Greatest bread. The pumpkin braked and monkey bread were so incredibly good! They are now permanently closed and so sorry to see that.

Mmmm, fresh bread made daily. Yep, Yelp helped me here. Was looking for a healthy, hearty lunch, bam! Great Harvest it is! Stopped in here on a road trip for a good sammie. Went with the BLT on honey whole wheat and it was perfection. I didn't want a ton of bread (which sucks because the bread is soooo good) so I took the halves and made a whole. Crisp bacon, fresh tomato and leafy lettuce. It was the perfect afternoon lunch. It's a very small location in a strip mall so not a ton of room for groups.

Great Harvest Bread Company sits in the same large Village of Newtown Shopping Center where McCaffery's now is. On impulse I went in this morning to see what was available for breakfast. The friendly assistant bakery/counter person told me the muffins were still in the oven, but they had very fresh Blueberry Cream Cheese Scones available. She pointed to them and allowed me to come around the counter to have a closer look (and take a photo). I don't know much about scones, except for eating them a few years ago when in England. I remembered a hard, cookie-like outside and a textured chew. These were quite different. They were the shape of scones, and soft through and through. No crunch. Much like a muffin in the shape of a scone. I liked it, the same as I would have enjoyed the muffin. Perhaps they were less sweet than their cousins. The loaves of bread were tempting, and I will try some of them over time. The coffee was good, the beans roasted locally. Their wall menu suggests that their sandwiches are worth trying, as does the video attached to this Yelp listing. I look forward to future visits and sampling more of what appears to be high end healthy bread and all things that can be created out of it. Very happy to have them in Newtown.

This place smells and tastes like 5 stars every single day. Love their turkey Cobb sandwich. I go gaga over their monkey bread. Just about everything is good here. Honest. Check it out.

Yes Yes Yes This shop is great for Newtown. Just don't go hungry or just the delicious smell when you walk in will having you walking out with many more bags than you planned on. Two thumbs up!!!

Just bought some granola at the golden nugget antique market! Bag is almost gone already. SO GOOD! Nomnomnom. You have to try this stuff.

The bread, as the name sake indicates, is out of this world. It's a semi-local business, as the only standard is the milling of the wheat. All of their breads are great and the desserts look great and all the sandwiches are reasonably priced. It's worth a little more to get a product like theirs.
