to go back to Delaware so we can visit again. The 2 year casked aged bourbon barley wine ale they broke out is still the best beer I've ever had!

I love going to Stewarts with friends for a good brew. It is a great late-night spot as they serve drinks and food until 1am (state law for liquor) every night of the week. They brew an awesome selection of beers there. My absolute favorite is the Wind Blown Blond Kolsch, which won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup in '08. They only brew that a couple times a year and I always look forward to it. They sell beer samplers so if you want to try a little taste of all their beers you can do that. Their Wacky Wheat and Irish Red Ale are my favorites of their standard beers. It is a fabulous spot for playing Buzztime trivia and there is some good competition there. They also have tons of TVs and some touchscreen games on the bar. There is a lot of seating and I've seen plenty of families eating there during the dinner hours. The food is generally really good. The only negative is that I think some of their items are overpriced. One time I tried these Rosemary Shrimp Skewers and paid close the $10 for only 4 huge shrimp. But overall their food is great quality for pub food. They have amazing Beer Queso Dip. They serve different soups everyday and I think their soups are excellent, especially the Maryland Crap Soup. They also have good desserts including ice cream from a local creamery made with Stewart's Highlander Stout. Thursday night is Ladies Night and drinks are super cheap ($2.50 for beer, wine, and mixed drinks!!!) for the ladies!

Yum! Very relaxed atmosphere, was able to hang out and get some work done (they are Wifi) with no pressure to keep ordering anything. This is a quality micro-brewery (yes it's in a strip mall) with some nice mature, award winning brews. Nothing watery or tasted like they had just flushed the lines with Lysol. Tried the "Lockjaw DOUBLE IPA"- oh it's a mouth full of hops, finished with the "Drunken Monk", their version of a Belgian Triple. Very well done. Was here on a Tueday, 1/2 price burger night. Had a mushroom/Swiss, tasty stuff. Friendly/helpful staff. You can see their menu, current brews and specials here: stewartsbrewingcompany.c… Hope to pass thru here again!

Always great food and great service. Oh yes, they also make their own beer! Stewarts is our go to place if we feel like going out and staying local. The food is almost always good (you go to the sameplace enough times you're bound to get a bad meal just by choice or other something happening.) If you're feeling extra hungry get the Braised Beef Tortellini or Man Pasta! Wash it down with a house beer and call yourself full.

I stopped in for happy hr just before 5:00 today There were four people at the bar and two bartenders. It took a while for them to even acknowledge me. When I finally got the oyster stout it tasted more like a coffee stout it didn't have a briny taste at all. The lady bartender seemed like she couldn't be bothered. She was way to busy socializing with the waitresses and waiters fooling around. I would hope the owner takes notice.

I would like to say that Stewarts Brewing was busy but, No! The fries were not fresh with my Chicken Cordon Sandwich and old tasting bacon on the Stewart Club. Just not impressed with them overall. When your crowd is 45-50 something's not right.

Beer is the main attraction - backed by a creative kitchen. Wild boar burger was delicious, smoked brisket got two thumbs up too. If you can try the house mustard - do! We had pretzel sticks and the mustard stole the show. Attentive staff, casual somewhat loud atmosphere.

I LOVE Stewart's! Great food, awesome atmosphere, and the wait staff is very helpful and really great. The beer is always awesome, and very appropriate for the season. Freshly brewed beer is always good, but its especially good here! Worth the money, and never a line to get it!

I went to this brewpub on a Saturday for a Where's George gathering. Usually, I'm not a fan of brewpubs or any establishment with "brew", "brewing", "tavern", or "pub" in the name. I don't drink and the fare is typically what I can find at a regular greasy spoon for less money. However, I'm willing to give anything a try. The parking area was a bit confusing because of the way the dividers and one-way lanes were arranged but there was more than adequate parking for a Saturday. Inside the restaurant, the ambiance was comfortable. The restroom seemed clean enough too. I had a chicken cheesesteak, which was unremarkable for the price level. There were two things I was unhappy about. Firstly, the server offered onion rings as the side for the cheesesteak but failed to tell me that this option costs extra. That's my biggest pet peeve with sit-down restaurants, especially non-chain restaurants that often fail to disclose all charges beforehand. Secondly, I had to leave before the rest of the group and asked for the check to be split so I could settle early. I watched the server punch in this request and it took only two button pushes on the touchscreen POS. Why then did they only do that grudgingly? Was that so difficult? I thought the food wasn't quite worth the money either but I'd have given them an average rating if it were not for those two service issues. As it stands, I wouldn't consider going back even if the Where's George gathering is held here again next year.

Good food and drinks. They have a nice selection of more unusual dishes. They take what would be a average dish and add their own unique twist. Everyone enjoyed their meal. And our server was very nice. Considering they brew their own beer, it was a bit pricey at $5 a glass. Its nice that Bear (Lil Philly) actually has a decent restaurant.

I kept passing this place and had no idea it was there. The bartender and waiter were very cool and their homemade brew was great. We took home two jugs. It's a big place with a lot of room to move around. If I had friends, it'd likely be a good hang out.

Great local brew! Dollar Dogs during Phillies Games. Definitely worth checking out and a local brewer worth supporting, if you are around.
