Casual eatery with a pretty vast menu in Exton. Had lunch here on a wedding weekend a couple of weeks back. Service was excellent the food was very good. We sat outside and enjoyed the fountain nearby. Certainly a reliable place of you want to grab a bite when in the area.

The atmosphere is amazing! The outdoor seating is beautiful and peaceful. We always enjoy the live bands and the food is delicious which makes the experience perfect all around. Pizzas are awesome!

Recently dined here again on a Friday night in February. Once again th atmosphere was great, but I'm going to stop eating here. For my taste, the food is highly over priced, and mediocre at best.

We frequently visit Brickside grill because it offers a dining experience unique to the eagleview area. Upon walking in we are greeted with smiles and a warm welcome back embrace. This approach is seen all throughout the restaurant, from the managers down through the hostess. This is one of the many reasons we continue to come back. Another aspect of Brickside that we enjoy is the ever changing chef specials. Tonight i had a whole Caribbean red snapper with plantains that was perfectly prepared. Most restaurant cook to taste, not brickside! They are not afraid of seasoning and boy they do it right. My meal was so good that it immediately transported me to a palm tree hut on a white sandy beach in St. Thomas, where i first had this meal. My wife could not decide on a specific dish. She decided on multiple dishes. He favorite were the drunken clams. They are prepared with yuengling beer hence they drunken clams. The clams were tender and extremely fresh. The clam broth is great to dunk the table bread into, totally delish! Her second favorite dish was the fried calamari. The squid was litely breaded and simply delicious. Served with marinara sauce makes for a finger licking good experience. I just recently lost my phone so i cant add pictures. Brickside is a must do in eagleview, pa

Normally great; tonight was not. Admittedly our fault my wife and I deviated from the norm and tried 2 menu options we wouldn't have otherwise. Stuffed calamari was disgusting. Think of a pasta shell stuffed with sausage and cheese, then change the shell to soggy fish-tasting squid skin. Ugh. Second was fish and chips; again soggy tasteless (even with tons of lemon and salt) fish portions with old fries kept warm by a heat lamp. We will be back again but only for burgers.

Great for brunch! Perfect place for us to take our extended family when they visit on a Sunday : ) Highly recommended!

I wish they were better food. Kelly M. was my server and she was excellent. Thanks for the great service.

I'm surprised no one really mentioned the service or wait time at this place. We come here for the great food, but the service is the worst. Also, I made a reservation for outside seating at 7. They did not seat me until 8. Why have an option for reservations? Annoying.

Hate their food. Tried 3 times. Maybe it should be a 2. Always had good service and their specialty drinks are pretty. Whether the liquor is strong enough depends on the day. Been there several times but learned to stick to the drinks.

I went with my boyfriend to the Brickside Grille for dinner. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our meal, and the service was fast. I've been to the Brickside before, and I always go for the nachos as my app. For the huge, delicious portions you get, the nachos are well worth trying on your visit! For dinner, I ordered the Chicken Cesar Salad and my boyfriend got the Grilled Angus Burger. My boyfriend's burger was filling and cooked to his liking (medium-well) without being too dry. My salad was good, although the dressing was a little on the heavy side. However, the dressing was very good, so I didn't mind in the least. My chicken was cooked well and it wasn't too tough. However, our food was nothing out of the ordinary -- we got typical American-style cuisine for a slightly steep price tag. We enjoyed our food, but it wasn't phenomenal. The environment and the atmosphere makes the food here better; take away the scenery, and it's average at best. A common complaint on Yelp is that the Brickside is inconsistent. I would have to agree. If we returned to the Brickside on a night where the kitchen/waitstaff service was off, or if we ordered two different entrees, I'm not sure if I would be writing the same review or awarding 4 stars. I've eaten here over a dozen times in the last eight years, and this restaurant is truly a 'hit or miss', depending on when you go and what you order. This luck of the draw factor, as illustrated with its polarizing reviews on Yelp, truly decreases the Brickside's appeal. The gorgeous location is worth mentioning. Although this restaurant is a little difficult to find, the location is beautiful. One of the best features of Brickside Grille is the outdoor seating during summertime. On a Thursday night, we requested a table outside near the fountain without a problem. The hostess seemed a little hesitant to give us our table, probably because a large party arrived shortly thereafter in the same area, but there was room for all of us. However, I've been to this restaurant before and it can get busy, so make sure to notify your table preference when you make a reservation well in advance.

I would give one star, but our waitress Courtney was very sweet. Went here with friends after work and ordered the PEI Mussels. My first batch came out with some tiny pearls (nothing to pay my student loans with) and one had not opened showing that it was dead before cooking. Courtney saw and offered to grab me a fresh batch. When the second batch came, the mussels were not de-beard properly and some were obviously over cooked. I cook fresh mussels from time to time so I know what a well prepared mussel should look, taste and feel like. Courtney saw that I was still unhappy and quickly offered to take it back and let me order something else. Upon her recommendation I ordered the quesadilla. I'm fairly certain that the chef was annoyed and deliberately poured salt over the entire inside of the quesadilla. Honestly, there's no way that amount of salt could be an accident. I have pretty bad social anxiety so I lied and said it was fine, also I was afraid to send anything back again. I didn't eat any more of the quesadilla and pretty soon my stomach started to hurt so I had to leave my friends behind and go home. I'm not sure if this place was having an off night or they just don't know how to cook food but I personally won't ever be going back there. Dine at your own risk.

Love this place! Menu is diverse and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. They offer outdoor seating which is nice surrounded by trees that are lit up. Indoors, the atmosphere is decent. Nothing special, but it's nice and its clean. They offer a Sunday brunch and you can get the brunch buffet but it's nothing to write home about. Their lunch and dinner is what makes them so great. You can't go wrong with whatever you chose as it is ALL good. The filet with crab is awesome and if you're into dirty martini's with blue cheese stuffed olives then you're going to be a happy customer! Also, the oysters are delish and fresh. They also incorporate new menu items every few months which is cool. We frequent here a lot and the staff is always very friendly. This place is great for a romantic dinner or a casual dinner with friends/family. Also good for larger parties. We will keep coming back!

Great place to go in the summer to sit outside-have a really nice seating area in this shopping center. They also have a great happy hour menu which includes $3 Miller Lite and Yuengling, $4 select wines, $5 select martinis, and $4 for certain craft beer. I went with the Goose Island 312 which is a great choice if you like Blue Moon-light summer beer. Also many great food specials at happy hour which is weekday from 4:30-6:30 including $6 burgers, $3 mini cheese pizza, $5 buffalo chicken sliders, cheesesteak egg rolls, and chicken tacos. All the food was delicious as we ordered almost everything on the happy hour menu. The buffalo chicken sliders come with 3 and are very tasty and tangy, Be warned the chicken tacos are spicy with a nice kick. The cheese pizza is a perfect size to go with a cold beer. I also recommend on their regular menu the nachos which come piled high with toppings. We had a large party at happy hour and the manager was not very friendly so that is my only complaint. The waiters and waitresses did a great job of taking everyones orders and getting food and drink out to us quickly.

My darling valentine and I decided to have a pre-valentine's day date and we chose to go to an old favorite. We haven't been too excited about the food, the last few time we have been there. It's not bad but it didn't knock our socks off. We are loyal customers of The Brickside and the Drafting Room its sister restaurant. Well we are here to tell you, this meal knocked our socks off . We started our experience with their Moody Blue Cheese Plate, it had Blue Cheese, Sweet Sopressata, brandied apricots, crostini, and Greek Olives. The Blue Cheese was very high quality, it had the right amount of strength without being overly pungent, the Sopressata blends well with cheese and apricots on the crostini. This provided a great start to a wonderful evening with my love The next course was the Brie Salad for me and the Heart of Romaine for my love. The Brie Salad was an interesting combination that surprised me on how it came together. The Brie Salad was a combination of shaved Kale, Brie slices, Cranberries, Walnuts and Apples. The Kale gave the Salad superb lecture and taste with the brie provided a creamy blend that balanced out the tang of the cranberries and cut the sweetness of the apples. It was dressed with a light white wine vinaigrette dressing. You should try it if you get a chance. The Heart of Romaine Salad was a staple with the Blue Cheese dressing, another winner. Our main courses were Cedar Plank Salmon with a maple glaze for my beautiful date and a Peppered Bacon wrapped Monk fish for me. The Cedar Salmon was accompanied with a Sweet Potato mash and seasonable vegetables. The salmon was cook perfectly and the maple glaze gave the extra punch to the salmon that help cut the richness of the salmon. The slight smoke from the cedar planks gave the salmon a good favor that blended well with the maple glaze. The real winner of the night was the Monk Fish. When I was a kid, monk fish was first introduced into the U.S. market and it was called the poor man's lobster. This dish really brought that out. Try to imagine, Lobster Tall wrapped in bacon. If you can't imagine it you should try it. When they say everything taste better with bacon, in this case it is very true. The combination of the Monk Fish and the Bacon just blew me away. The meatiness of the Monk Fish and the Crispiness of the Bacon along with the spice of the black pepper blended well with the Hollandaise Sauce. This was all over the Horseradish Mashed Potatoes. The richness of the fish was balanced out with the mash. The one thing that I would suggest to the Chef is the make sure the Asparagus is trimmed properly. A few of the Asparagus were a bit woody at the lower end. The one dish that I was the most disappointed with was the Crème Brulee. The custard was well made but the Burlee was almost nonexistent. I consider myself a Crème Brulee aficionado. When you receive a Crème Brulee you should be able take your spoon and holding it sideways tap the caramelized sugar and hear and feel the Brulee crack. Unfortunately, there was no crack on this Brulee. The custard was good but the best part of the desert was missing which in my opinion took half of the enjoyment of this desert away. Over all I recommend going the Brickside , it is a good time and good food.

I usually have a decent meal at the Brickside but I made the mistake of ordering the swordfish taco's on this visit. The light, fresh, crisp experience typical of a fish taco was completely missing. Instead I got an over seasoned (blackened which it did not state on the menu) greasy disappointment. And unfortunately our cocktails were disappointing as well. The only saving grace was the crab Louie salad.

Call us gluttons for punishment...we visited this restaurant again when our daughter had a book Club meeting upstairs. My husband got the crab cakes again -- they had a definite "twang" that seemed like lots of lemon trying to cover up old crabmeat. I ordered the Caesar side salad and an appetizer of coconut chicken with spicy mango dipping sauce. The Caesar was flavorful but completely overdressed, so much that my lettuce was soggy within 10 minutes. The chicken was so over fried that it was actually chewy and tough. I tasted no coconut, although the over frying killed the flavor. The dipping sauce was mango, but I tasted no spice. My husband was offered crab bisque in lieu of his off crab -- the bisque was good at one time but had a slightly burnt flavor. The service was excellent. It is a real shame that the food was sub par. We will not be returning At those prices, two strikes and you are out.

This was my go to place for oysters and brunch. I ordered 8 oysters as an app. After eating them I discovered a small worm like creature moving in one of the shells! I pointed it out to the waitress. She did nothing. Did not offer to take the oysters off the bill, comp a drink or tell a manager. I'm am lucky I didn't get ill. Very disappointed.

Love this place! Had the cedar plank salmon, a few fantastic craft beers...Ninkasi DIPA! We had exceptional service from our server Steph who was very personable and responsive to our needs. I would definitely recommend this place for anything from a romantic dinner for two, large parties or just a happy hour get together. Will be back for sure.

Huge disappointment! Came here to grab dinner after a family vacation and was in a very relaxed mood. I left feeling highly irritated and feeling like I needed another vacation. We wanted to eat outside since the weather was nice, so we were willing to wait even though we had a reservation. We were told 30-40 minutes. We went to the bar and waited for 25 minutes for a beer, martini and juice for the kids. That should have been the first sign as there were only 2 other tables in the area. We checked in on our table around the 45 minute mark and were told only 2 parties in front of us. At the 1 hour and 10 minute mark our name was no longer on the list but they assured us we would be up next. At this point I was outside looking at 2 open tables and they sat someone else in front if us. At twice the expected wait time I decided it was time to take our business elsewhere.

Our family's eaten at Brickside a number of times, but we probably won't be coming back, just because of how inconsistent our experiences have been. There are some really overpriced - and disappointing - entrees, but also some great other options, like the nachos. If you plan on eating here at any popular hour, expect to wait and be prepared for totally hit-or-miss service.

On a Monday evening at 7:00, I met up with some friends and found the place quite empty but with a 20 min. wait. Having already had dinner at home, I decided to order dessert. Our drinks came in a timely fashion but it seemed like forever before we could place our dessert order. I ordered the carrot cake from the dessert menu which by the way had no prices on it. The surprise came with the bill....a $9 piece of cake. With the poor service and high prices, I will not be back.

local spot... I have had some excellent experiences and some not so great experiences here.... The staff has always been friendly and excellent. This place def scores way way better in the summer time when you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. They have live music at times and it can make for the great start to getting overly loaded on a saturday/friday/tuesday night... The inside atmosphere is ok just ok. I hav enjoyed the bar area more than the restaurant itself. My kid is obsessed with the fish tanks so if they could maybe put a ledge up near the tanks so i can rest my drink on it while my child is repeating the words fish 75 times it might be nice! the food is good - great- bad... i have had a little bit of everything. Here is a MUST order and its great EVERY time and that is their nachos. I understand you arent always in the mood for nachos but if you think you are, then do it up becuase they dont mess around. sometimes my wife and i just head over for beers and nachos. (a total win for me!) Pizzas and sandwiches are good. sometimes the big meals they offer are just "meh". You cant say bad, but you arent doing dances in your chair because its sooo good. I will also say that their Wedge salad is excellent!! awesome blue cheese dressing and just all around a great wedge. i find myself trying to convince my wife its acceptable for me to lick the plate when i am done! (small one is better than the large... the large one could feed 7 families its like and entire head of lettuce) My wife also gets the Crab Louie salad...she loves it, never complains about it. so i guess thats a good order also. If you live in the area and have not tried this place yet, crawl out from under the rock you live and give it a shot....Its a quality place. now that the weather is nice sit outside, enjoy a beer (good beer selection), get some nachos and enjoy life for a bit.....

We've been going here for years. Some dishes are excellent and some are so-so. Since we've been going here for so long we know what to order and what to stay away from. They have a fairly large menu. The winners for me are: potato skins; clams casino; cajun oysters; shrimp cocktail; conch chowder; crab cake; oyster BLT; shaved prime rib sandwich; crab & artichoke dip; prosciutto shrimp. I've had the buffet only once and can't really complain about anything. Their breakfast ham was excellent. I haven't had a problem with service, actually just the opposite. We eat over in the bar area where it's the bar and an area off to the side of the bar that's open seating. They have 3 different flat panel displays and they have never complained about changing the station for me. I like to go on Sunday afternoons and watch hockey over lunch. We are recognized by the staff so perhaps because we're regulars we get extra attention but in general I think the more experienced staff are in the bar area. I have to admit I have gotten so-so service on the other side dining side.

This is one of my all time favorite places to eat. EVERYTHING on the menu is excellent and I have never left there thinking I should have ordered something else. The price is excellent for the type of food also. You can also walk into this place in a suit or t-shirt and jeans and no one thinks any different. Friday night entertainment is also always good as well.

I went here for a rehearsal dinner. The first thing that caught my (and my date's eye) on the way in was the sign over the bar that said "OYSTERS". We're both oyster aficionado's, so I figured we'd be sampling something raw before the end of the night. The preplanned menu was good with a chicken dish, a cedar planked salmon dish (with delicious sweet potato puree, so good that I stole bites from other plates) and my choice: the "cornflake" coated crab cakes. The crab cakes were wonderful. The beer choice was pretty extensive, I had my old fallback Guinness, and there was some hype about Boddington's Pub Ale (yes, of course, there should be some hype, it's a great beer.) To finish out the night.....of course! An oyster shooter for all who wanted one! These shots were bigger than I'm used to, but still with a combination of vodka, cocktail sauce, and a raw oyster, how could you possibly go wrong? That's right. You can't! With one server taking care of approximately 30 people, service wasn't too bad! I can't speak to how pricey Brickside was, but it's a very large restaurant that offers live entertainment, raw oysters, and good beer. So, go!

The counterpart to The Drafting Room in Exton ( yelp.com/biz/the-draftin… ), Brickside is more food-focused (though have some great beer taps). Brickside has a slightly better breakfast buffet than the DR, which is saying something. Food is consistently good, portions are large, and the waitstaff is cheerful and effective. Nachos are perhaps the best in the area, per a friend of mine who orders them everywhere he goes. They feature brick oven pizzas which are also excellent. Further, it's a much larger restaurant than the Drafting Room, so large groups are welcome there. We have a group of 22 that meets there regularly and there is always room for us. They have a lot of nice outdoor seating that is in high demand when Eagleview has its free music series in the summertime. Eagleview Events: hankingroup.com/events

I'm a big fan of Brickside, it seems to be our family go to place for celebrations. I recently had my baby shower here. The staff is great, we barely noticed that they were there! The food was good and the service was quick. I've eaten here several times and the food has always been consistently good. The ambience is nice and very relaxed. I really enjoy the outdoor space as well. They have a great space for private parties off the entrance. You can be as loud as you want without disrupting other diners! I have yet to try the oysters, but the raw bar is well stocked with an variety of the shellfish. I know I wil be back when I am in the area for drinks, good eats and an round good time.

I went here for my birthday, the food was great, the staff was great. I don't usually give 5 stars unless I'm blown away which I'm not sure that I was, but for what this place is, it does it very well.

Outside seating and waiter ~ perfect! Cold eggs, potatoes and wrong toast, not so much:( Will never do breakfast again. I just don't like my eggs cold. Came here instead of Nudy's just for outdoor seating with dog in tow. Two stars, because the weather perfect to be outside and our waiter was excellent! If I would have sent the plate back with what looked like a manager that brought it...then my Morher would have waited and her (OK) French toast would have gotten cold:( They should have offered to take off bill, but didn't bother.

Location, location, location. We live nearby and that's why we go. If this restaurant were further away we would not frequent it at all. The staff is excellent! Always friendly and pleasant. The food is subpar and overpriced. I feel that another restaurant in Eagleview would make the kitchen step up. Until that happens we will go, drink, and order some of the apps but that's it.

I've been enjoying patronizing the Brickside Grille for many years. Lately, we enjoy their wood fired pizzas and the Sunday brunch. The service is always good and the food is just as good. We can easily walk to the Brickside Grille and can usually get a table without a reservation.

We love the people here! The staff is always so nice. We've never had a bad meal, whether it's just a pop in for happy hour or dinner out with friends. Brickside consistently has a nice menu, good beer selection, really nice staff, it's our go to place when we want to stay local and go out. Summer concert nights are awesome! Get there early or plan to patiently wait for a table outside.

outstanding for brunch, but honestly I thought dinner was awful. the service is consistently good at all times, but the jambalaya was poorly cooked and over-seasoned. the pecan chicken was flavorless. the pork dumping appetizers were tasty but tiny and hardly worth $9. giving 3 stars on the strength of good service and great brunch.

What a disappointment last night was! The Waiter wasn't overly friendly at all. The onion ring appetizer was very good as was my romaine with blue cheese dressing and crumbles. But then, dinner arrived. Ugh! My prime rib was literally cool (and I didn't order it rare). My baked potato was way overdone and dry to the point the outer skin was hard and crunchy. Others at the table who ordered burgers said they were awful. The buns were crumbly and mealy--and the patty also cold. Fortunately, the desserts were excellent. Once I made note to the waiter about my potato, saying that the Chef should be embarrassed--his whole attitude and demeanor changed. One in our party asked for coffee. He didn't even look at anyone else to ask if anyone else wanted coffee too. And forget about a refill! Once we paid the check--and yes, I still gave him the benefit of the doubt and tipped 20%, he was GONE. We never saw him again for a water or a coffee refill! Definitely won't return...

Why on earth does it take 20 minutes after an order is placed to learn that what you ordered is no longer available? Why did they take food from the table with the promise that it would be wrapped in a Togo container without actually honoring that promise? Why would anyone return to this place after eating over priced sub par food?

went with my wife and was disapointed...had the lobster bisque, it was very dark and came out cold...had the stuffed mushroom, came out cold and not very good, had the prime rib sandwich and for the price not much meat on it...the entree's seem to be pricey...we also had the thai chicken pizza and it was just ok...they had some good beer choices...all in all will not be back...sorry...

This is the story of a love-hate relationship. My wife and I have frequented the Brickside since its inception. Because of it's location, it's a favorite watering hole. We were quite happy to have a place with a reasonably good menu and outside seating open up within spitting distance. And as a first cousin to the Drafting Room, we had expectations for the food... We still go on a regular basis - but i have to admit its more about location, location, location than it is about outstanding cuisine or service. I don't understand why, but the service here has always been slow to bad, and the bartenders- who are less than expert - have an attitude. Frankly, one of the best aspects (IMHO) of this place was it's smoker friendly policy - including cigars. Now that the no-smoking nazi attitude has finally taken root, they'll have to be rated based on food and service alone - which is a tougher standard ;-) Speaking of food, its a mixed bag. Some of the menu items are done quite well, others mediocre. I've always enjoyed the extensive raw bar, but at 1.50-2.25 per oyster its on the expensive side. The prosciutto-wrapped shrimp are good size. The calamari can be hit or miss, but when its not overcooked its pretty decent. They've kept the menu varied enough to appeal to a wide variety of tastes, so its a good place for a business lunch. All told, I'd rather have it there than not - but they'd benefit from some localized competition in Town Center. I tend to believe that the little monopoly they enjoy in the Eagleview Town Center location has made them complacent. They could be better - but why bother when nobody's next door...? Like I said - love-hate. Go. Eat drink and be merry. Just keep your expectations in check.

Had lunch with a group and just to be quick, atmosphere, service and the drunken littlenecks, thai chicken pizza and the soups where great. Not the best fish and chips, having both suffering from lack of crispness in batter and chips soggy from sitting under the soggy fish. Second was the so called chicken gumbo. The only thing that was gumbo like was the andouille sausage. The chicken was sodden with the puddle of oil in the dish. Same for the orka and there was no rice. Not sure what you would call the dish, but calling it gumbo should be a crime and would be if you were any where close to Lousiana.

My wife and I had a nice meal at the Brickside Grill on Saturday night. Service was great and the delivery of the drinks, appetizers and the entrees were timed just right. We started with the Buffalo Shrimp. Finally, a restaurant not afraid to make something buffalo with a kick. These four shrimp were actually hot. For dinner, I had the prime rib and my wife had the blackened prime rib. I found the prime rib a little fatty but it was cooked just right (medium). My wife liked the blackened prime rib but they should leave off the cheese. We will be going back since there were many items on the menu that we would like to try.

This place is a breath of fresh air for Exton. I feel like I live in this area since I travel here so often for work. If you're following your GPS, it may be a little difficult to find, but I eventually got there. There is plenty of parking, and there is a public area outside of the restaurant where they have live music during the summer. There's ample seating both indoors and outside. I wouldn't eat outside simply because you're mostly overlooking the parking lot. They have a pretty diverse American fare menu. I've only gotten seafood there. I know, it's a strange choice for landlocked Exton, but I'm just not much of a chicken/steak/pork person. The first time I went I ordered stuffed shrimp with tomato beurre blanc sauce, and it was really good. The sauce was perfect...velvety, a little sweet but also tangy. So fresh, so good. The crabmeat stuffing was so good that I went back the next night for dinner and ordered the crab cakes. The two crab cakes were quite large, and had a paper thin crust of potato chips. I was hesitant, but it all worked. They were just decadent. I only had steamed veggies as a side and were seasoned well. Let's be honest, a light butter sauce is good on anything. The second time I ordered the crab cakes, they weren't as good as the first time, and the veggies were just bland. I haven't been back since. Maybe it was just an off night for them. The waitstaff was pleasant but very busy. They don't have a lot of time for that personal touch since it's such a large capacity restaurant. Otherwise, I didn't have a bad experience with service. If they can produce the food consistently, I think this place will be a hit. But given the area is starved for restaurants other than franchises, I think this place will remain popular in either case.

I hosted my sister in laws baby shower at Brickside. The day of the event everything went great! They were very accomodating and helpful with everything we needed and the service was great. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is becuase leading up the event I tried to get in contact with the party planner several times and she never returned my calls. I ended up solidifying all the details with one of the managers and everything turned out great however, I was a little nervous prior to the day of since i had never actually talked the the planner. Overall, I recommend it for private parties as they do a really nice job.

My wife, daughter, and I were eager to try Brickside Grille for the first time. Sadly, our experience was largely disappointing, on several fronts. First, we arrived and were seated at 6:40, but didn't take the first sip of our drinks or taste the delicious bread rolls until 7:10. Thirty minutes is rather an unacceptable amount of time to wait for drinks. Why did it take so long? Two reasons. First, before we ordered, we pointed out to the server how much our daughter (9 years old) was craving scallops, but we know her palate and could tell that most of the exotic flourishes of the complementing starch and vegetables would be lost on her -- so we asked if she could order simply a smaller order of scallops, either broiled or pan seared, since $25 was going to be quite a lot for a child's appetite, who wouldn't appreciate all of the accompaniments. Our waitress, Ashley, said she would check with the chef, to see what could be done. She disappeared for nearly 10 or 15 minutes, and when she finally returned, the word was, "The kitchen can prepare the scallops in a simple broiling, but the price will still be $25." Now, there, I think a mistake was made -- because where we would have been happy to pay $16 or $17 for just the scallops, now we elected to downgrade to the mussels appetizer for her, which is only $9.50 for your enterprise. A stubborn kitchen simultaneously forfeited $6 or $7 and disappointed the customer. So, next, we place our dinner order. We asked for a dozen oysters. Ashley asked, "Do you want all of them to be Chesapeakes?" My wife asked, "Which of the oysters on the menu are at the $2 per oyster rate, and discounted if we get the full dozen?" Ashley said, "I think you can get any of them for the same price." So, we ordered two of each of the 6 varieties on the menu, expecting to pay the discounted menu price of $17 per dozen. We also ordered calamari, but because we saw another patron return the calamari given that it had too many hot peppers, I asked that the kitchen "go light" on the peppers. We also ordered drinks -- I had planned to order a draft beer, but the draft compressor was broken, so I chose a (more expensive) bottled beer. My wife ordered a cosmopolitan, which frustratingly, the mixed drinks are not priced on the menu. We then waited another solid 15 minutes to get one bottle of beer (no glass), and an apology from Ashley that she had forgotten what my wife had ordered to drink (a cosmopolitan). Once reminded, I asked if she could bring me a beer glass when she returned with the cosmo, and could we get some bread rolls that all of the other tables seemed to be enjoying. Another 5 or 6 minutes pass, and the cosmopolitan arrives with the bread, but no beer glass. I ask again for a beer glass for my bottle of beer. The oysters finally arrive, along with the calamari, which is (not to our surprise, at this point) loaded with hot peppers, and quite greasy and over-cooked. After another delay of about 15 minutes, the entrees arrive, and I will say that they were delicious. But, then comes the time for the bill. Where is the bill? Where is Ashley? Neither appeared for at least 5 minutes after our plates had been cleared by staff. Finally, the bill comes, and I soon can see that Ashley had entered our 12 oysters in 2-by-2 fashion. So, there was an order for 2 Chesapeakes ($4.00), and 2 Beach Blonds ($5.20), and so on... totaling a whopping $30, when we had been led to believe that they would total $17. I pointed out the problem to Ashley, and she goes off again to consult the management, and there I sit waiting (again) for over 5 minutes for her to return. She apologized for entering the oysters incorrectly in the register, and then said we would "only" have to pay $24 for a dozen mixed oysters. Wow, what a bargain, that we pay the full $2 per oyster rate when ordering in bulk. As the final point of damage, I learn only when the bill arrives that this establishment prices a cosmopolitan (with well vodka) at $9.00 a drink. I've paid $9 for a basic cocktail in New York City -- I didn't know that Lionville commands the same rate. I wrote this letter to the management, via their web site. No response for many days. So, I then called the restaurant to see if they had a direct e-mail address I could contact. I was given the owner/manager's e-mail address, to which I sent my note. Six days later -- still no response. So, now my letter goes up for all to see on Trip Advisor, Yelp, OpenTable, etc. Long story short -- the restaurant's food had quite the potential to win us back as loyal customers; but given the level of service and the billing practices that we encountered on our first visit, I'm not sure we'd be coaxed into trying Brickside Grille a second time. EDIT: After this Yelp review caught the management's attention, they did mail us gift certificates to be used for a free Sunday brunch for three patrons. The brunch was very good.

If you're looking for very uninspiring, bland-but-fresh food in an environment that promises so much more, than the Brickside Grille is your place. Situated amongst the never-ending concrete corporate center of Eagleview, the restaurant manages to look warm and inviting from the outside. The hosting staff was quick and efficient, and kindly led us past the open-fire brick grill to a table by the windows. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and cozy for a late winter's night. We were handed menus, a seasonal special menu, and a drink list. To this point, the restaurant showed promise for a high-quality meal, prepared with creativity and expertise, particularly when we looked at the selection and prices. Simply put, if I'm ordering a $20+ meal, and if the majority of the entrees on the menu are $20 on average, I'm expecting a meal that is at least on par with what I can prepare at home--if not better. Sadly, that's not what I received. I ordered the cedar-planked glazed salmon, which came with a sweet potato mash and a vegetable medley. My date ordered the flat iron steak, which came with the medley and pepper-jack mashed potatoes. While the ingredients were fresh, the food was uninspiring and boring. My salmon was served on a thin piece of planking, which did nothing to enhance the flavor. The glaze was thin and puddled around the plate rather than sticking to the fish. No other seasoning or special cooking methods were employed to make the salmon taste like anything other than a piece of fish that had been popped straight from the freezer directly into the microwave. The sweet potato mash was just as bland and boring with no discernible seasonings or cooking methods to enhance the mash's sweetness or savoryness. And finally, the vegetable medley was just as bland--nothing more than cooked vegetables. My date's meal was nearly as boring. His steak was served in a puddle of barbecue sauce to enhance the flavor of the steak, when, if it had been prepared and seasoned and cooked well, a simple glaze would have sufficed. While he said the pepper jack potatoes were decent, they certainly didn't redeem the meal. And the vegetable medley suffered from the same blandness on his palette as it did on mine. A little salt and pepper and butter or evoo would certainly go a long way in kicking up the interest of the vegetables. All in all, we compared it to high quality cafeteria food. Completely boring and totally uninspiring, but served in a pleasant and promising atmosphere. The dirty bathroom (poop on the men's room floor) certainly didn't help turn around our impression of a wasted evening and a misspent $60.

The food here is pretty good, if not a little on the pricey side. Classy atmosphere with a nice lay out. The staff definitely leaves a little too be desired. It was a busy night, so some understanding there, but the waitress didn't really seem to concerned with even getting our drinks out in a reasonable time. I'd still give it another chance based on the food alone.

I have been here several times now and have no major complaints. While I think they have a wide array of breakfast options for brunch they are missing out on French toast, waffles and assortment of meats. The eggs, pancakes, and other items are quite tasty. I enjoy having my eggs and pancakes cooked on the spot. In terms of staff, everyone I have ever had has been extremely sweet and accomodating. I would recommend this place it you are looking for a generic breakfast place with good service.

Not a great experience here....We had a lot of issues with our waiters. I noticed in a few reviews already posted people have said that the waitstaff is 'clueless' and so on, and I totally agree. We had to actually have a new waiter half way through the meal, the first one just seemed to disappear, which was very odd. And then our new waiter kept getting confused about our orders, and actually brought out the wrong dish to one of us in our party. The food here is mediocre at best. I got a salad and it was lukewarm and the chicken tasted chewy. For dessert we got some kind of little chocolate cake that was absolutely awful, it was thick and tasted...floury. The entire texture and flavor was disgusting, almost like they used a nasty unsweetened chocolate and didn't cook it correctly. Ick. Basically, just skip this place! Unorganized waitstaff, MIA waiters, gross food, mixed up orders, unappealing decor...the list goes on, heh.

A coworker and I were stuck here waiting for a ride back to our NYC office and were glad that a) we didn't get rushed out and b) they gave us lots of soda refills. However the food was mediocre at best and just plain old greasy at worst. Also, they don't know what a pot pie is -- they served a bowl of chicken stew with a pastry biscuit on top. :(

Just came from there. Horrible. Had to go out for ice cream because I was hungary & now I am eating snacks! Had the ribs, drowned in sauce, lots of hard gristle that I had to keep taking out of my mouth. My Husband had a Very DRY prime rib & was supposed to be with mashed potatoes, it was baked. My Son had Boubilase ( spelled wrong) looked like vomit, my Daughter-in-Laws crab cakes looked good, she ate them. My Granddaughters pizza was dry bread. What a waste of 100.00 & that did not include any drinks or dessert. Would never go back!

My husband and I have been eating at The Brickside since it opened, the location and facility are great. However the food has gone steadily downhill over the years to the point where we now regularly refer to it as "the Barfside". The Sunday brunch has become almost inedible, it is the lack of care for even the most basic dishes that has become so disappointing from shell ridden crab cakes to stale fries and sandy oysters it is not that the food quality is poor it is simply prepared without care or thought. An example of this was the Ribeye we ordered Medium Rare one evening, it came out Well Done, we sent it back and 15 minutes later the sane steak was returned burnt to a crisp. It is truly a shame because the restaurant has been wonderful and could with a bit of care and effort. The bar is great.

I would say if you live in the area, this is the "go to" place. You know what you are getting, always good food, and you can always get a cold beer!

My wife and I had dinner here for the first time the other night after hearing a lot about the place and we had a good experience. We both really enjoyed our soups, conch chowder and chicken with rice. The conch chowder was very thick and had a flavor reminiscent of Manhattan clam chowder. It was very hearty and tasty. My wife got grilled swordfish for her entree and she thought it was great. The only downer was my entree. I ordered a July special called Black and White Seafood Fettuccini and I just didn't care that much for the flavor of the dish. I will say that the scallops and shrimp were cooked well and the pasta was al dente. There was just something about the taste of the scampi sauce that was slightly funky and didn't appeal to me - and I'm a fairly adventurous eater. I let my wife taste it to see what she thought and she puckered her lips and shook her head. Good thing she didn't order it. I still ate it but I wouldn't order it again. I chalked it up to not being on the same page as the chef that came up with the dish. The fat 6 layer chocolate cake we decided to split for dessert helped end things on a high note. It was in my wife's words, "amazing" - and she's not that into cake. It was pricey though at $9 for the slice but it was a huge piece and with how rich it tastes it is easily enough for 2 to 3 people to share so I think the price is reasonable. If you eat that slice of cake by yourself I'm sorry, but you're a pig! ;-) With the exception of my entree the food was very good, the portions were generous, the prices fair and our server was excellent. In fact it was the best service we've had at a restaurant in a long time. We will definitely be back again.

Nice atmosphere and good solid service. Our meal was very good. We started with the nacho platter which was a very generous portion of nachos with a good mix of cheeses salsa, etc. I had the crab cakes which were nicely done and my wife had the rainbow trout. Again both meals were generous servings and prepared well. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. Nice neighborhood establishment and I would definitely return.

I always visit the Brickside when I come to visit my family. I am sorry to say that the tradition is over. Simply put, I know that the economic situation in America has strained the restaurant business tremendously. Unfortunately, you feel the full impact of this terrible situation here. I could taste the lack of quality product and the service did not make up for it. I attended on a night where there were few customers, yet our service was quite hands off. Surprising. The steak was poor quality at great quality prices. When it came out of the kitchen, it was overcooked. It happens. I sent it back and though the apologies were plentiful and the floor manager brought out my new dish, the steak (now cooked better) was tough and flavorless. The sides were nothing special either. I would recommend that management take a closer look at what they are providing as well as the attentiveness of their service staff. They have an amazing location, pleasant decor and a winning formula. I am sure that they can get it back on track with a more creative approach and a watchful eye. Sadly, I will not be giving this establishment another chance.

I'm a big fan of Brickside Grille. First of all, it's located in Eagleview Corporate Center (within the Town Center) which is pretty darn convenient for me since I work there. Aside from location, the food is decent and not overly priced. Their outside patio is rather large and great for stopping in for drinks and/or a snack on a whim. For those who don't know, Brickside is affiliated with The Drafting Room. So if you've been to The Drafting Room, that will give you an idea of the style and quality of the food. The pizzas are delish (The Mediterranean is my fave - Artichoke Hearts, Kalamata Olives, Plum Tomatoes, Red Onion, Feta Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, Herbed Olive Oil) and enough to share with a few people as a snack. I've been here on several occasions for lunch and can get in and out and back to the office within an hour. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken wrap. Go for the "hot" as opposed to the "mild" version. The mild is more of a marinara sauce rather than a buffalo sauce (so glad I asked what the difference was when I ordered). The hot version was more like your average buffalo wing sauce; a little bite but not overbearing. Plus they add their homemade salsa to the sandwich. Who would have thought wing sauce and salsa would have tasted so good together! You can find me here at least once every week during the spring and summer; either at Happy Hour or after a softball game.

Brickside is a great place to come after work in the summer and just hangout I like to call it the Iron Hill of the Exton area. Me and my wife and our friends come here in the summer to sit outside, enjoy the live music they have (only on Wednesdays I think) and the sounds of the fountain. It's a decent place to come during other seasons as well but during the time you can sit outside it's even better. The food is ok, you will not be blown away, but it is not bad either. They have plenty of beers on tap and bottle. If you can't decide what to get from the menu know that the burger's are phenomenal and the Crab Louis salad is good as well. Pizza is another "solid" recommendation. Their oysters are good as well, just don't go with the Cheasapeake ones, they are not as good as the others.

We were up in the Pottstown area and someone recommended the Brickside Grille. Well it took a bit of finding this place from Route 100 as it is in the Town Center. Not being from this area we did not know you had to go through a business complex to get to it. This is not a fancy place, you can come dressed up or down. If you like oysters, clams or shrimp they certainly have a large selection on the menu. But we were just grabbing some dinner and not too hungry at the time. We ordered a mini bread with the Rainbow Trout entrée and then had the apple crumble for dessert. The service here is sloooooooooooooooooooooow and drawn out. Not sure why. After we saw all the other tables getting bread baskets we had to ASK our waitress for the same. By this time we were getting hungry and our food had not come yet. Finally our mini bread came out- skip it. It's a mini pizza and not worth the money or calories. You can fill up on the bread and butter. The rainbow trout comes with mushrooms and rice. The presentation was great and I was all set to drool over the fish coated with a pecan crust.......... But it was so bland, I looked up in surprise and asked my husband what he thought of it. He just shook his head. The rice was fine, but hey, it's rice. The only surprise was that they had drizzled a citric seasoning on the mushrooms. Sigh,,,,, I was disappointed and still wanted something more to eat-so we opted for the apple crumble which got higher ratings than the carrot cake from our server. OMG- don't get this. Unless you like salted seasoned apples. There was no crisp in sight. And the whole thing was topped off by a huge amount of ice cream. I cannot figure out what happened with this dessert and where the salt came from. It WAS NOT GOOD. So we ate the ice cream. Overall I would not be going back to the restaurant.

The server and host were very friendly and attentive. Our party of 3 ordered a NY strip, a steak sandwich and a filet mignom. Strip was ordered rare came medium, filet was ordered med rare and came well done. The manager replaced the filet, but it took about another 20 minutes to arrive. We left late with one person eating alone. Outside area was nice, but kitchen needs to be more responsive.

Another local establishment that we can count on for a good meal just around the corner. In addition to their normal service, we have also been here for large group events and their Sunday brunch, and found their handling of both of these types of events to be fantastic.

Horrible margarita. Outside of that dinner was fine. Usually only have lunch here, but stopped for dinner last night and it was ok. Shrimp and oysters were fresh and very good. BLackened prime rib was good, but a little fatty. Stuffed shrimp was also good. I would have given this place another 1/2 except for one thing. Ordered a margarita which was the worst tasting thing in the world. We sent the margarita back and the waitress wanted to know exactly what was wrong. It was bad, didn't want it and ordered $40.00 of wine. When the bill comes the margarita was still on the bill. When I asked she said that she couldn't tell the bartender what was wrong with it so they left it on the charge. I will probably go back for lunch, but not real happy they didn't want to take the drink off the bill. It was $5.95 , so not the end of the world, but still, most GOOD restaurants will take off the any drink , or wine, that a patron doesn't like. Won't go for dinner again, since Vickers is close and has a wait staff that would have been more accomadating than the one we had.
