The Bacon Bloody Mary was AMAZING. I had the porker omelette and home fries which were pretty good. Nothing life changing, but decent food. The kids had biscuits and gravy that were good. My husband had a philly sandwich that was delicious. Our service was good, food was ready fairly quickly...all in all, I would recommend it and go back. Definitely worth going for the Bloody Mary alone.

One word - grits. Ok two words, cheesy grits. I cook grits often and often order grits on menus, but this blows everything out of the water, yes sadly even my own preparation. I should have walked into this place and just ordered grits, 3 or 4 orders of them. The other food was good, about average, but these grits had me licking the bowl. Haywood Cafe is a great spot if you're looking for a low key breakfast spot around the Keystone area. After 3pm they switch into sports bar mode and serve your regular bar food with lots of tvs around to watch sporting events. But please, if you come for breakfast get the grits. They offer a bacon bloody mary that they claim is spectacular, I thought it was average, but if you haven't seen anything like it before then get it. Pricing on their breakfast items is fair and the service is about average, but everything can be overlooked for the grits.

Great friendly staff! Delicious well priced food! Perfect stop for lunch, and there breakfast menu looked quite delicious as well. The Gyro is well worth the mess!

Came here because I see its one of the few places with 4star rating...got the French toast, which was just barely ok. I was glad they could modify my eggs the way I like them. The coffee was not good. The staff was really great though, but being the average consumer that I am, I would give Haywood more of a 2.5 stars, but that's not allowed on Yelp.

The Sexi Mexi Benedict was neither sexi or mexi. Our server was more hung over than the members of our party and graciously greeted us with "what do you want". This only happened after we patiently waited for our server to lose a game of Roshambo with the other servers before being forced to wait on our table. The bacon bloody Mary was the perfect hair of the dog and the home fries were awesomely crispy. I'm not sure when they started using taco meat instead of chorizo on the Sexi Mexi Benedict but it was a pleasant surprise that my intestinal fortitude appreciated in the end. The quarter mile walk down the hall to the bathrooms provided some much needed exercise at the end of the meal that helped propel this review to 3 stars.

Best breakfast we've had in Keystone. Eggs were fluffy and pancakes were perfect. Don't miss this place

Not sure where to start, so maybe a list is a good place: Really friendly waitstaff Good coffee Good pancakes Creamy grits that don't taste instant The best over medium eggs I've ever had. Not kidding. Was such a great treat to find this place by accident while searching for "breakfast" within a distance I knew I could bike to. Went back the next time on purpose. Nice that you can watch your bike while eating, too :) Will definitely be back at the Haywood any time we're up in the high country. SO GOOD!

Good unassuming sports bar that has great breakfast believe it or not. I have heard it is the place to catch all the football games in the Fall and the setup looked good. As for breakfast, the bennies are solid and for a good price too, especially for a tourist area. We eat with 2 locals that told us about this place and mentioned they eat here often so I feel confident saying this is a go to spot for breakfast in Keystone.

The side of biscuit and gravy was very good. However, it had no sausage in it. Would be nice to have a bit of sausage.

College football at 10:00 a.m., excellent Bacon Bloody Mary and breakfast in beautiful Keystone! What a great way to start a Labor Day Weekend!!

We enjoyed breakfast here two days in a row. The Sexy Mexy Bennie was delicious. The green chili was flavorful with a nice amount of heat for a Minnesotan. Avocado was a great addition though it was overpowered by the other flavored. I also like the home fries - crisp on the outside and soft inside with enough seasoning to make them interesting.

  • Anton M.

staff very friendly, good portion for the dollar. Clean location, plenty of TV for games..and portable speakers. We had the Hummus appy, HOME MADE! very tasty. I had the wienerschnitzle and my son the fish wrap, great portions and flavor. very accommodating plenty of selections on beer..

Perfect size omelettes that are delicious. The veggie omelette with a side of home fries is always on point. Oh and the cheesy grits (if you like grits) are so smooth and creamy. Plus you get complimentary cup of coffee to go :)

After seeing all the pictures of breakfast food, I'm kind of kicking myself that we didn't eat here, however...bacon bloody mary...delicious. The $1 mystery beer was interesting. We didn't go for it, but we came close. I did have an Avery IPA, which was nice and cold. Waitress was attentive and nice. Cozy little place...even though the two Jayhawk stickers on the front door were enough to make me want to leave (I'm a Jayhawk...not nice people). Honestly, I probably would've pushed to eat there if it weren't for the stickers.

Came here for brunch one morning after a ski trip in Breckenridge/Keystone area. I had a side of the french toast, which was nothing close to spectacular. I can probably make something more delicious at home, but I guess that's why people come to restaurants-- so that they don't have to cook themselves. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Bennie. You should never combine BBQ sauce and hollandaise. The BBQ is definitely over powering and I could barely taste the hollandaise, and i LOVE hollandaise. I also scraped some of the BBQ sauce off. I'll probably never order this again if I were to return.

I've been here twice for breakfast and each time the food is good and the service is fantastic. There is nothing fancy here - good, honest (i.e. 3+ eggs) omelets and your typical assortment of breakfast foods. The atmosphere is nice and un-pretentious while not being shabby

    (4)
  • Rick G.

I give it five stars for a sports bar at a ski resort. We have been here a few times for breakfast and dinner - great food and service. The atmosphere is warm and a great place to watch a game or have a drink.

  • Kurt P.

Friendly wait staff. Great bacon. Delicious food. Atmosphere= old style ski bar. Sports on all tvs. Sort of a diner style atmosphere with a bar. Never seen it too crowded not had to wait too long for a seat. Parking is right out front--- really want to try the buffalo chili, but only been here for breakfast. Mushy burrito- tasteless meat - left a lot to be desired.

Complimentary to-go coffee, delicious swiss breakfast egg dish, funny mugs, and amazing cheesy grits. Totally worth the trip.

We got carry out for brunch. It was delicious. I had the veggie Benedict, which was quite good. It was little skimpy on the vegetables. The servers were pleasant and efficient.

  • Delight I.

The cheesy grits and bacon Bloody Mary are really as good as everyone says! Plus, there are tons of TV's for watching football on a Sunday.

  • Sean P.

So normally after a nice weekend if skiing/boarding the breakfast burrito here is the way to go. Also have to try their bloody Mary's which have bacon infused vodka (one word delicious). However, expanded a little this weekend with the chicken fried steak with a side of biscuits and gravy. Both were good and my wife even liked the gravy and that is saying something as she normally does not like gravy. A solid place to go after a weekend or night in Keystone area. The wood does get busy during the weekend or ski season so just be prepared to wait a little but worth the wait.

    (4)
  • Tara G.

Four words: Bacon. Infused. Bloody. Mary. Seriously one of the best Bloody Marys I've ever had, and I make my own at home - no premade mixes allowed! - so I'm pretty picky. But hey, if you want a 'regular' Bloody Mary, go during happy hour, because their happy hour deals are awesome! I also had the turkey reuben and fries, both of which were really good and affordable. Service was prompt, restaurant was clean, and it's walking distance from River Run if you need it to be. Considering the much pricier (and no, not *better*) options in the village, this place is great.

  • Caitlin P.

Just a couple miles down the road from the resort and they boast one of the best happy hours you can find. We stopped here after a long day skiing and enjoyed many $1 mystery beers that were on happy hour. The food was pretty great too! We split the hummus plate and the veggie sandwich (both vegan!). The restaurant is no frills with TV's to watch the game and great service. Best part we got out of here with full stomach's, a light buzz, and it was only $22! That is by far the cheapest apres ski I have ever had...I will be back!

My husband and I went here for brunch and the atmosphere was very laid back and the food was amazing! He got the breakfast burrito, which was super filling and delicious - perfect brunch food. The cheesy grits were amazing just as the other reviewers have mentioned.

The was actually pretty good here. Service was a little slow but I was cool with that. Server was great. Here's why the 1 star: it was just my toddler and I and of course he had to go potty mid meal. Of course. I left EVERYTHING at the table. My cell phone was on the table. Jackets and purse on the chairs and my toddlers personal cup right next to his plate. I can back and the table looked different. I sat down and all the silverware was piled on my half eaten plate. My kids plates were rearranged. Totally looked like the table was bussed. Looked under my kid's egg plate and there was syrup on the bottom and under his pancake plate was hollandaise sauce which meant the bidder piled all the plates and then realized, "crap!" They are still here. So whoever laid out the plates again to try and play off they didn't just pile all the dishes together! I told the server and all she said was sorry. Mind you only half eaten!! I was pissed! I confronted the busser and she said she didn't realize we had only went to the restroom. Mind you the server knew. I just stood there for a few waiting for better response or an offer to fix it. So super annoyed part of this is that no one though anything was wrong with it. We were supposed to finish our meals after the plates where piled on top of each other. I paid and left a tip because it really wasn't the servers fault but was completely disgusted that was even attempted to be played off.

This place is a good deal for the area. The food is pretty good too. If you're grabbing breakfast, the cheesy grits are a must have. The Sexy Mexy Benedict was my favorite dish by far.

Fish wraps & buffalo chicken wraps don't sound ground breaking but they were delicious huge portions! And reasonably priced at $11. Score.

Generously giving Haywood 3 out of 5 because of better experiences in the past. However, based on our last visit they don't deserve that high of a rating. Something happened in their computer and our order was lost for 30 minutes. Before anyone realized it happened the place got really busy and it took what seemed like forever to get our breakfast. Obviously, the service was not very attentive and we had to repeatedly request refills for coffee. When our meals finally arrived they were hot and tasted good, but we lost lots of valuable time for activities. Accidents happen, the manager took off half on everything, however most of our group does not trust Haywood Cafe anymore.

Great diner-type food and ambiance. Lots of tvs to watch the game and pleasant servers. I really enjoyed the french toast and cheesy grits. Plenty of options for a vegetarian like myself!

Great poached eggs and perfectly cooked bacon. Good hot sauce selection. Big cup of coffee. Friendly service and plenty of TV's for sporting events.

Eggs Benedict was excellent. The poached eggs were spot on. Nice hollandaise, muffin was toasted perfectly. Ham was lean and tasty. Came with awesome cheesy grits, but very rich. When leaving, server offered a to-go cup for my coffee and brought it back freshly filled. Very nice touch.

I have been visiting the Haywood Cafe for over 6 years now and this place is by far the best sports bar in the mountains. They have a great happy hour lineup and the service has always been nothing but excellent. they also have the BEST breakfast in Keystone. and don't leave Summit County without trying one of their bacon bloody marys!, they are AMAZING!!! If you're looking for good food or delicious drinks go here!!!! Great place for apres ski

On our way back from Vail we thought we'd take a side trip through Keystone and have a little lunch. It was better than having some fast food in Silverthorn...or so we thought. We came upon the Haywood Cafe. It seemed like a good place because it was busy and open. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a mountain cafe in the off season, but having a clean waitress would have been nice. I mean come on! It's called SHAMPOO! Long greasy hair only made my greasy rueben seem even more gross. When I say my rueben was greasy, I mean I was basically eating warm lard attached to the bread. YUCK! The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the rest of my party said the burgers were decent. Definitely nothing to write home about or go back a second time for. If you want lunch in Keystone this is not the place. Go back down to Dillon and hit a fast food joint. At the very least it won't cost you $10 for a gross sandwich.

Apparently this is the place to go for breakfast. I've been there tiwce in the last 2 weeks and I've got to say the most memorable thing on the menu are their Screwdrivrs and Bloody's. The breakfast sando is not bad either.

We're locals in Summit County and with a limited selection of restaurants which can get old after a while, The Haywood is always consistently delicious and friendly. The staff recognizes our son on each visit, makes him feel special, and of course he loves the food and all the sports channels available. I was compelled to write this review after we enjoyed dinner this past Tuesday. Wife had the Wingie Dingies-her favorite, and I tried the Blackened Tuna sandwich. AWESOME! It was a generous sized meal, of which we enjoyed leftovers for Wednesday's lunch. Great job Haywood! My vote for best food and bar in Keystone!

Good find in an expensive town. Had a nice breakfast here which was more affordable than other options. The food was better than average but I wouldn't call it the best I've had. If I go back to Keystone again I would seek this place out a second time b/c you could actually get a seat and a quick meal without waiting too long.

I came here during off peak season, October. Haywood was half full on a Sunday as everyone was watching NFL football. I on the other hand came here for lunch, no beer, just lunch. My girlfriend told me the food was great here, she has a condo down the block, so we decided to get something for lunch. I didn't expect a burger, some wings and 2 diet cokes would cost $30.00. The food was par at best. My wings were sort of cold, small and tasted okay. But for 10 bucks, I expected more - more wings and more celery. Our server was great! He came around, introduced himself, took care of us just fine. Refilled out cokes a few times and made sure we were doing okay a few times as well. The wait staff has the chill, laid back, buddy buddy type service. This place is more bar than restaurant from my one experience. My girlfriends burger was just a burger, nothing special and it was still good. I do plan to come back for breakfast, since they serve it all day and I have heard they do better for breakfast. I was not completely disappointed, but I was not excited about my experience. I left wishing Haywood was better.

I'm not sure where we went wrong with the Haywood, because we saw mostly stellar reviews before we ordered. But there were eight of us and we were all...very...unimpressed. There was no room to eat inside at around 11:30 (another indication that it should be pretty good--it's packed even on a summer weekend!) so we grabbed to-go menus and ordered from our condo upstairs, and picked it up later. Everything was just, blech. The buffalo wings (which someone else raved about) tasted microwaved. The sandwiches were either too dry (pulled pork) or too wet (southwest wrap was like a piece of chicken in a tortilla with a bottle of dressing poured into it). Fries were ok as were chicken strips (although they were cold). It looks like people mostly like it there for breakfast and football watching, so maybe lunchtime takeout just isn't their strong suit.

Typically good mountain breakfast spot. The service is pretty good, they're busy on ski mornings, so they're not super efficient, but they are friendly. Good Eggs Benedict, which I always love to order when going out for breakfast, good omlettes, and good potatoes. So everything is "good, not great". The main weakness is the very limited kids menu. They only have one real option, and it is a "Mickey Pancake" and way too much food for a kid under 10. This place turns into a sports bar in the afternoon/evening - an interesting combination. I haven't been there for that, but there are lots of TVs at least.

  • Brandi W.

Amazing breakfast!! We were hesitant to stop in since there were no yelp reviews but we are happy we took a chance - highly recommend the breakfast burrito, baked Swiss eggs and the kids loved the pancakes and biscuits and gravy. We will definitely stop in again when in the area!!

The Haywood Cafe is the BEST place to watch NFL Games on Sunday in Keystone, before you drive home. They have NFL Sunday Ticket and have 30 flat screens throughout the bar. Most importantly, you can tune a table receiver to the game you are watching, to be able to hear the play by play....very nice. The service is lightening fast and the food is surprisingly tasty. When we were there, they had a $2 Rolling Rock and $1 Pint specials going on. They serve breakfast and lunch staples and also have a mean Hot Wings setup. Not to forget, they have an awesome, and I mean awesome, arcade in the back. And I mean, awesome. All the the old school machines that will take you back, and they only cost a quarter! Another bonus is their internet cafe. First 10 minutes are free. There are printers available, for $1 a page or something like that, so you can print out your boarding passes before driving home through the Eisenhower Tunnel (see Review). The Haywood Cafe is where we go after a quick morning sesh at Key when our teams are playing the afternoon games or the late games. It helps you avoid traffic and it's a great environment as there are always people rooting for every team playing.

I've eaten here many [many] times. I live in Keystone and this is a great locals and guests location for that good, every-day dining experience. Nothing fancy for the decor - just really nice food and a great location at the far east end of the valley.

I have different standards for ski town restaurants: I expect to be wildly overcharged for mediocre meals. My first choice would be to skip the whole scene altogether and whip up a budget-friendly meal back at the condo. (If there is a condo. Please let there be a condo, because otherwise it's the back of the unheated truck.) So when our group of 6 (including 2 kids) trooped over to Haywood, I was resigned to expensive 'meh' food, prepared and served by people who are mentally out on the slopes. Imagine my surprise when the food turned out to be excellent. The curly fries were addictive and everyone liked their entrees: pulled-pork sandwiches, cheesesteak, and fish burritos. The downers were the desserts--I've never before seen a 9-year-old take 2 bites out of a brownie and then push it away--and the prices, which were ski-town appropriate. But overall, I could definitely eat at the cafe again, if I couldn't convince everyone to take the cheaper option of making spaghetti back at the ranch.

We were looking for a coffee shop in Keystone and stumbled upon 'the Wood'. What a find. The food is simple and healthy. Big hits were the breakfast burrito and simple sandwich. Its a little pricey (I think we were around $70 for 5 guys each day), but the food is great and its definitely the place for breakfast in Keystone.
