2 stars for the service/attitude. The food is good. I ordered take out food one Saturday while enjoying a beer next door at a brewery that doesn't offer food. When I picked it up, the owner was barking at an employee on the phone, directing her to tell the caller that Il Rossa was "too busy" for whatever he wanted. Rude, and odd because there were only a few people at the outdoor patio (basically a parking lot). The pizza was good but the calzone had way more dough than fillings. Next I went there on a busy Friday evening (NAU students moving in). The patio, which seats about 20 people, was full. When I walked inside the server immediately said, "Just so you know, we're not doing take away orders." She was not friendly and offered no explanation. The owner was 3 feet away behind the counter at the grill and he didn't acknowledge my presence. No one was sitting inside because it is not air-conditioned and the ovens make it very hot. I would have come back in an hour for a take away order if they allowed me to, but I wasn't allowed to order take out at all. We ate elsewhere. I think this owner needs to take his "Soup Nazi" attitude back to NYC.

Probably the worst service I have had in a long time. The food was alright, but we felt really unwelcome because of how the employees were acting. I don't think we will ever go back! ...Also, the owner here is a jerk! I'd advise anyone that plans on going here to read over what he replies to people. They don't understand the service industry. He first messaged me and then replied back with a different story. There was plenty of time for us to eat and leave before the place actually closed! The cashier was just all around extremely rude. She told us she was putting our food in a to-go box because she didn't want to do the dishes. I understand that she probably wanted to be off work, but she could have approached us in a entirely different way. I usually am a big tipper, but I felt like they did not deserve a tip! I just wish the employees were more genuine like everyone else in this town!

Italian food is my absolute favorite cuisine, and I know quality Italian food when I have it. Il Rosso is without a doubt a wonderful experience for your tastebuds. I ordered the Veal Parmesan Sub and a side of fries. Fries are fries, but even these seemed better than most. The Veal was masterfully prepared, with an authentic red sauce to rival many restaurants that consider their sauce to be the best. Point being, give this place a shot, they work their asses off to make amazing food.

Il Rosso serves hot, fast, Italian-inspired food at honest prices. Perfect for college students and latenight downtown wanderers. I wasn't sure what to get at first, but the staff helped me select something perfect for me. The parma ham fried calzone was exactly what I needed on an empty stomach and a tired mind. It's walking distance from Steep - where I'll be going next to relax and digest that delicious meal. There's patio seating where I encountered a few friendly dogs. This place rocks.

This place has great food. When you drive by the place doesn't look like much. There is a nice outdoor eating area but the inside of the restaurant is very small and there are not many tables. One of my favorite things is to sit down at a restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere. As long as you get a table this is very achievable. The fries are good but I would recommend getting a topping on them. The cheese fries are good. I've tried NiMarco's, Oregano's, and Fratelli's pizza and I have to say Il Rosso's is the best in Flagstaff. The pepperoni is so good. You won't be disappointed. The prices are also affordable! Though they just opened, I truly hope they move to a larger location soon. Great place to eat, you'd be crazy to pass this place up.

This is one of the best restaurants in town. It's very reminiscent of some of the small pizzeria's as they are called in NJ. However this place serves more high quality pizza. As for the pizza, the pizza is very good, and stands as one of the best in town. It's light, and airy, and a little doughy, which is something that I do not like as much anymore now that I am accustomed to Pizzicletta and NJ Pizza Company. I do however love their sauce and the quality of cheese, which makes their pizza among the best in town. But that's not all, this place also serves The meatball and chicken parmesan subs, both of which are also excellent. They also have other stuff on the menu including some great looking salads, however I have not sampled them yet, but I am sure they are great. However, this place really needs to be kept up better. It's been around for about a year now, and although the seating area is very small, its not kept up the best and its very dirty at times. I also ran into a problem a couple of times early on when I wasn't able to order a pizza because they were catering a party, so I hope that they have solved this potential issue. The customer service is fine. Everyone who works here does a great job, and the owner/cook is particularly nice and seems proud of his work and what he does.

Small pace, with a nice patio and some great pizza if you like a think crispy NY crust. I sampled both the traditional cheese pizza and the bianco. The traditional cheese was spot on, the sauce was not to sweet, cheese cooked until separations and that aforementioned crust. Bianco pizza was decent, but it was a bit dry and lacked much fat due to the ricotta cheese, I think a drizzle of olive oil or truffle oil could fix this. They are also open late so you can make this your forth meal even.

Pros: good mac and cheese. Good fries. Neutral: quality of the veal not great. Italian sub seemed skimpy on the meat. Cons: quirky, spotty service by the waitress and slow service. The " melty" cheese has a funky texture and aftertaste. Watery tea that barely tasted like tea. Overall: ok. Will try the pizza next time since the reviews on that look great.

Mr. Man and I split the "Pizza Pie" (Their reference) and lil' darlin' had the "Burger all the way". We enjoyed a rain free moment, and sat outside on their "lanai" which has 4 tables. Great outdoor seating, just off of the hubbub of Downtown Flagstaff at the intersection of Aspen and Beaver. The Pizza was good sized and nice and crispy. Lil' Darlin enjoyed the Burger and fries. 4 stars is no joke, though I've no doubt it could be five star. Support the local venues, and enjoy their food and ambiance. They're considering delivery in the near future.

Just eat here. You won't regret it. They deep fried the Calzones and Strombolis. And everything else is on point too.

My husband and I were in Flagstaff for the weekend house hunting. We went to the Uptown Pubhouse for a drink, and asked the door guy where we could get a bite to eat. He recommended Il Rosso for some killer Italian food. We walked over and ordered a 13" pizza, which was more than enough for the two of us. Bob was busy in the kitchen cooking orders, but made the time to engage each patron as they came into the restaurant. When our pizza came, it looked awesome. And it was awesome. Best pizza we ever had. This place is small and a little off, but we loved it. This for sure will be our go to pizza/Italian food choice once we relocate.

Let me make this clear to people who seem to have the wrong impression of this place: This isn't a classic sit-down "restaurant" like some reviewers seem to think it is. This is a pizza and sandwich joint. This is street food pure and simple, they even have gravy cheese fries on the menu (protip: They're awesome), and hot dogs, so don't expect high-class Italian fare. My first meal at Il Rosso was right after they opened. My wife and I went for lunch and we were impressed by the quality of the meats and bread they used for my sandwich. We later took some of our good friends to Il Rosso one night for pizza, salad and of course, gravy cheese fries and they were blown away- it's become a regular guilty-pleasure eatery for all of us since. Possibly the best time at Il Rosso's that I've had has been when a friend took us there as a reward for helping her move. She ordered a feast of antipasto salad, stromboli, pizzas, fries, calzones... just a heaping platter of great things. I have to say that I was impressed by just how delicious each menu item was and how accommodating the staff was. The gravy is flavorful, the pizza dough is just about perfect, the quality of their deli meats and other ingredients is fantastic, and it's all not very expensive at all. We had a large party but we were seated on the terrace so there was no problem getting us all together. Inside the restaurant is a bit tight, so large parties probably aren't a good idea when the weather gets cold (which is ok, because they do takeout!) I (and a good deal of people we know!) will continue to support Il Rosso. They fill a casual dining niche that is lacking downtown. The staff is always delightful and friendly, the food has always been consistently good, and the beers always nice and cold. Il Rosso rocks!

Visiting Flagstaff after the Grand Canyon we had one chance for a great meal and this place came highly recommended. Unfortunately it didn't turn out well. Our family of five was seated at an outside patio table with only four seats and even though there were empty tables we were not allowed to push two together. So I got the corner. No big deal. We cramped into this small table and ordered some drinks with an eggplant appetizer. It took about 15 minutes for a beer and. Glass of wine. Then another 10 minutes before we got our eggplant appetizer. The eggplant was good. Very small appetizer serving but tasty. This is where the fun begins.... Our family ordered a calzone, a pepperoni pizza and one of their specialty pizzas that is named after the restaurant. The speciality pizza is topped with ricotta, olive oil, red peppers and tomatoes. The waitress that was overwhelmed already with way too many tables informed us that the restaurant was out of ricotta cheese. So No calzone and no specialty pizza. We just shook our head and moved on to a very average Stromboli and the specialty pizza with mozzarella instead of ricotta. The pizza crust is pretty good but the service was extremely slow and no remorse for being out of a staple ingredient in their restaurant. It would have been nice if they had apologized for the hassle or offered to take care of us in any way but that was not forthcoming. This restaurant seems to have the makings of a delicious place we would love but not run properly. We will find a different place the next time we are in Flagstaff.

I very much enjoy eating at this little Italian "restaurant," the atmosphere is very relaxing, and plus you get to get a glimpse of the kitchen. I personally enjoy eating the Stromboli because they serve it to you in a bowl with marinara, and they fry them too. They serve bevs either in a bottle, or a can. I usually get a Mexico bottled coke to enjoy my meal. The service is great, I usually am watched over by the server whenever I stop by to get some food. This is the best Italian food in town (in my opinion), so whenever I can and am on the West side of Flag I stop by and get a bite to eat.

Outstanding New Jersey style pizza with an incredible crust. The right kind of mozzarella and delicious sauce. The owner was super friendly and the wait staff was especially friendly and gorgeous. Terrific place!

What pizza place doesn't answer their phone? We called to place a carry out order and a lady answered and immediately put us on hold. Hung up after 5 minutes and called back several times. No answer. We really had our hearts set on a nice night in with some fantastic looking food. Disappointed they didn't want our business.

Stopped here because of a reference from someone at our hotel, and boy did we regret it. The service was atrocious and the menu was lackluster at best. We were only stopping through for a couple of days so we knew nothing about Flagstaff or this restaurant. The inside was completely empty and there was a table outside so we gladly accepted. We wanted pasta, which we did not see on the menu, so we decided to just order a beer and an appetizer. Our waitress took our order and we told her that would be all. While waiting for our beers another couple, who was also passing through town, sat down next to us at our community picnic table. The beer was delivered and then we waited over 20 minutes to receive old cold bread and a small bowl of red sauce. Our neighboring couple also made a comment about the lack of pasta and decided to order a pizza. Not sure how the pizza was because in the hour that we waited with empty beers, their food wasn't delivered. We then waited another 20 minutes before I was able to flag down ANY waitress for our check since they had all snuck off beside the building. Checkout was inside which she never mentioned so we promptly paid our tab and left. Found another restaurant called Pasto only a couple blocks away and had one of the best meals and overall experiences of our life there. I would NEVER recommend eating at Il Rosso Italiane! If you're looking for good Italian and amazing service go to Pasto!! I have also written a review for Pasto if you would like to know what good service and food is like in Flagstaff! **To add: I have now found out that the owner of this establishment is incredibly immature and rude. Definitely not the type of business I would want to spend my money at.

So my husband is from Boston and knows his sub sandwiches and his chicken parm sandwiches. He longs for them. We have tried other sandwich places in Flagstaff but they just don't get it! So here goes... The restaurant has no bells and whistles which is exactly how it should be. When we walked in we said "they get it". Next our subs both delicious, fresh and had great bread, crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. We would have given them 5 stars but the don't have hots. lol. Check them out if you want an authentic east coast sub.

My husband is from Boston and loves a good veal parm sub. This one was great. Would have liked it to be cut in half but will ask for a knife next time. The Genoa pizza with big chunks of green olive and prosciutto was a delicious combo. Ps dog friendly outdoor eating area. Lovely waitress.

We've eaten here twice now and both times have been enjoyable. Our first visit was in Dec. '14 and our most recent in June '15. Our first visit we were travelling with friends and found Il Rosso on yelp (of course). When we arrived, there was only indoor seating available, and as that was limited, our only choice was to sit at the bar. I ordered the special which...at this moment I can't entirely recall. It was a farfalle pasta with a creamy red sauce. It was good, but my body just doesn't do well with such carb heavy dishes. I asked for a beer suggestion (as I'm sooo green) and it didn't end up being at all what I had hoped for (similar to Blue Moon). Our server was helpful and overall the meal was affordable. Our second visit, just yesterday actually, was wonderful. Again, our server was helpful, but this time seating was amply available, probably in large part due to the beautiful summer weather. This time, keeping my carbs in check, I ordered the eggplant cutlet salad...sooo good. The eggplant was breaded and fried, but just enough to cook and leave it crisp. The dressing, oil and balsamic vinegar, I believe (though it tasted a bit sweet, so maybe it was actually a vinaigrette). My hubby ordered fries and a sub. The sub bread was crisp and had just enough body to pull a bit before you bite through. The fries on the side were good -- golden and crisp -- but, again...too carb heavy for my tummy (no duh...I know). We also had our dogs in tow, and they were accommodating, allowing us our choice of patio seating. A big bowl of water was even brought over -- I got the impression it was maybe a communal bowl left out for passing dogs? It had small floaties like you would find falling from a tree, hence my assumption. My only complaint would be that I never had a water refill :( All in all, I feel the restaurant is affordable and enjoyable. I would definitely suggest trying it out.

I'm a little surprised by the rave reviews. My pizza had very sparse toppings and the crust tasted like.. cardboard. (And I typically love thin crust.) The sauce was disappointing too, like it came out of a can or jar. The roasted garlic was nice, however. And the salad tasted fresh, had a simple yet flavorful dressing. Overall, it was okay but not spectacular as I expected from these other yelp reviews.

My husband and I came here on a whim after waiting for 30 minutes in line at another restaurant. Yelp saved the day again! There was no wait, and the service was speedy and attentive. Not much in the decor or atmosphere area, but what's cool is that the guy that owns the place is the guy cooking the food, is the guy who lived in Italy for a while and where he learned to cook. Its not fancy schmancy, but just right for this college town.

Stopped by at 9:00 on a Friday night, asked for seating for six. Normal request for a restaurant, we were told we would have to sit at a four top and a double that could not be moved together. The attitude in this restaurant was terrible, a complete lack of customer service. I wish I could comment on the food but we could not even get that far. What a poor showing for Flagstaff, best of luck for such a rude establishment. There are many customer oriented places in Flag don't waste your time here. I have been in Flagstaff for more than ten years, finding many quality place thus far. In response, the owner is rude. It had nothing to do with "getting our way". If he would have interacted with us in a genuine way instead of texting and being a jerk it would not have been a one star review. All of the responses by the owner are that he is never wrong, clearly displaying his poor attitude.

Hands down the beat pizza I have ever consumed. Including all the pizza I have tried in NY and various other places. Easily the best in Flagstaff. The ingredients were obviously fresh and tasted that way as well. Not usually a fan of thin crust pizza but this absolutely blew my mind. The crust has almost as much flavor as the pizza itself. I live up the street and this was my first time eating here...I'm actually upset I haven't eaten here more. Will be frequenting this place for sure. I love Fratellis and NiMarcos but this place has absolutely outdone them both. Delicious. Literally almost went out and bought another pizza after eating half of this one.

We loved this place! Had two 17" pizzas and had nothing to take home. Glorious crust, never soggy. Enjoyed every bit of it. New favorite for a thin crust pizzas.

I am a 50 year veteran of living in NJ. Plus, I am a pizza expert, having tried many of the best of the best in NJ and NYC. Bob is the owner and hails from Patterson NJ. He loves Pizza Town (Sopranos fans will know the significance). I can honestly say this pizza could stand toe to toe with any the the best in NJ. Congrats Bob. You really deserve 5 stars. Looking forward to many more great pies.

Damn was this a nice surprise or what! I will definitely be back. There was a group of six of us. We sat outside on a picnic table. We ordered three pizzas. One of each specialty along with a house salad. The crust on each pizza was consistent, it was crispy and yet so light! Perfectly browned and perfectly covered in toppings. Not too much and not too little. The ingredients are fresh and the cheese was to die for. I cannot wait to try their hot subs, they sound amazing. Our server was great, knowledgeable and made good suggestions for us. Can I also mention the price?! SO WORTH IT. We had the salad, three 13 inch pizzas, a couple beers and some wine and it was 60 bucks. Cannot go wrong. They also offered a macaroni dinner which sounded quite good and I would like to try their pasta at some time.

  • Jeff V.

One for the service. While the food is pretty darn good, getting beyond the rude staff is unappealing. Just look below at the owners response to constructive criticism. No take out because too busy!? What does that even mean. You'd rather not make money and turn business away than throw a couple pizzas in the oven? Lol! Get over yourself dude. And, the food is good not great. Therefore, your terrible attitude and service will be the downfall of this establishment. I still can't believe a pizza joint is too busy to make pizza for takeout!? Too funny. It's not about getting your way dude. It's about learning some manners and running a decent business and not turning away business. Get over yourself.

This place is so great. If you want a delightful calzone at midnight this is definitely the place to go! I absolutely love the small business look and the location is set right in the middle of the downtown area which makes for an easy meal before heading back to the shops. Just as a warning if you are vegetarian you have to request the "red gravy" without meat. I cannot get enough of this establishment!

Came here on a road trip with some friends. We're all from NY (so we're self-acclaimed pizza snobs) and we loved this place! It was simple, cheap and no fuss. The waitress was polite and welcoming and the food came out quickly and hit the spot. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite in Flagstaff.

We are Flagstaff locals and love to support local restaurants. We finally made it over last night to try Il Rosso and we will definitely add it to our favorites list!!! There is a great selection of italian food, perfect for lunch or dinner, and has a cute little patio in the front. The quality of the food is excellent for the price - we had a stromboli and the calzone with prosciutto - both delicious!!! Their hot sandwiches also looked delicious so will try those next time. The owner Tiffany is very sweet, friendly and truly cares about her business. You should definitely give this place a try and keep supporting small businesses!!!

This place has the best pizza in Flagstaff. I am a pizza lover and have eaten every pizza Flagstaff has to offer, Hands down Il Rosso Italiane kills the competition. Did I mention that the fries are on point as well. Their menu is extensive, they offer a little bit of everything for the family. The ingredients are all super fresh as well. The crew all greeted me when I walked in and we're overly helpful explaining the menu. Come try this place for yourself and I don't think it's possible to be disappointed. I'm shocked at the negative review below about the owner, that person must have the wrong place or be tripping on something, this place is truly AWESOME!!

Had dinner there tonight. It blew my mind. My friend and I split a 13" cheese pizza and a bowl of macaroni with red gravy and a chicken cutlet. Their red gravy was out of this world!! Bob the owner was friendly and told us all about his how he gained his recipes. Our server Liz was easy in the eyes!! I would recommend everyone try!! Don't knock local owned people! Think outside the OG!

Solid Jersey Italian food. Had a great pepperoni, sausage, onion, and olive. I had to ask the server for the olives to be added as the cook usually does not want to do more than 3 toppings, but the pizza was great. My friend had an Italian sandwich. Double capicola and pancheta, no vinegar and it was great. I had a calzone with pepperoni and sausage. They usually deep fry their calzone, but I asked for it baked and it was great. Looking forward to trying it again. Tiffany was real nice an very accommodating to our special requests.

Overall, This restaurant was pretty good. Our server sat us down right away and was nice to us our entire meal. We ordered a regular cheese pizza and a tomato pie, which was very tasty. On the other hand, my wife ordered the Anti Pasto, and was not very pleased. It was completely soaked in vinegar which was WAY too strong. I tried a piece of the salad and I couldn't even swallow it all the way. Everything else about this restaurant was delicious. I do recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a nice Italian meal, just stick with the pizza.

This hidden little gem is near the theatre district of Flagstaff. Our family was driving through to get to the Grand Canyon and happened upon this place. It looked a little bit sketchy and like it had a small menu, but we were totally WRONG! This place was FANTASTIC! They have a large menu with a variety of dishes and salads. The house salad was like a 5 star restaurant with fresh and crunchy greens (not the strips of iceberg that you can get elsewhere). The drink menu was really extensive and they had lots of veggie options. The eggplant parmesan was delicious!!! The eggplant was slightly crispy, perfectly crunchy breading, fresh mozzarella and just the right amount of sauce. Oh, and the bread was super fresh and looked like it was handmade, not a run of the mill hoagie. WOW, what a surprise! Definitely check it out!

I'm writing this review solely based on the conduct of the "owner" of this establishment. We were visiting Flagstaff today and we were looking to walk around the downtown area before stopping into Il Rosso for lunch so we parked in a handicap space in their lot. As we began to walk away from the car, a guy who claimed to be the owner ran out after us yelling "is this your car?!" I turned around and said yes and he began yelling at me saying I couldn't park in that space because it was for his restaurant. We were already walking back to our car as he continued to yell and cause a scene. He asked me what made me think I could park there and I said "it's a handicap spot" and he replied "is being stupid your handicap?" I couldn't believe what he had just said. I told him it is actually for my son who has cerebral palsy! At this point, we were already packing up our car (which takes a couple of minutes since we have to load up our sons' wheelchair) the guy kept yelling and cursing at us and threatening to tow our car. What kind of person yells and cusses at a family with an 8-month pregnant woman and mock a disabled child? This guy is a disrespectful low-life. Please think twice before giving these people your business. **I'd like to add that I've been trying to post this review on their Facebook page and they keep deleting the comment.

Broke my cherry here for a late lunch around 1pm on a Thursday two weeks ago. I was starving and everything sounded good on the menu, so my take out order consisted of a large pepperoni pie, calzone w/prosciutto & chicken parm sub. In about 15 minutes, my food was ready and I headed home in anticipation of a eating a good meal. Pizza: Toppings were fresh & sauce was on point. The crust was light and had a nice crunch with a nice chewiness on the inside, baked to perfection. Hands down the best pizza in Flag!! Calzone: Deep fried. Need I say more? Oh yeah, comes generously topped with their red gravy....stupid crazy good! Chicken Parm Sub: Chicken parm w/melted mozzarela inside of a fresh roll topped with their amazing red gravy.....simply awesome! Good meal? Nah, it was an awesome meal & I ate everything in one sitting. What made everything so good was the freshness of their ingredients, items prepared/cooked to perfection & their "awesome sauce" aka red gravy. Best Italian in Flag and perhaps in AZ.

Excellent, straight up pizza, done right - light crust with just the right amounts fresh, flavorful sauce and cheese, carefully sprinkled with thin ribbons of fresh basil. Breaded veal cutlet done right - just the right amount well-seasoned, light crispy breading covered a tender cutlet accompanied by a small cup of fresh, flavorful marinara; so fresh, so flavorful that I would have preferred more... The Calzone redefines right - You know you are in for something altogether new when you bring the knife down on the calzone to cut into it and it cracks like a thin, crispy shell releasing a molten flow of cheese that runs into a pool of that lovely marinara. Ridiculously rich... bite after bite, until the last piece of shell scoops up the last bit of cheese and sauce. Simple 'Insalata mista' mixed green salad with sweet cherry tomatoes, lightly dressed with olive oil and vinegar, just as it supposed to be but almost never is today with all those other overladen, overdressed sodden heaps that most restaurants try to pass off as salad. (You know who you are and should be ashamed.) My wife and I are just passing through on vacation and had the good fortune to read about this place and give it a try tonight. We found great people serving great food in a great little space. Do yourself a favor and give it a try too!

Granted, I'm only rating this after one experience - so promise I'll update if it changes. Got a couple of Italian sandwiches to go. I have to say, for the very first time since leaving my hometown area of Manasquan, NJ over 25 years ago... where they REALLY know how to make a sandwich... I am SOLD, SOLD, SOLD. Awesome bread, fresh meat and plenty of it... not quite the same... but OH SO GOOD on it's own merits. If the rest of the food is half as good... I might be able to save food craving induced plane fair a few times. Need to get their menu uploaded to YELP. Us old folks can't read the "photo" of it.

I'm so jazzed we found this place! After talking to Bob and trying his tomato pie, I'm transformed. I THOUGHT I wanted a pizza piled with "stuff", however, after chatting w/Bob for a bit, we decided to trust him. He was right. The fresh tomato flavor was front and center, and the dusting of romano & fresh basil on top added the perfect finish. He may hate me for saying this, but the thick slices of boars head pepperoni I talked him into adding on top, was a total bonus! The fact that this place is open til 3am makes me really wish we could wrap it up and bring it back to SD with us;) See y'all next time we pass through. Count on it.

Super super friendly and accommodating to dogs. Genoa pizza and antipasto salad tasted like they were home made and the the salad was made with the best high quality meats. Casual and perfect. What a gem of a place!

Was in town skiing and stopped here for lunch. Had the calzone and the Italian sub. Both were delicious. The red sauce is delicious, and the Italian bread is fresh and warm.

The best eggplant parm, amazing salads and excellent pizza. Being from the east coast I can say these guys are the real deal. Any restaurant that uses the word "gravy" knows what they are doing. I saw some odd earlier reviews addressing cleanliness. Not sure what that's all about (I also have an establishment in town and definitely know what to look for). This place rocks!

I went on a slow evening with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The food isn't that expensive and is pretty reasonable considered the quality and amount you get. We both split a calzone and a 9" pizza and were pleasantly full. The calzone was actually my favorite part! It was cooked and fried to perfection and the cheese inside was absolutely delightful! I'd definitely go back to try more of their menu.

My husband and mother both loved their meals, I got the pizza and I wasn't a fan. It. Was well executed, however was not my favorite type of pizza. I prefer a thicker crust, and this crust is really thin and crispy. If this is the way that you like pizza this is the place for you.

We went to this pizza joint as we had a few times before but thus time we had a BAD experience. We had ordered fries as our appetizer then the chicken parm macaroni special as our entrer. I sat in the middle and had a perfect view into the kitchen. There was a new kid working I hadn't seen before, young tall with dark hair. Anyway he was handling raw chicken with no gloves then wiped his hands on his apron and handled our fries without washing. I thought at first it must be his because he ate 2 of them. Then he brought them to the counter and we were served. I quietly told the waitress I don't want them because of food poisoning risk. She was very kind said we will make you more. She told the owner what happened and he blew up at US. He said the worker was wearing gloves. I said I for certain saw him without. He told us " you didn't see anything he was wearing gloves" he raised his voice in an irate matter accusing us and we became very uncomfortable so asked if we could just pay for our drinks and we left. Scary experience NEVER going back.

Waitresses were great. 40 min for two sandwiches is terrible. Cooks are filthy and rude. Run down building with Crappy patio that does not allow dogs. Ate at Pasto instead, faster, cleaner and only a few dollars more. Do not eat at IL Rosso!

This place is the real deal. Super friendly service and an authentic Italian menu. It has that East Coast attitude, very hip. FYI the "gravy" is the marinara sauce and it is awesome! My husband had the veal parm sandwich and I had the Italian. Both were excellent, and served on fresh baked bread that was to die for. The Italian dressing was homemade and definitely legit. If we were locals we would be regulars but we are only in town for a few days. If you live in the neighborhood this place is definitely worth checking out!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
