First of all I think that Pot-theme is hilarious and entertaining. I used to go to this sub-shop (at a different location) a lot when I was in college and really enjoyed it then......and still do. The sandwiches are pretty big and my go-to is the white widow (chicken ranch bacon mushroom) which I like to get loaded with all the veggies they pile up. If you get the large it is definitely enough for 2 meals. The staff was very friendly and attentive and I've never had a bad sandwich here.

Very good sandwiches, salads, and snacks, but exasperatingly slow service. Our 2 sandwiches and 2 salads took 25 min to prepare and there appeared to be only one order ahead of us and four employees behind the counter. I recommend calling way ahead for to-go orders.

Best damn sandwich I've ever had and I've been to most the sammich shops in foodie central (Seattle)

I got a blunt of the Kali Mist and it was so good and big I could only have half. But it was so delicious! Also there brownies are so good!! I cut the brownie into twelve pieces and had brownie bites. Definitely a good item to split and I liked the fact that they had kool-aid.

This spot was killer! Cool vibes with a stoner themed menu. Obviously a locals spot for NAU, we were sent here as out of town guest by the employee at the gas station. My selective 14yr old son had "the pac blue" basically a tuna melt+ and I enjoyed the "5-0" which was a toasted Italian sub+. Very casual counter order with super friendly staff.

  • Tyler P.

Good food, great staff, and they sure know how to make some awesome kool aid! On top of it all, thy deliver!

By far the best sandwich I have ever tasted. Get the garlic herb bread it makes everything better. Stopped by on our way from the Grand Canyon and so glad we did. Excellent service and super nice people!!

Nom nom nom Cheba Hut. Seriously, so good. Tons of options and it's all fresh and tastes amazing. Fun vibe and the people who work here have always been super friendly. Grab a goo-ball! They're the best. It is a bit of a wait to get your sandwich, but it's definitely worth it.

This place is AWESOME. Wide variety of sandwiches, plus you can customize them as well. A BIG list of munchies too hahaha. For the sandwiches they had 4", 8", and a 12". I got a 12" BLT, or the Kush, and it was super tasty!! They also delivery to the university! As for the restaurant itself there was a lot of places to sit and small bar! Some local drafts on tap there. At the bar there was also an old Nintendo you can play! Up to four players, things like Mortal Kombat 4 and Super Smash Bros. This place was super chill, the staff there was nice and quick, all in all it was a awesome experience! Can't wait to come again when we're back in Flag!

We stayed in flagstaff for one night before off to see the Grand Canyon. We had dinner here and were very pleased with the creative sandwiches! Food was very good and well priced. Kids are welcome. Wish we had a Cheka hut in Seattle! Yum yum!

Picked it from the reviews. Well worth the stop. Great food. Sandwich creations are tasty and the bread does not overwhelm the sandwich. Will come again for sure!!

I obviously can't prove this, it's just my opinion based on my one other past food poisoning. 10 years ago I had case of food poisoning so bad I was in the hospital for a few days. Since that time I've never experienced anything like it but a few months ago I ate at Cheba Hut for the first time around 8 pm-ish. I ordered a chicken sub, pretzel thingys and some kool-aid. The sub I had, had some green type of sauce with a very distinct flavor, which while I was eating it struck me as odd but I kept eating the sandwich. Ate it and went home. Around 1 am I threw up and all I could taste was that sauce/sandwich. I got up 7 times through the nite and threw up, ranging from a little to a lot and again, all I could taste was that green sauce/sandwich. I finally fell asleep at 6:30 and woke up at 10 and felt great. So the whole thing was weird because since I was experiencing all the symptoms I had 10 years ago, I was expecting to be going to the hospital but obviously it was some kind of minor food poisoning. All I had that day before Cheba Hut was 2 slices of pizza from Little Ceaser's that I had gone in and bought fresh from them (a whole pizza but ate 2 slices). I guess the way I look at it is, I've eaten at Little Ceaser's for over 30 years and never had a problem but the one day I eat Little Ceaser's on the very first day I've ever had Cheba Hut and get sick seems very very suspect at the very least. I guess it's possible to say I could have gotten it from LC but doesn't seem realistic. So I can't prove anything but all I tasted was Cheba Hut, I'll never eat there again.

This place is the most hilarious restaurant I've ever seen. They offer "toasted" subs, call their sandwiches blunts, have a happy hour that starts at 420 every day, are decked out with awesome decor like a cardboard cutout of James Franco and trippy artwork. More importantly: the sandwiches are delicious! I stopped here on a road trip to get a to-go sandwich to take on a hike. The 12" subs cost around $9 or $10, and are big enough to split. I tried the chicken ranch sub on garlic herb bread, which was delicious. The Cheba Hut would be worth a visit for the hilarity aspect alone, but the food is a nice step up from the sandwich chains. And they have beer! Cheba Hut is a short detour off Route 40, and if you're driving through Arizona, you won't find much other than fast food once you leave Flagstaff. Consider getting a blunt to go for your road trip!

  • Dirk S.

I ordered the Kali mist and it was an addicting experience, foot long aka blunt was definitely worth 8.99 + tax. Add a friendly & helpful staff plus a clean restaurant with a laid back vibe and you have a 5 star review!

  • Rene R.

Great subs, better service. This is the best Chēba Hut I've been to. I've waited waited over 20 minutes and had my sub handled by over 10 people at another location. Whomever you the manager is at this location should train some of the other store employees.

  • Brad M.

I walked in the for the first time and they said I get a free "munchie", very nice! I ordered the white widow sandwich and it was perfect. The garlic/herb toasted bread was toasted just right and flavorful. The toppings were crisp and tasty. I highly recommend eating here!

  • Amanda A.

SO great!! My friend took me here on our small trip to flagstaff, and let me say, I'm so glad she did. She already told me about the kind of place I was so I was pretty curious to see what it was all about. We went in for lunch and the guy who was at the front helped us out tremendously (didn't catch his name)!! We let him know it was my first time and he gave me a complimentary "munchie" basically a ball of rice crispy goodness. I couldn't decide on what sandwich I wanted but then I saw a French dip style called the AK-47. Now all the sandwiches and goodies are named after weed related products, unique right! I chose mine and got it on garlic herb bread (recommendation from staff) AMAZING! My friend got the white widow which was a chicken sandwich. You get to choose the size of the sandwich as well and the choices are a nugg (4") pinner (8") and a blunt (12") I got the pinner and that was still a lot.. (Leftovers for the road trip home) The atmosphere was so chill and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. So sad we don't have one of these in Vegas, it would make a killing! Can't wait to come back

Yummy yummy yummy!! Sandwiches are soooo tasty! Bread is fresh and toasty.... And we played some foosball afterwards. Really cool place to hangout.

What a shame about this joint... Very weak sandwichs for the price! My sandwich had 4 slices of roast beef.

    (2)
  • Matt R.

This non sustainable business will leave lying garbage on your door. They leave coupons that offer a "free munchie" with order. Go to the website and they have salads under "munchies" - yet the guy who kept rudely and patronizingly calling me "brother" said that a salad was not a "munchie." I will not patronize this business and hope they quit leaving their crap on my door.

  • Erin B.

Just tried if for the first time and it was pretty good. I was headed to Quiznos and this place caught my eye. The interior is a bit strange, I think it's hilarious they think it's Jamaican style (visit Jamaica and see the real deal). The guy who took my order was patient and answered my questions and it only took 10 min for the order to be made. The sandwich was great but slightly soggy by the time I got home. The garlic bread was not edible because of the way they wrapped it. The paper wrapping was stuck to the cheese and bread. Overall I would recommend this place!

    (4)
  • Delilah C.

Great place to hangout and the people that work there are so nice. The food is great and there is so much variety its hard to choose what to get. The bread...oh the bread. It's amazing. And I mean cmon who doesn't love a good sandwich with a great loaf of bread. I recommend to everyone!

    (5)
  • Adam F.

This place is pretty popular I'm surprised I'm the first one to review... I really do appreciate their food. I was surprised to see how much time they put into their sandwiches. Their bread is pretty good and their roast beef was delicious. The employees were very easy to talk to and acted like they wanted to be there. The reason this place doesn't get any higher stars is because they go out-of-there-way to cater to certain clientele. Marketing wise, this is not a good idea. I am a part of the customers who would not feel "at home" eating here. I knew I could smell something that I did not want to smell.

    (3)
  • Nathan H.

I thought their sandwiches were delicious, the decor was entertaining, and the staff was very friendly, helpful, and hardworking. The sandwich selection was very wide and versatile. 3 size options and some original pre-designed choices. The guy who made my sandwich did a great job of letting me customize it while carefully constructing it perfectly. He didnt make me feel rushed, and it stayed all together during eating. The decor was pretty stereo typical, borderline trite. However I am the target demographic so i found it all delightful. The picture of Ice T pasted on the iced tea dispenser is possibly the funniest thing ive ever seen. At no point did any employee fulfill associated stereotypes. Even though they were very busy, they gave everyone attentive service with correct orders in timely manners. I suppose the novelty of this place could wear out for me if I lived near it, but for a sandwich passing through the area, this place was delightful.

This has been my 4th and final attempt at giving these people a chance to make the Cheba Hut name proud. I have been a great customer to this company in Phoenix and when they finally opened in flagstaff I was so excited. First time was okay, took a while but it was good. Second time slower, the kid behind the counter didn't listen to me at all and by the time I got home with my sub to go there was nothing but mustard, banana peppers, and lettuce on it... Third time was for a Keep Flag Happy promo where we were given 1 tray of quarters of subs for 20 people... This time was the final straw as my boyfriend and I ordered for delivery, 2 subs, that's it. They said 30-45 minutes. After an hour we called to check in and were told our order was "walking out the door". 20 minutes later, still no sandwiches, we call again to ask about our status. The manager is put on the phone and informs us that he will CANCEL our order and to have a good night... Worst customer service EVER! I am a patient person but come on!

  • Ambrose B.

This by far the better sandwiches place in flagstaff. It is our family first time here and the energy is positive. The employees are outgoing and set the tone the first time experience. The entire time we were listening to disney music and it was awesome. There is a variety of sandwiches to be had for everyone in the family. There are sandwiches for vegetarians too! The prices are decent and not expensive at all! I recommend this place and I will be coming back!

Pineapple express (yerba matte and pineapple juice) tea is awesome. I love the Humboldt and there brownies are crazy dank. Way better than jimmy John's and just a block or two away. They deliver too!

  • Luc T.

This place is absolute shit just tried placing an order for delivery at 8:55pm and they are open until 10pm and they said they're not delivering right now. Terrible customer service

  • Annisa E.

Okay, this place was definitely a fun place to go to! It's not just the sandwiches that were great but also the process of ordering your own sandwich! I was just wowed when I saw that we got to choose between..what was it, a nug (4inch) sandwich with some names related to weed or hash, but there's none of that here! It's so much fun and the interior really mirrors the name of the place. The sandwiches were fine, and there was a great variation to choose from.

    (4)
  • Robert L.

nicest staff on the planet. I was on a road trip, stopped in, THEY GAVE ME DOLLAR BEERS!!!! The sandwiches were amazing also! Awesome atmosphere too, can't beat reggae music and hemp beer

  • Brittany J.

If seeing a couple of posters displaying cannabis plants offends you, then skip out on coming to this place. The sandwiches are very tasty, the staff is friendly, and the ambiance is casual and comfortable. I had the pizza sandwich, and it was much better than other baked sandwiches I have had at a casual restaurant.

  • A. J.

There were 3people in our group and it nearly came to blows as we argued about who had the best sandwich. Everything was great. The place was a bit loud...but I nitpick. Really good food, nice staff, fair prices. Will definitely return. Word of caution...when the say spicy they mean it, so take that into account if you are not into hot stuff.

Kind of hipster atmosphere. Great sandwich, a worthy stop and easy access from the freeways.

The Short: A family friendly sub shop packed with more marijuana references than a Cheech and Chong film. The Pros: - Fresh cooked subs and munchies. - The brownies, oh my God, the brownies, my God, brownies. - Super friendly service. Warmest smiles in town. - Fast food that doesn't taste processed. The Cons: - Lack of chip selection. - Can be expensive. - The sub names, while comical, don't really help you know what you're ordering. Best Item(s): - La Canna (an Italian sub). - Thai Stick (teriyaki chicken). - BROWNIES!!!! ____________________________________________________ The Story: For the longest time I had no idea what Cheba Hut sold. In fact, the first time I went there was to buy a gyro. My assumption was that they were a local version of Pita Pit. You know what happens when you make an assumption, right? You make an a** out of Umption, the really upbeat kid from Africa that spends his weekends helping old people with their daily chores. Great kid, and you're a jerk for doing that. I have never been so happy to be wrong. Each sub is perfectly toasted and loaded with crisp veggies chopped that morning. While the meats aren't anything special, they still pack a punch when stuffed inside Cheba Hut's trademark starchy-sweet bread. Sweets, like brownies, are cooked fresh every night with grocery store ingredients. The real triumph here though is the staff. I have never had such friendly and diligent service in Flagstaff. The employees always have a smiles on their faces and often exuberant attitudes. Just as impressive, they're able to joke back and forth between customers and fellow staff members while still doing a great job cooking each uniquely ordered sub. Not once has my order been wrong. As past reviews have mentioned, this place isn't for you if you're uptight about drug references or easy-going corporate structures. If not, relax, tell a joke or two, sit down, and eat a d*mn good sub. Also, stop making fun of Umption.

I stopped by this place for lunch on a road trip. The staff was super friendly, the music and vibe was great. Great tasting good and brownies. For a medium sub, drink and peanut butter brownie it was $11. This place blows Quiznos, subway, and whatever other generic sub shops out of the water.

This place was so slow to get our food. We ordered 1 sandwich and a salad and it took 45minites to get our food. We thought this would be a quick stop in a good place but instead was so slow that we could have went to a restaurant. Let's not mention the amount of flies that were in this place.

From the Decor to the extreamly great menu and extras you will not be disapointed. Its a fun fresh idea and the staf there make every luch I get there fun and enjoyable. They deliver if your on the job, they have a cool little bar with very interesting IPA and laggers to choose from. So long as I work in Flagstaff Ill be a loyal customer
