I didn't feel like cooking and stopped to order some good Chinese food for the family. Unfortunately, the roast pork chow mein was some of the worse Chines food I've ever eaten and made me feel sick. Ended up throwing most of it out. The fried rice was mediocre at best. I will be trying a different place next time.

Definitely a go to for a Chinese food. Cute decor and friendly wait staff. Prefer this over a fast food place. Lunch time is usually busy but plenty of seating so always can find a seat plus they're always accommodating to bigger groups.

It was all in the smell of the sauce at the door. I can always tell if the cooking is good or not. I smelt the garlic, onions, and ginger in the sauce then walked inside to get a closer look. Meals on other tables looked decent enough. I sat down and browsed the menu then ordered the "Beef Lo Mein" - it was decently good. Not mouth-watering amazing. I would come back again if I didn't find another place superior.

I have been here many times while visiting Flagstaff and hungry for Chinese ---It's off the beaten path and nothing fancy -- not a first date joint LOL.. - maybe even a hole in the wall joint --we mainly get take out .. It is clean though .. - but it's ALL about the food ... food is always good and taste delicious.. Chop suey is one of my favorites, deluxe won ton is outstanding , fried rice is a cant miss - the best in Flagstaff .. Owner operator is always here.. ( Danny)..

We were returning from a trip in Death Valley when we saw this little hole-in-a-wall Chinese restaurant. But, we were pleasantly surprised when we tasted the foid that we ordered. We ordered the crispy duck, Mongolian beef, and shrimp with vegtables. The duck was quite good, it was in pieces, and the skin was very crispy, crackly, and crunchy. The Mongolian beef was delicious too, the beef was very tender and juicy. The shrimp was succulent, with the vegatables and sauce. Will definitely be returning.

Just three days ago I got food poisoning from here. I go here a lot, and usually it's fine, I will not be returning here.

Great service. Egg rolls were good, pork fried rice was decent, orange chicken got off to a good start, but the sauce sort of overwhelmed it and not in a good way. Good value for money, and I'm sure we'll be back, but not someplace I'm craving.

Hunan East is a great Chinese food spot in Flagstaff. It is downtown and has a great lunch menu. The only place better than this is Hunan West. Comparing the two places (I believe they are owned by the same people) The food is better and portions bugger at West, but East is closer and easier to get to. I highly recommend it.

There are two Hunan's in Flagstaff, this one is on 4th street near Radio Shack and called Hunan East, while the other one is near Safeway on Milton and called Hunan West. They are not affiliated with each other. The legend goes that this is an imposter Hunan and that the original one on Milton is the real one. I am sure that there exists some record to make this straight, but in reality, I don't really care. All I care about is the quality of the food, and given my experiences at this place, I must say that it is definitely better than Hunan West, and above average overall. Since it was right by my house, I have rarely eaten a meal here preferring to get takeout. However I have rarely ever had a bad experience with their food. Their food admittedly is not the healthiest or the highest quality as it is made fast food style, so there are no surprises there. However it is tasty and has enough sauce to allow me to skip putting my own soy sauce on it which is a relief since I don't like it when I have to. As for the service, it is much better than average. I am often greeted by the owner himself, and he is one of the most friendly people I have ever met, and he talked about how much pride he has in the restaurant. He always greeted me as if I am a part of his family even though I only indulged in this a couple of times a month.

Food was ok. Got take out that was ok but nothing special. They don't deliver and it is not worth the drive. Drive an extra five minutes and go downtown.

We are from out of town and called this business to order a take out delivery. From the beginning of the telephone call -- to the point where my wife hung up in frustration, the level of customer service was beyond terrible. My wife was quizzed by the woman answering about where she was staying (it is a carry out, not relevant). My wife asks if she can pick it up and again, she is quizzed whether we are on the east side or west side. WE DON'T KNOW. We are on vacation from Illinois. After three minutes of this exchange and repeat, she hung up in frustration. Stay away if you expect to be treated civilly.

My boyfriend and I live in Phoenix. Every winter we make at least 4-5 trips to Flagstaff for snowboarding. I will say that this restaurant has the absolute best Chinese cuisine we have ever eaten!!! Typically we stay to the main parts of Flag for dining. And luckily the one time we ventured beyond we found this diamond in the rough!!!!! The food was amazing, fresh, hot, and quickly prepared. The server seemed not to know englsh very well, and wasn't over the top "friendly" but he did his job well by offering great service. Not only will we go to Flagstaff for the snow, we will also go for Hunan East. We are taking a trip to the grand canyon in a couple of weeks, and we will for sure be stopping there on our way up. 5 stars for you guys, you deserve it!

General Tso Chicken??? I hardly think so. I placed my order waited in the dining room they brought it out 10 minutes before they estimated it would be ready, red flag right there but was in a hurry so I thought "what luck" I get home 10 miles later open my food and sadly in front of me is some sort of watery brown sauce with chicken bits and I kid you not I weighed it 1 1/2 lbs of half cooked vegetables. the chicken is not breaded its just pieces tiny pieces at that, swimming with the vegetables in some generic Chinese brown soy sauce. I called the restaurant to say that I got the wrong order and the person proceeds to tell me that is their version of General Tso chicken. does not even closely resemble the flavor of General Tso Chicken one bit. this is my second and last trip to this restaurant, my first not quite as bad but the sesame chicken was way over cooked and chewed like it was jerky. save yourself the near ten dollars and go buy frozen Chinese food from the grocery you will at least get an edible meal.
