Chef David Schmidt and his staff are amazing! I cant say enough about their immaculate service and amazing food. Its beautiful and clean and the restaurant is intimate enough for quiet conversation. I shall return again and again!

Had the most amazing meal in Che Ah Chi followed by cocktails on the terrace of View 180. Food outstanding. Service superb.

The reincarnation of the main restaurant at Enchantment is great. We used to go to this resort/restaurant for the experience of the location and ambiance. We would now go for that and the food. We had a wonderful meal and experience. Some of the dishes were molecular gastronomy, others just great gourmet. we will be back!!!!

I was already in love with Enchantment, but even more now since I have dined at Che Ah Chi. My husband had the most beautiful lobster bisque with a delicate lemon foam that took soup to a whole new level. My plate of buffalo tenderloin has to be the most delicious dish of 2014 and top 5 of 2013. The meat was tender and juicy as was my husband's lamb. The cherry glaze on the onions with poached pears is the best pairing with meat that I have ever had. To end our meal, the restaurant complimented the yummy chocolate crunch cake for our anniversary. The service was top notch and we will always dine here when in Sedona. A true hidden gem.

Had lunch today outside. Gorgeous view. I had the ahi tuna salad. Delicious!!! Husband had the fish tacos. He loved them. View is amazing. Worth the drive.

We had breakfast here on our last morning at Enchantment, and enjoyed beautiful canyon views as we ate (even from inside). The food had great presentation, and the service was pretty good. Some of the items were a little slow to come out, but they brought them out as soon as we reminded them. There was a billing error in that we were charged for our breakfast here, even though it was to be included in our package. I called when I saw it on the credit card and was assured the mistake would be corrected, so it worked out just fine. For the high quality of the smoothies and food you can get, it was amazing that it was included with our stay.

The food and the view here are both excellent. I'm a foodie so I definitely appreciate all of the interesting ingredients that Che-Ah-Chi served up including squash blossoms and elk. The pork tenderloin is excellent too. Everybody at my table had a different salad and I had a bite of each; all so good, especially the beets and the burrata. The lobster bisque is also a winner. I have never been to a restaurant where the cocktail menu is on an ipad but it made for an interesting experience because I could actually see pictures of everything I was considering ordering. Next time I visit Sedona I will definitely come back here.

Such a great experience. We had just hiked the nearby vortex (Woo!) and drove here afterwards for lunch. Had a wonderful meal and cocktails on their patio - which was wonderfully shaded just the right amount (May temps in the 80s). Service was fantastic - fun, easy-going and food was perfect. Salads, appetizers and a great house margarita. And of course the views are pretty amazing too. Best of all, we didn't feel 'odd' by not being hotel guests.

Wonderful experience. First, the location is amazing. It was raining the night we went and we still had a great view. Our server was fantastic. I had a cocktail "the original" - it was outstanding. I started with the baby beets and my aunts had the lobster bisque - they we're delicious. Everyone in our party had the filet which was perfectly cooked and delicious. We were stuffed at the end but managed to split a piece of the chocolate torte. Although the torte was good, our whole group wished the dessert menu had more options. Overall a great night. Can't wait until I visit Sedona and Enchantment again!

Dinner at Che-Ah-Chi was the perfect ending to our long hot August day venturing around Sedona. The food and service is a 4, but the view is a 6. You wouldn't want to miss the stunning location while in Sedona, especially around sunset. The lobster bisque was terrific!

Husband and I are staying here for some much needed R&R. Decided to stay on property for breakfast this morning. We opted out of the breakfast buffet because -a) it did not look appetizing, especially the trays of food with no coverings and b) $24.50 /person seemed quite steep. Now the view is fantastic so worth some up charge, agreed. I opted for the Huevos Rancheros and hubby had the Arizona Omelette. Hands down, Mine was the best. Just the right amount of spice for breakfast, everything cooked great. Service is a bit slow, but we are in no hurry this week. All in all ended up being $51 in total so you'll pay $25/person anyway unless you have some hotel package. Just coffee to drink, hadn't moved on to the Mimosas yet! Now on to dinner, at which point this moved to five stars. First; don't miss the lobster bisque, $8 for a cup but you won't regret it. Cognac whip on top and mushrooms/chunks of lobster? Heaven in your mouth. Next we did the Burrata- check out my picture. Build it, toast, Burrata, prosciutto, Apricots, then drip the honey on top. OMG amazing. We finished with the Alaskan Halibut and the mushrooms. The Halibut was great, the mushrooms were good (we were told chef picks these somewhere on his own). Very good meal, service by Connie and team was excellent and boy, you can't beat the view. We each had one glass of Pinot Grigio, total bill $116 before tip.

We went at Sunset to have dinner and sat out side with perfect weather. The customer service and our waiter was amazing recommending a lot of things that he liked and are exclusive to Sedona. He checked in on us very frequently to see how everything was going. The food was really good had the house made pasta with Alaskan halibut and fettuccine with chicken. They have an amazing selection of wine also. If your are staying at the resort definitely recommend having dinner here.

Absolutely horrible service. Seated inside with many open tables. We could tell they were waiting for a large party as a server asked to remove chairs from our table. That was the only server to approach until a bus person came by and asked if we had been greeted. We said no, and she returned with water. When we asked how she was this evening, she replied,"well I'm working". Not what I expect out of this type of resort or restaurant. Did not have the chance to eat as we left after we were not even approached by a server for 10 minutes as 6-8 servers walked by continually. Had the Manager watch us walk out and thank us for dining. She didn't even notice our table had nothing on it besides water. Great oversight. Consequently, sat in the patio and watched the large party come in and get a wonderful greeting with laughs. Given my husband and I both worked in Foodservice for several years, we understand what it takes to be successful. It is 70% experience and 30% food. This place has disappointed greatly.

Food was clean and good. Service was on par, but I expected it to be better. When we asked for a wine pairing with lamb, we were not expecting to hear "well just about any red wine we have". It just sounded so generic and boring. Top dollar resort should house top dollar service that's full of knowledge. Aside from this incident, everything else was fine.

One hour wait to get our dinner. Totally ridiculous. Worst part is the manager came out trying to defend their service. For a fine establishment as this, totally unacceptable. Manager did give us a discount on our bill. But the one star is for the failed service. No discount would make up for this type of lousy service.

Absolutely fantastic! Wife and I had a phenomenal dinner here! The setting, service, and most important the food was awesome! Set right smack dab in the middle of the red rocks, it couldn't have been more unique and beautiful. Very romantic. We started with squash blossoms and they were very good. Then we split the beet salad (very generous portions on the split) that was a unique, colorful, and delicious starter. The entrées took it from very good to absolutely great! The rack of lamb was seriously the best I'd ever had! Moist, tender, flavorful. All you could ask for! Wife had the Wagyu beef. Also fantastic! Our plates were practically licked clean. I would most definitely return for another nice dinner and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. FANTASTIC! ...we also had 2 breakfasts here -- also very good!! But the dinner is the highlight of the restaurant for sure :)

We had breakfast here and ordered the Huevos Rancheros + the Waffle with Strawberries, whipped cream and a glazed banana. The Huevos were about what you would expect. Heavy on the beans with a couple eggs and avocado. The refried beans overpowered all the other ingredients. So-so. The waffle is a MUST exactly as it comes. It was unhealthy but outstanding - maybe the best waffle I've ever had. The whipped cream (vanilla bean?) and banana really push this one into another world.

Disappointment at dinner but breakfast was better. This is the signature restaurant at The Enchantment and expected a lot and did not get it. Staff very friendly and attentive, after one day know you by name. We had breakfast here every day and found what ever we ordered to be well prepared, presented well and tasty. Dinner another story. Seated promptly by friendly staff. Took our severs recommendations for our entrees. Fish over cooked, dry and tasteless. Prime aged sirloin very little flavor even with the sauce, the kale on top could not be cut with a steak knife. Youngest thought the chicken tenders only OK. Oldest said her filet was good. We expected much more and left feeling we had paid way to much for a less than average meal. This beautiful setting could stand so more in the kitchen.

We were pretty disappointed with our dinner at Che Ah Chi. This was our second time at Enchantment, and we decided to eat at CAC on our last night. When we arrived for our 7:15PM reservation, the hostess was chomping away on her gum - not the best impression. We were seated at a comfy banquette and greeted promptly by our waiter, who then disappeared for around 10 minutes. When he returned we asked about the "Dine About Arizona" promotion that had started that very day, and he knew nothing about it. He finally returned with the promotional menus (why weren't the restaurant giving them out automatically?) and we were delighted to see the price and the choices. We ordered the mozarella salad to start, which turned out to be more of a panzanella salad, but it was delicious and generously plated. We then waited around 15 minutes with the dirty plates on our table without a busser removing coming by. When our waiter finally returned to take our order, we asked him to remove the plates and flatware. The service got progressively worse, with very long waits between courses, not having our dirty plates removed promptly, no water refills, no asking if wanted another cocktail, etc. etc. Very disapointed for a restaurant of this caliber. The food was indeed amazing - lobster bisque, homemade spaghetti, lamb sirloin, pot de creme, chocolate bread pudding - all wonderfully seasoned and spiced and just delicious. However, due to the shabby service, I just can't go above two stars.

I think the main draw here is the view. The food is pretty good, but nothing amazing. The buffalo carpaccio is a pretty good appetizer. I've had better beef carpaccio, but this was still a good one. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. If you want to take advantage of the view, make sure you go during daylight hours. You can't really see much when its dark out, and to make it worse, the interior lights reflect off the windows, making it harder to see outside.

We had a wonderful time both before dinner and during. The food, was great, but bland. And some of the dishes did not make sense. Earthy truffles on sweet scallops. Really? And in this year of 2014 we found it appalling and masogenistic that there was only one waitress. Besides the two hostesses everyone else was male. Are you kidding?

The food and ambiance at this restaurant are fantastic. Just jaw dropping how good the food is. If you are a fan of fine dining, excellent small portions, truffle infusions, creative dishes and a true foodie then this is the only place you will want to eat while in Sedona. We went there once and it was so good that we returned the very next night for some more of simply the best lobster bisque we ever had. No, you really have NO IDEA how AMAZING the lobster bisque topped with cognac foam is. Not to mention the dessert - wow - just incredible. Perfection. Definitely worth every penny, and not that expensive. Just so you have some perspective, I, for example, am not the type of person that ever finds Italian food fine dining. I love Italian food, but no matter how great it is, to me, it simply lacks the combination of flavors and small enough portions for it to be fine dining. I prefer very small portions, creative dishes with an explosion of combination of flavors. My favorite restaurant in the world is Victoria and Albert's in Orlando, but I have also been to many well-known places in NY, Sao Paulo, Puerto Vallarta, LA, San Diego, DC, etc. This is one of the top 3 restaurants I have ever been to. So if you are like me and enjoy the culinary arts and have a sophisticated palate, there is no way you won't simply adore this restaurant. Their cocktails and wine list are also formidable.

Although we may have been the only people in the restaurant who weren't staying at the Enchantment Resort, the experience was great. We came in for a late dinner (had to make reservations about a week+ in advance) and were really happy overall with the service, atmosphere, and food. We ordered the cheese plate as an appetizer, and the cobia and the jadori chicken as our entrees. All 3 dishes were amazing! The restaurant itself is small but cozy and feels upscale but not pretentious. Our server did a great job and was really patient with all of our questions and requests. Great experience overall!

The $$$$ price tag leaves a lot to be desired. Inattentive staff, slow service, wobbly table, $16 cocktails. For a restaurant that boasts entrees no cheaper than 43$ I expect top notch service. Hostess didn't pull out chairs to help us get seated. Waiter didn't come for 5-10 minutes. Drinks took that long to be made. Bread didn't come out until our entrees. The wagyu flank was seasoned well and left a lot to be desired. However, the salmon was excellent. The only positive to the meal.

The restaurant was beautiful and elegant. The food was good. Very good. The lobster bisque was so delish, yet the serving size was pathetically small, even for a high end restaurant. The baby beet appetizer was good, but some of the beets were very very vinegary. The tenderloin was so perfectly prepared...it was amazing. The chicken dish was lacking compared with the promise it held. The ingredients were blended well and mixed nicely. It was on the dry side though...should have been cooked less. The chocolate bread pudding had a good taste and a great mix with the ice cream and coul is, but was not a typical bread pudding consistency. The chocolate crunch cake was excellent...a large portion and enough crunch in the cake to be perfectly pleasing. Both very nicely presented.

Considering the dearth of innovative, quality-ingredient restaurants anywhere in Sedona, Che Ah Chi was a welcome shmancy high-end (yet not stuffy) experience while in Sedona. Definitely recommend it while the sun is still out to appreciate the gorgeous sunset and mountains. Dishes were like any well-done restaurant in urban centers in the states, but tasty. ie Crudo w/ avocado and a warm truffle broth, lobster bisque, charcuterie plate, etc.

I love Che-Ah-Chi! Great food! Excellent decor and a wonderful view of the red rocks. All seating in positioned in a way that the red rocks can be seen though there floor to ceiling windows. EXCELLENT staff! Very attentive and truly seem to care about patrons experience and happiness (this proves to be true throughout Sedona). I always go for breakfast and my meals have aways been A+

We all wanted to like this place. We came as a group of 6, were shown to our table and that was where the good bit ended. My boyfriends mom had called to make sure they were happy to accommodate a vegan and two vegetarians and was told that they had a special menu for us. After asking about said menu we were told that they had to print it out first. After a little while I was handed a piece of paper that had clearly just been typed out on the computer. On there was some pasta with tomato sauce, a bland sounding salad and another thing I can't remember any more. Our server also had no idea about the menu and repeatedly told us contradicting things about ingredients and dishes. Fast forward to the food: the meat eaters complained about bland fish, one vegetarian mindlessly played with her spaghetti and as a vegan I had to ask to change my food twice because both times I had received dishes with cheese on top. In the end the chef came out of the kitchen to apologise saying that the waiter wasn't clear in his instructions. I left with an unsatisfied stomach and went to get a delicious vegan hot dog at Simons hot dogs. Those were some $6 well spent.

My Husband and I dined here for his Birthday. Rebecca at the front desk made sure it was to be very special for us. After we ate a delicious meal of Organic Salad, Buffalo, Venison and Brussels Sprouts, our waiter Raymond delivered my Husband's Birthday dessert of Apple Cobbler with Gelato and blueberry compote. We had 2 glasses of Port to compliment the dish and it knocked our socks off! Raymond was extremely professional and attentive without hovering, we were able to enjoy our romantic meal and linger over the amazing dessert. So far, everyone we have encountered here at the Enchanted and Che Ah Chi has been extremely nice and accommodating.

As another reviewer noted, there's something up with the reservation system when reserving through Yelp. I tried for a 7, & was given options for 6 & 8. I took the 8, we arrived at 7:25 to find a largely empty restaurant. Seated at 8, after the sun had gone down. Food was excellent, but pricey (as expected).

Great service, awesome wine selection. Food is good, but thought L'Auberge had better quality for price. Had 4 courses and salmon appetizer was only regret. Accomodating for gluten free.

We have dined at Che-ah-chi many times over the past 5 years and each time something is always lacking. Our most recent experience left little to be desired and we will not return. The Sunday brunch always had an amazing spread and each dish was delicious. Now that it is only a cold buffet, which is very good, with over priced poorly prepared cooked sides and poor service at best, we won't even go for that. There were 4 meals of the hot dish menu and each was very small and not very good. I ordered an omelet and I must saw it was the worst omelet I have ever had. We had a reservation and we still had to wait an additional 15 minutes for them to set the table and bring a high chair. The server was rude and very condescending and no one came by to take dirty dishes or refill waters, coffees, and mimosas. This was a very disappointing experience!

Usually, I stay away from restaurants whose names sound too much like 'Chachi', but in this case, I made a delicious exception at Che-Ah-Chi, which offers fine dining, high in the mountains of Sedona. At such high an altitude, you'd think the view would be the best attraction, but for me, it was definitely the truffle cheese rolls generously provided, as we perused a menu filled with fare foreign to this city dweller, like buffalo and elk. Feeling adventurous, we ordered buffalo, with a safety net of the gnocchi entree (just in case). After one bite of the buffalo, I apologized to PETA and kept eating. It was so deliciously prepared and tender, as opposed to the gnocchi whose texture was a bit strange. Why no fifth star? For my taste, the chef was a bit heavy handed with the butter. While Paula Deen might love her asparagus drenched in the creamy stuff, I would rather clog my arteries on my terms, saving the animal fats for my entree.

  • Stephen L.

Fantastic dining experience. Attentive service. Beautiful view. Fantastic gastronomic delights. Excellent wine list. So why not 5 stars? Two reasons. First, the elk, which was highly recommended, was not rare as requested. The accompanying vegetables were also oversalted. Given how delicate the flavors were for other dishes (we had an array of appetizers which were uniformly amazing), this was surprising and disappointing. Second, which should probably have been first, was that we were given the option of a 6pm or 8pm reservation. We opted to have drinks on the 180 View patio and wait for the 8pm reservation. Turns out we were sitting outside the Cha-Ah-Chi dining room, which was nearly completely empty. Why then were we not given a 7pm reservation when that was our preferred time? Not sure if it's some sort of tiered reservation system based on the price of your Enchantment Resort package or what, but it was a Monday night and we were starving while waiting for our table - a wait we didn't need to have, but was never explained to us by either our waiter or the host staff. Poor communication was the rule of our Enchantment stay, unfortunately. Absent those 2 glitches, chef David Schmidt could have his own restaurant in NYC or anywhere in the world. The food is that good.

I used to look forward to unique cocktails and prickly pear cactus fries on the patio at View 180. When I arrived on Saturday, 12/1/2012, the hostess greeted me and asked if my party would be dining. I told her we'd like to sit by a heat lamp on the patio and have cocktails and some of the wonderful cactus fries. She smiled nicely without bothering to tell me cactus fries were a thing of the past. There were some mumbled excuses about needing to "find" the propane for the heat lamp. The heat lamp never got lit and there was no apology, excuse, or acknowledgment of it by any staff member. Now comes the menu. No prickly pear cactus fries. Oh, it seems there has been a change of chefs and now there is a new menu. We decided to have a quick drink and get the heck out of there. The rest of the menu was not all that appealing. As the sun sank behind the red rocks and the temperature dropped quickly, we gulped our drinks because it was apparent we weren't going to get any heat. My Red Canyon Margarita was adequate, although the rim of the glass was sparsely salted. My guest ordered The Federalist, Zinfandel @ $14 a glass. When he took the last sip we noticed a good tablespoon of sediment in the glass! Not just a few specs. A lump. Our waiter seemed to have lost interest in serving us, so eventually I took the wine glass to the hostess station, where I found our waiter. I showed him the glass and he commented that it looked like there was "some sediment." Some?! I replied that it was a lot of sediment. He presented me with a check that included the glass of wine. I told him politely that I would not be happy to pay for that glass of wine. He promptly removed the wine from the tab without comment. The acoustics on the patio are non-existent, so my guests and I were able to clearly overhear a guest at the neighboring table regale her tablemates with an accounting of her breast lift. Off the the left a bit a magician (??!!) was entertaining guests with card tricks. Meh. I won't be going back.

It was the most expensive meal we had in Sedona, but not the best. The food was good, don't get me wrong. But not $50+ an entree kinda good. The lamb was good. The filet mignon was good. Just good. The sides were mediocre. We had the fingerling potatoes, which were oily, and the brussel sprouts, which were undercooked and bland. Again, it was a good meal, but at those outrageous prices, I expect to be wowed. Service was very good. We went early, because it was our first day there and were exhausted and hungry. Oddly enough, they seated three tables right next to each other leaving the rest of the place empty. We were in the middle. The manager stopped at the first table to ask how everything was, if they needed anything, etc. Then he skipped us, and went to the 3rd table and asked the same thing. Maybe because we didn't order a $100 bottle of wine with dinner? It's food people, get over yourselves!

Please note that this restaurant has been renovated and the name changed. The new name is Che-Ah-Chi and my full review of our experience there is under that name. We found most of the complaints and spotty reviews of this place have been remedied under the new restaurant and menu.
