Chicken quesadilla ... Delicious. Read the reviews. Pulled up to what looks like a very small fast food. Food was excellent. Fresh and delicious.

Forget Chipotle, if you want an actual authentic Mexican meal come to Taco Maya! The staff is very friendly! The restaurant is very clean and aesthetically pleasing, and the food is insanely fresh. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Great Authentic Mexican food! Tons of options and it is the closest thing to a street tacos I can find in the area.

Taco Maya is one of our family favorites. The food is fantastic. The price is good. We visit on a regular basis and always look forward to our next visit. We find that even our picky children can select and enjoy a good meal at Taco Maya. The only thing that would be helpful to us is having someone who speaks good English in the order placement line. We are sometimes rushed to move through so that we don't hold people up, and have questions that can't be answered. As a result, we've ordered a few things that didn't connect with what we thought we were getting. It's worked out, though, because we love everything that we've ordered. Looking forward to another visit in the near future. Thankful for a great Mexican restaurant so close to home!

Excellent Mexican food. Their salsas are spot on ! Try habanero jalapeño salsa at ur own risk! It's delicious but hot !

I love this place. My co-workers and I go almost every friday for lunch. Even though the are very busy the wait is rarely ever more than a few minutes. Everything I've tried is great, but the chicken burrito is my fave.

This place far exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a place where I could grab a quick lunch and hope on my web meeting. Searched on yelp it had best recommendations in area. First thoughts: -I entered the establishment with ample parking (75%spots full on a Thursday at 2pm) -bathroom was clean! -Came in and was immediately greeted. The Purveyor of taco maya came up and asked if I wanted help (I was intently looking at the menu and needed it). He showed me a hand held menu, asked what meats I liked and gave me samples of each. -all the food was super fresh and tasted awesome Fantastic experience

Great service. Great food. What more can you ask for. The mini burrito was the perfect size, their regular burritos are wayyy to filling for me, even when I get it without any meat! Their tacos are loaded with deliciousness. The chipotle chicken is sooo good! Authentic Mexican food. A really nice change from chipotle.

I had a carne asada burrito and it was very good. The ingredients were very fresh. I especially liked hat the had cilantro as one of the toppings. This gave my burrito a good flavor. I had this to go and they included a bag of chips and salsa with my order. I will definitely come back to try more menu items.

  • Jack M.

Huge portions, fresh salsa. This place is great. I got the Chicken Al Pastor Burrito which comes with chips and access to their fresh salsa bar. Their salsas are superb. The burrito was very good. The chicken was tender and packed with flavor. The meal was extremely filling for $7.50. I strongly recommend stopping by this place if you're in the area. It's basically a fast food building converted into a more authentic version of Chipotle. I only give five stars if it's worth driving more than twenty minutes for. It's good, but it doesn't blow you away. Solid Mexican place with authentic flavor. I'd definitely come back if I was nearby, and you should too.

I took the owner's (Erick) advice and selected his favorite menu item during my most recent visit to Taco Maya. I went with the #3 Carne Azada Burrito. I must say this was a fine choice and if I get here again will stay on this path as opposed to the quesadilla (which I had during a prior visit). I also sampled all of the salsa options and came away thoroughly enjoying Taco Maya's Roasted Tomato version. I also gave the guacamole a second chance, unfortunately it still didn't do anything for me. I'll take their salsa over their guac. The pricing is very similar to that of Chipotle. That small side (4 oz) of guacamole is going to run you $2 w/o chips, and $3.50 w/ chips. The fountain drinks are one size (Coca Cola products) and are $2 a pop. The #3 burrito is a monster and will get you for almost $8, it does include chips. This place does some business during the lunch hour. The staff hustles and the manager is on the run back and forth cleaning tables and assisting with burrito construction. They use the Belly loyalty program but are too busy getting through a somewhat chaotic check-out process to allow you to comfortably explore or have them explain it to you. I have to wonder how many patrons rub their belly on the tablet at the register (instructions on the screen say "Tap to Belly"). Good luck Taco Maya!

Taco Maya is certainly a hidden gem in the Lionville area for Mexican. Blow Qdoba, and maybe Chipotle (I'm a huge Chipotle fan) outside of the water. All ingredients are fresh and burritos were excellent. For a new person coming in, the staff walked me through all their offerings. I got the El Pastore burrito, one of the best burritos I've had in the Chester County area. If you're looking for authentic Mexican in the Exton/Lionville area, I highly recommend Taco Maya. P.S. they give you chips and salsa on the side. I made the mistake of ordering them separate and got a TON of chips. Don't make the same mistake I did

This is an authentic chipotle. Lol they have fish here! I always get the bowl. I work about 2 min from here. Lots of working professionals at lunch and highschool kids. This area had grown so much. 4 years ago there was nothing here. I recommended this place for a quick take out as it does get full during lunch time.

    (5)
  • Missy L.

I had the chipotle chicken burrito, hubs had the el pastore burrito, both were huge and delicious. We also got the 4 taquito (chicken) plate and they were ok, the chicken was really dry inside. Other than the dry chicken in the taquitos, everything else was very fresh and flavorful! The staff is courteous and pleasant, we will definitely be back!

  • Mark W.

Awesome.Think Chipotle but more authentic choices, not corporate or hipsterish, and much cheaper!! Super Friendly service, Mexican decor, and fast!! Cannot wait to come back all the time!!

The gods have delivered Taco Maya to a little town in Pennsylvania. I'm from NYC and I can honestly say, that the city has nothing on this joint. Let me tell you about the tacos real quick because this (for me) is the selling point. To do so, I'm going to just rifle off a couple words: Fresh. Variety. Flavorful. Electrifying. Crunchy. Life changing. Perfect. Delish. Fresh. Outstanding. Mmmmmmmm. The salads though? On point. I buy it in a quart everytime I go and bring it back for me and my girl to snack on. It's a win/win. I loves the salsa and I score brownie points with the bae. If you're still thinking about going anywhere else for authentic Mexican food, think again. In case you missed it before, the food is VERY FRESH. The owner, Chewy (nickname that his friends use) showed me how he cooked up his fresh salsa, minutes before I drizzled it all over my 8 tacos. Just... Stop reading and go get yourself some tacos. (Drop the mic)

  • Bill S.

Excellent, fresh food. The burrito is a belly filler. Great value. Have been there twice and it will be a new regular stop for me. Will try more of their varieties on future visits.

  • Jerry M.

Outstanding service and very friendly employees. Best Mexican food in the Downingtown/Lionville/Exton area. Quite often we go there to eat or take out. Consistent quality. Guacamole is the best!

  • K H.

We love Taco Maya. This is a small local restaurant where you order at a counter for either takeout or to eat there at one of the 10-12 tables. The menu is quesadillas, burritos, tacos, taquitos, and taco salads with the customer's choice of several versions of spiced chicken, beef and pork. The staff is friendly and helpful. Try the taquitos, especially the special ones with the potato filling; they are delicious! The chicken al pastor is a favorite filling for tacos or burritos. In addition to the meat, the customer can choose the additional beans, rice, salsas, guacamole, and other condiments. The servers add these for you. Although the service model is similar, the food here is much better tasting than Chipotle in Exton. I also urge you to try the flan.

    (4)
  • Krisi C.

If you come here, you will stop going to chipotle. Try a salad or a burrito. Al pastor and every meat is delicious. I also love their salsa selections. We pretty much go once a week living in the area. If you are nearby and love Mexican, it's a must try!!!!

    (5)
  • Yemisi E.

I went back and had a much better experience! I would not suggest getting hard tacos unless you're just getting ground beef. I campaign for the chipotle chicken every day, all day. Such yummy food.

  • Bruce U.

This place was fantastic - the owner greeted us while in line, we looked unsure of what to order as we've never been in before. He explained the different meats available and the process of how to order and then even surprised us with a small sampling of their meat choices, which tasted awesome. The food was fresh, quick, tasty and authentic for what one might expect. Fantastic place and we're glad we found it - cannot wait to come back!! Deserts are awesome - flan is real!! (I grew up in key west eating flan) and the churros are served warm with drizzled honey and real whipped cream - what a great place !!!

  • Ananya S.

There are several Mexican restaurants in the Exton area, including a chipotle but Taco Maya is where it's at. I have been here several times and each time tried something different and each time I have left with a happy tummy. I've had their barbacoa, cochinita pibul and carne azada tacos served on corn tortillas. The meat was moist and flavorful and I got to choose my toppings - I kept it simple with just onions, cilantro and a dash of lime. The chicken mole tamale was fantastic and steamed on order. For dessert we had the churros which were hot and served with a side of whipped cream. The staff is friendly and were able to answer all my questions. I have always loved Chipotle, but my husband has never really been a fan. I'm happy to say that my husband really loves this place so we will be visiting here more often.

  • Sarah D.

Had to try since I had heard such wonderful things. Was not disappointed! My daughter had a meatless burrito, and I had the cheese quesadillas. Yum, yum, yum!! Similar to Chipotle but so much better! Very fresh, delicious salsa bar, friendly staff, and the owner is so friendly. Feel so good supporting a local business!! We will be back.....often!!!

Best tamale in eastern pa . If you love tamales you need to go. Authentic period! Consistent food.

  • George O.

Ate there last night with the wife and kids. Good experience all around. For a mostly take out place there was plenty of room to sit and eat, everything was clean (they were cleaning up and wiping down after each customer left), and the stools for the counter (had plenty of space) were nicer than you'd expect. As I stood there trying to decide what to order, and what meats I wanted, they offered a sample of a few of the meats for us to try. The carnitas was out of this world, so my daughter got a mini burrito of it and I got a taco. She's a tough one to please, but she ate half of it and said it was "yummy in my tummy, like pop-pop's soup" (she loves his soup, so that's a compliment) and packed the other half to go. The boy got a quesadilla with shredded chicken. Was good sized, and he said it was like a really good grilled cheese with the best chicken he's had in it. I think that may have been a stretch...but the chicken WAS really good. The wife had the burrito with the chipotle chicken and really enjoyed it. Couldn't have been much better than the carne that was in my burrito with pico, sour cream, and cheese. Also got a side of chips, salsa, and guac...plus fountain sodas. The girl at the counter was nice enough to help carry a few of the trays over for us too. There was also an array of four freshly made salsas to choose from: regular, tomato, verde, and jalapeño/habanero. This place is definitely worth stopping by and stuffing your face full of delicious food. We'll be hitting them up again the next time we're in the neighborhood!

  • Lindsey V.

This place deserves like 20 stars. Chipotle ain't got shot on Taco Maya. The food is amazing here, I always explain it to be the authentic chiptole. More options in everything here and their roared tomato salsa is to die for. They give you great portions and you even get chips with your burrito!!! Every time we are home we hit this place and have never been disappointed with anything!!

  • Seve' M.

Consistently great food from this place, and now that I work out here I have a couple of experiences to make a well rounded review. I would rather let you know why it went down from a 5 star review to a 3 star review, because it could very well be just my quirks that wouldn't represent how you felt. 5 to 4. Because it is a take out Mexican place I have to compare it to El Limon based on my experiences. The reason it went down is because not everything is made to order. It is set up more like Chipotle where everything is in cafeteria style warmers ready for you to pick it out. I know this speeds up process times, and the food is still very good, but you have to think about how long that stuff has just been sitting in warm-hot water. 4 to 3. Another freshness note. The taquitos come in frozen wraps of 2 but listed on the menu per taquito. So not only are they not made right there and dropped in the fryer, if you only want three they have to break up the twins. They are not happy when they have to break up the twins... Still a place I will probably go to once a week but definately not as good as it gets.

By far the best Mexican food in the area. Prices are very reasonable the staff is exceptional. I will definitely be back. The guacamole is top notch. Had ta Quito special it was outstanding my wife had the fish tacos also outstanding.

Love, love, love the tacos! Taco Maya has very high quality, authentic ingredients and menu, it's my new favorite place for a quick bite!

    (5)
  • Alice S.

My brother and I went here for the first time today, and I have to say, I had the best carne asada quesadilla ever at Taco Maya! It's these small, quaint places who seem to have very authentic, delicious food. Plus, as soon as we got inside, we were greeted and asked if we had been there before and what kind of food we were interested in. All of the staff were incredibly polite and attentive. I definitely have to go back the next time I'm in the area again

  • Vanessa G.

The food was very tasty and not oily. For a whole plant based diet eater, this was a good place to eat. The service was top notch. We even met the owner who was working just as hard as his employees. I will return.

My favorite place to stop in Exton, never been disappointed!. Try the bowl and enjoy the the wonderful flavors. Excellent!!!

  • Amber P.

This is a new favorite! When it comes to quick, made to order this is as good as it gets. As many others have mentioned, it beats the Mexican 'fast' food places we're all familiar with. We had a burrito, a chicken chipotle quesadilla and a special queso they were featuring. All of it was awesome, really fresh ingredients. The place itself was also really clean, casual. The owner or maybe manager was very accessible, cleaned our plates right when we finished, very friendly. I highly recommend - quick and just as delicious as most sit down mexican restaurants - but half the price!

    (5)
  • Love To Dine A.

Have been back a few times recently and it seems they might have changed their chicken to include a much higher ratio of dark meet chicken. Bummer.

Counter order. The entire staff is very very helpful and friendly. Very similar to qdoba & chipotle.

    (4)
  • John P.

Great variety, tons of options, friendly staff, reasonable prices and fast service! And they have jarritos Mexican sodas. If you're in a hurry for a quick lunch that tastes great, go here! Just make sure you beat the lunch rush

  • Joe G.

Think of this as a locally-owned Chipotle. But better. The ingredients are fresh and the service is friendly. Glad to see these guys doing well.

This place is amazing. I could put heir salsa verde on cardboard and still love it. Amazing food!

  • Josh W.

Awesome quick authentic mexican. These guys know how to make a great burrito and it's very quick. Perfect substitute for Chipotle. Way more authentic mexican food here.

    (5)
  • Andres L.

Solid fast food Mexican. I had the chicken and steak burrito (two separate trips) and they're good. However, the steak is nowhere near the flavor and taste of chipotle. I've had chipotle and moe's, and this ranks in the middle. Also had mini tacos. All were decent.

    (3)
  • Alana C.

First time going today and not only were the staff super helpful and lovely, the food was amazing - and very reasonably priced! The meats are so full of flavor and there are lots of toppings to choose from. Will definitely be back again to try more from the menu.

    (5)
  • Jonathan D.

Best Mexican food in the area by far. A much better locally owned version of chipotle. Burritos are delicious, desserts are great, and their cheese dip is killer. It was the one thing my wife craved through pregnancy and I never complained that we had to go every week : ) glad these guys are there, staff is super friendly as well!!

    (5)
  • Cassie H.

I had a chicken salad and it was pretty good. The way it works is you come in, pick what you want (burrito, taco, salad, or quesadilla ) then you get to pick your toppings. Everything I had was fresh and good!

    (4)
  • Sarah S.

I love this place. I work at a hotel just around the corner and we frequently order take out for lunch. I haven't been disappointed by anything I've ordered (quesadillas, burritos, taco salads, etc.) and the service is wonderful. I usually come in with a post-it note with 3-4 different orders on it, and I never have to say a word--the owner/manager takes my order sheet and makes sure everything is made efficiently and accurately. Keep it up! :)

  • Dee K.

I'm so happy to finally see a great restaurant succeed here in Exton. Food is fresh and delicious, the staff is polite and quick. Keep up the good work!!!

  • Dry B.

Excellent quality food! Better than Chipoltle & Qdoba. All fresh ingredients - The soft & hard shell tortillas are made in-house and are delicious. The prices are decent and they have the option to buy single tacos. Skip chick-fil-a next door and check this place place out.

Stopped in after reading some positive Yelp reviews. I figured it would beat any fast food I'd find off the highway. The Burrito was excellent. Friendly service. Very clean with an upbeat vibe. The owner was very nice. Give this place a try! I wish I could find good fast Mexican like this In NJ. Yum!!!

Great value for local Mexican food. Get a burrito the size of a football. Service is fast and very friendly.

Lived in San Diego and love good Mexican food. Taco Maya has it. Full of flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The tasty food here hits the spot. Plus they have Belly!

  • Brian E.

So much better than Chipotle. Fresh food, bigger menu with more options. This place is the real deal.

    (5)
  • Chris D.

I can honestly say taco maya is the absolute best place around to grab a burrito or bowl. Chipotle qdoba and burrito loco all fall short of taco maya. My companies office is in the corporate center next door and I was eating taco maya every week. Everything they cook is super fresh with tons of flavor I highly recommend trying the barbicoa. The owner is also a super nice guy if you get a chance to talk with him and the corn chips are the freshest and tastiest of all the local taco joints. If your looking for quality and fresh Mexican cuisine taco maya is a must try

Probably the best place like it in the area...I'm thrilled they now have chorizo. I had the tacos thusly equipped and was muy happy...

First time eating here today for lunch (11/20/2014) and I'll Def be back. Great burrito! Fast service and all seats/tables almost all taken. Must mean it's a great place to go.

  • Justin C.

First off, I love Mexican food, seriously... If there is a Mexican restaurant within 20 miles I've been there. Second, this place rules. I've been here a few times and it has been awesome every time! The kids and I go usually go for the burritos and the wife has the tacos, and we are all big fans. Quick, clean, and delicious. I'd easily put it in one of my top 5 in the Philly/western suburbs area.

    (5)
  • Chris L.

As a native of California and one who has enjoyed Mexican food since I was 6 months old, this is the real deal. The food is freshly prepared, the salsas are made fresh, and the staff if friendly and efficient. I have to agree with other reviewers that the food here blows Chipotle out of the water. We eat here all the time, and never get tired of the great food.

    (4)
  • Steve D.

It's easy to drive by this place as it's tucked in behind Chickfila and Pronto but don't miss it. Think Chipotle with way more choices for their burritos (9 choices of meat) plus they offer other Mexican food choices (tacos, tamales, taquitos, etc) on their menu. It is all is very fresh and delicious. Be sure to get a side of guacamole. It's the best I've had in the area! Take out and seating are available.

I figured I eat here often enough to write a review.. This place is amazing! Service is always extremely friendly and attentive. Burritos are huge and definitely beat the Americanized chipotle. This is just straight up yummy authentic mexican food. Many different meats to choose from and a tasty salsa bar, highly recommend you try it for yourself!

After being an avid Chipotle fan since college, I was thoroughly impressed with this place. I ordered the Barbacoa burrito and it was absolutely delicious. Though just slightly smaller than chipotle burritos, the Taco Maya burrito stayed uniform while it was being devoured. The choice of Spanish rice other than the standard white or brown was a plus and the overall seasonings definitely catered to my taste buds! It's also nice that they include chips and salsa with their burritos. I hope this place continues to prosper in the future.

Just ate lunch here for the first time and was thoroughly impressed! I had the tilapia soft tacos and they were incredible. Marinated and fresh tasting. My boyfriend had chipotle chicken hard tacos and he was just as happy as I was. We will definitely be back!

Big fan of this place. Go about once a week. People are very friendly and service is quick. Food is excellent. Never had a bad meal. Monster burritos!

Outstanding Mexican cuisine. I consider myself hard to please when it comes to authentic Mexican style food, especially since I've had the other garbage in the area (On the Border, Plaza Azteca). Everything is fresh and well seasoned. The service is friendly and polite. I am lucky to live so close to a place like this. Any negative reviews on here seem to come from simple suburbanites who think a good idea for a taco is Taco Bell or Chipoltle. Typical. Anyway, I highly recommend this place to anyone who lives or works in the area.

My oh Maya!! Chester County is holding a gem in Lionville. It's fresh, homemade and superb. The Mayan pork was heaven. Anything below five stars is ludicrous. Green Tomatillo...my goodness. Will be back real soon sports fans.

I love Moe's and Chipotle and this place is way better. Same concept- but the food is very fresh, delicious and cheap! We also got our queso fresh, and not from a congealed tub that sat out all day.

Great tortilla soup and churros. Really nice people too. Went with a large group of boys and parents after a hockey game and they were very accommodating and didn't get flustered with so many people all of the sudden, as many places can get. Definitely will go again next time we're in the area. Quick and good.

Somewhere between a taqueria and a more comercial burrito chain like Moes, Baja fresh, Chipotle or Qdoba. Hidden between Chick-fil-A and Pronto it has a clean festive decor. Was initially unimpressed with the service as I was ignored for a few minutes at the counter eventually the manager asked everyone if they had helped me in spanish, then asked me in english. In fairness I realized later I was at the wrong end of the order/pay process. See photo of the sign I missed. I asked what he recommended, he asked if it was my first time and what I liked, I told him I'm a Carnitas fan. So he recommended a burrito. When I asked him what his favorite was, he let me sample a few meats. The barbacoa was good, the Carnitas was ok but the Carne asada was special. Tender, juicy, with just the right hint of crunchy grilled edges in some pieces. That was his favorite and my order. Masterfully rolled in with Spanish rice, grilled onions, half pinto, half black beans and standard toppings. SALSA time... roasted tomotillo had great flavor, jalapeño/habanero, had some heat but mixed together the pair danced my tastebuds into joy. The orange tomatoe based salsa and the Pico blended nicely in the belly of my burrito leaving my belly full and satisfied. Easy to see why multiple locals paid them compliments, one saying they were the best tacos he's had since moving from Costa Mesa, CA... while I can't say it was the best burrito I've ever had they definately hold their own against the McDonald's of burritos with the same fast format with a more authentic delivery.

Simply the best Mexican food around. Staff is friendly and work quickly. The quality of the food and ingredients are way ahead of Chipotle.

Seems like this place gets a lot of good reviews. I must be coming here on the wrong days. The tacos and burritos are very good, chips are so-so. It's kind of pricey too. I payed $15 for 3 tacos, chips and guacamole. Also, it was muy frio in there.

As good as it gets for fast Mexican food in this area. Fresh, homemade flavor with lots of choices. Really nice people, too. The complimentary salsas are obviously from scratch and are one of the main attractions for me. To the couple bad reviews - go back to eating Taco Bell, this is real Mexican food. I love this place, thanks!

Taco Maya is good. After living in SoCal (San Diego) for 5 years I know what a good mexican burrito looks and tastes like and Taco Maya's are a bit on the small side for the high price. Food quality is great though, I'm just used to bigger portion sizes for what I'm paying for. Step it up, guys.

Since moving to the area a couple of years ago from Atlanta, we have been in search of quality Mexican food! Taco Maya foots that bill without ever disappointing! Like others said the guacamole is amazing!! It doesn't stop there.... the meat choices, Chicken Tortilla soup and salsa's are top notch! Whenever we ask our kids where they want to eat out at...it is always Taco Maya! Keep up the great work, you will always get our business when needing to satisfy our Mexican food fix!

Well, let's see... The menus are laminated with a glossy surface that catches the glare from the lights and makes them very hard to read.. There's so much noise coming from the kitchen that it's hard to hear them ask you questions. I ordered two burritos, but was prepared to order six tacos. Not once did they ask "Is there anything else?" So down the line I went, with two guys each preparing one of my burritos. When they started wrapping them up (remember, they were supposed to be identical), one was almost double the size of the other. I got to the mouth-breather at the cashier, and was short-changed $30! With that finally straightened out I asked if they had any menus to take, and the response I got was, "Yea, over there". Oh the food...underwhelming

I came here for the first time last night for dinner with my husband, dad, and our one year old daughter. We had a great time - the staff was wonderful and explained everything to us, they entertained my baby and the food was spectacular. My husband even texted me today saying he was craving another chili relleno. Fabulous. We will definitely be back! So mad we missed dessert... nobody serves tres leches around the area.

NEVER AGAIN! My friend and I just finished our first meal from Taco Maya. Here's what we ordered: two taco meal with rice and beans. Our chosen meat was the "Ground Beef" which says is cooked with onions, tomatoes and seasoning. We ordered one white rice and one Spanish rice so that we could sample both. Now I always start by tasting a basic taco and go from there. In my opinion, if you cannot get a basic taco right, you are not going to make it. So here is my review: Presentation of the taco was OK., not great, but Mexican can be sloppy, right? Upon inspection of the tacos, they seemed greasy...I thought maybe this was condensation from the plastic container they packed them in (not a good idea for a crispy hard shell taco, don't you agree?) Taste: Well it WAS greasy, but what is worse....NO flavor. None, I mean nothing. The taco consisted of ground beef (that was dry and BLAND.,... I expected some salt and pepper at the very least when they say that it was "seasoned"), lettuce (not the freshest), and tomatoes (not ripe and void of any flavor), shredded cheese (OK), and sour cream (average) So after such disappointment with the tacos, on to the black beans and Spanish and white rice. Beans....tasted like they came right out of a can, and again NO FLAVOR. Rice so overcooked that it was mushy. I was so excited to have a great new place to eat....but next time I will make the trip to Chipotle. And if I can't drive there, I will pop in to the new Taco Bell.....that would be better!

This place is amazing! It's authentic "fast food" mexican, and the quality is fantastic. They have more options than Chipotle, and it just tastes better. I usually get the burrito, and it's HUGE. I live around the corner and love to go here often. Definitely my favorite Mexican place in the area.

    (5)
  • Nick M.

Pretty good. Everything tastes pretty fresh. Their salsa is pretty good, overall look of the restaurant is a little lack luster. Very fast, they had my meal ready in five minutes. Beans and rice are good, beans are a little under-cooked. The soft tacos I had were good. The barbacoa was fantastic, the chicken was kinda bland though. If you want something quick and good for lunch or dinner this place is good. Just don't expect it to be the best thing ever.

  • B B.

Solid choice and a good change-up from Chipotle. No need to nit-pick on minor personal preferences; the food is high quality and authentic. I cannot question Taco Maya's raison d'être in an area sporting multiple Taco Bell's, Wendy's, etc. The only thing I might change is its location in burger purgatory behind the former Swiss Farms.

  • Sishir B.

Sampled all of the meat options they had and I couldn't choose one! Ended up going with the Chipotle Chicken which was delicious. The burrito I got was delicious and I got it with sour cream, Spanish rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and jalapeños along with pinto beans. Affordable and delicious. Absolutely recommend this place.

  • Moira K.

I can only speak to the burritos, since that's what we order. Awesome-- stuffed full of meat, veggies and beans (and it's not the cheap meat you get in some Mexican restaurants). The food is much better than Chipotle. The salsa/sauces are homemade and worth the trip. Just be careful of the jabanero, a little goes a long way. We get take-out and the service is fast, between 5 and 7 minutes. I know because I'm usually watching the clock in the car (with two screaming kids) while my husband is ordering. Exton is becoming a great place for Mexican food. This is the best fast food. Buho's is the best sit-down.

    (5)
  • Risa M.

Quick, friendly and good menu selection. I've only ever had take out but there is always plenty of casual seating inside. Similar to chipotle but not as many fresh veggie options.

We have been there twice this week so far and will be going again. I hope in time the kinks will be worked out. I'm not a fan of how it is set up, but I do like how it is made to order in front of you. A few of the employees are a little over-whelmed during lunch time at the moment, but they still smile and are helpful. OK, so... - Both times I've been there I've ordered a burrito and both times I've been very satisfied with it. It's very filling! - Both times I've ordered the guacamole. I think it's the best I've ever tasted! Yummy! - The salsa is also very tasty. - Prices I suppose are ok. I paid around $9 for the burrito and the side of guac. I wish them good luck and I look forward to going there again!

Very great option for local Mexican food. Authentic and made fresh. Prices are reasonable and this is a favorite for my teenage sons. Nice job with this as several other restaurants in this same building have failed. Updated rating to 5 - this is one of my families favorite places. It is great to have fresh, quick food alternatives.

This place blows away chipotle. I have been going here off and on since it opened and the quality has been consistently amazing. It gets packed out for lunch but the line is always moving. The number of things you can get on your burrito is amazing. I think I have tried every add on and I haven't found a single one that I didn't enjoy. Taco Maya has the best Barbacoa I have ever had and I would recommend everyone try it.

    (5)
  • J R.

Place is relatively small and gets crowded at lunch. Went here to try their burritos. A lot more quality choice of ingredients for your burrito. They also make good sauce. Also tried their quesadilla and it's oozing with cheese. You can also buy authentic Mexican soda. Highly recommended for those looking for quality and value Mexican food.

Stopped in last night for first time and was very impressed. Reasonable prices. The burrito was excellent. Better than chipotle. Very fresh ingredients. Very authentic and the staff was very welcoming. Really hope this place does well there because it seems other places have struggled at that location, and Dtown/exton/Chester springs could really use a quick Mexican place with good food.

  • Grover T.

Ignore the bad reviews. Every restaurant has its growing pains. I, unlike the other rookies on the block, waited a few months after opening for TM to iron out the kinks. My experience was pleasant. Service was good. Meat, side and sauce selections were plentiful. Place seemed clean. Ambience was as expected. Price was fair. I had the burrito and thought it was comparable to chipotle. If you're looking for fine dining and non glossy menus (seriously?) then avoid this place. If you looking for some good Mexican cheap eats, give this place a shot.

What a great little gem! I'd seen this place lurking about (it's a little hidden), but the other night we finally stopped in. We've already been back once since, and frankly writing this review today makes me want to go back tonight. Great food, quick and pleasant staff. Quality is WAY better than anything else you can get "fast" and frankly we prefer to a few of the more popular sit down places around. Give it a try. Three of us ate, with drinks, for $24

Today was the first time I went here.. I've heard many good things about it and live fairly close by...and boy was I amazed ..it blows chipotle out of the water. It was amazing. I had the 3 hard tacos and they let me put different meat on each one. It tasted so fresh and so good. My friend told me she met the owner and that they make everything fresh overnight ! The cheese dip was to die for and there is so many more options to choose from! This will be a place I will be coming back for sure !

Stopped in for a quick easy to go dinner. Wow were my wife and I impressed. She ordered the taco salad with chicken. Fresh taco shell and flavorful meat. I got a chicken burrito. Delicious! The chips and guacamole were fresh and flavorful. The service was very attentive making sure we understood the menu and how to order. They also made sure to ask what extras we wanted added to our choices. Great addition to the area!

Stopped in to share a burrito with my wife. Delicious! We will for sure be stopping here again in the future, especially since we travel the turnpike often and this restaurant is conveniently close to one of the exits. My only disappointment is that a 4 oz side of guacamole was $2.00, which to me is a little high. Don't get me wrong it was delicious nevertheless. Stop by for a delicious Mexican meal!

An update, based on additional visits. Still satisfied with the quality and freshness of the food. As far as I can tell, business continues to be brisk, despite the poor visibility of the location. The service has gotten a bit faster, but lines are still present. I'm very happy this place has opened, and I will continue to support the service of good quality, reasonably priced Mexican food. I've no personal familiarity or relationship with the owner or employees of the place.

Great addition to the eagleview restaurant carousel. Authentic Mexican fare. Burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salads. Quesadillas had a bit too much cheese but maybe that's just me. Everything tastes very fresh. Customer service was good... A rarity these days. Prices pretty reasonable. Hopefully this place sticks around and expands their offerings.

I am surprised by the negative reviews. I really enjoyed it, it was very good. I ordered two soft tacos, one with chicken and the other with carne asada. They were delicious and met my expectations. They were flavored well, not over cooked which can happen with carne asada. The rice and beans that came with it were okay, but I didn't go there for the rice and beans so I wasn't worried about that, they were good enough. I will definitely go back and take my family- I like the choices of meats and fishf and the freshness of everything. It was hard to hear with background noise, but they guy taking my order was patient, moved closer and spoke louder. I look forward to trying other things and think anybody that goes to taco bell over this is crazy! I hope they last since that space hasn't done well for the other restaurants. this one has a different niche though.

Three trips there in the past week and will be back for more. Hefty burrito with a large choice off adds. Barbacoa was good, but I'm definitely a carne azada guy. Their barbacoa is not cheek meat, though, in case you are a South Texan looking for that authentic Tex-Mex fave. Manager said he was from Veracruz which has a different barbacoa tradition (makes sense - on a trip to Baja they looked at me like I was gonzo asking for cheek meat.) Nice to have a choice between black beans and pintos, though would prefer frijoles. Tamales are firm, not fluffy so I'm thinking they're using real manteca. Larger than the ones we make during our annual Christmas tamalada, so it could be a meal in itself. Place is definitely busy during the lunch period when we've been. Looks like this should make it where Charlies and Butcher Burger did not. As for the earlier whiner re: glossy menus, wow, you are beyond help.

Like others I don't understand the negative reviews because I loved my meal there today. I got the 2 taco combo meal and chose tilapia. They cooked up the tilapia fresh for the tacos, offered me the whole range of toppings for them, and pulled the lettuce for a fresh batch when the employee evidently wasn't satisfied with the look of it. The tilapia was cooked great and I loved their salsa verde with avocado. The black beans and mexican rice were both decent as well. The employees were friendly, the ingredients for my meal were great and the food tasted authentic. They are obviously still working out the kinks, but I think with a little effort they can easily fine tune the system, at which point I would definitely upgrade them to a 5 star rating. I didn't notice any issue with noise coming from the kitchen by the way.

For those of you who visited this establishment back in March, give it another try. My husband and I dined there several months ago and were underwhelmed by the service and the food. However, after hearing good recent reviews from friends and family we decided to give it another try for lunch today. I have to say it was like walking into a completely different restaurant. The service and food were excellent and the place was packed. They've really turned things around for the better. We will definitely be going back!!!

Did take out from here last night & can't wait to go back! Husband got a burrito & I got chix quesadillas. Both were delicious! Also loved the homemade chips. The staff is super friendly. Not sure why the bad reviews...one 'yelper' who gave a poor review spoke to the paper menu?!? Come on.

I had a carne asada burrito and it was very good. The ingredients were very fresh. I especially liked hat the had cilantro as one of the toppings. This gave my burrito a good flavor. I had this to go and they included a bag of chips and salsa with my order. I will definitely come back to try more menu items.

I went back and had a much better experience! I would not suggest getting hard tacos unless you're just getting ground beef. I campaign for the chipotle chicken every day, all day. Such yummy food.

Awesome.Think Chipotle but more authentic choices, not corporate or hipsterish, and much cheaper!! Super Friendly service, Mexican decor, and fast!! Cannot wait to come back all the time!!

Best tamale in eastern pa . If you love tamales you need to go. Authentic period! Consistent food.

By far the best Mexican food in the area. Prices are very reasonable the staff is exceptional. I will definitely be back. The guacamole is top notch. Had ta Quito special it was outstanding my wife had the fish tacos also outstanding.

The food was very tasty and not oily. For a whole plant based diet eater, this was a good place to eat. The service was top notch. We even met the owner who was working just as hard as his employees. I will return.

Great variety, tons of options, friendly staff, reasonable prices and fast service! And they have jarritos Mexican sodas. If you're in a hurry for a quick lunch that tastes great, go here! Just make sure you beat the lunch rush

Awesome quick authentic mexican. These guys know how to make a great burrito and it's very quick. Perfect substitute for Chipotle. Way more authentic mexican food here.

  • Andres L.

Solid fast food Mexican. I had the chicken and steak burrito (two separate trips) and they're good. However, the steak is nowhere near the flavor and taste of chipotle. I've had chipotle and moe's, and this ranks in the middle. Also had mini tacos. All were decent.

  • Alana C.

First time going today and not only were the staff super helpful and lovely, the food was amazing - and very reasonably priced! The meats are so full of flavor and there are lots of toppings to choose from. Will definitely be back again to try more from the menu.

Keep it up! :)

    (5)
  • Cassie H.

I had a chicken salad and it was pretty good. The way it works is you come in, pick what you want (burrito, taco, salad, or quesadilla ) then you get to pick your toppings. Everything I had was fresh and good!

Yum!!!

  • Ashley M.

  • Steve M.

  • Laura G.

  • Joe F.

  • John S.

Love this place! Food is great and fast! Best fast Mexican I have found. I love that this is near my office.

No flavor. Shells for tacos collapsed with all the grease. Guacamole and Pico de Gallo was passable. Not worth the money.

The burrito was average at best, not much better than Taco Bell but 3x the price. The service was well below average. Yet another restaurant that will fail at this location.

Delicious, fresh Mexican food. The shredded pork and tilapia are delicious. The guacamole was outstanding as well. The chips were home made, delicious, and not greasy. We will definitely be inning here again!!

Come on.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
