The food is so good. I make it a point to stop in every time I'm in town. Tonight, I had the fried mushrooms and steak bites. Extremely delicious! I love the battered coating and the steak was very tender. The atmosphere is casual and hometown feeling. The service was good. I would recommend everyine try the restaurant at l ed last once. You'll be hooked!

Went for lunch. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Kingman Arizona is very limited on what to do and where to eat. For lunch this is a great place.

I really want to like this restaurant and I want to support businesses on Route 66 that are not all corporate... but this one needs to improve. The Food is ok- but it could be better-maybe a few more plain offerings.. and the service- It took forever for anyone to pass by and even refill water or offer to get us more condiments like salsa ...

So disappointed. Bland and dry food at a price that makes you expect more and unfortunately the service comes with a poor attitude. I heard at our hotel that the food choices in this town are not so good so I would save your money and get a burger at in and out.

Nothing about our experience there was good, nothing. We were waiting for service to be done on our car across the street and thought we would get out of the heat, dine and rest. Ordered an appetizer basket and a veggie burger. YUK, YUK, YUK! Limp, greasy fries, bland burger and and very little of it. Not worth the price at all. Waited 35 minutes for a refill on my ice tea, passed us by over and over and ignored us totally. Would not recommend or go again, ever.

The waitress was great. My prime rib was ordered medium and came more medium well but it was good. The salad and vegetables were just nothing special.

Juicy delicious steak and plenty of sides! Perfect after a long day on a road trip through Grand Canyon and part of route 66. We were tired and weary and arriving late on a Thursday evening and all we could see were fast food places on arrival from the East entering Kingman. We'd already agreed we wanted steak so discovering The Dambar Steakhouse was amazing! (Evening food served 3 - 10pm). We both ordered the Dambar Ribeye... Both were cooked to out liking, I opted for rare. The steak was just delicious and so tender and cooked in special seasoning which gave a slightly sweet flavour. It came with lots of trimmings - fried onions, fries, salad, cowboy beans and blue cheese dressing (all these can be swapped for alternatives so you can have it just the way you like it) The food arrived quickly... perhaps a little too quickly... We'd only just eater our biscuits and started our starter but we really didn't mind. Staff were friendly and bubbly and always around to serve more drinks and make sure everything was okay. I think this really has to be the best meal we've had in the USA on our trip and one of the nicest steaks I've ever had. Can only fault the salad which was a little basic but we really came for the steak so who cares!

Been there some years ago, was good. This time was different. Tryed the bottom non bbq side of my girlfriends $15 1/2 rack ribs and they had no flavor and dry. Tasted like yesterdays ribs at our 7 o'clock dinner. You shouldn't be counting on the bbq sauce to flavor your food! Isn't the dinner salad supposed to come before the meal? Not at the end like a desert. Also, trying to track down any waitress for napkins and another set of silverware is uncalled for. Worst $50 dinner id had in a long time.

In Kingman AZ your options are limited, and if you take my recommendations, the options just got more limited. I ordered the ribeye medium rare, but it came out medium well...I sent it back and got one less than rare....I wasn't willing to try again. My wife ordered the prime rib and was happy with it, but by the time I got my second steak she was done i.e. We both ate alone.... To round out the disappointment we ordered the brownie sundae, but after 2 bites each we realized our $4.99 did not go far in the brownie department. I don't often give 1 star, but if the highlight of the meal is the French fries, it is A bad joint. If you are on Route 66, just keep on going!

  • Julianna B.

I really wish I could give this place more stars but Heather, our server was a *****. I didn't notice till she did it to other tables but she was rude and really acted like we were a burden being there. She actually got mad at me when I asked how their medium rares were. Food was good in my opinion and my boyfriend said it was decent. For that I want to give it a higher star but honestly... your server/waitress is the face of your establishment. If they suck, your direct image sucks. If I feel like I am a burden dining at your establishment, then I rather not come back.

Surprised to find that these were the best steaks we believe we've ever eaten. And we've had steaks in Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Denver, and more. My husband had the bacon-wrapped filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. My prime rib cut was more meat than fat but still melt-in-your- mouth. Whatever they use to season the meat (may have been just salt and pepper), was mouth-watering. The baked potatoes were moist and served loaded. The pinto beans were especially flavorful and we don't really like pintos. The salad was basic iceberg lettuce and cheddar biscuits. Even the fried ice cream was a treat (feast for the eyes and taste buds). Yes, it's pricey (plan on about $25 per person), but it was worth every penny. Oh, and friendly service too.

WE LOVE WINGS WED!!! Best wings ever and lots of them. Beer goes especially well withe those hot and fresh wings. I prefer the hot wings which are never too hot. URSULA makes the dining experience sooo complete. Always there to serve you and serve you with a smile...that WONDERFUL SMILE...for you Ursula...you work so hard and do such a great job. We so look forward to every time at the Dambar in Kingman. Great time. Great food. Great atmosphere. You know we'll be back!!

Had the dam burger, was yummy. The service was excellent. Nice atmosphere. No drinks, only water, was $25 total with 22% tip. Not bad..

Love this place. Our second meal here in 1.5 years, each one delicious. Tonight, after a long desert drive from the CA coast, we thoroughly enjoyed our $24 bottle of Pinot Noir, which was brought out immediately, along with their homemade cheese biscuits. My grilled catfish and homemade mashed potatoes were delicious, and my husband loved his Salisbury steak. Last time, he loved their ribs. This stop is our go to spot in Kingman. I didn't snack all day on the drive because I knew what was ahead of me tonight. Same great service, too. Anticipation followed by total satisfaction.

This place is a nightmare - terrible, rude staff, spoiled food and food that is not for for a dog. We all ordered steaks and all were 90% fat and gristle. All were sent back. We were also served completely rotten sour cream with our potatoes. We had the waitress smell it and she gagged. You could not pay me to eat here again.

  • P.J. S.

I go there on Monday's because Nova works the bar, sometimes Mindy and her switch shifts. I always order the end cut of the prime rib. Before I order, Nova usually has my drink and my salad ready! I also like the banter with the regulars at the bar.

I went here with a group recently. It wasn't my first time, but it had been around eight years prior. The restaurant is as I remembered it, with sawdust on the floor. Our meal started out with our waitress proclaiming she was our "dam waitress." Thankfully this didn't continue for the rest of the meal. She was friendly and attentive, I should note. Let me reiterate what many people on yelp have said: the biscuits are amazing. Make sure you get some. Although I did not imbibe, some of my party did have their signature "dam red" ale and liked it. We were told it is brewed in Sedona. I had the chicken, some had steak, and one had the trip-tip. My meal was good enough, with decent sides, and that was the assessment from the steak eater as well. The tri-tip eater had above average reviews of his entree. Portions were all generous and prices reasonable. It is important to note that you are in a small town when you eat here. This is not a Vegas steakhouse, don't expect that level. All the same, I would definitely eat here again and would recommend it to somebody looking for something local. When in Kingman, there aren't a lot of options and this is superior to the national chains.

Had the ribs. Not very good they were dry and seemed like yesterday's ribs. The sides were warm at best. The salad was great.

Ordered the half rack of baby back ribs and the tortilla soup. Both were very good and extremely tasty. I will go back...

Sirloin Steak I think was a mix between chuck steak and round steak. The meal w sides & bagged lettuce salad were not my favorites. I accidentally ended up at the wrong steak house. ! Service was fabulous. Food was not.

  • Jesse N.

I would recommend stopping here just to eat the biscuits! The rest of the meal left something to be desired. Not much flavour on the ribs, decent onion rings. Friendly staff, made sure we had everything we needed.

  • Shannon P.

Highly disappointed. For the price the food was less than adequate. They mixed up the orders and prepared the steaks incorrectly so they had to be sent back. They charged an additional $2.25 for a kids drink on top of the $4.99 for the kids meal price without any warning of the charge. I guess the empty building on a Saturday night should have been my first clue!

Was a wonderful dinner, the service was great! I had ribs that were very good, and my friend had ribeye that was cooked perfectly. Was a great choice after driving down the hwy all day

Pricey and on the loud side. Was a little disappointed, but can see the appeal of tourists/travelers.

Excellent Tumbleweed appetizers. Our Server Heather was excellent and attentive. The sirloin tips over grilled onion and poblano chilies were very tasty. Worth a repeat visit.

Expensive for what you get. Ordered the largest porterhouse (21oz) and was disappointed as it was way too thin. The main reason to get a porterhouse is to eat a juicy, thick steak. If you can't find one in Arizona where they raise them, I guess they are not served anymore. The cheese/broccoli soup tasted like it was from a number 10 can and the "cowboy beans" had no flavor. The service was pretty good except it would have been better to have had my zinfandel with my steak, not afterwards. The most helpful thing was the check, where they broke down what an 18%, 20%, or a 22% tip was. They were very lucky to get 12% and that was only because I didn't have any smaller bills. I am starting to think that if you want a good meal in Kingman, Arizona, you best pack a lunch before you leave home!!!

A little pricey, but really good food. We went with traditional items, and everyone left fat and happy. The staff is the real gem here. Everyone is very friendly, and seem to all get along as well. Makes for a great family spot.

I went here last night with a group of friends. We started with the house made Dam-Red beer, which is really awesome. If you like beer you need to try one. I have one every time I get to Kingman and have time to stop here. I had the catfish and it was really good. The tortilla soup was good but didn't seem as good as it had in the past. As others have mentioned the biscuits with herb butter are awesome. My friends had the rib eye and were very happy with it. I don't go to Kingman very often but I usually stop here when I do and will continue.

Traveling through and spent the night in King man with a pet we couldn't leave alone. Dambar went above and beyond to package us up take out (thank you Ursula). And the food was great. The baby back ribs with an incredible barbeque sauce were the best we have had in a long time!

When I'm in or near Kingman, I make it a point to stop by the DamBar. It can look a bit intimidating at times (especially during the 'River Run' bike week at Laughlin), but don't worry, most everyone I've seen and met here aren't the Hells Angel type rowdy biker; they're friendly and not looking to cause anyone any trouble. The menu is varied w/ lots of dam-good choices at dam-reasonable prices. Lots of Dam Finger Food, too. Try one of my favorites, the DamBurger or the Dam Red Ribeye (Marinated in their Red beer). I usually eat in the bar, but if you're looking for a bit more comfort and quiet, try the restaurant.

My wife & I stayed overnight in Kingman on our way back from Texas to our home in California. We had eaten at Dambar on a previous trip and wanted to go there again. All I can say is the food was good but the service was lousy. It's almost as if we didn't exist. That was our last time to dine there.

    (3)

Service was very average and the steak was poor for the cost. If you ever end up in this area I would try some where else

Really fun place to eat. Had been meaning to stop in and today finally took advantage of some free time and got lunch there. We didn't have steak but rather Chicken fried steak and a Hualapai Melt. Both were very tasty With generous enough portions that we got to take leftovers home. Loved the biscuits that were brought to the table as well as the cowboy beans. All in all seemed like a fun place it wasn't Crowded when we were there which was after the lunch rush and we enjoyed the decor and the decent prices. I am sure we are going to eat there again. And not just because there were temporary tattoos in the bathroom in the vending machine, which I got to admit that seems pretty awesome. :D

  • Bea D.

Service was really bad. Server messed up my appetizer order and my drink order. Also I paid $23 for a steak that wasn't all that great. That's kind of pricey. The Bloody Mary was good but that's about the only positive thing I have to say about this place. Won't be going back.

  • Patrick B.

AVOID Filet Minion was $23.99! Staff acted as if they were doing you (the customer) a favor. All hot food was not hot enough, steak was not cooked to order, staff inquired perfunctorily AFTER the meal how it was. Not worth he money and not professional.

We are in Kingman a couple of times a year for my husbands work so we are always looking for a good place to eat..This was not it! Terriable service, ok food, and high prices for the product. Service was horrific at best. Food had no flavor, could have paid less for a similar steak at Black Angus if I wanted generic steak, and atleast then it would have had flavor!!!! You could not pay me to return to this establishment.

    (1)
  • Katz K.

I wanted something light, so the server suggested the grilled catfish. She was right about its "melt-in-your-mouth" qualities. Same with the biscuits, yum! However, Tom offered me a taste of his Grilled Margarita Chicken, and I fell in love!! Luckily, the portions are large so I could have some more. Definitely a place to Bookmark.

  • Candice Z.

Bacon wrapped filet. mmm!!! This place has probably the best steak in Kingman, besides when I would cook it myself at home. I love that floor is covered in saw dust, and the service was really friendly. I would go back here for a nice steak dinner next time I'm in K-town.

  • Rich S.

This is a good, fun restaurant. The food was good with steaks being the specialty. The service was great but the music was too loud but that was my bad for sitting in the bar. I will eat there again.

  • Chris C.

Overall the food was ok. My corn chowder soup was phenomenal as were the biscuits. They were warm and soft, clearly fresh out of the oven. I ordered the rib eye for my entree. It came out under cooked so I sent it back. When I did eat it it had good flavor but it seemed overly fatty even for a rib eye. It came with garlic mashed potatos which were wonderful. Overall decent meal but for a steakhouse the steak left a little to be desired.

This place isn't sure what it wants to be. Fancy steakhouse or comfy family casual dining? It has elements of both but nails neither. From the glassware to the menu to the decor -- it's all a mishmash of confusion. Maybe Arizona shouldn't try steak? Sorry, state. Then you get to EAT the steak: dear lord in heaven. My filet was a salisbury steak from Hawthorne Elementary free lunch in 1985. It being wrapped in bacon only brought attention to the fact that the bacon was from a pig who'd been dead since around that same year. BISCUITS ARE AWESOME. MAYBE BRING MORE THAN ONE NEXT TIME? And salads should have veggies -- not chips and cheese.

  • John H.

I'll give them a c÷ for effort. The place is dated and doesn't feel clean. The steaks were what I would expect from dennys, not a steakhouse. My 14 oz porterhouse was 1/4 in thick and very rare. Asked for medium. Salad was so so, and they gave us a small bowl of beans to share. Might try again for a burger, but no more 24 bucks for a $15 meal

Wife and I were traveling and stopped in Kingman AZ for the night and decided we wanted steak so we went to Dambar. We were promptly seated but from that point things went downhill. The waitress was disinterested and kept saying as she walked by I'll be back. She forgot the rolls when she brought the salads. When our orders arrived my wife's steak was rare and she ordered med well. I ordered fried shrimp and ended up giving her some till her steak returned from the kitchen. The shrimp were nothing to write home about. I ended up eating some of her steak and was not impressed with the flavor. The cowboy beans were not cooked long enough and we're hard to chew and lacked flavor. The waitress was still disinterested and never asked us if we wanted coffee or desert. This could be a great place if the food and service matched the ambiance. We can definitely say we won't return.

Though the service was okay, the food was also just okay. The prices are exorbitant for what you get. I would not recommend this place unless you just have lots of money to waste.

Excellent restaurant! Staff was accommodating when we swapped from reg area to bar. Waitress very attentive - made certain food was prepared as ordered (I can't eat dairy). Steaks were prefectly cooked. Prices reasonable.

I went here with 3 other guys I spent the day working with. 3 of us had the Dam-Red micro brew and one of us ordered the house Cabernet, The beer was good not great and the wine was better than most house wines but nothing to write home about. The server was attentive and brought some home made biscuits that had herbs in them with whipped herb butter. I could have made a meal out of the biscuits but I didn't and that is a good thing. The entrees are served with soup or salad. The house salad was good but it was served without enough vinaigrette, however the server promptly brought more. The tortilla soup was great and the corn chowder was better than I expected but I've had better. The Dam-Ribeye is 14 ounces (21.99) and is a good cut of meat. It's served with your choice of beans, Baked potato, fries, or vegetable. The veggie was broccoli and carrots. The Steak is served broiled and smothered with glazed onions. This was a dam-good steak. The Salmon was a decent sized portion and everyone left feeling fully satisfied. Two of the people I ate with had dinner the night before at a different steakhouse in Kingman and they both said this place was better. This is a place with good food, fair prices and decent portions. It is not a place where you are going to get the best meal of your life, however , I would not hesitate to eat here again and I think you may want to try it out if you are passing through Kingman.

Its a good steakhouse if you are new to Kingman. I enjoyed the atmosphere here; very relaxed and western. The service was good and the waitress was ok but not spectacular. I liked how the dining was completely seperate from the bar/noise area. The steak was cooked jus perfect, mouthwatering and delicious. I was not a fan of their cheese biscuits... Overall I had a good dining experience.

First time eating at the Dambar and have to say it was a terrible, there was about 7 tables with people at them, 2 waitresses helping those tables and wait times way to long to get any help, food was sub-par at best ( best thing on my plate - fries and pickle spear ) won't go there ever again

    (1)
  • Tracy J.

Food was very good. Service was horrible and they messed up our order twice. Damred Lager is so tasty. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Biscuits are yummy. They would have gotten a higher rating if the service had been better.

On the way back from the Grand Canyon, my friends and I wanted a place to eat and somewhere to get nearby gas, so thanks to yelp, we were able to find this steak house. We arrived at around 8pm, and we walked in and there were very few customers so we were seated quickly. The food was pretty good, and portion size was decent. Dim lighting though, so it was hard to see what we were eating at times, and food did take a little while to come out. I got the dambar ribeye, which was supposedly marinated in their Dambar brew, along with mushrooms and onions, and came with some salted and steamed broccoli and carrots. Good tasting, lots of flavor. Overall, nothing that wowed me, but still good service and a quiet, hearty meal.

We eat here all the time, but lately the service and food has not been very good. Not sure what is going on. We still love Amy, but our orders have not been right, and the food has been sub-par to say the least. Get your act together, you're better than that.

We had spent the night in Kingman, driving along Rt. 66 from Chicago to LA. The owner of our motel had recommended the place and said we get a 10% discount with our motel receipt, which is often an immediate red flag for me. We showed up, and the parking lot was PACKED with locals. We were worried that we couldn't get in, but getting a seat in the dining room was quick and easy. Turns out it was wing-night in the bar, which explains the massive crowd, but it's always nice to see a place packed with local clientele when you're on a road trip. We both ordered the Dambar Steak (with the sauce on the side) and the poblano peppers and onions were the perfect compliment to the steak. Mine was a little over-cooked (I like steak on the rare side of medium rare), but the sirloin was full of flavor and I didn't even notice it was on the medium side of medium-rare. We also got a GIANT salad to go with the meal. Everything came out fast, was tasty, and our server was attentive, despite the busy dining room. The best part (IMO) was that they had their own microbrewery on-site. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping by the bar for the Dambar beer. The steak we ordered was good, but the beer was GREAT! Service was quick and attentive, and we felt like the only tourists in the joint. Even the sheriff stopped by while we were eating. The restaurant was decorated with old photos and memorabilia from the ranching/gold rush days, which added a nice touch. No chain-restaurant feeling here. It almost feels like a chain, until you take a closer look at the photos/memorabilia they have along the walls. Lots of interesting photos and souvenirs from the original settling days are used for decoration If you're spending the night in Kingman, on your way to the Grand Canyon or elsewhere this is most definitely a satisfactory meal with large portions. It reminded me of being back in Wisconsin. Good food, good service (despite being swamped), and good food. Not a super classy, but quite satisfying, and a good standby for your travels along Rt. 66.

Clean but very dated. Needs an update. The bar area was not inviting. I came in the wrong entrance. Very modest food. Very pricey beef for such an ordinary place. I felt I was back in the '60's. Iceberg lettuce still served. Just too bare essentials. There are so many wonderful foreigners travelling to see our great country that I felt embarrassed that kingman, az doesn't have more food options.

    (3)
  • Rob T.

It started out promising with the fantastic rolls and decent salad but quickly came to a halt when I received my steak which was clearly rare not medium rare. I had ordered the 21oz trail boss which was undercooked, under-seasoned, fatty, and stringy. This is the 4th steak I've eaten in 5 days traveling from Missouri and by far the worst.

We got in late and they treated us well. Didn't rush us at all. We had steak and ribs and they were very tender. The mixed drinks were very tasty also. Good and friendly service. Cool place.

  • Lisa H.

Very slow service, and the food is unremarkable at best. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, and then sat in for yet another long wait to be served drinks. I've never seen service this slow! The food was average - not terrible but not good either. For the price, I expected something more in both the quality of the food AND the service. We will not be returning.

Wow, $180 for four of us (including tip) for a horrible meal. We had eaten here before and had good memories of our meal but this trip was not reminiscant of that. The atmosphere is nice, a causal western steakhouse, and the service was prompt and friendly. Thus ends the good part. When you get up into the $20 range for a steak, you would expect a decent cut of meat. Not here, my N.Y. was about as thick as a Denny's breakfast steak and about as seasoned. In fact I do not believe there was any seasoning on our steaks. Add to that the fact that these were not "prime" cuts of beef. We buy Harris Ranch at the grocery store in calif. and trust me, you can tell the difference between good meat and average. This was merely average. We all got steaks so I cannot comment on the burgers. Maybe they are ok. As I said the service was relaxed and friendly so I hate to bash the place, plus there are not many choices for dining in Kingman but if you want a good steak it might be worth your while to look elsewhere.

Was recommended by the Queen motel receptionist. Although the decoration was nice and seemed to have a nice atmosphere, we were not wowed by this. Shared a $13 half rack rib with fries / vegies, which were just meh. Plus the place was dirty (table, floor). There's so much choice in this area, look at something else before resorting to this joint.

Absolutely the worst steakhouse I have been to. I ordered a combination platter of 1/2 slab ribs and 8 oz sirloin. Waitress recommends saying that the "Sirloin is so tender it will melt in your mouth!". I received my salad righ away (good salad) but didn't receive any bread, I had to ask the waitress twice before she brough out two tiny biscuits on a saucer plater. I should of waited, biscuits weren't that good. After the entree came out about 30 minutes later (they seemed to be very slow) my first observation was that the steak was much smaller than 8oz and full of fat. When I cut into it, it was raw/rare and not the medium rare I had ordered. While I'm waiting for the waitress to come back to have her take my steak back, I dive into the baked potato. It came out dry...and cold. I added butter to it but it didn't even begin to melt. Waitress comes around and I show her the steak, she takes it back to get cooked a little more. Ironically, the lady sitting next to me is sending her steak back too because it was "way undercooked"". Waiting for my steak, I try the half slab of ribs....stone cold. These things taste like they have been sitting out all day, they definety not cooked recently. I eat one or two ribs before I cannot take it anymore. My steak comes back ( delivered by somebody else) and it was cooked better. However, it was fatty and tough and not the "melt in your mouth" as advertised. Waitress sees that I have a half eaten steak, barely touched ribs and a cold untouched potato and asks me if I "would like a to go box?" I tell her "I wouldn't want to take this home, it was pretty horrible". With saying another word, she slaps down the bill and takes the plate away. Didn't even blink when I said it was horrible. Never again, I'm warning all of Kingman to not go there. If you are in Kingman and want a great steak, go to Kingman Steakhouse which is only a couple miles away...100 times better.

Its a fun place to eat food. Decent food, decently priced beer. Nice waitresses. Cowboy-ish type of place

Pretty good, Kingman-wise. Beats the heck out of Carl's Jr. or McSquat burgers. I had a fairly good rib-eye that was smothered in onions. It was broiled/grilled, but it was not too bad. I had their "house-made" dark lager beer. Wow, it went down REALLY well on a warm afternoon. I'd go there again...

I like this place. Saw dust on the floor, cheesy Western theme, and almost everything on the menu is meat! Turned out the food was good too. This place has a large bar and restaurant, but we only ate. At one end are some faux barn doors that cover an entire wall. Then the tables are covered in a white and red check picnic pattern. The walls have wooden plaques with ranch brandings on them which I thought was articularly cool. The floor has saw dust and wood shavings, although surprisingly not much dirt? Aside from this appealing to my inner suburban cowboy, it was the food that's the real jewel here. We both had the ribeye and good gracious was that good. Succulent, fatty, cooked exactly right at medium rare, and a sizeable portion. Serious grill marks adorned each side of this over inch thick hunk of meat. Really excellent quality of meat used here. My only complaint was that they had lathered on a little barbeque sauce of some kind which I suppose is to local tastes. Once you get past that though, heaven in meatdom awaits you.

This is a dam-good steakhouse. Yes, pun intended - thank you, good night! A tip is to always go to a place railroad employees go to for dinner. This is one of those places.

Mediocrity at its finest. Serviceable menu, poor-to-acceptable service, moderately high prices, and acceptable food. Nothing special, other than the "home brewed" beer, which actually comes in from Prescott.

We had been traveling for 10 hours when we reached Kingman and wanted a decent dinner. The yelp reviews looked good so we stopped here. The menu looked great and I was looking forward to a drink and steak. We were seated by a surly teenager and waited for 15 minutes before anyone else acknowledged our presence. The waitress from the other section said our waitress was on her way. She finally showed up several minutes later flustered and asked if someone has gotten our drink order. We were ready to order at this point and said so. She replied " oh, well... I guess I could take your order but I really have other food to deliver" it would have taken her 2 minutes to take our order! We got up and walked out. She didn't even apologize for our wait and was so disinterested in serving us. I don't fault the restaurant, the menu looked great, but she had a horrible attitude.

We used to eat at dambar frequently but not anymore. Last couple times in there the service was ok but food was not good. Too bad because it used to be good food a few years ago. I prefer kingman steakhouse instead.

On our way to Utah we stopped in Kingman for a late lunch. Ken remembered a place we had discovered on our last trip through the area called The Dambar Steakhouse. It's decorated in a rustic cowboy theme, with sawdust on the floor, corrugated tin dividers, and red checkered tablecloths. The menu holds no surprises - there's lots of fried appetizers, a few Southwestern dishes, and much meat. Ken decided on pork chops ($13.99), and I ordered chopped steak ($9.99). Meals come with soup or salad, biscuits, cowboy beans and choice of potato. The biscuits are fabulous, light and flakey, with herbs mixed into the dough, served with herb butter. But even better than the biscuits is the meat. My chopped steak seemed to be freshly ground, and handled with the lightest touch imaginable. Recipes always tell you not to be rough when mixing and shaping hamburger, that kneading it to mix in seasoning or other ingredients will make it tough. I never appreciated that bit of information until I ate this ground steak. It felt like there were little air pillows between the bits of meat so that when I chewed a mouthful, I could appreciate the beefy taste, rather than just chomping my way through seasoned rubber. A light bulb moment! I promised then and there to never manhandle the beef again. And Ken's pork chops - they actually tasted like meat, almost like a cross between pork and beef, with a nice chew. If you closed your eyes you could see the actual pig, not a styrofoam, plastic-wrapped tray of pallid pork. As Ken said, it was "REAL" food. Our shared piece of mixed fruit pie lived up to the standard, too. The filling was almost tart, not overly sugared and cooked to death, and each piece of fruit could be identified. Even the pieces of rhubarb still had texture. Debbie, our server, was friendly yet professional, and seemed genuinely pleased that we had enjoyed our meal.

We went here last Friday, and we were generous tippers, but the bartender got surly before closing hours saying they were closed. I couldn't help overhearing this was her first night on the town in awhile and she has a 4 year old and seems to be a single mom. I can certainly empathize, but that doesn't give you the right to be rude to customers. Funny, because the manager joked with us a little earlier, "You just can't get good people anymore!" when he had some disagreement with her. I guess he wasn't joking. I recommend BJs for food and drink. We went there and had a better time for it. P.S. The waitress at the table was really sweet to us fogies and she had great retro earrings.

First time eating at the Dambar and have to say it was a terrible, there was about 7 tables with people at them, 2 waitresses helping those tables and wait times way to long to get any help, food was sub-par at best ( best thing on my plate - fries and pickle spear ) won't go there ever again

Bacon wrapped filet. mmm!!! This place has probably the best steak in Kingman, besides when I would cook it myself at home. I love that floor is covered in saw dust, and the service was really friendly. I would go back here for a nice steak dinner next time I'm in K-town.

This is a good, fun restaurant. The food was good with steaks being the specialty. The service was great but the music was too loud but that was my bad for sitting in the bar. I will eat there again.

Food was very good. Service was horrible and they messed up our order twice. Damred Lager is so tasty. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Biscuits are yummy. They would have gotten a higher rating if the service had been better.

Service was really bad. Server messed up my appetizer order and my drink order. Also I paid $23 for a steak that wasn't all that great. That's kind of pricey. The Bloody Mary was good but that's about the only positive thing I have to say about this place. Won't be going back.

AVOID Filet Minion was $23.99! Staff acted as if they were doing you (the customer) a favor. All hot food was not hot enough, steak was not cooked to order, staff inquired perfunctorily AFTER the meal how it was. Not worth he money and not professional.

On my most recent visit I decided to mix things up and eat in the bar. This proved to be a wise decision. Amy is a fantastic bartender. I didn't feel like a steak this time so I tried the burger. Good call! The burger was generously sized, cooked to order and topped with a slice of cheese and plenty of hot crispy bacon. My side of fries was hot and crispy. All in all, about as good of a bar burger as I have eaten in recent memory. I'm adding a star for Amy and a star for the burger. Hooray!

Excellent restaurant! Staff was accommodating when we swapped from reg area to bar. Waitress very attentive - made certain food was prepared as ordered (I can't eat dairy). Steaks were prefectly cooked. Prices reasonable.

We got in late and they treated us well. Didn't rush us at all. We had steak and ribs and they were very tender. The mixed drinks were very tasty also. Good and friendly service. Cool place.

Hooray!
