This Jack-in-the-Box has a special place in my past. It was the place we all gathered after high school outings, after college outings, and after all night outings ... BRING BACK THE MONSTER TACO!! I stopped in for an order of 2 for 99 cents tacos and it was heaven. Where I currently reside there is no JITB. Yes, the tiny little town I am temporarily residing has no Jack within a 150 miles radius. Sad but true. So whenever I am in Flagstaff, which is once a month, I take in a few of my favorites at my old stomping grounds. Also want to add, I worked here for a summer once upon a time.

What can I say, it's Jack-in-the-Box. If you're resorting to drive-thru fast food then you've already accepted some sacrifices. That said, they got my order right the first time, the food was hot, tasted good (again; it's fast food not fine dining) and the portions were good value for money. Service was quick and accompanied by a quirky sense of humor (always a bit of a risk when you work at the drive-thru). The drive-thru here is open 24-hours. Considering what they have to work with I'd say this Jack-in-the-Box is doing well.

I remember doing acid once and hiking way up Mars Hill and sitting there looking down at the town. After a while we realized the only thing you could hear from down there was a cheerful metallic voice saying, "Hi, welcome to Jack-in-the-Box, can I take your order?" Kind of sad. We cried, I'm sure. Then we went up and got chased by some dogs at the observatory. After several hours we ended up sitting on the steps at Anthony's house down on Tombstone Ave., to see if he'd come back out. So I guess that's worth a star.
