Great selection of draft beers and whiskey; comfortable atmosphere. Fun place to meet with friends to enjoy adult beverages. Good happy hour specials.

I love this place. I'm here for my third st pattys day, and I wouldn't spend it anywhere else. James Jay, the owner, is one of the nicest guys around, the staff is super helpful and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is casual and unassuming. Dog friendly until nighttime, people friendly always, great beer selection, and community events--not to mention pool. What more could you want from a pub?

I love this place so much that I have been known to drive the two hours from Phoenix just to hang out and have a few pints of KilKenny and just enjoy the locals. The bartenders are the best in town, always so friendly and helpful if you have any questions on scotch this is the place to go.

Although Uptown is mainly a pool hall, it also has the best beer selection in Flagstaff. Tons of Irish, English, German etc. imports as well as excellent microbrews. They even have a pumpkin beer on tap around Halloween time. Uptown draws an interesting crowd, mostly somewhat older (than the usual bar scene) people interested in playing pool or sitting at the bar drinking good beer. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and love to talk about beer. This is a great place if you want to have a quieter, more laid back atmosphere than some of the other bars in Flagstaff. The happy hour is also hard to beat, with half off any beer. I don't drink hard alcohol, but they also have a huge selection of this, if you're not into beer.

The bar in town 'where everybody knows your name', awesome beer selection, fabulous bartenders and a welcoming atmosphere - even if they don't know your name. Can't say enough good things about Uptown!

I used to love this place back in the day. They used to have a couple quarter pool tables, which were a lot less expensive than the sometimes $40/hr for the other tables. I'm not a pool playing guy, I just like to hang out and drink beer. Ok as a date spot. Pretty quiet and mellow. There's a jukebox, but the music played usually is the type that makes you want to curl up in a ball and cry yourself to sleep. My real issue with this place is with this horribly unfriendly bartender the last time I was there. 30-something guy with a healthy beer gut hating life. I used to bartend, and yeah, there's your bad days, but dammit, at least attempt to appreciate the business, especially when it's dead (wonder why)

An older crowd than the typical college bar scene, but when you have the best taproom in Flagstaff the kids aren't always into. James and Allie run a great bar and pool hall. A bar where you only need visit a few times to become a regular.

Great selection of beer on tap, including a couple of English options for bonus points. Scotch selection rivals the beer choices. Good, mellow crowd of all ages, attentive and friendly bar tenders, books and board games in the back space where the tiny stage is, rarely an overly long wait for a table and free wi-fi so you can yelp it up if there is - all around winner in my book. I'd dock a point for the 50c charge to use a cc for under $10 bucks, but I give it back because they just stated playing Davis's All Blues

This place doesn't deserve a single star. Horrible service and staff.

This is a great place to grab a brew. Beer selection is Excellent (nothing out of the ordinary though... if you're a brew fiend... you've most likely tried everything this place has already) Every time I'm in Flag... this is on top of my list to get people together. It's chill enough to have conversations with friends but loud/busy enough to interest your crazy friends too. Prices are VERY reasonable for drinks and the tables.

Way, way more than a pool hall. The biggest and best selection of drafts, Scotch, whiskey, and other liqueurs. From the library in back, to the knowledgeable and talented bat staff, to the regular whisk(e)y tastings and literary events, to the shuffleboard and dart boards, this is the place to be no matter what you're looking for in a bar. More than any other place in town, this place embodies the spirit of a public house.

Fantastic owners and staff, a beautiful space that just seems to be getting better, and a crowd of people as intelligent as they are badass. I think this bar offers everything a small-town pub should; a warm environment, a great beer and whiskey selection, nice tables, and thoughtful events for all walks of life. Love this place.

A fine place to shoot stick, with many nicely kept tables. Very good selection of drafts and superior service and freindly to boot.

This bar is family! Regulars and locals are in-cahoots with one another and that's a great thing when you are drinking. Huge scotch and whiskey as well as beer selection, great specialty drinks, and little or unknown tasties. The bar hosts frequent scotch and whiskey tastings that are loaded with know how and history. The bar also hosts many of Flagstaff's literary happenings. Narrow Chimney Reading series happens on Mondays. Bartenders are the best in town and all who visit here are lively, conversational, happy, smart, and just damned good people. It's home and family away from home. Oh yeah, they have pool tables, shuffleboard, and darts as well as a big reading library with board games. The patio is my favorite place to be in the summertime.

This place has been a favorite of mine since it opened. Great beers and billiards in a smoke-free environment. The draft beer selection is large and good, so it is a good place just to drink if you don't want to play pool.

My bf and I used to play pool all the time when we first started dating. I will fully admit that I am not a good pool player but I have fun with it. We got here about 8 and didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for an open table and we paid $8 for an hour of pool. The cider i ordered (I wish I could remember the name) was not good, it had an unpleasant aftertaste. There are lots of pool tables which was nice to not have a long wait for a table and the servers were nice.

Beyond the excellent beer and scotch selection, there's a gathering space in back for groups to get together and hang out. Bands sometimes play here as well. Its a local place with a good vibe.
