Great food, nice casual atmosphere, free wifi, good menu, good coffee. Richard was the best!

While in Sedona, this was my families first breakfast venture in town. My sister and I split a short stack. And I ordered a side of bacon. The pancakes were kind of bland for me. But edible. Bacon was great. My mom ordered the French toast and it was massive, but very tasty. Service was great. No real complaints. Was able to grab a table immediately.

We had the Blue Moon Specialty Pizza and it was AMAZING! The onion rings are $7.50 but you get a huge basket and they are worth the price! Don't leave without trying them. The place was super busy but we noticed this time that most customers ordered sandwiches. We didn't try them but next time we will as they must be even better than the pizza!! We love the pizza!!! Our kids love the pizza!!! They have some very interesting reading material while you wait that totally kept us entertained. You have to go check it out for yourself to know what I'm talking about. LOL! Okay, it's a strip mall kind of place (hole in the wall), but it's the kind of place that delivers good food at a very fair price!!! We keep coming back for the food and the experience!!! We have been here many times in the past and it is consistently great so I would highly recommend it!!

Same as 'the Blue Moon Cafe' listed separately as of my review. We ate outside which borders the parking lot, and a stellar view of landscape with some roadway thrown in. Not the finest dining experience, but if I were limited on time and not prone to a different p,ace every time, I would have had no problem returning here. The coffee was decent (I am a bit of a snob when it comes to coffee), and the plain breakfast fare was decent in both quality, speed and size.

On a family road trip through Arizona, stopped through this place and was very very happy with the food and service! The biscuits were flaky and light, so good! The pizza was delicious as well. Definitely going to recommend this place to others!

Food was good as was service. The place is in an old building so it looks a little ruff but we sat outside bwcause we had the doggs. Weather was nice, it was the perfect day to be outside. Paul Bunyan Pancake is huge!

After ten minutes no service no water no nothing we decided to leave. As we were leaving a lady at nearby table had just received her check and told the waiter she never got her coffee, another reason to skip this place. Went down the road to much better service!

This restaurant is literally a hole in the wall and when you walk in that is exactly what it looks like. Service was slow the waitress had an attitude and they tried to add on a 20 percent gratuity for a party of five. Only 1 bathroom and it is REALLY scary. Food is not so good. Mediocre at it's best. Would not recommend Will not return.

Just aweful. Service was sooooi slow and the chicken sandwich was nothing short of a joke. Keep driving.

  • Meg C.

Food was over priced for what it was and the service was nothing really exceptional. The real issue was when we were checking out and our server had to tally our bill by hand. I'm all for it if they can actually do math. Had to have him punch it into a calc 3x's before he got it right. Also if the owner reads this BUY SOME DAMN STRAWS. If your business is doing so poor that you can't afford straws it's time to lay down and give up. I don't want to use some random coffee stirrer your waiter pulled out of the abyss to stir my ice tea.

Any relationship to the brewery? Nah. But they did serve tall frosty ones of namesake beer. COol. The pizza was great - big enough for two of us, along with splitting a salad. Server was super friendly, and service was prompt. Diner atmosphere. Very loud second server behind the counter could have toned down some of her rhetoric. Not offensive, just....loud.

Stopped in with my wife and 2 dogs. Ate outside on the patio. Very pet friendly and the food was very good.

Worst food. Turkey burger was raw. Grilled cheese was disgusting. Enjoyed my blue moon. That was all.

The food was acceptable though overpriced. Really bad service though, bordering on dishonest. The waitress added on an $11 tip (nearly 20%) to the bill with no verbal or written indication that she'd done that. Every other $ amount on the check had a food description next to it. Then at the bottom there was a total of over $56, then approximately $3.75 was added (with no description) bringing it to a new total over $59, then $11 was added to that (with no description) bringing it to a new total of over $70. I asked my husband "Do you think that is tax & tip?" I'm fairly certain our waitress assumed we would not notice her added tip and would give her an additional standard tip of our choosing. When my husband went inside to pay he asked a different server at the register "what is that $11? Is it a tip?" She looked confused and hesitant and said "I guess so..." We were not a large party of people (only 6), and there is no signage anywhere that the tip will be added on automatically... so I believe this is a personal practice on the part of the one waitress. When our waitress came out again to pick up our plates my husband asked her about the charges added onto our check and she tried to brush it off like it was a FAVOR to us, "Oh, yeah I just went ahead and added it on there for you." Then tried to make excuses, "I was going to tell you then you went that way and then I went that way..." Then quickly changed the subject to tell us about the tax rate in Sedona. Perhaps she was ensuring herself a large tip because she knew her service was substandard. She completely forgot to take our food order after our drinks, for about 25 minutes or more. We were about to go find our waitress to see what the problem was when she finally came out to say she thought she had already taken our order. Then at one point she had to tell me all about her dog bite, finger surgery, isolation at the hospital, learning to swear & being threatened by her mom with a bar of soap and getting her butt spanked... All the while I'm just wishing she would go do her job and leave us in peace because I want to spend time with my family & kids. One last complaint, several times she came around to try to take my kids plates before they were done and kept commenting on them taking their time to finish. We will never go to Blue Moon again.

Service is slow but the food is good and the server (Ana) was friendly. Had a chicken burger and it was tasty & moist. Hubby had burger with jalapeños and he said it was everything he hoped for. FYI they are in the process of painting the bathroom so not so scary. Give it a try.

Very simple review and advice. Stay away from this place if you are in the village and want food. There are much better places right down the street. The food and service here are some of the worst I have ever had and I have eaten in some real shit holes over the years. You have been warned..

  • Suzi G.

Looks like a good place to order authentic Mexican, but the huevos rancheros was all beans and super greasy. I couldn't eat more than a third because the pool of grease was staring at me. The view is great and convenient for anyone staying at nearby lodging.

  • Lisa M.

Just, don't. Two burgers, one medium and one medium rare, one veggie burger, all cooked to charred and inedible. Homemade chips also scorched and tasting of old oil, and onion rings similarly charred to carbon. Great view of bell rock is the only redemption, but better hiked than viewed from this diner of food sacrilege.

We stopped here on our way to Phoenix from Sedona, for coffee. We walked in and should have went with our instincts to walk out. We ordered iced coffee,it was undrinable. The walls are covered in "art",covered in dust. We threw out our coffee and stumbled upon another shop up the street.

We went out for breakfast every day while in Sedona, this was by far the best! We returned for a second day. I ordered the omelet with a side of avocado, was excellent. Tried my friend's pancake, we agreed was one of the best we've had! Well worth the money!

We will be coming back next trip to Sedona. Food was great. We ordered pizza - hot, great cheese, sauce and crust. Also homemade potato chips are excellent. Crispy enough for dipping. Club sandwich was typical club - lots of meat. Looking forward to trying daily special and other menu items. Waitress was upbeat, very friendly. Nice touch is humorous books provided at every table to read while waiting for food.

  • Diane P.

The waitress was friendly, the ambiance was minimal, and the food was just ok. It was your average breakfast....nothing special. My husband had the scrambled eggs with sausage and hash browns and toast (blah). I chose the short stack of pancakes. (A little chewy and not much flavor). Nothing creative to chose from.

  • Christine H.

Decor was cute. Food was mediocre, service was BAD. Husbands hamburger was was ordered MR, came out very well done, my chicken sandwich was just ok. Waitress never came back to ask if everything was fine because she was too busy sitting with her boyfriend. We had to go to the register to leave to get her attention. Tip reflected the bad service.

Great experience! Went here with the family (wife, infant son and self) for lunch Saturday afternoon. The drink server came over and we both ordered local beers. These came quickly. The actual server took some time to arrive but when he did he was super friendly and very knowledgable of their menu. I ordered the fiesta burger and wife got a philly. The good was super fast and I loved the burger. Family friendly, funny decor, great quick food/service.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast before heading out of town. An hour later, we were still waiting for our food. I will give the waitress credit for trying, but I'm not sure what took an hour to make an omelette and breakfast sandwich, apparently in that hour they couldn't even find time to toast the bagel or bread. Oh, and then it took 20 minutes to get the check. If you aren't in a rush and want mediocre food at best, enjoy.

Stop turn around run!!!! Horrible service food is below average. After reading the reviews I really did not want to even try this place but it was late and we had a long drive home and nothing else was open sooo here it goes First off service here is ridiculously slow. The waiter was frantically rushing around and would shout things to the kitchen loud enough to wake the dead. The waiter was blunt and unfriendly I felt we were bothering him by making him wait on us. This is definitely In the running for worst service I have ever had in my life. Now let's move to the food I ordered a cheese burger medium well and received a charred dried piece of meat. My husband ordered a pizza it was nothing memorable. My daughter had a slice of pizza and the sauce tasted like tomato sauce out of a can. My mom ordered a country fried steak again nothing worth mentioning. I will never ever come back here and I would recommend you go somewhere else awful

This was one of my favorite places to eat in the Sedona area. I go to Sedona often from Flagtsaff for mountain biking during the winter and it was our standard stop for lunch after biking. Sadly during the last couple of months the service has been declining to a point that we will not be going again. When it takes more than an hour to get burgers, I don't care how good they are. I think they need better servers and more of them with some basic sense of urgency and customer service skills. I am hoping that management sees these reviews and takes care of the issue so that we can go back again.

This place was amazing! We were looking for a diner for breakfast on our honeymoon and drove past this place. The portions were excellent and it was hands down the best bacon I've ever had. Will definitely be back!

  • Mya T.

What a find! this place was worth the drive out of the Sedona to find. We were starting to get fed up with the high prices and low quality of food in Sedona and sought out an alternative in Oak Creek. The food is terrific, the prices are perfect, and the staff was awesome (the snooty tourists on the patio needed to be smacked, but that was my only complaint)

Food was great and my kids RAVED on the chocolate malts as the best malts they had ever had. Chicken and Philly sandwiches were very good. Family owned atmosphere and decor. Really great choice! Make sure and get Austin to make your malt!

Went here several times while in town for the Jazz Festival in October. My colleagues and myself went here for lunch, breakfast twice and a late dinner of pizza, salad and sandwiches. The waitstaff is friendly and fast. Yes, you have to be a little patient waiting for the food, but personally I have no complaints. I thought everything I ordered was really good. This place was across the street from our hotel and it was very convenient. Everything was reasonably priced also, and they serve beer and wine which is also inexpensive. I ordered cheese omelets for breakfast on two different occasions and both times were very good.

Awful. I come to Sedona every year at least twice per year and have been doing so for many, many years. I have watched this place go slowly downhill. Last year our experience here was so dreadful, I didn't think I would come back. Then I thought that maybe the waitress was just having a bad day. Obviously, however, this is the new trend. Last week we were in Sedona for a week and decided to give Blue Mood Cafe another try. When we walked through the door, the waitress gave us such a look that we felt we were imposing on her for coming in. We were so hungry, we didn't want to drive anywhere else. Slow does not even begin to describe the service. 15 minutes for a cup of coffee and four waters, 25 minutes for 2 cups of hot chocolate and there was only one other table of 2 people in the place. When more people came in, they had their drinks, etc., in a flash. When I went to the counter to ask where the drinks where, she rolled her eyes and told me she was getting them. If we hadn't already ordered the pizza we would have left. The pizza was not worth waiting for. We will not be back. Too bad because many, many years ago, this place was great.

Hiking Bell Rock trails gives you an appetite , didn't feel like driving and needed to eat and rest before going back to Sedona. I've seen this diner several times but figured it was a coffee shop and didnt expect much. The Good: Wait staff was extremely friendly Very casual Big menu with good choices Big portions Homemade potatoe chips The Bad: Broken air conditioner Undercooked Turkey Burger took 20 min to be remade Turkey burger was still undercooked :(

My sons and I came up from Phx a couple yrs ago & this was the only good place we found to eat. Tried the Wendys down the street & it was horrible. Found this place & loved the food!! We have been up several times since & we ALWAYS eat here...only place in fact. Have tried some restaurants on main street Sedona & didn't like the food plus way over priced. We love the food at Blue Moon...servers have always been friendly...prices not unreasonable. We are headed back up next week...just for the day, but plan on eating there twice. Pizza has always been great, love the chicken sandwiches, omelets, onion rings...lots of yummy choices!!

Stayed at the hotel across the street and this was an easy choice. Unfortunately the food was just mediocre (being nice here folks) and the service was super sloooooow (but they weren't that busy, go figure). Tried the broasted chicken dinner which turned out to be strangely like greasy fried chicken. Substituted cole slaw & fries for a "house salad" - translate bowl of iceberg lettuce w/ carrots & little more. The biscuits were tasty. Looked like the place could use a good cleaning. Overall it was something to eat but I was not impressed and do not expect to return.

It's taken me too long to write this review. The first three times I ate at the Blue Moon Cafe, we were staying at the Bell Rock Inn across the street. We could hike all day, come home for cocktail hour, then walk across. So two dinners and a breakfast. The first dinner, I had the fish and chips and everyone else had pizza. It was all really good and we were all happy. We ate on the patio and the service was excellent. Next morning---breakfast. I had the huevos rancheros. The place was a lot more crowded on a Sunday morning so it took a little while to get our meals for eight people, but whne it came, it was hot, tasty diner food. Yum! Dinner that night---I had the taco salad---it was okay---and everybody else ate pizza again because it was so good the first time. Freaks. And they were happy. So we went up last week with another big group and ended up there for an early dinner. Our party filled half the restaurant. First major issue was---as to be expected---half the folks didn't order pizza but those nice, healthy chicken sandwiches, only to have the waitress inform them that the cafe was out of chicken. Dead silence. But after a moment, the chicken folks reassessed and ordered a variety of other sandwiches and entrees. DH, who loved the pizza, decided to spread his wings and ordered a Philly Cheese. He said it was okay, but not Penn Station. I caught sight of a small sign behind another patron's head---the only sharp-eyed person in our party---and ended up ordering some of their homemade posole. Kill me now. The only posole that I have had that is better was mine. Perfect balance of heat, nice amount of tender pork---could have used a bit more hominy, but the broth was to die for, I was so dang happy, chowing that down. And it was like a bottomless bowl. I ate until I was full and still had some to bring home. Yay! So for sure, The Blue Moon Cafe is our Go-To place when we are in VOC. And I like it's a family run joint. That counts! Down with chains!

We were staying in the area, and pizza delivery sounded really appealing, so we made a call to Blue Moon Cafe, the closest pizza place to our location. The first night, no one picked up the phone and we gave up. The second night, no one picked up the phone, so we just decided to go in. It was about an hour before closing. The girl who helped us was nice, and we ordered two pizzas, for which the price was astronomical! We were hopeful that the food would knock our socks off. When we got our food forty minutes later, we brought it home, and ingredients we had asked them not to put on it were present in abundance! Many of those ingredients were actually wedged into and underneath the cheese, making it incredibly hard to get rid of them...Overall, for the steep price and all of the trouble, it is really not worth it. We wish we had gone elsewhere for dinner, even if their chocolate shake was very tasty... Additionally, while we were there waiting for our pizza, a customer walked in to order food but was turned away; the proprietors claimed that they had closed forty-five minutes before, which was in direct conflict to the hours listed on their door. I found that odd...

Stopped here to have ice cream and a drink. The server did not seem too happy we were only there for a small treat. The service was slow, and not friendly. When we tried to use the rest room, we each (we were two people) had to wait even though we were the only people in the restaurant as customers. The beer was good, my husband enjoyed his shake. It was not good enough to return and deal with the scornful servers.

Real neat little family owned restaurant. Good burgers good chicken sandwiches huge meals. Also great homemade chips.

Stopped in for breakfast while in town last week. To start with, the coffee wasn't great, just okay. I ordered steak and eggs and they were great. The steak was fairly thick, 6 oz, perfectly chargrilled to medium rare. The eggs were just as ordered, over medium with cheese melted on top. The hashbrowns were shredded style, and good. I was stuffed, probably because I ate every bite, including the sourdough toast. There were some excellent-looking breakfast sandwiches around me. Service, excellent. Enough said - four stars for the great steak and eggs - recommend for a hearty breakfast, but don't expect great coffee (IHop quality, not Starbucks).

Just...Gross. The food at this place is just AWFUL and the restaurant is dirty. The only saving grace was our friendly waitress. I have eaten better food at Denny's. I don't know who is cooking in the kitchen but it's terrible. DON'T waste your money here. You'd do about the same if you purchased a Jimmy Dean frozen meal at the grocery store and popped in in the microwave at your hotel. For 3 of us, it cost over $30. They brought out a sticky (probably microwaved instant) Kraft mac and cheese for my niece and my sister's "spinach" omelette was FULL of black olives and spinach clumps (probably came out of a frozen bag). My two eggs were overcooked, dried out, and looked like they were fried in a dirty skillet. My hash browns most likely came from a frozen bag as well. The only decent part of my breakfast was my English muffin. Hard to mess up an English muffin, I guess. I wouldn't recommend this place. I'll never go back until they are under new management and hire a real cook. My 15 year old nephew cooks better. It's such a shame to see a restaurant with so much potential, in such an amazing city with a great location just f*&king around like this.

I usually like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt but the experience was to bad to not warn others. The server was stretched too thin and never refilled our drinks. The mac and cheese was from a box, the salad wad old and not cut up, and the chicken strips were inedible. Staff ate food in front of you in the prep area and definitely shared to much information with the customers. This place is ripe for tv show to fix it. The pizza looked okay but up to you find out, not for me.

Breakfast was awful. We were only table in there & it took forever then eggs arrived with cold piece of cheese sitting on top. We ordered toast dry & it came soaked in butter.

This is a great little cafe to visit for breakfast while in Sedona. Our waitress was so friendly, I was disappointed that we could not return to say good bye prior to leaving Sedona. She most definitely made us feel welcome, something often lacking in businesses these days. THe coffee kept coming, the food was served quickly, it was ample servings and tasted great. We enjoyed our breakfast outside on the patio, with a wonderful view of the amazing red rocks. This is a casual cafe with a family feel and I hope to visit this restaurant again. This a review based on our breakfast meal.

I love the Blue Moon Cafe, it is an absolute gem in Sedona. It's probably the best diner I've been to in all of Arizona and whenever I'm in Sedona I make a point to go here and take all my friends and family. The food is clearly home cooked and well seasoned. The chicken fingers are arguably the best around. I've also had the California chicken sandwich which was just perfect. I'd suggest trying their home made onion rings because they are absolutely perfect but I am not a fan of the sweet potato fries.

We took our kids out for pizza. Lucky for us kids under 10 don't mind bleh pizza. Fries were good. Soda was good. Ranch was good. Service scared the crap out of me, thank goodness my husband was with. "hostess" asked how many, we replied, then she just turned and walked away. Blank stares exchanged between husband and I and we decided we better follow. Hello? How about a little "this way" or some kind of acknowledgement? Price was ok. Nothing terrible, nothing great. I hear the breakfast is good.

We stayed at the Wildflower Inn across the street and ate here for dinner at the recommendation of the front desk clerk. So glad we took her advice! We ordered pizza and we both agreed it was one of the best pizzas we have ever tasted. (And I am somewhat of a pizza connoisseur!) Service was a tad slow, but nothing to get upset about. Enjoy a glass of wine or a beer and relax. You ARE on vacation aren't you??

  • MJ H.

I was really impressed with his place. Pizza and omelette are really good and so are the fries. I must say the fries were probably the best I've had in a very long time. I like the atmosphere too. The staff is friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back.

We went there because I remember Beth and Bill was recommending this place on the radio. We love another place Beth suggested before. So we decide to give it a try after hiking at Sedona. The food is greasy and the onion on the top of pizza is uncook. The pizza is definitly over price. After we ordered a large pizza, the waitress asks if we want to have a nacho while we are waiting. It was a mistake to say yes. When we looked at the bill, the small size of nachos costs 5 dollars. AND It tastes bad ( not fresh at all.) We ended up paying $30 plus tip for a large pizza and a small nacho and came home with a box of pizzas that either of us want to eat. You can tell how bad the pizza is. I will give 0 star if I can.

Went for breakfast one morning while on vacation. The server was very busy but did a decent job of keeping up. The food was nothing special but had generous portions and we were too hungry to care. My beef with the place was how filthy it was. One girl was wiping down the tables with a cloth that was so nasty you could smell it when she walked by with it in her hand. The kicker for me was the hideous bathroom (and there is only one). I had to walk down this long hall full of trash on the floor, cobwebs in the corners, and a fish tank parked right outside the door to the kitchen half full of green slimey water and no fish. Ugh!

Well, we've been coming to Sedona for years, and have always wanted to try this place, because we heard the locals like to frequent it, and this is usually a good thing. I have to say we expected more. The waitresses were sweet, too young to really be engaging in that Flo from Alice way, but they seemed to work hard. Now, the most important thing, the food, also expected more, literally. This place has the potential to be a great comfort food place, but the portions were small, and nothing really special. The decor straddled that fine line between dated and cozy, again missed potential. With a lot of places in Sedona closing relatively early, Blue Moon Cafe is good in a late pinch, but otherwise there are many other options i'd pick during "regular" business hours.

Eh, my chicken sandwich was a little overcooked, the fries are okay. I have nothing else to say, it was eh.

I wanted to like this place, staff was nice and it was more of a local diner. We ordered take out and the waitress said it would be out super quick. We waited at least a half hour for a blt, soup, and a dessert. My husband said sandwich was decent, soup (tomato bisque) was yuck- tasted salty and tasted like bacon grease (i don't eat meat, so this was extra yuck to me). The fries were obviously frozen, but they had a nice seasoning. The waitress asked if we wanted our dessert heated, we declined, but upon opening, the dessert was frozen...umm... The girl who took our order went out for a pizza delivery so we had to wait for her to return to have our food (paid for in advance) given to us, so it as earlier mentioned, took a long time and it was not busy. I would also like to mention, although I hated the soup, i ordered a bowl and was charged for it, but it came as takeout in a tiny cup.

Good food! My Father-in-law says the biscuits and gravy may be the bet he's ever had. This from the mouth of a born and raised Texan. My Santa Fe Chicken sandwich was good, but I little over done. Don't skip on the tomatillo, it was the bet part. Hashbrowns were textbook. I think many of the poor reviews are based on service. Not very organized :/

went here after a 5hour hike and was starving. The decor is pretty cool, lots of vintage posters and definitely a "homey" look to it. The service was good and everyone was super friendly. The burgers were kinda MEH, but the fries were AWESOME and i'm not even a fry-type-of-person. I gave it 3 starts because I've had better burgers and because the crazy lady that told us about her "calling to come to sedona" and how she told my friend that he had a "soothing" voice out of nowhere (while i was in the bathroom) was kinda creepy. Still, if you are in Sedona, I would support a local business like this rather than go to one of the many fast-food chains that are there, 24534i58356363 times over.

This was our first trip to Sedona. Since we stayed at the Hilton, there didn't seem to be that much on our side of town open except the Blue Moon for breakfast. Our waitress was friendly and service was pretty good considering they were slammed with people. My husband ordered an omlet and I indulged in chicken fried steak. The portions were SO big. He was more than happy to finish half of my chicken fried steak for me. This place is great if you are staying on that side of Sedona and need a yummy breakfast,

I've been to Sedona 3 times in the past 3 years. The first time I came here I was searching for a small place to have lunch and decided to give Blue Moon a try. Every time I visit here now I come to Blue Moon at least 2 or 3 times. It is a fun little hole in the wall restaurant on the edge of the Village of Oak Creek. The staff is fun and very friendly, the food is great and the restaurant itself just has this fun feel to it. Also the owner pops in from time to time and likes to make sure you are enjoying yourself, as well as joke around with you. The scenery, the weather, the food and everything else in the area is incredible, but the people are what make the area great. And the folks at Blue Moon are no exception. They'll make you feel welcome. As for the rest of it, the service is very fast, even when the place is packed. The wait staff doesn't disappear after you order like in some places, they are very attentive. And the price is very good, especially for a tourist town like Sedona. Come here for breakfast, lunch or sit under the blue lights outside at dinner time. No matter what, you won't be disappointed.

Breakfast was good , but be prepared to wait a bit. Really good sourdough toast! About $24 for two breakfasts with coffee, a decent price for the area. I would return, but only if we didn't have immediate plans after. Service was friendly, but it took about 15 minutes for our order to be taken and another 35 ish for food to come.

I give the Philly Deluxe a five star rating. All of the sandwiches and pizza are pretty good at Blue Moon Cafe. I've had some less than desirable salads but everything else has always been good quality and the servers are always friendly.

Best selection of Blue Moon bottled beers in the country (besides the brewery). The food is solid: great chicken sandwiches and burgers, especially the ones with the green chiles. Nice patio view of the red rock! Friendly service.

Great breakfast place! We were looking for something where we could sit down, but wasn't $14 per person. Our simple orders cam with so much food, we walked away very happy campers & the cost was about $7 per person.

I sat for more than 20 minutes outside one Saturday morning waiting for someone to take my order. By the time she got to the table I decided to just order coffee because I'd lost my appetite due to anger. I had to wait another 20 minutes for the second cup and cream (which was missing the first time around). They knew they screwed up so comped the coffee which was appropriate. The atmosphere inside is kinda dumpy and all things considered I can't figure out why I'd go back. Two stars - one for the free cup of coffee.

We have been to the Blue Moon many times, today was not their shining moment. Service was very poor. The server took our order and the next time we saw her was when we had to have someone find her to get our check. The prices seem to be tourist driven. The breakfast menu is not as extensive as one would look for in a place advertising breakfast all day. A $2.50 cup of tea seems high for a cafe. The food is still not bad, but the experience was not very enjoyable this trip.

We're staying in the area and thought Blue Moon would be a good breakfast spot. I had the pancake special - a short stack and ham. Two big pancakes were tasty and a little chewy the way I like them. But the ham was only two little slices, although good ham. Coffee nothing to write home about. Service was excellent and efficient. We ate and left in less than an hour. It's not fantastic but pretty good standard fare.

Wonderful place! Who knew? Great food...always get the chips, they are homemade! Daisy the dog was welcome outside!

Stopped in for a "quick" lunch on the way back from Sedona. Food was ok after we finally got it after about 1 hour! Servers seemed lost most of the time and we were not the only ones to receive poor service. Don't stop here unless you have time to spare

Prices are higher this trip and food not as good. Everyone in this place seems to be spastic and very off kilter. We will not be returning to the Blue Moon. Just not the pizazz it had shortly after it opened in the early 2000s

Breakfast is never too impressive, but this is better than average. Great bacon and eggs, very good marbled ryebread. Crumby potatoes. My wife liked her food pretty well. Very nice wait-staff and pleasant atmosphere. Good value for sure!

The best pizza I've ever had. We sat outside overlooking Bell Rock. Wines were a great value for a glass to the rim! They even made a birthday dessert for my daughter. This place is a hidden gem.

My Wife absolutely raved about how tasty her Calif. Chicken sandwich was. The owner made it a point to come over and say hello and point out some of the Treasures he had on the wall. We enjoyed the quirky reading material. I'm not sure if Tim noticed our out of state liscense plate and if that what prompted the interaction prior to his leaving the establishment to his capable staff. They were also friendly.

We were drawn to this place by a recommendation from our resort. We ordered some late night delivery because the restaurants in Sedona close down very early! We both ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwiches and potato chips. It was very good and the potato chips were homemade as well. I had read where the Philly is one of the specialties at Blue Moon and it's true! I also ventured there for breakfast because it was convenient and the service is wonderful. I ordered the short stack with a side of bacon. I was thinking that the short stack would be small but it was as large as the whole plate! Two people could definitely share it! The food was always good and service was a plus!

Not sure what make of this place. We were seated promptly then waited for our server for at least 15 minutes. Where was our server? In the kitchen passing out hugs to other employees and chatting. When she did come to our table she complained how she is overwhelmed. Huh? Anyway, the food ended up being good. The CA chicken sandwich was good and even though they use cheap fries they had a nice blend of spices on them. I don't think we'll go back.

I went to the Blue Moon Cafe with five friends after hiking and swimming all day. We were starving. The food was awful. They claimed to have a huge selection of beers. They did not, and only one on tap. I ordered biscuits and gravy. It was a bowl of milk with two biscuits and pizza sausage nuggets sprinkled on top. I ate three or four bites of it, tried unsuccessfully to fix it with hot sauce, left the rest and the server never asked about it. I also ordered french fries. My guess is that the fries were dumped out of a bag and heated on a pan in the pizza oven. They were dry and NOT EVEN HOT. They were not eaten either. A friend ordered Huevos Rancheros, which she split with me. It was edible. Refried beans dumped on a tortilla with a fried egg hidden in the mess. No flavor, no heat. Another friend ordered a eggs, toast and bacon. She said it was okay, typical greasy diner food. She didn't even eat her bacon though. How can you not eat bacon?! Another plate ordered was a flying saucer. Kind of a big tostada. Refried beans smeared over the tostada with cheese, shredded lettuce and canned jalapenos. Again, no flavor, no heat. About of third of this dish was eaten. My fifth friend ordered a BLT and only ate half of it, but she was drunk, so that might have explained it. Don't go here...unless you want a chocolate malt. Those were awesome.

We had lunch at Blue Moon on our way out of town, it was maybe my best meal while in AZ. The food came out quick, server was very nice and they have a dog to keep you company if you dine outside.

This is just a regular diner with some kitschy interior. The place is quite dark as several light bulbs were broken in the recessed lighting which made the place feel a bit like a dungeon. They also have those waxy table cloths that just don't feel clean. I was just going to give them two stars but the breakfast we had (I had a breakfast skillet of some sort) was really quite tasty so another star thrown in for the food.

    (3)
  • Tina G.

Worst biscuits & gravy, made from a mix with no flavor and too much water. Waitress needs to learn to only refill BLACK coffee and ask if it's not. Atmosphere was fine until the TV preacher was turned on.

Female server from Boston was great and courteous. Older gentleman who I suspect was the owner thanked us for coming as he was leaving for the night. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and overpriced. We ordered: 16" Deluxe Vegetarian Pizza = $21.99 Sampler Combo = $8.95 Italian Soda The Sampler was burnt (even at night while sitting outside with poor lighting, I could see the dark burned color of the fried food). Also, they only gave us 3 mozzarella sticks, a few pieces of fried zucchini the size of a half-dollar coin, and several small chicken wings. The wing sauce was decent tasting. The pizza was decent but certainly overpriced. The crust wasn't staple b/c the ingredients kept falling off. In other words, when you picked up a slice it would slope and everything would fall off. Also, when I went to pay, the waitress was scolding another waitress who I suspect she was training. She was loud and patrons were staring. This is a "mom and pop" shop which I love to support, however, I believe in professionalism. Aside from the fact that it was distracting. Do you like to listen to other people's drama? I certainly do not. Great food would have made up for this scene.

This place was recommended by a friend who travels to Sedona often. She recommended it specifically for breakfast but their non-breakfast food looked good too. She was right - great breakfast food! The service (to get food) was a little slow, but they were busy. The servers did an incredible job keeping up with the number of people walking in the door, and we were there late for breakfast. They were friendly and tried to accommodate everyone. The coffee was actually pretty good too. Definitely a must-eat if you have time.

Kind of a dive place, but the food is good; I had the cheesesteak sub. And there are these quirky books on each table to peruse while you wait. Definitely a Sedona type atmosphere.

I really hate to give this place two stars since our waiter really was a nice guy and really friendly. Sadly, this place just falls somewhere between "I've experienced better" and "Just OK." Since Yelp doesn't have half-stars (again.. c'mon, Yelp!), I have to settle for two. Anyways.. My then-boyfriend-now-fiance surprised me with a trip to Sedona (we'd never been there and he didn't tell me where we were going). We didn't know where anything was and saw this place's menu listed in the phone book. I know, I know.. not always the most reliable form of reviews when the place is calling itself good, but we were in the mountains and neither of us had access to Yelp on our phones. We ventured out to this place and I have to say, it was a really nice drive there! Just when we thought we were about to be lost after sunset, we found the place and stopped in. There were two other couples dining there and as soon as we sat ourselves, the older woman at the table nearby hopped up and gave us a 10% off coupon. I'm glad she did because the prices are kind of steep for what the food is. We both got sandwiches and my fiances ordered biscuits and gravy. They were pretty generic and tasted as UN-homemade as possible. We didn't care though because we were hungry. The sandwiches were okay and the fries were obviously of the OreIda bag variety- not a problem. Those are my favorite at home, LoL. On our way out, the couple who'd given us the coupon offered us half their pizza. They too were staying at a hotel in the area and couldn't take it with. Considering how expensive items on the menu were, we may have taken them up on that offer just so they didn't waste anything, haha. This place is fine to go if you have a family with you or just want something quick. The decor, as others have said, is homey and I found it comfy. They had cute/funny books on the table and we enjoyed flipping through those. This place falls somewhere behind Denny's in terms of food, but the service is good.

My daughter and I stopped in for a cool drink and ended up enjoying a good meal. Some of the best chicken strips and fries I've had in a long time, and one of the better cups of iced coffee too. Very friendly staff had useful tips for the area.

This is a plain storefront restaurant with lots of good food and friendly service. All the food we ordered or saw others ordering looked wonderful. In addition there are lots of pictures, maps, posters, history facts on the wall for you to peruse. Good food, casual atmosphere, prompt service, and lots to look at.

Yum, I loved their breakfast. I ate here 4 times. Short stack pancakes, french toast, eggs and sausage links....mmmmm. I only had breakfast and even had breakfast for dinner once. My bf had the steak and eggs every single time. He loved it too. Simple diner food that isn't too greasy! Free wifi!

Good, hearty, cheap breakfast. I had the special skillet with a heap of eggs, ham, peppers, onions and cheddar. Add a dash of cholula and, presto, satisfied the hunger if this famished hiker. Nothing fancy here. Favored by the locals, which is always a plus in my book. Coffee was nothing special but did the job. My mom had the pancakes, which were delicious. Bro had biscuits and gravy, which were adequate from a texan's perspective. All in all, way better than average food in a town whose food is nothing to scream about ...

Great food for breakfast or lunch. This place makes you smile. The owner is amiable and really a hoot to talk with! The burgers are special...We recommend this to friends who are looking for something different when visiting Sedona. This place is just average - the service was very friendly, a little bit frazzled though. The food was nothing special. The atmosphere was laid back and comfortable - I only recommend going here if you just want something quick and not looking for great food or anything.

The food is quite good. I had the posole (pork and hominy) stew which was quite good. My dad had some sandwich but he said his fries were terrific. You don't get that too often, do ya? The service was friendly. The beer selection was very local (and good). And the place was clearly full of locals. If you are in that part of town (coming back from golf), definitely hit it. But it might not be worth a special trip.

  • Erika B.

Disappointed after reading good reviews here.....the food was ok but the choices pretty limited. The biggest turn off was the dining room and the service. The dining room needs a good cleaning and the chairs and booths could use some repair...the staff acted like we were making them go out of their way to help us and I really hate that (and it was like 12:30pm for lunch on a Friday, not like we were holding them late or anything). It could be a cool and quirky place, they have these funny little books on the tables and lots of local-y kitsch on the walls, but just not executed quite right. The one plus was the homemade potato chips that come with some of the meals - really good. But, I wouldn't come back.

Pizza is excellent, service superb! We had Hawaiian pizza and beer! Great spot for lunch! Prices are very affordable! Will come again.

I was really impressed with his place. Pizza and omelette are really good and so are the fries. I must say the fries were probably the best I've had in a very long time. I like the atmosphere too. The staff is friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back.

  • Briana O.

    (2)
  • Jeffrey S.

    (2)
  • Helen Y.

Stopped in for a "quick" lunch on the way back from Sedona. Food was ok after we finally got it after about 1 hour! Servers seemed lost most of the time and we were not the only ones to receive poor service. Don't stop here unless you have time to spare

Breakfast is never too impressive, but this is better than average. Great bacon and eggs, very good marbled ryebread. Crumby potatoes. My wife liked her food pretty well. Very nice wait-staff and pleasant atmosphere. Good value for sure!

  • Marsha W.

Prices are higher this trip and food not as good. Everyone in this place seems to be spastic and very off kilter. We will not be returning to the Blue Moon. Just not the pizazz it had shortly after it opened in the early 2000s

  • Marc M.

  • Lee H.

After ten minutes no service no water no nothing we decided to leave. As we were leaving a lady at nearby table had just received her check and told the waiter she never got her coffee, another reason to skip this place. Went down the road to much better service!

    (1)
  • Jenny V.

  • Richard L.

    (1)

    (5)

We had lunch at Blue Moon on our way out of town, it was maybe my best meal while in AZ. The food came out quick, server was very nice and they have a dog to keep you company if you dine outside.

  • Sven J.

We live in Orlando and only wish we had a place like this to enjoy year round. When in Sedona visit the Blue Moon, you won't forget the experience.

Good American diner food! Generous portions, plenty of grease to lubricate the system and a classic menu of burgers, sandwiches and breakfast served all day.
