Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

This place has expanded at some point over the last few years, and it's just not the same. Sure, there are more tables, decent restrooms, and actual servers, but the "on the run" part doesn't really apply anymore. There is no longer a counter where you can grab a quick slice to go - you actually have to sit down and place an order. The pizza is good and the service is [fairly] fast, so I can't complain too much. If you're in River Run village and in need of some 'za, this is the place to go.

  • Brooke H.

My husband and I shared a pizza here. I thought the pizza was good and not too pricey for being at a resort. Angelina our server was polite and fast

Dang good pizza and fast! Recommended when your in the mood for pizza and a cold beer.

Excellent pizza dough, large salad perfect for 2. Friendly staff great remodel. Needs its own WiFi access though.

  • Brian B.

Really tasty pizza. They don't skimp on the toppings, but it's also put together so you can appreciate all the flavors. Great tomato sauce base, fresh herbs and veggies, tasty meats. Delivery in the village was only $2 extra--totally worth it to eat in front of our fireplace at our own pace. We'll probably order again on this same trip.

Yuck. The veggie pizza, Thai pizza, chicken fingers with fries were all very bland. Cesar salad was fine. Over priced. Great location. Service was good. I recommend Pizza 101 instead which is usually excellent.

Good pizza, good salads, good beer.....great service! Came in on a Wednesday night right before closing(sorry!) We were greeted right away with super friendly people! Yesssaaaaa! Had a beer and some small talk with the super cool bartender while we waited for our takeout order...what a great atmosphere with friendly smiles and a laid back vibe! Deal! I'll take it! We will absolutely be back!

  • Thomas R.

I've had frozen pizza from the grocery store that tastes better. Terrible sauce, crust is not good, and tastes like it's cooked on one of those conveyor belt things like all the cheap pizza chains use. If you know what good pizza tastes like...then stay far away.

  • Phil M.

Nothing exciting, but not bad. Fast service in a busy environment. I'd go back for the convenience of it being close and predictable. After I left, I let out some farts on the run.

  • Kristine N.

Good spot for a quick lunch and beer. Pizza is OK but it's a cheaper version than most places around the resort. Minestrone was yummy and perfect on a coooold day, side salad is huge.

  • Ryan R.

Pizza was great. Fresh and home made. Caesar salad tasted like it was out of a bag from the store. Wasn't bad, but nothing special. Service was alright-- Its a cheap restaurant staffed by people who moved to Colorado to be close to the mountain...not serve pizza for minimum wage. Great place to stop for a quick, tasty, affordable meal. I would recommend.

We grab pizza here every time we ski at Keystone. It's convenient and the pizza is great. Awesome ranch dressing (I think it's made from scratch), friendly service, happy hour specials on beer, wine, and wells. It's not fancy but we get consistently great pizza here.

  • Amanda H.

GOSH this place is incredible! Where else by a world class ski resort can you find $4 pizza slice (the portions are double-- you get two slices per order woohoo!) and $2.50 tall boy (16oz) PBR's!? I would avoid this place during peak hours (11:30-1:30) or else you'll have to suffer through a bit of a wait, but other than that you should be solid. There's a wide variety of choices, but to be completely honest, the cheese pizza was my favorite out of what my friends ordered. Tired of the snow? Feeling like drinking? Feeling like consuming delicious pizza? Feeling like not spending an arm and a leg? This is the place for you!

My 12 yr old daughter went to eat there with a friend. She was traumatized because they thought they could use Epic passes there and the manager took their passes holding them hostage for 3 hrs until someone could come pay. I was mad and left contact info for the owner, who instead of contacting me had Summit county sheriff call me to inform us we were banned from the restaurant and would be charged with trespassing if we came back. I think these people's tiny little Grinch hearts are probably showing through in the poor quality of their food. Give better people your business.

  • Ben R.

Pizza took forever to come out and we just got a medium cheese. Pizza was just ok. Service was friendly. For being called On the Run, you kind of expect the pizza to come out quicker.

  • Kyle D.

I've been eating here for a long time. Ever since they expanded their front of house the quality has gone to crap. This pizza is garbage. If you like and appreciate a good tasting pizza, do not come here.

Basically same as Pizza on the Plaza....affordable pizza to feed hungry skiers. Guess there aren't many affordable and accessible eating options in Keystone.

  • Phung L.

Come for the pizza and not for the appetizers which were rather bland...but after a couple of runs on the slope you're so famished with hunger that you really don't care at that particular point. The wings were soggy and way too tangy...the pizza on the other hand was delicious. I forget what pizza we ordered, but it had all the works: pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, and meat balls! The crust was crispy and light. I probably could have devoured an entire pizza myself. Good stuff! I'd rate this place 3.5.

It's ok, but gets 4 stars for being ok at a ski resort. We had the Mediterranean salad. It was a bit small, but tasty. My wife liked her gluten free pizza and the meat lovers made the kids and I happy. My only knock on the place is that it's very loud since the entire inside is hard surfaces and the sound bounces around.

A group of friends and myself rented a condo to celebrate New Years on the runs of Keystone Resort. We live in Denver and all hold Epic Passes, which means that frequent Keystone Resort. This is my first time dining at "Pizza on the Run". The initial service was what you would expect at a Pizzeria in Keystone, the food was sub-par at best. Shortly after we settled our bill for the amount of $109.11, we were asked to leave by a gentleman in shorts and a red hat, who appeared to be an employee of "Pizza on the Run". Between the six individuals at our table there were only two pitchers of beer consumed, this meaning that no one drank in excess. Not long after we were asked to leave by the "Pizza on the Run" employee a few more with our group arrived and wanted to order more food and and beer. There was no lapse in time when our group were not paying customers at the aforementioned establishment. I took it upon myself to speak with the Gentleman in shorts with the red hat and inquire why we were being rushed out of the restaurant. His response was one that defied all logic. To paraphrase our conversation, his exact words were, "I would rather have customers in here from Iowa that will come in and spend $100 and leave in 30 minutes". When I asked him why he felt this way, he could not elaborate. He said he was insulted by someone in our group, but when asked who insulted him he was unable to tell me who this was. I was perplexed when I learned that this gentleman managed the restaurant. Several of his employees apologized for his behavior, which leads me to believe this is not the first time something like this has happened. Several members of our group are combat veterans from both Iraq and Afghanistan and were treated as if they were not welcome in a place that they helped protect for so long. Needless to say I will never be dining at "Pizza on the Run" again and strongly recommend that no one else does.

Pizza on the Run is a nice little place. The pizza is pretty good and reasonably priced. Beers are not crazy expensive too. No happy hour on the weekends, other than that it's a pretty decent place in Keystone Village.

Super friendly wait staff. We visited during a chaotic Saturday night. Considering this place sits in the heart of a tourist area you would think there would be some impatience and attitude with tourists. This wasn't the case!! Patient and accommodating. Really good pizza and salads!

  • Stacy L.

Poor customer service. We walked in when the bar was completely packed. We just wanted a quick bite to eat so we got the food to go instead. While waiting, a large group left and the bar area was almost empty. We asked if we could eat in the bar area and they said no because it was meant to be for customers. First of all, we are customers. Second, the place was empty and it's not like we were trying to take away business because it wasn't there. On top of that, the pizza was mediocre at best. Bad food, bad customer service.

Poor service, awful food. Pizza has gone down hill. Frozen pizza is better than the flavorless cracker of a pizza they have. Stay away.

So my kids actually did like their pizzas here and my son ate every bit of his 10 inch personal pizza. I was not a fan of the gluten free crust if you ca call it that Basically they just threw the pizza ingredients on some round shaped ready type thing that was not a crust at all. They need to order a few Dominos pizzas to understand what gluten free crust should look and taste like. So food aside, I tried multiple times to call in a take out order and nobody would ever answer the phone. I put on our gear and schlepped over there only to find the hostess out front taking a cigarette break right in front of the entrance. She hopped inside when she saw us and another party coming inside. I just don't think your employees should be taking smoke breaks in the middle of the busiest time of service and especially right in front of the entrance to the restaurant. The pizza was ready in the allotted 20 minutes and at least for the kids was tasty enough. Its the only pizza I think in River Run so you don't have a lot of choices so its bearable if you are hungry.

Pizza on the run has the potential to be great but sadly it's not. I was told the pizza was cooked to order but they lied about that too. I'm sure if your staying at keystone you have no choice but to go there. The two slices are not what your thinking doesn't compare to New York or Chicago slices. You can ignore this review and keep them alive or you can help the cause and create an opening for an awesome culinary delicacy.

I would've given -5 stars if possible! My family and I were at a juvenile arthritis conference for the 4th of July weekend and had about an hour to kill before the next meeting. The kids wanted pizza and this place was at the resort where we were staying. The first clue that we should've left was that the mother and child in front of us who were also attending the conference left when they were waiting to be seated and the "hosts" didn't even acknowledge them! So we waited almost FIVE minutes before the host seated us. THEN we waited another 20 minutes without even asking if we wanted drinks! It took almost 30 minutes and this was after I had went to my room to get something and returned; my wife had to "chase" down the inattentive and inept waiter/host to ask when we would EVEN get drinks let alone place our order?! By the time I returned I HAD to go out to the patio to find this airhead and ask if we were even going to get drinks? He apologized and tried to justify the lame service by saying "we had to make more vinaigrette for the salad" that my wife had ordered with our meal while I went to our room. So another 10 minutes passed and by now our table was "volcanic." I kept my cool as "conditions allowed" considering my kids were with me and starving but this was ridiculous! So, he finally shows up with just MY order and disappears back into the ether attending to some imaginary guests outside on the patio. Still no salad and no drinks mind you; So at this point the pizza shows up and the drinks, but the WRONG salad! So the idiot decides to offer to "comp" the salad to which we didn't want it regardless: needless to say I took the comp and just paid for the pizza and sodas. It's bad enough it's legal to blaze up "legally" in Colorado but what's worse when you have employees that probably blaze up before, after, and probably on their goddamned lunch breaks and return to work in a "purple haze" and provide shitty to NO SERVICE is ridiculous. A 4/20 state sounded novel at first but seeing service like this in which I/We have NEVER experienced before in any state is atrocious! I know it's "off season" in the mountains but WTF? Wouldn't it make sense to provide better service to what little customers you attract? The idiot even had the nerve to tell my wife that it was "packed today" there was hardly anyone there? Maybe he was on ludes too! Avoid this place! We had better luck at Pizza 101 down the street!

Grabbed a pizza here after a long day of skiing. Two people sharing a small worked pretty well, and prices were decent for a base village restaurant. The pizza itself was good, not amazing - not overly greasy, which was nice, and cooked to perfection at the very least. I'm pretty picky about pizza anyway, so to be honest 3 stars from me is pretty darn generous ;) . Service was a little slow, but this could have been due to the fact that we sat outside (it was a pretty warm day).

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
