During my first trip to Flagstaff last month, my family and I stayed one night in a delightful A-frame cabin. We especially liked the wood stove and the fully-outfitted kitchen. The kids loved the "vintage" (their term) playground, complete with swings, slide, and merry-go-round. The location was tranquil and quiet. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. I slept on the couch and found it surprisingly comfortable.

These cabins are absolutely adorable! Im so glad I found them... My boyfriend and I decided to take a little relaxing 3 day trip to Flagstaff after we drove through Arizona and loved it.... we drove about 8 hours from LA with our dog in tow, and we seriously loved these little cabins. We stayed in cabin #7 because of the mountain view ( its a small view of the peak but seriously worth it) and it had everything we could possibly need ( plenty of towels, plates, pots, pans, microwave, toaster..etc.) The cabin was super cozy and clean. Worth a visit if you're in the area! The cons; Throwing out the trash ( I read people complaining in the reviews about this and thought its really not that bad... but it kinda sucks) They ask you to leave the cabins in the same state you found them in.. so I spent the day we were leaving picking up, folding all the towels we used, folding all the bedsheets and then putting the trash into my car to take to the dumpster and I wondered why its so hard for the cleaning people to just throw it out since they go around in a truck to each of the cabins?? Also, the carpet was really dirty, to the point that we washed everything that we brought back with us immediately because both my bf and myself were getting rashes in our arms. :(

This place is grate, We didn't have a tv in our cabin which left me feeling a little distraught for a sec.but I quickly realized that not having a tv is part of the cabin experience . We played scrabble and went for nature walks. I made fires while my wife cooked up dinner... We had a fantastic time and I would recommend it to anyone.

Came up for the weekend for a family trip. One of the perks that lead us here was being able to bring our dogs. A true family friendly environment :) The cabin is nice and cozy. The fire wood burning stove was a hit for the kids. Fully furnished with a cute kitchen. Staff was helpful and friendly. We are already planing on coming back.

If you want to escape the summer heat of Phoenix, go north and stay here! Wonderful place that is in the perfect location. Tucked away in the forest, but close to downtown Flagstaff. Surrounded by hiking, nature and bliss. The staff is so nice and friendly. We went during the week and it was wonderfully quiet and stayed in one of their newly remodeled cabins. Nice and cozy wood burning stove and they will sell a large bag of wood for you to use--be sure and pay for their bag of wood, as you get a lot more than if you ran to a shop in town. We will make this our go-to place for summer escape. Thanks to the wonderful staff! Cheers!

Amazing. My boyfriend and I needed a stress-free weekend away from the city and this place hit the spot. They are located in Flag., only minutes from the I-17 and downtown, but it feels like you're an hour outside of town. There is no road noise or noise from the city at all. You turn down a dirt road from the main road and before you know it you're in the woods. Then once you do make it to the campsite, you're greeted by a very friendly staff. They even had wine glasses and sparkling cider waiting for us in the cabin, because I told them it was my boyfriend's birthday. As for the cabin, it was the perfect size for the two of us and with the wood burning stove it was very cozy. Without a doubt we will be coming back.

I brought my dad to Arizona Mountain Inn for his 67th birthday. We fell in love the with place. Let me start by saying that the staff is very courteous, considerate, and accommodating. I had planned to sleep on the sofa in cabin 19 and my father in the loft, however upon arriving we realized a ladder and a bladder with 67 years worth of mileage wasn't so great. The receptionist provided 3 other cabin options without raising the previous cost, and we managed to find a suitable alternative. That brings about cabin 7. Wonderful location, pet friendly, a queen size bed downstairs, and a stair accessible loft with 2 twin mattresses. This cabin and my family were destined. We received a bottle of apple cider for my dad's birthday and a free bundle of wood for our fire place. A 3 minute drive to Walmart, 6 minute drive to Sam's Club and several restaurants nearby made this cabin THE place to stay. I will be returning. I did have to deduct a star due to the cabinet (above and to the right) of the fridge. Throughout our 3 day stay at cabin 7, I must've hit the back of my head about 27 times on that darn cabinet. Give this place a try. The rates are lower at various times throughout the year, and the experience is well worth it!

This place is wonderful, it was just what I was looking for to escape the Phoenix heat. I was doing a bed and breakfast stay then got offered a personal cabin for an extra $30. I am so glad I chose the cabin because it was perfect! The cabin has a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 6 beds and it's 2 stories. This place is half a mile hidden in the woods from the main road. Walmart and bashes grocery store is 3-5 minutes away so we went shopping and cooked dinner. I love this place and this place will now be a must stop in my family from now on.

Cute little cabins, conveniently close to town and everything you could want to do in Flagstaff, but set far enough from the road that you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Cabins had pretty much everything you could need- from utencils to towels to extra pillows we got from the office. This would be a fun place for a family reunion with the volleyball courts, horseshoe area, etc. Decor is dated, but who wants a modern cabin? I am only giving them 4 stars for a couple reasons. On their website Cabin 19 is described as small with just a loft queen bed and a full bathroom. Um...a full bathroom in my mind involves a door. That was an awkward surprise that there was just a curtain. The other disappointment was that they expected you to take your own trash out? Prices are comparable to hotels in the area and I can't imagine a hotel asking you to take your trash to the dumpster? Not a big deal, just odd.

We have been going to the Arizona Mountain Inn for the past 5 years. We will be going up again Dec 20, 2014 for our 5th time. You could not ask for nicer folks. When we go up I am usually sending so many emails asking question if something could be done to make our stay a little easier. Mary Bostwick is so fast in getting back to me. She has gone as far as doing a snow dance for our December stay. It is one of our favorite places to stay. Thank you all, and thank you Mary for everything.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the customer service is on point.. these cabins are so cozy we have gone with family a few times and love it. Its perfect when u just want to get away and not drive all ur weekend away since ur only min away from the down town and all the shopping and restraints are right there. Recommend buying there wood for the fire place since its ready when u walk in so nice. They do have wifi but the cabin at the bottom sometimes do not work well but the ones on top closer to the main office the wifi works great! Love wifi in a cabin

Love Arizona Mountain Inn! It's an in-the-woods getaway that is still close enough to town that you can have the best of both if you want. The boyfriend and I have stayed here three times and had a great time each visit. On our most recent visit we stayed in cabin 5 - the honeymoon cabin. We weren't honeymooning but it's the only cabin with a king sized bed and boyfriend is 6' 4". The cabin was bigger than it looked in the pictures which was a nice surprise. All the cabins are different. Some are little a-frames, some have multiple rooms, etc. The cabin was very clean and cozy. It had a full kitchen and a little living room area with a wood-burning fireplace. No TV but that's good when you want a wilderness getaway IMO. One weird thing is that they make you take your garbage out when you leave. I can see washing your own dishes but dumping your own trash? Okay, I guess? The grounds are well kept and big. There is a big hill by the main house that is great for sledding. And not just for little kids, we've enjoyed sledding there very much. The staff has always been friendly to us as well. The only downside would be that they often enforce minimum night stays. Often 3 nights. If you just want to come for the weekend, 3 nights is just too many. I can see a 2-night minimum during busy times but 3? Come on. So try to plan your trip during off times unless you want to stay a long time.

My mom met the owners through Jazzercise and knew that they had this place for some time before we ever stayed here. Last weekend she reserved a cabin for my stepdad's birthday and invited us to stay with them. The cabins are super cute and very well taken care of. When we arrived there was a bundle of firewood for us and some extra goodies on the counter - not sure if that is due to my mom mentioning it was for a birthday stay or if those things come standard, but it was very much appreciated! Our cabin had a loft with a double bed and a twin bed, 2 rooms with double beds connected to a jack and jill bathroom and a front room area with a little wood burning stove and some seats to sit with your family and watch the fire. The outside had a bbq and a picnic table but we decided to go out for dinner instead. We had a great time and a very comfortable stay! We will stay here again for sure!

Had yet another wonderful stay! ( not that I was worried) We came up for my boyfriends birthday & stayed in cabin 19. How cute is this newly remodeled cabin! Loved the loft sleeping area w/ Little ladder to climb up, felt like little kids again! ( if you have small toddlers ,five children, or frequent bathroom trips.. NOT the cabin for you lol ) this was the perfect cabin for us & plan on booking it again next time! Also recommend, cabin 13 - heated slate flooring, & The Honeymoon Cabin 5 -the Jacuzzi tub! We were running a little late in town and needed some extra firewood, the receptionist was kind enough to drop some off for us, they have the best firewood In town for the best price. Service top notch, cabins clean and comfortable, my only complaint is that we have to take our trash out to the dumpster before we leave.. It's not that we are lazy, but both times the trash as leaked in my tiny car. Overall love it here and we look forward to our next visit.

My family and I went on our first family trip in over a decade this past weekend. Instead of staying at a hotel, we decided to stay in cabins. We are not an outdoor family, so we took a leap of faith. Lets just say that Arizona Mountain Inn and Cabins exceeded our expectations! The staff was friendly and the cabins were extremely clean. Sadly, cleaner than my house! Typically it is a three day minimum stay. However, because we were short on time, they allowed us to stay for one night. This demonstrates that they care about family and not just making a couple of bucks. This was a special weekend for us. Thanks Mountain Inn for making it happen. You will definitely be seeing us next year!

I like roughing it in cabins. I was also looking for a pet-friendly place that was near Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Flagstaff fits the bill because it's right in the middle of both places and there are plenty of restaurants and stores there. After a search online to find a cabin around Flagstaff, I found the Arizona Mountain Inn. It fit the bill perfectly. They have about 17 cabins in various sizes to choose from and are nestled in the woods just outside of Flagstaff. You get the feeling that you are far from civilization, even though it's just a 5-10 minute drive to Flagstaff. The cabins are rustic with a full kitchen, minus a microwave in the cabin I had (I'm roughing it, remember). Don't expect the beds and sheets to be from a 4-star hotel either, they are perfectly clean, just not the highest quality. The cabins also have a small BBQ that you can grill on and I put it to good use. There are a couple of small trails around the cabins you can hike and walk your dog on, but nothing epic. Just a nice stroll through the pine and aspen trees. All in all, I enjoyed my stay there and would have no qualms about recommending the Arizona Mountain Inn.

What a terrific getaway. This place is incredible. Close to everything but the grounds are like you are in the middle of the forest. Camping is fun but I much prefer the comfort and privacy of these cabins. It was the best of both. The kids loved it, lots to do and we didn't have to worry about their safety. But they still had their own adventures! The cabins were clean and had everything we needed. Didn't have to pack up the entire kitchen and take it with us. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Anything we needed, they had. We will definitely come back. Much better than a hotel or camping!

These cabins are great! Despite being a bit out dated, they are comfy and clean. The loft in #7 is great for kids. Great location; peaceful and quiet. The shower was a bit cramped and awkward, but otherwise an excellent experience. This is a great alternative to the typical "hotel room" stay.

I stayed here with my family for a one night, somewhat impromptu trip to Flagstaff. We usually go camping when we go to Flag, but our youngest daughter is currently crawling so we were forced to seek out baby-friendly shelter for this trip. It's not at all far from downtown- maybe a ten minute drive. We were told check-in was at 3, but arrived around 11:30, with our picnic lunch packed and our hiking clothes on, ready to take on whatever trails we could find after a quick bite. We checked in at the office and left my cell phone number to have them call me when the cabin was ready. We had barely even started our lunch when one of the maintenance guys pulled up in his truck and told us our cabin was ready! This worked out really well since the little one was in major need of a nap. The inside of the cabin was super clean! Most other cabins I've stayed in have some spider webs here and there, or bathrooms that I won't use without wearing shoes, but our cabin was spotless. It was "teeny tiny" according to my step daughter; in my opinion it was the perfect size for us. One bedroom with enough room to set up the pack-and-play and a loft area with two twin beds, where my stepdaughter slept. The grounds of the property were also very nice. The gazebo where we sat to eat our picnic lunch was right next to the playground that my stepdaughter hurried to after her lunch. It had a merry go round, swing set, and slide, and kept her entertained during a good part of our "down time." The view from the front porch of our cabin was incredible. We had a gorgeous, unobstructed view of the San Francisco peaks. When we asked them what they would recommend doing for the afternoon, they copied maps to hiking trails and we decided to follow their advice and check out the lava tube just past snow bowl. They even loaned us flashlights to take into the cave. My one gripe is that the location of the property is pretty close to the airport and we would occasionally hear a plane taking off or landing, which could get pretty loud. It only happened a few times though, and it would hardly deter me from staying here again. We'll be back in the winter to play in the snow!

So what if the cabins are a bit rustic, and the bed and breakfast looks like something your grandmother furnished. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, the staff warm and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. It feels like the middle of nowhere, even though it's only a mile or two from downtown Flagstaff.

We used these mountain cabins to host our Family Reunion. We had 33 people in all. For a function of this size this is a great place. We used the "Hogan" cabin as our main gathering spot. Privacy is in short supply. There are many beds but most are not in private rooms. There are community sleeping lofts which make sense for rambunctious reunions where people aren't doing much sleeping anyway. My elderly aunts did wish there were sidewalks instead of gravel roads and the stairs to the lofts were incredibly steep. Another downside is that you cannot check in until after 3:00 PM. However, my family was very impressed with the facilities and stated that it was the best reunion we've had in a while (we've had them every year for 30 years so that is saying quite a bit).
