This place is amazing. Seeming authentic and very tasty falafel. I had the sandwich and they load it quite nicely with all ingredients you want and sufficient 6 falafel balls. Hot sauce is a bit "hot". So be careful with it if its your first time. I'll be going there frequently since it's awesome and so close by.

It is a small world when it comes to falafel in Newtown. Choices are limited to the part time place in the Newtown Farmers' Market, and this new house on State Street in Newtown Borough. WoF is new and it appears they are still on their shakedown cruise. While the signature offering is quite good, the overall gestalt is one of disorganization and lack of attention to detail. The menu on the wall over the register/order area is limited to a few dishes, with the only real variety coming from the sides offered along with a falafel or eggplant pita or platter. My styro plate was full of Israeli Salad, Hummus and BabaG, and the sandwich stuffed with Cukes, Tachini Sauce, and more Hummus. Everything was fresh, but despite being put through a toaster belt, the pita remained room temp and lacked the complementary texture and taste of one heated first on the grill. Therein lies part of the problem, in that there is no grill back there for that purpose. The staff is young and earnest, but seem to lack restaurant experience. Management didn't notice that the trash receptacles were full and needed attention. World of Falafel has an opportunity to be a successful Middle Eastern Café if a few small steps are taken to bring up quality control. Too, good coffee options would add to the ambiance and reason for people to come in to this attractive little shop and sample the wares.

First time visitor to the restaurant Falafal balls were extremely tasty Has room to grow. Needs to warmup the pitas as they are thick and have a little untoasted English muffin taste but would be excellent if heated up I know the restaurant is new and the staff will get more experienced Will 100% be back always looking for a good Falafal outside of Famous Pita in Brooklyn.

This place has exactly three items on the menu: pita with salad and falafel balls, pita with salad and eggplant slices, or pita with salad. There is nothing else. Not a fruit, not a chip, not a baklava, or a cookie, or anything else. They do have fake baba ghanouj from the grocery store made with MAYONNAISE - if that gives you any idea about what to expect here. They have a great location so I hope they grow and improve soon!

I got a half falafel sandwich. You build your pita with veggies, hummus, ect whatever u want, and then they put 3 lil falafel balls on top. The girl there was very friendly. It was very tasty sandwich, the pita bread was pillowy.. But I agree with other reviews it will taste even better with the choice of heating the pita up just a lil. I was disappointed in the size of the 3 lil falafel balls in there, I think if they are going to be tiny u can fit 4 or 5 in there. They were very good. I would suggest a platter that let's you sample everything in one big platter and bigger portions like they do at other falafel places in town. I would go back again it was not bad.

Food is good but staff and some patrons who know the owner ruins the atmosphere. Friends of the owner were screaming making it unpleasant. Staff knew what they were doing.... This place is just fair

I had high hopes, but I didn't love it. The food was okay, but the atmosphere was weird, no real theme. Our kids were unsure of items and the staff behind the counter watched us try to answer their questions without helping us out which felt weird. Staff walking around on their cell phone didn't say anything to us until we were walking out the door.

Just went to the place. Actually think it is under-rated - the eggplant falafel I had was very delicious!

Overall not a keeper! First the good, it is a very clean restaurant with very good falafel. Definitely amateurish in the execution. Hard to understand the options available. Baba ganoush too thin & no char taste. Thought the hummus was ok but not great. The tahini was watery & didn't care for the tzatziki either. How can you serve the pita cold? No whole wheat or gluten free bread offered. Menu is quite limited. No salad bowls, fattoush, etc. Not a place that I will frequent, which is too bad because I love Israeli & mid-eastern cuisine.

First time to the restaurant and the food was on point. I had the falafel sandwich and asked the chef to make it as he would eat it. I've eaten at several Middle Eastern style restaurants in and around Philadelphia and this did not disappoint. The price was spot on as well. Great place for lunch. I will definitely be back.

I really wanted to like this new restaurant in Newtown. The falafel is ok, the pita is gummy and chewy- they should warm it up! They spooned the hummus out of a Sabra container (even though the young woman that took my order told me it was homemade), so if you like Sabra, you'll like the hummus :) The service is very poor- they seem disorganized and incompetent. There were 4 people behind the counter but only one of them was taking care of customers. Hopefully they'll get their act together, but I won't be returning any time soon- just not good enough. Too bad!

I so much wanted this place to be good, but it fails on many levels. The first time we visited, the restaurant was nearly empty except for one couple in front of us as we ordered. There were three teenage girls working the restaurant with no adult supervision. We watched one of the girls making the sandwiches go through 3 pitas before she successfully opened one to fill it. When we placed our order, we were told the falafels were being made and it would be ten minutes until they were ready. Ten minutes seemed reasonable, but when they said being made, they meant from scratch. It took 45 minutes until they called our number to make our order. How can a falafel restaurant not have falafels already made up and ready to fry or serve? The sandwich was decent, but the pita bread was less than desirable. We actually gave this place a second chance, and the results weren't much better. We waited about 35 minutes for our number to be called, only to find out they were out of tzatziki and were too busy to make more. Once again, the same dreadful pita, which was nothing but a soggy mess as you ate your way down. The restaurant tries to be fast casual, but it is more like slow frenzy. They have a pickle/olive bar with nothing to serve them in and they can't serve ice water (no ice). If you want a cup of water, you have to get it from the sink where kids are washing their hands. Sounds appetizing...

Good falafel, as the falafel balls were reminiscent of those I had in Israel. I think people would be more satisfied if the shop could make both the pita and fries in house. A warm, fresh pita combined with handcut fries (hard to find in the area) would complete the package and make World of Falafel more of a destination.

This place is new so hopefully they'll get their act together. The falafel platter had falafel and veggies of your choice. Not a premade salad. No sauce. Weird. No pita. Takeout was on a paper plate...not very secure. I won't be back unless I'm eating there.

It is hard to find a good fresh falafel. It is usually hit or miss. When it is hit... it is a great feeling with the food. I went there today for lunch and they were all very friendly. I got to sample the falafel ball before ordering which was nice because I didn't know if I wanted the falafel or eggplant sandwich. It was delicious and they had great toppings. I met with the owner Ed who was very nice. We got to talking too. The place has only been around for two months so as his business grows he keeps adding more stuff. I saw some reviews on the place that were closer to when it opened. I think they are getting more organized and the food was delicious, and I know that the food is good for my soul too because it is Kosher. So, win win... I recommend you try it. I am still waiting to try the egg plant. Next time I will. Still some room for improvement, but I'm sure he will get there.

It's the amateur hour at this place -- very disorganized. They are open until 10 PM; I arrived at 7:30 PM. The salad containers behind the counter were all nearly empty or empty. I had to wait about 10 minutes for a new batch of falafel balls. The person preparing the falafels could not open a pita. He was discarding them one after another. He finally got one to open. When I was selecting the salads for my falafel from the meager choices, he told me to hurry up because he was busy. I looked around and I was the only one at the counter. The falafel was cold with the falafel balls barely warm. Did I mention that they charge $7 for this treat? The going price for falafel these days is about $5. Worst of all, they were out of the hot sauce -- could not get it all week, I was told. I know falafel as I grew up on it, so I don't think I'll be back.
