Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

1 hour & 26 minutes later the pizza guy showed up with a cold pizza and without the toppings I ordered. NEVER AGAIN! Worst $24 I ever spent.

Your basic "fast food" type pizza; you know, the kind that makes the roof of your mouth hurt after eating it. It's okay in the moment, I guess. Anyway, what was weird about this place was its three employees. I have never seen people with such a lack of personality and absolutely no interaction amongst themselves. I've worked pizza places and I know it's not really worth it to be chipper, but these guys were just eerie. Add to that the front counter man was trying to discourage us from eating inside, presumably because they wanted to close the place a bit early. This is definitely one of those places for drunk college kids. That said, not really worth it for regular people looking for a decent pie.

Strait up the best pizza and wings in town, and I'm from New York. Is it good.... Forget about it.

  • Jon W.

Awesome pizza from these guys. Perfect crust and tasty sauce all the time! One of my favorites for delivery here in FLG. The wings are great as well! Delivery is usually very fast with these guys.

This place is good if you're in a pinch and don't have time to sit down and eat. Pizza is so-so and cheap. Don't expect any friendly type of service here from the owner or other workers. Best just to go in and out.

  • Randy W.

So I have been eating here off and on for years. When in the area this is my pizza of choice. Made from scratch and excellent ingredients. It is nice to have a place locally where I can get a great slice. Recently the guys came through when I had a large party. Last minute food order. Took just a little longer them what I thought. But well worth it.

Flavor is pretty good. But they had a hard time finding my hotel (can't you just google it?) the pizza was cold when it got to me.

    (2)
  • Ambrose B.

2 earned for flavor! The service over the phone is bad. Rude. No customer service whatsoever! The Delivery boy several times ran away with my change of 5 dollar bills and almost a $10 bill! Geez. Not to mention the pizza is expensive! Choose Pizza guy if you up to the "friendly employees" *Sarcasm* and willing to burn through your hard earned money, for Surprisingly quality really good pizza! Well then this your choice.

Pizza is so so but the bigger problem is the owner. He yells and screams and people and is a liar. I don't like to give my money to people like that. Fratelli or NiMarco's is way better

  • NK S.

This is my go-to favorite pie joint in Flagstaff. Half the time. When pizza guy is on his game, the crust and sauce can't be beat. But half the time you get the other guys sauce which isn't nearly as robust. Give it two trys though. It's worth it.

So...if Mellow Mushroom is a 9 and Domino's is a 3. I would rate Pizza Guy a 4.5. On vacation and ordered because of good reviews. My boys, 9 and 4, didn't like the pizza sauce with a kick on the pizza. I thought it was average. Dough was good, but not even close to Mellow Mushroom. The price is high if you don't have coupons...almost $40 for a 16" veggie and 14" cheese. If you get the coupons of the box, then they have good deals...just not good for passing though for a night

    (2)
  • Sarah Y.

Not half bad for a late-night pizza fix. It is a plus that they deliver until 2:00pm.

    (3)
  • Nathan J.

Used to be good... New owners? Way expensive for basic pizza... Spent $30 for a large 3 toppings and wings. Won't be back.

When I was a freshman at NAU, pizza consisted of Papa Johns. It wasn't until years later that I discovered Pizza Guy, and I'm sad that it took me 2 years to discover them, because when I want a consistent, reliable pizza, it's this place. The dough is great, perfectly cooked, with a little bit of sweetness that I adore. The sauce is hearty and spicy, and there is the perfect amount for me. Not too little, not too much, which is always a positive. I've had both meat and veggie pizzas, and this is one exception where I will say that I love the veggie pizzas more. I usually get a garlic & mushroom, and it's usually fresh. Recently, I got a slightly not hot pizza from them, but I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. Having good prices helps round out Pizza Guy as my favorite fast pizza joint in Flag.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews and say that the pizza tasted pretty good but the customer service is pretty bad. Both guys who were involved with taking the order were jerks and i heard them snickering at my expense. We ordered one pizza, breadsticks and extra ranch. The delivery guy came and told us he forgot the ranch and would send someone over "right away" with our ranch. After waiting over 30 minutes for ranch we gave up and ate without it. It is now the next day and we are still waiting for our ranch :)

I have worked with pizza for about 4 years and this place is a great mom and pop pizza joint. They have very good specails and coupons I want to say they have a 16" pizza for something around the price of 12 dollars it's a little more than Papa Johns but they food is good and you should support small businesses, and you will not be dissappointed by the food. The food is also very consistent. They are also very quick on both delivery and pick up. They have very good dough and sauce. I haven't talked with the staff to much but they have been nice to me everytime I have gone in. P.S. Sam is a great delivery driver, ask for him!

I LOVE Pizza Guy pizza. It's always hot and delicious-delivery or take out. Coupons are plentiful with every pizza and sometimes on my door knob. The dough is so amazing. It's perfectly moist and soft but not sticky. There is never too much or too little sauce. The veggies are fresh and not overcooked. I can't speak for the meat, but my roommates seem to love it. The only negative thing I've experienced is that the employees act like they hate you when you order or pick up your food. Oh, and it's pretty much take out only-not a restaurant you can sit and eat in. I think you may be able to get slices during lunch and there is one table, I think. Try Fratelli's or Nimarco's if you want local pizza from a sit-down place. I've heard good things about Alpine too.

I have been ordering delivery from pizza guy for years with no trouble. Pizza is always hot when it arrives. We called tonight for delivery and the person who answered the phone placed us on hold for 10 mins and never came back, called them back again and was hung up on, called a 3rd time and placed an order for a pizza with Canadian Bacon, mushrooms, feta cheese. The guy on the phone kept saying ham and didn't know what feta was, even though this is all on their menu...order placed...I called back to make sure the order was correct, same guy still saying ham and was very rude when I asked to talk to a manger he said he was the manager and refused to give me his name. Needless to say I was upset and became very vocal. I will NEVER order from here again!

    (1)
  • Chelsea S.

The only good thing is they delivered quickly. Nothing special about the pizza. Sauce is kinda spicy. Cheesy bread is nothing like the picture. It's basically just bread with very little cheese. Won't be ordering from them again.

Ok folks! **UPDATE! 1/3/15 -One hour after I ordered at 3:45pm on a Saturday, they bring the pizza with the wrong toppings. They took the pizza back, I haven't eaten in close to 30 hours at this point, so needless to say, no corrective action taken on the company's part, after I had pulled the pizza apart with my fingers to prove there was no topping on it....they will likely toss the pizza. What a waste. The pizza is excellent and I know things happen...so I just hope next time is better. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Now... I judge pizza based on leftover edibility as well. Unfortunately this pizza didnt get that test, we gobbled it up quickly. Excellent crust composition, the pizza sauce was very good too, not acidic and over-cooked, and good sauce/crust/cheese/topping ratio. (We just got pepperoni). I would have liked larger slices.

Pizza is good. Service is friendly. My favorite thing about this place is that they hand toss their pies, I'd take that over Pizza Hut any day! Also seems local, as always, support small businesses!!!!(:

Terrible called to order at 1 am. They said they were open till 2am and did not get An answer to order pizza.

So heres the story. I used to be very cheap when it came to ordering pizza. Used to spring for the $5 pizzas. My fiance wanted to try The Pizza Guy out one time. Well since then I haven't been able to order from anywhere else. Food is more expensive but extremely good. I normally order same thing. Large meat lovers and a ton of wings. The wings are a pretty good size. This last time I went on their website and saw there is even a 20" XTRA Large. It is an extra bonus that they even will deliver to my house even though I live on the opposite side of town.

I am a pizza fanatic . Real pizza fanatics don't eat Pizza Hut, papa johns , etc...... After moving from Germany and eating pretty close to authentic Italian pizza always I wouldn't say this is like that but it was delicious . Had a slice of pep and cheese , will be going back !

I have been recently stopping by to get the lunch special. This began when I realized I had things a day off and my daughter was not getting hot lunch at school. I ran over to Pizza Guy and grabbed 2 slices for her. When they ran my credit card (all I had on me to pay), it was declined. Knowing I had plenty in my account and there was an electronic error, I explained my hurry to get food to my daughter for her lunch. The owner said it would be alright to run the pizza over to my daughter's school and come back to pay him. THAT'S SERIOUS LOCAL KINDNESS! The staff is always really nice and gets the order going. Quick, easy and tasty is perfect for a mama always in a hurry. Last Saturday night, we decided to order pizza for delivery. Not only did the pizza arrive ahead of the ETA I was told, the driver was seriously the nicest delivery person I have ever dealt with! We LOVE this place.

I ordered Pizza Guy while staying in Flagstaff for the night. The pizza was pretty average, it tasted like pizza. The salad was the same way. The delivery service was great and the girl was really friendly. I'd say I would eat here again.

  • Robert Y.

This place is ok. The pizza here has great crust and is available for purchase if one wants to get it. However the pizza itself is not really my favorite. For one, the sauce is too robust for my taste, and second, the cheese they use is pretty cheap tasting, probably because it is cheap. However if you are looking for a quick and cheap lunch, you could do worse than come here. I came in and got a cheap two pizza and soda deal for about $5. It was served promptly and without any pomp and circumstance. This is mostly a delivery place anyway, and there were only 3 tables in here which makes it seem like they don't want customers. However I found the people there to be nothing short of kind and accommodating. I would come here again if I needed a quick lunch, but other than that I wouldn't seek it out automatically.

Had a Pizza Guy pie last night. It was good but they don't have beef or meatball on the toppings list. Never seen that omission before. Easy walk from the Doubletree hotel.
