Breakfast is da bomb at this restaurant. That may be a totally out dated statement but i had a great meal. I had the reindeer sausage skillet w a side of pancakes. and my friend had the reindeer omelette w a side of biscuits and gravy. A couple of quotes from the meal. "The portions here are huge" "This reindeer sausage has a great smokey flavor"

Food sucked! I mean chips were soggy! I did not know if I was eating a Philly cheese steak sandwich or a French dip. Bread was crumbly as if made last week!

This used to be okay. Not anymore quality sucks. They also nickel and dime you to poverty. (Super small salsa 1.00, fruit instead of mushy raw hash browns or over cooked from a bag home fries is also a dollar. Burnt toast blah. If I was you I would go elsewhere.

This used to be one of our families favorite places to eat. But lately it's gone way down hill. Dirty dishes set at the table, tables not being cleaned before seating people. The last time we went I had a hair in my eggs! Gross!! I think we'll start looking around for a better spot.

I would consider this place more of a diner, with diner food. The menu is fairly large though and the fish and chips are some of the most tasty I have ever had, but it's still diner food with some hits and misses. I guess it's who you have as cook that day because I've ordered the smothered liver and onions several times and sometimes it's perfect, other times it's burnt. The same can be said of their chicken fried steak. If you're expecting Grape Tap quality of food at diner prices, you're in the wrong place. But for diner prices and diner food, it's alright and a good place to go to get a cheap filling meal. I've never had problems with the wait staff, they've always been nice to us. I can see where they can get disgruntled because I happened to see our servers other tickets and saw where she was getting a consistent 10% or less on her tips and she definitely didn't deserve that. Valley people can be so cheap sometimes.

Stopped for breakfast on the way back from Big Lake. Diner fare par excellence. Alaskana chic, counter table & booths. Hash is made on the premises, not from a can. Good breakfast choices. Did I say reindeer sausage. Yum! Good portions, reasonable prices. Attentive staff. Clean & tidy. Can't ask for more.

One of our favorite places to eat in Wasilla. Classic diner food. I almost always go with a breakfast dish. The wife loves their skillets. Service is always quick and prices are good. Plenty parking.

My buddies and I ate at Mat-Su Family four times during our week long Salmon fishing trip and were never disappointed. We tried several other diners and this one was by far the best. Great breakfasts and hearty dinners for reasonable prices for Alaska. Our favorite server, Jolene, was very helpful and made us feel at home. The Eggs Benedict and Reindeer Sausage omelets were both excellent. The Salmon, Halibut and Fried Chicken dinners are all recommended.

Fantastic service, huge portions, and very reasonable prices. I had the eggs Benedict (for dinner, btw) which was amazing and HUGE (three eggs) plus came with potato choice. My boyfriend had something with eggs, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy and he loved it. Most restaurant home fries suck but these potatoes were seasoned kinda like curly fries and super good! Delish McGish.

This is strictly diner fare, don't come here and order something fancy. Stick to breakfast items and burgers and you will not be disappointed. The service is friendly. The price is right.

I frequent the matsu regularly for breakfast. Always great service and good food. The coffee is always hot and they keep it full. Can't speak for the other meals, but breakfast is always good!

This diner has always shared a soft spot in heart. It reminds me of the times my dad would take out to eat at a small town diner when I was a kid. This is no 5 star restaurant but the food and atmosphere are great. Most menu items are under $10 so it won't break your wallet. The staff are very friendly and always there to refill your coffee cup. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner when I'm looking for food I usually end up here.

Good Diner for breakfast & lunch! Simple, efficient service and a favorite of mine for skillets or eggs Benedict in the morning or afternoon!

Ohhhh.... The added a Llc to the name.... It's still great service and garbage food! I really wish the food quality was at least half as good as the service. Maybe the waitresses should cook and the cooks should wash dishes... Cause they obviously don't care. I've given them more chances than they deserve..... I'm done.

This is my first time here in about ten years. The menu had changed a bit, my favorite dinner is gone. I had eggs Benedict for the first time in my life and now i am hooked! The hollandaise is great and the hash browns were perfect. I thought kids menu is a little pricy, but the burger was adult size. Service was fast and very nice.

Menu changed since the last time I was here. Selections were not to my liking but I did find a gyro and that hit the spot. There was only one waitress and one busboy on staff that night and she was slammed, even with two sections closed down (probably about 10 tables open). She did her best, but she had a hard time keeping up. The waitress did refill our drinks a couple of times and check on us, but she was so hurried she kept forgetting my dressing for my salad and I gave up and ate it without. The food wasn't grand, although my husband's skillet was "better than Village Inn", in his words. The salads are still a watery mess and small for the price, but the tzaziki was passable and the portion was just right with double meat. They need to put a cheesy noodle dish like fetuccini back on the menu and I told them so. Someone nearby had some sort of deep fried appetizer that looked awesome. It might have been a sampler platter or maybe potato skins, not sure, but it looked crisp and yummy. Also, no chocolate cake!!!! I wanted chocolate cake but all the chocolate they had was chocolate cream pie. I don't like baked pie crusts on those sorts of pies so I passed. Also, didn't see a decent lemon pie or I might have opted for that... on a graham cracker crust, though.

In the past this place has had very good food and great service. But lately it has been going down hill and tonight it hit ROCK BOTTOM. I ordered one of the specials, Seafood Alfredo. I took the first bite and spit it out, it was terrible. I complained to the waitress who decided to argue with me about it. I had her take it away and did not bother to order anything else. My wife had the 4 piece fried chicken which was overdone but at least edible. My son had a steak that was so tuff he could not cut it with the steak knife they gave him. We tried to complain at the check out but evidently she did not speak much English. A busboy came over to help and he was rude and did not care if we were upset or not. What used to be a treat for us turned sour and we will not be going back. Try it for your self if you want and I hope you are treated better but if your not........I told you so.

My family convinced me to go to this place after the new owners took over and I did. I was astonished it was clean vibrant, good service and amazing food. I went a few more times with friends the wife and the folks. The last 2 times i have been there though the food has been poorly cooked. Raw chicken, cooked spoiled meat and that was the last straw I won't go back again after being served spoiled beef. I took one bite and instantly reminded me when i was young and cooked up some old beef out of the fridge.

I've been here three times now for the chicken fried steak and eggs. Everytime I've been seated immediately and offered coffee as soon as I get to my table. Service is prompt and friendly and the food comes out fresh and hot. My hashbrowns always come out "extra crispy" as ordered, which is what sold me on this place. The waitresses I've had have all been pros and are always on top of the coffee refills.

This place has great, home cooked, food. We have gone here many times and have also had take-out from here. The breakfasts are awesome. Just like most places in the far north, there is too much food but you eat it all because it is so good. The corned beef and cabbage is some of the best I have ever tasted. Lamb chops are cooked perfectly. Burgers are great. Check it out.
