My family of four kind of got here by mistake - I thought I had made a reservation at a different restaurant, but got the name wrong and we decided to try this since we had never heard of it or been in many trips to Keystone. It happened to be our 20th wedding anniversary, but we weren't expecting anything crazy, just a decent meal out. The atmosphere is definitely hotel restaurant and a little dated, including the music. The waiter was fine, although he thought that the "KC Pork Wings" were somehow actual wings. The salad bar is the only thing that lets me grant one star, as it was quite good. Fresh ingredients and lots of choice, although I noticed that they didn't have a reduced fat or calorie dressing. This was about the only thing I ate, so I am grateful it was good! I ordered a fairly "safe" entree - chicken pot pie. It was described as having a sage biscuit topping. My husband went with the pork "wings", my daughter had them customize a pizza, omitting the fancy ingredients and leaving just sauce, cheese and chicken, and my son, who is vegetarian ordered whole wheat gnocchi in a cilantro tomato sauce. We waited a fair amount of time for our dinners, but the waiter explained that the pot pie takes a little extra time, but was worth it. No problem for us. The pot pie arrived in a ceramic pot. I stuck my fork in about two inches to try to get down to the chicken/sauce component. There was about 1/2 an inch (at most) at the bottom of the pot. The chicken could've been canned, and the "sauce" was virtually absent. Just a few clumps of stringy, weird tasting chicken. No discernible vegetables or sauce under inches of biscuit. The biscuit was not completely done and wasn't good at all. My husband tasted it, made a face, and exclaimed, "They've given you a pot of glue!" His pork "wings" were edible and his mashed potatoes were fine, although he didn't feel great the next day. ??? My daughter's pizza was inedible. Way overcooked on an unappetizing crust. She left most of it on the plate. The whole wheat gnocchi arrived in a wide soup bowl. My son ate the twelve gnocchi, which were o.k., then was confused as he spooned up the sauce about exactly what he was eating. Sauce? Soup? He said it was a huge mass of ketchup with "a lot" of wine. I could see some canned tomato chunks and a few black beans. We made the mistake of nodding "good" when the waiter initially inquired if everything was o.k. When he returned at the end of the meal, he wisely directed his question about the meal to my husband, who was the only one who had eaten even close to half of the entree. Yes, we could've and should've complained, but we were tired and frankly didn't want anything they would've brought to remedy the disaster. We were laughing at how bad it was and having a good time, and luckily, the price wasn't outrageous. If you are staying at The Inn, maybe try it for breakfast, or the salad bar. If not, my recommendation is stay far away! (Oh - hard to locate and parking is scarce!)

We went here for breakfast each morning we stayed at the Inn at Keystone and it was a very good option. I would definitely recommend ordering a la carte or something off the regular menu instead of getting the breakfast buffet. What you get for the price of the buffet just isn't worth it. That being said...the rest of the food is good and comes out pretty quickly. The staff is pretty friendly and very attentive. Definitely a good call for getting a good hearty breakfast before heading to the slopes for the day.

the Inn and Bar I believe was under-new management. Rooms were comfortable. The breakfest (which is free) is Okay. The Happy Hour is limited, (4-6pm) and items. the bar pie (flat bread) is best deal. Dinners (the 1/3 bison burger is good) are a tad pricy as are the drinks. Staff is attentive and friendly.

Dinner is good, service is excellent, the breakfast was NOT good at all. We watched the fireworks from the restaurant as we ate dinner...that was nice. Beautiful view of the snow/mountains from the restaurant.

I was so excited when I learned that my accommodations included a buffet breakfast at Black Bear Grill. I am a huge lover of all things buffet and was happy to jump out of bed for a full warm breakfast before hitting the slopes. On the elevator ride down to the lobby/restaurant we noted other patrons with fruit. Turns out the Grill not only provides but is happy for you to leave with a treat or two following breakfast. The space was on the smaller side but well organized. Warm foods were served on one counter while water and coffee/juices/tea were on other nearby tables. As "complimentary with your stay" breakfasts go I usually steer clear from expecting too much. This buffet blew the others out of the water. The breakfast potatoes were top notch! Seasoned, perfectly cooked, and plentiful. The eggs were great as was the breakfast sausage and bacon. Had I been able to reel my eyeballs away from these savory foods I could have enjoyed a yogurt or oatmeal. My travel buddy also enjoyed his breakfast (I think he also secretly wished that he had not consumed our leftover tamales on the way down to breakfast so he'd have more room). There was bar seating or table seating. My travel buddy and I snagged a sweet window seat and the staff was quick to roll down the shades although we made no comment/complaint about the sun beaming onto us. Overall I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. If I have the pleasure of staying at the Keystone Inn again I will most definitely be down for the buffet breakfast (even if it isn't included in my stay).

I stopped in with my family on Thanksgiving for what seemed like a nice meal. For $30 a person, we were expecting a nice and satisfying Thanksgiving dinner. The only thing colder than the meat was the frozen apple pie. On Thanksgiving they only have three dishes all of which are subpar at best. I would rate these meals as about $10 per person. I would not recommend stopping at this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner, or any other time of the year. There are far better restaurants for slightly larger prices in the area.

This isn't a real restaurant. It's a kitchen in a hotel that pre-mixes ingredients and has a hard time accommodating vegans. The bar staff was friendly. The wait staff for dinner was a little slow.

After arriving and ordering a hot toddy, and a glass of wine, we waited over 10 minutes to receive our drinks. We were also the only couple at the bar at the time. The bartender seemed very overwhelmed already. After collecting our drinks, we moved over to the couch and sat in front of the fire place and played trivial pursuit(which was the best thing at this bar). I attempted to order another glass of wine, and it was poured into a snifter glass because the bartender claimed the dining area was using all the glasses they had. It took 15 minutes at that point and the bar top was half full. After ordering the last drink, that took me 30 minutes to even order, the bartender told me there were 30 other guests, that's why it took 30 minutes and said 'well, it is what it is!' I don't really find that professional. Once the manager caught wind of the horrible service, instead of being helpful, she got angry and raised her voice at me and my boyfriend, started crying, and stormed away. The only reason we chose this bar was the convenience seeing that we are staying at the hotel.

I rarely have one of those dinner that is soo bad that I have to send something back or want to leave the restaurant all together but I went here for a dinner with 5 co-workers while we were staying at Keystone for a conference and regretted every minute of it. Well almost every minute. We all ordered including myself ordering a black bean burger and two other girls ordering the ravioli. It was taking quite a long time for them to turn out our meal so they supplied us with a free spinach dip appetizer which was Awesome and the only reason why this place is even getting 1 star in my books. When our food arrived my black bean burger was full on MEAT, bloody and greasy and very much almost still alive. I almost didn't want to send it back because I know that they would just throw away that food, what a waste but I did cause I was hungry. But not only that both raviolis that my co-workers ordered were not cooked and the "tomato" sauce looked like Rotel out of a can type stuff. They did not eat their meals either. To make up for no one eating their meals and us all leaving hungry after an hours stay they comped some of out meal and provided us with ice cream which was made off site and was actually the best part. We all left and went to Dillon to a chain restaurant which sucks but we were hungry. So suggestion: Hope you don't get the same here that I did.

So this place is inside the hotel with stayed at and we had breakfast here the next morning before heading home. it was around 7am and we were the only ones there. We got a nice view next to the winder and our waitress was there to greet and take our orders right away. I order a basic breakfast plate w/eggs, hash, bacon, toast and side of sausage. It was HUGE! the prices are decent and the portions were enough to split 1/2 for breakfast and 1/2 for lunch. The hubby had the breakfast burrito. Now this was Deliciously Hearty and Huge!. Oh man it was Really Really good and way better than your average burrito.. Heck better than Jus Burritos and santiagos! He saved 1/2 for me to have for lunch. I really can still literally remember the taste of this burrito and would go back just for it. It's weird because it must be a seasoning or maybe that they put more meat than other places, that made the burrito so Tasty! I would recommend staying in this hotel and of course eating breakfast here for sure.

Recently we stopped in for a martini tasting when we were staying in some Keystone condos. I can't comment on the food really, all we had was a bit of cheese and crackers they had put out for the tasting participants; those were gone quickly, and they didn't bother re-filling the platters. Everything went pretty well for the most part, except me and the other people in my party were getting annoyed because people kept showing up for the tasting like a half an hour to an hour after it was supposed to start. Instead of the bartenders turning them away, they decided to "catch them up" and leave everyone who showed up on time waiting for their next drink. It didn't seem like they were very prepared for what they had planned to make for the night because they ran out of supplies after "catching up" the late comers to the present round, so even though we had been there first we ended up having to try another kind of martini because they used it all on the late comers. Anyways, I can say that the bartenders worked their tails off to make sure everyone had a good time, but I think the whole thing should have been better planned. Or, someone should have been around to manage the stragglers so they didn't put off the original patrons. The parking situation was a bit confusing, trying to figure out how to get into the place, and once parked where the bar actually was. There weren't any signs from the parking garage telling you where you needed to go so that was slightly annoying.

Went with some friends, had the trout (signature dish) and pork wings, both dinners were fantastic! Service was great, manager was attentive to all guests, bread pudding for dessert is a must. They host football Sundays at the bar during ski season, we'll definitely return.

We enjoyed dinner at the Black Bear Grill. I liked the atmosphere - casual in the bar area and a bit nicer in the dining area, but definitely comfortable. Our food was good and flavorful, their signature trout dish and a burger. I especially was pleased with the service. We had a very friendly and personable waitress.
